Love actually

Pride and Prejudice is a masterpiece written by a British writer named Jane Austen. In the book, she expreed the relationship between love and marriage in a humorous way and showed different attitudes toward marriage by depicting several young women of different descent, economic position and horizon of knowledge.

The story talks about four marriages which occurred in Britain in the 19th century. And the most important among them are protagonists Elizabeth and Darcy.Elizabeth is pretty and smart. As for love and marriage, she has her own strong principle that she won\'t be confused by money and status but to insist on looking for true love. While Darcy is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Therefore, she has a prejudice against him.Pride and prejudice lead to the unpleasent and misunderstanding between them. However, after clarification of various matters , they gradually fall in love and conclude the happy marriage.

In the book, Jane clearly explained that it is wrong to get married for the property, money and status. She emphasized the

important of the ideal marriage and regarded men and women\'s emotions as the foundation stone.

As far as I am concerned, I have learned two things from the book,o n the one hand, pride and prejudice are very common weakne among us, therefore, everyone can easily driven by their own subjective feelings and misunderstanding of others.Only in-depth understanding can we know a person\'s inner world. On the other hand, Elizabeth insists on her emotions and isn\'t confused by money and status, pursues her love bravely.Although we have different pursuits, I hope I can carry on like her. After all, uphold the dream is a happy thing.

推荐第2篇:傲慢与偏见英文读后感

My first reaction to this book is that it is based on much more on social hierarchy than I have imagined it to be.

The first sentence in this book is impreive. It reads: “It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in poeion of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”.It also hides such mattes: a single woman must be in want of a husband, especially a wealthy one.I think the undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but poeion. So there is no difficulty to explain why Mr.Bennet eagerly wants to marry off her daughters to wealthy husbands. At that time in Britain, Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s poeions.Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in poeion of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. Thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many poeions.Jane Austen told us that money and poeion determined everything, including marriage and love in her century.

In “Pride and Prejudice”, the sister of Mr.Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennets don’t have many poeions and their social positions are much lower than them. From this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy husband. There is a strong cla-consciousne in society at that time.

This cla-consciousne also appears in Darcy’s proposal of marriage to Elizabeth.“He spoke well, but there were feelings besides those of the heart to be detailed, and he was not more eloquent on the subject of tenderne than of pride. His sense of her inferiority -of its being a degradation-of the family obstacles which judgment had always opposed to inclination, were dwelt on with a warmth which seemed due to the consequence he was wounding, but was very unlikely to recommend his suit.” As the above quote makes clear, he spends more time emphasizing her lower rank and unsuitability for marriage to him than he does complimenting her or pledging his love.

Darcy’s arrogance and the sense of the superiority prefigure the failure of the

proposal.

But, at the end of the story, Darcy and Bingley conquer the prejudice of social

hierarchy and find the true love.In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly,

the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind.A

lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages.Education background,

poeions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage.Marry

for money is still a big problem in our society. But I can’t help asking: if the rich

marry the rich, the poor marry the poor, how can the society improve?

推荐第3篇:傲慢与偏见英文读后感

The main story of the film happens between Elizabeth Bennet and Darcy.Although, it seems that, they haven’t attracted anyone’s eyes.I mean that nobody has thought that love will exist between they two.Because almost everyone has heart of the complaint from their

mouths about the other. So it is not surprise to see the father become so amazed when Lizzy says that she loves Darcy. But what’s the reason? What has stopped them from getting together at first? It’s price and prejudice. We all know that at the first ball, when Lizzy asked Mr Darcy to have a dance. He refused. He didn’t think that anyone at the village can deserve him. After this, Lizzy promised not to pay attention to him any more because of his pride.

There are another two things that make the impreion of the hero worse on the herion. One is that she thinks it’s him he that had separated her sister and her lover. The second is that she heard of something bad ,fabricated by Wickham who has antinomies with Darcy. These make the feeling of prejudice stronger and stronger.

