(3)合叙型:这是顺序和倒叙互相结合的一种叙述方法.在叙述某事的过程中暂时中断线索,插入另一件事的叙述。对全文来说,插入仅是一个片段,插叙完后,文章仍回到原来的事件叙述上来。这种插叙不是叙述的主体部分,一般不会发生在主流的时间范围内。若把这种插叙删去,虽然会削弱主体的深刻性,但不明显影响主要情节的完整性。合叙型的结构模式是:总叙+结尾. 2.英语记叙文的语言特点

记叙某个人物的经历、活动或某件事情的经过离不开叙述的主体,即 “人称”。记叙文中的人称大多采用第一人称或第三人称的形式。第一人称的叙述主观色彩较浓,可以增强文章的真实感,有利于表述细腻的情感和细节的过程;第三人称的叙述可以超越时空的限制,更加真实、客观地表述某一人物活动或事件的全过程。

在全国大学英语四级考试的各种作文体裁中,记叙文需要应试者具有更全面的语言技能与篇章组织能力。四级考试中常见的议论文和说明文分别要求语言的准确性和论证的合理性、可信性;而记叙文的语言则以生动、真实、贴切为准则。同一个记叙文题目,不同的人会描述不同的人物经历或事件,又很少有固定的表达或句式可供参考,这时作者的综合语言水平就会表现出来,对能否取得高分起到了相当重要的作用。 这就要求考生平时要多注意语言的磨练和积累。

六.记叙文写作技巧

英语记叙文的写作方法

什么是记叙文呢?朗文现代英语词典中对记叙文的定义是“an orderly description of events”。也就是说,记叙文通常以记叙和描写为主,是以记人叙事为主要内容的一种文体,叙述人们的经历或事物发展变化过程的一种表达方式。其描写的事情可真实、可虚构或二者合一,通常按事件发生的先后次序进行。记叙文应以记叙为主,可适当发表见解、议论和抒情,但不可过多。

1.记叙文的分类

记叙文一般说来,它大致分为三类:

一是以记人为主的记叙文,即以人物为中心组织材料,围绕这个人物可以写一件事,也可写几件事;集中主要人物的描写,记叙人物遇到的事情及人物有什么影响。

二是以写事为主的记叙文,即以事件为中心组织材料,围绕中心事件可以写一个人,也可以写几个人;为了引起读者的注意,可以从一些纠纷或交叉事件中展开,直到高潮出现,再将问题解决。

三是以写景状物为主的记叙文。

但应注意的是,在一篇记叙文中,写人、写景、写事往往是交织在一起的,不能截然分开,但各有侧重。

2.明确五个“W”和一个“H”

要写好记叙文,首先必须确定写些什么,然后懂得如何收集、选取素材,而不能提笔就写,写到哪里算哪里。

一篇完整的记叙文要能够把某一事件的经过情形介绍清楚,能回答有关这件事情的五个“W”和一个“H” :when(时间) where(地点) who(人物) why(原因) what(经过) how(结果),做到有条有理,使读者易于明白。

一篇好的英语记叙文读后不应让读者还存有上述疑问。如:

Last week I took part in the final piano contest at the school.On that night, I was so nervous that I could hardly move my fingers.As I waited for my turn to appear on the stage, I was sure I had forgotten the opening notes of my piece of music.I began thinking of ways to run away, maybe I could faint(晕倒) or pretend to be very much ill.But then at the last minute my piano teacher came by to wish me luck and said something that suddenly changed everything.When my turn came,I played with ease and confidence.Although the results of the contest were disappointing,I was pleased that I had conquered one of my major enemies——stage fright(怯场)。

文中黑体部分读后让人留下了两个疑问:1)老师究竟说了些什么(What)使得一切突然发生了变化; 2)既然“轻松自信地”进行了演奏,为何(Why)结果会令人失望。由于文章没有很好地处理这两个W,所以尽管文笔不错,还是一篇没有写好的记叙文。