At last, when everything comes to light Lizzy regretted. She found that she had misunderstood him.And darcy has although changed .Not proud at all.He made an offer of marriage to her again and was accepted. No pride and no prejudice between each other.

Pride and Prejudice as a love story, this book is an illustration of the society in Britain in the 18th century. She perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at her time and gave the people in her works vivid characters. The characters have their own

personalities.Mrs.Bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters.Mr.Bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, Mr.Darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior.Even the five daughters in Bennet family are very different.Jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others.Elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion.Mary likes reading claic books.(Actually she is a pedant.) Kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, Lydia.Lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate.

The family of gentleman in the countryside is Jane Austen’s favourite topic. But this little topic can reflect big problems. It concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in Britain in her century.

The first sentence in this book is impreive. It

reads: “It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried

man in poeion of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”.

The undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriageis

not emotion but poeion.Just like now.People always think that Austen was an expert at telling love

stories. In fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. After reading this book, I know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man.I couldn’t forget how eager Mrs.Bennet wants to marry off her daughters. If you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, I must mention the situation in Britain at that time.Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s poeions.Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in poeion of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. Thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier,

particularly for women without many poeions.Jane Austen told us that money and poeion determined everything, including marriage and love in her century.

In “Pride and Prejudice”, the sister of Mr.Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennets don’t have many poeions and their social positions are much lower than them. From this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry

a wealthy husband. The society, the relatives would not allow them to get married. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind.A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages.poeions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage.Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We can’t help thinking: can money determine everything?Austen left this problem for us to think. The genius of Jane Austen lies in this perfect simplicity, the simplicity that reflects big problems.Although Austen was only 21 when she wrote “Pride and Prejudice”, her sharp observation of social lives makes the style of this book surprisingly mature and lively. The plots in her works are always very natural. The development of the plot is as inevitable as a problem in mathematics.I think the depth of Pride and Prejudice is the reason that makes this book prominent and claic.Today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time.

Here, I want to remind you is I feel very have lasting appeal is \"pride

and prejudice\" this seemingly might hinder interpersonal \"twin

brother\" - of course is man\'s pride and prejudice, why not woman

woman\'s arrogance and prejudice man? On a simple love from the

perspective: isn\'t the \"twin brother\" let two hero love more perfect.Without these seemingly hinders perfect thing -- actually make perfect thing, if they start light so hard heart, let a person relaxed pine walk together, and that this story also will no longer let person hard heart, not to let people cherish this hard-won diolve.

The impreion of Pride and Prejudice

The book《 Pride and Prejudice》 iswrittenby Jane Austen , a famous English writer .

I still remember the first sentence in this

book .It reads :\"It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in poeion of a large fortune must in need of a wife .\" The undertone is very clear : the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but poeion.Love seems to be a perpetual theme all the time .And the main story in the book Pride and Prejudice is not a exception .The writer tells us her views and attitudes about love and marriage in this book.

The novel mainly tells us a love story between Elizabath and Mr.Darcy.It is at a ball that Elizabeth meets Mr.Darcy for the first time and his pride and supercilious behaviors has left Elizabeth a terrible impreion .This is the reason why Elizabeth\'s prejudice towards him begins .Besides this

reason ,there are two other incidents strengthens Elizabeth\'s prejudice .The first is that Wickham

speaks ill of Mr.Darcy, which makes Elizabeth thinks him is unworthy to making acquaince of.The second is that Elizabeth regards Darcy is the person who

separates her sister Jane and Mr.Bingley.But with the plots developing ,Darcy has changed himself and become no longer pride ,he also helps Jane and Bingley\'s reunion .All these factor change

Elizabeth\'s attitude towards Darcy.Eventually , Elizabeth and Darcy become a couple and lead a happy life from then on.

After reading this novel, I realize the

author—Jane Austen’s attitudes and viewstowards love and marriage: is unpractical to get married just for property, wealth and social status while would it be without caring about these elements.Marriage should be based on a real love and it is not a game! You can not just enjoy it without prudent

considerations. There is a gap which is called pride and prejudice between Elizabeth and Darcy , for they poe different society status and amount of property. But the ending which the author arranges that Elizabeth and Darcy break all the obstacles and

become a love couple suggests that true do exist no matter how different the background ,the status is .And I think this book will arouse people’s awarene of the importance of true love in a marriage.

The book review of Pride and Prejudice

管宁

Pride and Prejudice is a novel by Jane Austen, first published in 1813.The story follows the main character Elizabeth Bennet as she deals with iues of manners, upbringing, morality, education and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th-century England.

After reading this book, I find that its name, Pride and Prejudice, is quite meaningful. Both the pride and prejudice are caused by money and social hierarchy.Jane reflected the reality of society by drawing the characters of specific person as well as the tongue they used when they speak. Some people think that only Mr.Darcy was proud and only Elizabeth had prejudice towards other else. But I hold the different opinion.

When a wealthy young bachelor, Bingley, moving into Netherfield Park in the neighborhood of the Bennet family, he is soon well-received because of his income of 5000 a year and poibility of marrying one of the young girls in the town. It’s quite easy to see the whole society was chasing down money and fame. That is a good background that the writer succefully set, making the following things sound reasonable.

The Bennets\' cousin Mr Collins, a clergyman, was proud of his rich patrone, the noble Lady Catherine de Bourgh. After being refused by Elizabeth of the offer of marriage, Mr Collins soon recovered and promptly became engaged to Elizabeth\'s close friend who pointed out that Mr Collins is a good, respectful, well-employed man which is absolutely untrue. How eager was she to have financial security by marrying a, what to say, kind of rich and powerful husband. We wonder whether the society had real love.

When Elizabeth went to visit her married girlfriend Charlotte and Mr Collins, she was to meet Mr.Darcy more frequently.Mr Darcy finds himself, again, attracted to Elizabeth and proposes to her. While talking to each other, Elizabeth charged him with pride, with destroying her sister\'s happine, with his disgraceful treatment of Mr Wickham, and with having conducted himself in an ungentlemanly manner. All the reasons of her prejudice towards Darcy were shown in no other. However, after reading the letter sent to clear himself by Mr.Darcy, Elizabeth came to acknowledge the truth of Mr Darcy\'s aertions.Later, Elizabeth realized what a kind, amiable and considerate person Mr.Darcy was little by little.

While facing the unreasonable order from Lady Catherine de Bourgh of never marrying her nephew, Elizabeth refused to low her head, believing that everyone had right to chase their own happine. However, lady Catherine believed her to be too low born for her nephew, Mr Darcy, upon hearing this, realized that Elizabeth\'s opinion of him may have changed and again proposes. We are never too surprised to find that the elegant noble lady Catherine who represented the highest cla of Britain was so arrogant under such a mammonish society.

But the combination of Darcy and Elizabeth proved that after so many generations living in such a material society and being told forever marrying to money and fame, the true love from the heart

and soul has not perished from the earth.

Some Thoughts of Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice, in my memory, is the first foreign novel I have seen.It leads me to read more foreign works, broaden my vision, deepen my recognition and lets me have a new

understanding of love and marriage.

Jane Austin, the “Most Perfect Female Artist”, the author of the Pride and Prejudice, with her female\'s unique meticulous observation, represented a truthful picture of their little world around themselves, especially the marriage and the love storm between the gentleman and the lady. The style of her work is easy, humorous, and imbued with comic conflict. Thus, her works are popular with readers all around the world.Pride and Prejudice is a claic one of those.

\"Pride and Prejudice\" is one of the most famous masterpieces written by Jane Austin, which was first published in January 1813.Jan Fergus calls it \"her most popular novel, both with the public and with her family and friends\".It has become one of the most popular novels in English literature. In 2003, the BBC conducted the largest ever poll for the \"UK\'s Best-Loved Book\" in which Pride and Prejudice came second, behind The Lord of the Rings.