3.确定以第几人称记叙

一般来说,英语记叙文展开记叙的视角有两个:第一人称和第三人称。第一人称是从“参与者”的角度进行记叙;第三人称是以“观察者”的身份展开叙述,要根据具体情况合理选用。

(1)第一人称叙述(First—person narrator):写作者以当事人的口气,即第一人称来叙述,把文章中的事情以“我”的所见所闻来告诉读者,用主观的表现手法,给读者一种亲切自然的感觉,如同亲身经历一样,加强了事件的可信性,直接抒发作者的思想情感,从而引起读者的共鸣。

(2)第三人称叙述(Third—person narrator):写作者从旁观者的角度来叙述事件,以客观的写作方法,能够充分反映事件中各人的感受及见解,以全知的视角来叙述。

在用第一人称的记叙文中,不要过多地使用“I„”,“We„”这样的句型,以免给人单调乏味的感觉。在以第三人称进行记叙时,要避免过多的评论,以至失去记叙文的客观性。另一方面,确定了记叙视角后,不可再随意变来变去,以免破坏文章的连贯性以及打乱读者的思路。

4.确定以何种顺序展开记叙

大多数情况下叙述都是按照事情的发展及时间的先后(顺叙)进行的,但有时也可以采用其它顺序,如倒叙、插叙等。

5.时态选择:

由于大部分记叙文都是建立在时间顺序的基础上的,所以记叙文最常用的时态是一般过去时或者一般现在时,而前者出现的几率更大一些。

大多数文学作品中的叙述(或概括)采用的都是一般现在时; 大多数对历史事件或个人经历的叙述采用的都是一般过去时

要注意的是,每篇记叙文都应该有一个基本的时态贯穿其始终。只有在需要特别解释或特别强调的时候,时态变化才是必须并有效的。

6.叙述的方法:

一般叙述的线索可分为以下几种:

(1)以时间为线索,按时间的顺序来展开。

(2)以地点为线索,以地点的转移为顺序来展开。

(3)以事件发展的过程为线索,或以人物出现的先后次序来展开。

(4)以事物的象征意义为线索来展开。

(5)以人物的思想行为及认知的过程为线索来展开。

Honesty

When I was a little child, I was very naughty and eager to know how the things around me worked.I would do something “bad” or surprising and often made others angry.But I will never forget what I did once and what had been told then.

One day, I found a little clock in my Grandpa\'s room.It had a red hand which kept running and running.I wondered who was there turning the clock.So I took the clock apart.And then I looked carefully and seriously into it with great interest.At last I was delighted that I knew how it worked.But I didn\'t know how to put the parts together correctly.I tried my best but still a few parts were left.I didn\'t know where to fit them.So I hid them.

Learning English

I never like learning English as I felt that it is a weird language and indeed it is.The environment I lived in taught me that English is an important language and if I want to survive in the society in the future, I must master my English.Therefore since young, my parents have been encouraging me to read more and be in more contact with English.However, my English standard was still on the average side.

At the end of secondary school, I was required to pa my „O‟ level English in order to get a place in the junior collage or polytechnic, thus my English teacher started drilling the cla hoping to help us make maximum improvement in the shortest time.The strategy my teacher used was to focus on composition as she felt that writing a good composition will maximize our score since the comprehension section was rather unpredictable.

She always made us practice checking, where after we were done with our composition we were required to check out for vocabulary, grammar and spelling mistakes.In the past, I was a borderline paer but since I adopted my teacher‟s method, I failed all the composition I had written.I was disheartened then, that I decided for once to abandon the new writing style and switch back to what I was used to.

To my surprise, I paed the particular composition.I did some thinking then and got to a conclusion.I do know how to write properly, reading since young have subconsciously taught me the correct way of phrasing, it was just I did not realize it.As I was too focus on correcting and checking, I made more mistakes.

The point I want to emphasize here is that reading really helps a lot in writing; we may not feel it but deep inside us we are getting better.It is alright to read below our level as long as we understand and enjoy it.Reading beyond can come afterwards where we are in the comfortable zone, by then, we should be able to experiences the beauty of this language, English.