What’s more, looking at Jane Austin’s novels, we find that irony is the key stone which supports her art building. In Pride and Prejudice, I think, irony is one of the most fascinating characteristics appealing to readers.Meanwhile, in the history of English literature, it was the one which comprehensively discued the situation and problems of the women status, claiming that women independent personality, equal right, and putting up that the female consciousne and thoughts is progreing with the developmentof the society for the first time.

The great work not only attracted a large number of readers at that time, but also has a great many fans now because it providesthe readers with unique artistic taste of relaxation and comedy by using the irony and her witty humor, and retains a fascination for modern readers, though the story is set at the turn of the 19th century.

In my opinion, the plot of the novel is driven by the particular situation of the Bennet family that Mr and Mrs Bennet have no sons and have only five daughters, which worries Mrs Bennet that she and her daughters have to leave home and have no income if Mr Bennet dies accidently.

The character in this work imprees me deeply is its female leading role, Elizabeth Bennet, later Elizabeth Darcy.Elizabeth is the second of five daughters of her father, a country gentleman, living near the fictional town of Meryton in Hertfordshire, near London. She is intelligent, lively, attractive, and witty. Her bravery and intelligence leads her to dare to challenge the secular, dare to pursue her love, and dare to refuse the person who offends her although that person is so good.As we all know that nobody is perfect, Eliza has a tendency to judge someone on first impreion and perhaps would be a little selective of the evidence upon which she bases her judgments.

The sentences I like most are “Marriage should not be driven by thoughts of money” and “Only deep love will persuade me to marry”, a dialogue between her sister Jane and Elizabeth.I think it is not only her vision of love, but also the author’s.

Moreover, Jane portrays four different types of love and marriage with a witty and humorous language in the work.Among them, the marriage between Elizabeth the hoste and Darcy the host is the most succeful one. It’s also the perfect pattern of love and marriage that Jane Austen had dreamed of in her entire life.In her eyes, according to what I understand, a happy marriage should be combined with material, morality, sense and sensibility. All of them constitute perfect love and marriage.

This perspective until today has high value.Synchronizing with the development of society, more and more love is just established in money and lust, not the pure love. This book shows the author Jane Austin’s pure mind.

Here, I sincerely recommend you to read this book. The book is really giving us a baptism of the soul and lets us catch a glimpse of the real and pure love and marriage.

Pride and Prejudice

Introduction:

As we all know , Pride and Prejudice is one of Jane Ausen’s representative works .This book is considered as the treasure of the world liberary and is one of the world’s ten great claics .The author, Jane Austen, was a British novelist who was born in a small country town. Her father was a local vicar.Austin didn\'t go to regular schools, but she read many literary works at her parents\' guidance. She started writing about the age of 20, and published six novels.Jane was unmarried all her life. For living in a small country town, contacting the medium and small landlords, pastor as well as their quiet and comfortable living environment, there were no significant social contradictions in her works. She described a truthful picture of her world, especially the marriage and love between gentleman and ladies by her meticulous feminine observation. The style of her works is humorous and rich in comic conflicts, so many readers love them. From the late eighteenth to the nineteenth century, vulgar and boring sentimental novels and gothic novels were full in British literary. But Jane’s novel iconoclastic showed mid-cla of daily life and pastoral scenery in British countryside at that time which had not been capitalist industrial revolution impacted,.Although the breadth and depth of the reflection was limited, it played good effect to change the vulgar atmosphere in novels.Summary:

Why is it called pride and prejudice? Elizabeth and Darcy’s story can explain.Darcy loved Elizabeth at first sight at the ball. But the arrogant character caused by the growing environment stopped his initiatively close to Elizabeth.Elizabeth as anyone else believed he is haughty and stubborn. The more Darcy loved Elizabeth, the more he would not shown on the surface instead of making apathy. He thought if Elizabeth would be proud after knowing he loved her, so his character of pride stopped this happening.Elizabeth prejudiced against Darcy deeper and deeper. In her eyes, he even became a sinister, hypocritical people. As Darcy more loved Elizabeth, he finally was unable to restrain to show his love to Elizabeth. He certainly thought Elizabeth would accept, but he didn\'t know how about his image in Elizabeth’s eyes.So he was surprised when Elizabeth refused him.His arrogance had suffered

a blow. But from then on, they began to candid exchange, then misunderstandings gradually eliminated.Later, inadvertently knowing that Darcy properly handled her sister Lydia and Wick ham’s elopement, Elizabeth’s attitude changed.Darcy was not arrogant as others thought. After Elizabeth’s rejection,he began to reflect on the self-examination and treated people with more populist. Finally, regardle of his aunt’s strong objection and concept of family, Darcy proposed to Elizabeth again.Elizabeth willingly consented. She began to appear her lively side to Darcy.

Comments:

In this great book , the author amply demonstrates her point love and marriage .But they have great background .At that time , according to the social conditions in Britain , a good marriage for a young woman was critical .This phenomenon was closely aociated with the British society and the status of women in the society .In the 19th century , women were not well respected compared with the ones in the present society .There was no equality between woman and man .Women were considered to be inferior to men in terms of intelligence and capacity .The central life of women was force d to be staying at home , their roles were to deal with the family affairs , such as taking care of the children and serving for the husband .

Pride and prejudice are our common weakne and shortcomings.Every person is easy to be d riven by his own subjective impreion. So it can comment easily to other people under incorrectne, then it will cause misunderstandings between each ..A person’s first impreion can affect many things. Not he must change, but you should more deeply know about him, then you will have more objective opinion, just the heroine\'s opinion of darcy in the novel changed because off knowing the people in the world no longer have pr id e and prejudice these two bad behavior customs, this world will more harmonious and friendly.

As far as I considered, people can’t divide people by rich and poor.Everyone is equal on every aspect such as character and knowledge. No one can be arrogant because of wealthine or high status, and also can\'t be self-abased with economic poverty. This truth relating to our daily l we should not be proud or produce arrogance mood when we make a few achievements,.Learning is endle. We should know that there must be many people clever than ourselves. We must think out a way to study better than others. The vanity is caused by

prejudice in the text. One cannot distinguish good and bad just because the beautiful and ugly appearance.Elizabeth hated Darcy because of Darcy\'s arrogance generating by wealth and Wacke r \'s rumors.A person’s first impreion can affect many things. Not he must change, but you should more deeply know about him, then you will have more objective opinion, just be the heroine\'s opinion of Darcy in changed because of knowing.the people in the world no longer have pride and prejudice these two bad behavior customs, this world will more harmonious and friendly.

After finishing reading this novel , I learned a lot of it .First , we can not have prejudice against someone blindly .To understand a people , you can not only through other’s expreion about him , you must perceive reality by yourself .Second , it’s wrong to get married for the property , money and position , true love is beyond such factors .The last aspect , when we realize the mistake we make , we must acknowledge is bravely and immediately , then make it for the better .

Impreions of Pride and Prejudice

I’ve read a book called Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen during this winter holidays.Jane Austen was unmarried all her life. She was born in a mid-cla family and was brought up in a comfortable environment with harmonious surroundings, so there’s not too many conflicts in her sight neither in her novel. In Pride and Prejudice she talked different ideas about love and marriage through different characters. The novel has told an interesting story: Mr.Bennet is an English gentleman with an estate in Hertfordshire. He has five unmarried daughters but no sons while his inheritance must be inherited by a male, so Mrs.Bennet has been keen to seek husband for her daughters with great enthusiasm. One day the Bennets had a new neighbor called Bingley who was a wealthy bachelor and followed be the target of Mrs.Bennet.At a ball Bingley fell in love with Jane Bennet who’s the oldest daughter of the Bennets.Bingley’s friend Darcy also came to the ball and struck the sights, many girls liked him while he thought all of them couldn’t suit his preference, including Elizabeth.Mr.Darcy always shows others a impreion