记叙文也称叙述文,是一种以记叙/叙述的手法来表述人物、事件的文体。记叙文以写人、记事、状物为主要内容,以叙述和描写为表达方式的文章。常见的属于记叙文文体的作品有:故事、游记、通讯、新闻报道、历史、人物传记、日记和回忆录等。 1.记叙文的分类

记叙文一般说来,它大致分为三类:

一是以记人为主的记叙文,主要是对人物的经历、活动或者性格特征进行叙述,即以人物为中心组织材料,围绕这个人物可以写一件事,也可写几件事;集中主要人物的描写,记叙人物遇到的事情及人物有什么影响。此类记叙文重在描述人物的活动。

二是以写事为主的记叙文,是对某一事件的发生、发展过程和结果进行叙述,即以事件为中心组织材料,围绕中心事件可以写一个人,也可以写几个人;为了引起读者的注意,可以从一些纠纷或交叉事件中展开,直到高潮出现,再将问题解决。此类记叙文重在表述事件的发生发展过程。

三是以写景状物为主的记叙文。

但应注意的是,在一篇记叙文中,写人、写景、写事往往是交织在一起的,不能截然分开,但各有侧重。

2.记叙文写作要点如下:

1).明确写作目的和叙述的中心思想,段落叙述始终围绕着主题而展开,避免空间的叙述和与主题无关的内容。

2). 明确五个“W”和一个“H”

要写好记叙文,首先必须确定写些什么,然后懂得如何收集、选取素材,而不能提笔就写,写到哪里算哪里。

一篇完整的记叙文要能够把某一事件的经过情形介绍清楚,能回答有关这件事情的五个“W”和一个“H” :when(时间) where(地点) who(人物) why(原因) what(经过) how(结果),做到有条有理,使读者易于明白。

3). 一篇记叙文,无论长短如何都应该是一个完全独立的事实,因此,在下笔时必须明确:该从何处开始叙述,该在何处结束叙述,以及应该提供何种事实才能使叙述完整。

4).写作顺序可以采用“顺叙”、“倒叙”和“穿插叙述”的方法。正叙是英语叙述文中最常用的一种结构,即以人物出现、活动或事件开始发生的时间点作为记叙的起点,然后按照人物活动的展开、事件发生发展的自然顺序进行叙述。倒叙则是在文章的开头就交待人物活动或事件发展的结果。插叙这一结构在我们的英文写作中很少用到。但初学者最好采用“顺叙”的方法进行训练,以情节发生时间的先后为序

记叙文也曾记事文,用于记叙事情的发展变化或人物的经历,它简单易学又很常用,所以最适合学生学习英语作文。它可以通过记日记的形式进行练习。学记叙文时习作者可将自己一天的活动(或一次活动)依时间顺序或空间顺序记下来。当然,随着写作水平的提高,以后就应该打破这种顺序的限制。 5).确定以第几人称记叙

记叙某个人物的经历、活动或某件事情的经过离不开叙述的主体,即 “人称”。一般来说,英语记叙文展开记叙的视角有两个:第一人称和第三人称。第一人称是从“参与者”的角度进行记叙;第三人称是以“观察者”的身份展开叙述。第一人称的叙述主观色彩较浓,可以增强文章的真实感,有利于表述细腻的情感和细节的过程;第三人称的叙述可以超越时空的限制,更加真实、客观地表述某一人物活动或事件的全过程。

1 (1)第一人称叙述(First—person narrator):写作者以当事人的口气,即第一人称来叙述,把文章中的事情以“我”的所见所闻来告诉读者,用主观的表现手法,给读者一种亲切自然的感觉,如同亲身经历一样,加强了事件的可信性,直接抒发作者的思想情感,从而引起读者的共鸣。

(2)第三人称叙述(Third—person narrator):写作者从旁观者的角度来叙述事件,以客观的写作方法,能够充分反映事件中各人的感受及见解,以全知的视角来叙述。

在用第一人称的记叙文中,不要过多地使用“I…”,“We…”这样的句型,以免给人单调乏味的感觉。在以第三人称进行记叙时,要避免过多的评论,以至失去记叙文的客观性。另一方面,确定了记叙视角后,不可再随意变来变去,以免破坏文章的连贯性以及打乱读者的思路。

无论采用第一人称,还是采用第三人称,都要保持全文叙述主体的人称的一致性。注意:句式尽量要多变,不要通篇文章的句子都以人称代词开头,否则文章会显得单调沉闷。例如: I loved the book first because of its beautiful heroine.Then I found it a romantic love story which greatly moved me.I now find that it is better taken as the growth story of a naive girl into a strong-willed woman.I realize that it is the eence of the book that attracts such big number of faithful readers.

大多数情况下叙述都是按照事情的发展及时间的先后(顺叙)进行的,但有时也可以采用其它顺序,如倒叙、插叙等。 7).时态选择:

记叙文讲述的大多是过去已经发生的活动或事件,因此用过去时态(一般过去时、过去进行时、过去将来时、过去完成时)的作品比较多。但有时为了使文章显得更加真实、亲切和生动,也可以使用现在时态(一般现在时、现在进行时、现在将来时、现在完成时)。

由于大部分记叙文都是建立在时间顺序的基础上的,所以记叙文最常用的时态是一般过去时或者一般现在时,而前者出现的几率更大一些。

大多数文学作品中的叙述(或概括)采用的都是一般现在时; 大多数对历史事件或个人经历的叙述采用的都是一般过去时

要注意的是,每篇记叙文都应该有一个基本的时态贯穿其始终。只有在需要特别解释或特别强调的时候,时态变化才是必须并有效的。 8).叙述的方法:

一般叙述的线索可分为以下几种:

(1)以时间为线索,按时间的顺序来展开。

(2)以地点为线索,以地点的转移为顺序来展开。

(3)以事件发展的过程为线索,或以人物出现的先后次序来展开。

(4)以事物的象征意义为线索来展开。

(5)以人物的思想行为及认知的过程为线索来展开。 3.措辞与表达

记叙文需要应试者具有更全面的语言技能与篇章组织能力。常见的议论文和说明文分别要求语言的准确性和论证的合理性、可信性;而记叙文的语言则以生动、真实、贴切为准则。同一个记叙文题目,不同的人会描述不同的人物经历或事件,又很少有固定的表达或句式可供参考,这时作者的综合语言水平就会表现出来,对能否取得高分起到了相当重要的作用。

1).仔细审题,明确主题,选准素材,罗列提纲。 2).写好第一段

最好能采用一个复句并且用上几个四级水平的单词或词组。这样的文章开篇方式会使读者或阅卷人确信接下来的文章也一样精彩。

3).结构要清晰

下笔之前一定要对整篇文章的结构有一个完整的构想,作文的框架、主题和脉络是最重要的采分点。要清楚每一段要陈述哪些内容,这样不仅可以增强文章的逻辑性和可接受性,还可以使整篇作文的行文水到渠成,不会有凑字数的烦恼。所叙述的事件都应包括开头(beginning),主体(main body)和结尾(ending)三个部分。不论叙述一个人或一件事,必须有情节发展的过程。有时可以有冲突、高潮,这样文章不会平淡无奇。

4).尽量多使用表示转折、顺接、因果和时间的连接词

如first、second、moreover、for one thing…for another、on the one hand…on the other hand等。这样既可以显示语言功底,又增强了记叙内容的连贯性和生动性。

5). 要多用等级较高的词汇,要使句式多样化

没有语言错误并不是高分作文的保障;作文想拿高分,高等级词汇和句型必须达到一定的比例。如,表示“重视”的词汇有stre,emphasize等,但选用短语attach importance to更能吸引人的注意;disagree和frown on sth.都表示反对或不赞成,前者就平淡,后者表达意思很生动,更能引起注意。

简单句和复合句合理搭配,长短句交替使用,会增强文章的节奏感,使描写更生动。如: (1) 名词化手段:用名词或名词词组替换一个句子或句子的主要部分,然后使这个名词或名词短语成为另外一个句子的组成部分,以达到合并句子的目的。如:

We were very much surprised. Mary refused the invitation.