of pride, having found this Elizabeth began to hate Mr.Darcy.Before long Darcy fell in love with Elizabeth Bennett(second oldest daughter in the Bennets) because of her lovely behavior, while Elizabeth is disgusted by his pride and has a prejudice about him.The official Wickham was welcomed by the villagers, and Elizabeth also took a shine to him.Wickham told Elizabeth that his father had been the steward of the Darcys. The old Darcy had regarded Wickham as his own son and showed more love to him than to Mr.Darcy.After the old Darcy died, the property should be inherited by Wickham was all deprived by Mr.Darcy, also was his pastorate. All this increased Eli’s prejudice about Mr.Darcy.At another ball Mr.Darcy invited Elizabeth to dance with him, but Eli refused him.Eli’s elder male cousin Mr.Collin came to Hertfordshire to inherit the Bennett\'s property by rules, he wanted to marry with one of the Bennets.Having known that Jane was already engaged with Mr.Bingley, he asked Elizabeth to marry him but was seriously rejected. At last he proposed to Charllote who was Eli’s friend.Mr.Collins was good at flattering and he got the pastorate with the help of Lady Catherine.Once his

family was invited to Rosings Garden by Lady Catherine.Elizabeth also went there with Mr.Collin and Charllote. There she met Mr.Darcy who’s Lady Catherine’s nephew.Later in a garden, Sir William told Eli about Mr.Darcy’s latest act of diuading Mr.Bingley’s marring Jane Bennet which caused Eli’s exceedingly anger. Then Mr.Darcy came to the Collins’ and confeed his love for Elizabeth, of course he was rejected impolitely.Afterwards Mr.Darcy wrote a letter to Eli in order to remove her misunderstandings of him.Elizabeth’s uncle and aunt were also impreed by Mr.Darcy’s politene.Gradually Eli’s prejudice of Mr.Darcy diappeared.Eventually they became couple. The writer Jane Austen disclosed mid-cla young ladies’ different ideas of marriage and love through describing the different ways in which the Bennet girls doing with their marriage problems ,and this undoubtedly shows the writer’s idea about love and marriage: it’s wrong to get married just for property, wealth and status while neither would it be without caring about those elements.Jane Austen just attached great significance to marriage through her novel by telling people that marriage should

be regarded carefully cause it is not a game you could just enjoy without prudent consideration. She also wanted to deliver information that marriage should be based on real love between the lovers. The female subject Elizabeth is a mid-cla girl, and Darcy proposed to her regardle of the gap between them, but Elizabeth refused because of his pride had formed Eli’s prejudice.Cause Darcy’s pride was a suggest of status gap between he and Eli, he wouldn’t have the same thought with Eli and consequently the ideal marriage. But later Darcy’s doings especially his change of the prideful manner eliminated Eli’s misunderstandings and prejudice about him, and Eli accepted his proposal. Those two opposite attitudes reflect female’s pursue of independent personality and equality.I think Elizabeth has personality ethic which caused her independent idea about love and marriage and in consequence she earned a happy life. There’re also Eli’s sisters’ love stories served as contrasts to the female subject’s ideal marriage, such as Charlotte and Collin’s life: they do had a luxury life, but there’s no real love between them and this kind of marriage is

surely a tragedy of society.

Kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, Lydia.Lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate. When I read the book, I can always find the same personalities in the society now. That is why I think this book is indeed the representative of the society in Britain in the 18th century.

The family of gentleman in the countryside is Jane Austen’s favourite topic. But this little topic can reflect big problems. It concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in Britain in her century. You can find these from the very beginning of this book.

The first sentence in this book is impreive. It reads: “It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in poeion of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”.The undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but poeion.

people always think that Austen was an expert at telling love stories. In fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. After reading this book, I know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man.