We were very much surprised at/by Mary’s refusal of the invitation.

(2) 定语化手段:根据语义关系,可以把其中一句转换成形容词或形容词性成分、分词短语、定语从句等,如:

The winner was in no mood for speeches.

The winner,hot and tired,was in no mood for speeches.(转换成形容词短语) 6).最后的2—3分钟,进行修改检查。

检查的内容不是“大处着眼”,而是“小处着手”;不是考虑作文的框架结构,而是留心细枝末节。即检查:

(1) 动词时态是否正确(还包括主句与从句中的谓语动词时态);

(2) 主谓语是否一致;

(3) 代词的指代关系是否清楚;

(4) 动宾搭配是否合适;

(5) 用词是否错误;

(6) 冠词;

(7) 大小写、标点符号;

(8) 漏写、误写和拼写错误。 5.常用句式及常用表达

在记人的文章中,我们首先应该把人物介绍给读者,对人物的一些外貌特征可以在开头部分中加以介绍。例如,在介绍一位老师的文章中可以这样开头:

例如前面那段记叙Mr.WangXing的文章的开头对该位老师进行了外表描写(次要特征)之后,下面可以这样展开:

三、记叙文的结尾。

记叙文的结尾不像说明文和论说文的结尾那样复杂。叙事的文章通常是依照事件的发生、发展和结局这样一个自然的顺序来结尾。无须在结构上及方法上有特殊的要求。在记人的文章中,作者通常是有感而发。所以在此类文章结尾时,作者时常发表感慨,陈述自己对某人的观点或态度。在有些“难忘的某事”之类的文章中,作者可用一些议论来结尾。例如,前面所讲到的“郊游”

和“难忘的老师”两篇文章,其结尾可分别是:

1、明确写作目的。

任何一篇写作都有其鲜明的目的:或证明某一理论,或阐明某一概念,或赞美某种美德或谴责某种罪恶等,以确保读者准确无误的领会作者对所叙述的人或事物的意图。

2、认真挑选细节。

记叙文是由细节组成的。读者只有通过足够的细节才能知道发生了什么事情。但细节过多会使读者如堕烟海,兴趣顿消。因此要注意选用与内容有关或能表现主要观点的细节,才能产生预期的效果。

3、注意人称的使用。

(一)记叙文的开头。

就一般情况而言,记叙文通常由三个部分组成:开头、展开和结尾。记叙文的开头通常交代事件的背景,即交代事件发生的时间、地点、有关人物

和人与人之间的相互关系等内容。这些方面包含着导致未来变化和发展的因素,可以帮助读者理解事件的本身。例如。介绍某次郊游的文章可以这样开头:

(二)记叙文的展开。

记叙文的展开通常可以从四个方面入手:以人物活动的时间顺序为线索;按空间位置变换组织材料;以事件发生的顺序记叙;以人物的主次性格特征为序。前两种方法主要用于叙事的文章中,第四种方法用于记人的文章中,第三种方法即可用于记人又可用于叙事。

1、以人物活动的时间顺序为线索。

前面我们介绍了一次郊游的开头,接下来我们可以按人物活动的时间顺序作如下展开:

例如前面那段记叙Mr.WangXing的文章的开头对该位老师进行了外表描写(次要特征)之后,下面可以这样展开:

三、记叙文的结尾。

记叙文的结尾不像说明文和论说文的结尾那样复杂。叙事的文章通常是依照事件的发生、发展和结局这样一个自然的顺序来结尾。无须在结构上及方法上有特殊的要求。在记人的文章中,作者通常是有感而发。所以在此类文章结尾时,作者时常发表感慨,陈述自己对某人的观点或态度。在有

些“难忘的某事”之类的文章中,作者可用一些议论来结尾。例如,前面所讲到的“郊游”

和“难忘的老师”两篇文章,其结尾可分别是:

结语。

如上所述,记叙文是记人、叙事的文章。叙事时,一般按照时间的先后顺序和空间的位置变换来展开;记人时,主要按照人物特征的主次来展开。这是我们在写记叙文时应当掌握的最基本方法。但是,掌握这些基本方法并不意味着就能写出一篇好的记叙文,我们还必须做到以下几点:

1、明确写作目的。

任何一篇写作都有其鲜明的目的:或证明某一理论,或阐明某一概念,或赞美某种美德或谴责某种罪恶等,以确保读者准确无误的领会作者对所叙述的人或事物的意图。

2、认真挑选细节。

记叙文是由细节组成的。读者只有通过足够的细节才能知道发生了什

么事情。但细节过多会使读者如堕烟海,兴趣顿消。因此要注意选用与内容有关或能表现主要观点的细节,才能产生预期的效果。

3、注意人称的使用。

叙述的人称(可以是第一人称也可以是第三人称)通常是一贯到底而不是随意变换的。若需要交替使用两种人称,则要在人称替换处交代清楚,要通过适当的过渡提醒读者。

4、恰当使用时态。

一般来说,在叙述故事、游记时可用一般过去时和过去完成时;在介绍人物、看图作文时,要看具体情况而定,可用一般现在时,也可用一般过去时,当然其间也可穿插其他时态。在确定一个主要时态之后,后面的部分在展开时不至于发生时态混乱。而这一点是确保记叙文语言流畅的一个基本条件。

5、学会穿插其他文体。

任何文章不可能是一种文体贯彻始终。记叙文中有时可有议论,有时也可有人物的描写。通过议论,可抒发作者的主观情感;通过对人物外貌、言行和心理活动的描写,可揭示人物的性格特征和精神面貌。

6、勤于练习。

要写好一篇记叙文,了解和掌握一些有关的写作知识和写作技巧是很有必要的。当然,更为重要的是要勤于练习。首先应“吃透”几篇范文。

从形式到内容,从选题到立意,从遣词造句到布局谋篇,均可从范文中获得教益。此外,要做到“学而时习之”。写同类文章时,有关信息就会浮现,组织加工后,即可跃然纸上。

1、以一般过去时为主,其他时态为辅。合理使用丰富多彩的谓语动词时态,而这种复杂的时态特征在汉语记叙文中是根本没有的。正是有了动词时态的变化,才使英语文章中所叙述的动作有了层次感和立体感。

2、广泛使用动词,特别是动态动词。由于这些动词的存在,文章就会充满“动感”,而这种让往事历历在目的“动感”正是优秀的记叙文所要追求的。

3、适当运用直接引语。直接引语的使用可以代替间接的主观叙述,简洁、生动地表达出事件发展的过程和各种人物的心理活动,充分展示人物的独特个性和人物之间的相互关系。

解答记叙文体的完形填空时,应着重把握以下几点:

1、了解文章的结构形式。通常为了叙述方便,作者会按时间先后顺序或空间顺序等方式来安排情节和内容。其优点是条理清楚,层次分明。读者也较容易理解和接受。但是有时为了突出某个情节或为了增加阅读趣味,或为了其他目的,作者可能会采用插叙,甚至倒叙的写作手法。弄清了文章篇章信息的分布情况,有助于抓住文章的主线,理清文章的脉络。

【题型特征】

记叙文是记人叙事的文章,是中学英语书面表达中的常见文体之一。故事性记叙文是以叙事为主要表达方式,以描写人物的经历和事件发生发展的过程以及事件发生的前因后果等为主要内容的一种文体。记叙文以记叙为主,间有描写、抒情或议论。

记叙文的六要素:时间(when)、地点(where)、人物(who)、起因(why)、经过(how)和结果(what)。 【注意事项】

1、要素:只有交待清楚记叙文的六要素,读者才能清楚、全面地了解所叙述的故事。

2、人称:一般来说,英语记叙文展开记叙的视角有两个:第一人称和第三人称。

3、顺序:最常用的是按事件发生的时间顺序进行记叙。偶尔可用倒叙、插叙等方法。

4、时态:用过去时态,常以一般过去时为主。因为文章是叙述过去发生的事情。

5、内容:要全面,重点要突出,详略要得当。【典型例题】