I couldn’t forget how eager Mrs.Bennet wants to marry off her daughters. Thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many poeions.Jane Austen told us that

money and poeion determined everything, including marriage and love in her century.

The society, the relatives would not allow them to get married.

In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind.A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages.Education background, poeions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage.Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We can’t help thinking: can money determine everything?

Austen left this problem for us to think.

第11篇:傲慢与偏见英文读后感

After a term’s reading, I finished ten more books, however, what impreed me most is Jane Austen and her two claical books.

In China maybe we all know LiQingzhao, a great female poet whose poetry are full of the emotions from the bottom of her heart. However, in England the figure maybe is my most admirable authore Mi Austen who can never have too many respects from the common people just like me.After read her two masterpieces of books Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, I feel so proud of being female to see a world-famous authore using her independent thoughts, humor words to show us the relationship between the so-called superiors and the lower-cla.

At that time, neither in the east nor in the west, it is not so easy for a woman to become a great figure with literary reputation. In China Li made it, while in England Mi Austen with her unique characteristic also realized her dream after a long struggle with the temporal points. It seems that all in Jane’s life, she made a decision between sense and sensibility; once there was an old saying “Affection is desirable, money is absolutely indispensable.” She resolutely chose her true love but not a splendid life or a comfortable home, what a pity she can not marry the one she did not really love even a beloved one, in her short life, she finished six famous books with her heart and soul but never married and stayed single for ever.

When reading Pride and Prejudice, I wondered why the oldest sister in the Bennet family also was named Jane, is there any poibility Jane Bennet is the soul of Mi Austen; and Mi Austen expected to realize all the pity which can not come true in her real life, so Jane Bennet was pictured as prefect as poible to be the best of the five sisters.

It’s a claical book with abundant description of everyone’s inner heart, especially the changes in their hearts. It can never deserve too many analyses for it was so wonderfully worked. One can say anything but ordinary to show our respects and admiration.

The man said“I do not have that talent of conversing easily with people I have never met before.” The woman said“We all don’t know him.” The book is full of the man’s pride and the woman’s prejudice in its lines and words.

From his pride we can see his confidence and persistence; whereas from his pride we can’t see his kindne and gentlene which he hid behind the surface.

From her prejudice we can see her firmne and treason; whereas from her prejudice we can’t see her expectation and worries which she hid behind the surface.

So it gave us a beginning of the story of pride and prejudice and led us to Mi Austen’s emotion world. So wonderful a book, so claical a story, so prefect a happy ending made it never a problem whether his pride or her prejudice counted, because of love, all can be neglected.

In the book once the proud Mr Dracy talked about the traits an accomplished woman must have, it needed a thorough knowledge of music, singing, dancing, drawing and modern languages, and besides this, a certain something in her manner of walking, in her voice and her behaviour. What’s more, something more solid, the improvement of her mind by wide reading. It could never be too strict for a common woman to follow.

About the attitudes to the marriage, Charles Dickens in the Oliver Twist also showed us the opinions of that day, he said if a man has ambitions to enter politics, then he marries a woman with a stain on her name, over though it’s not her fault, it might spoil his chances of succe in his life.()The society is cruel, people might use the knowledge of his wife’s doubtful birth against him, and against his children, too.And one day, he might begin to regret his marriage.

But love is so great that nothing can conquer it, and in the Pride and Prejudice we see the type of claical love, if we say in the realization we are so sorry to see the over more interest lead us to forget what love is, what a pity when love is not so pure as it should be, what a pity when love is used as a medium of exchange.

To my happine the books inflected Mi Austen’s marriage view, it is wrong to get married for property, money and states. She objects to getting married for money and regarding the marriage as a trifling matter. She also points that the man and the woman’s emotion is the foundation of an ideal marriage.

After reading it, I feel that I just want to turn Elizabeth who is ordinary but with special beauty, brave but with a little stubborn, though she is not a prefect woman our eyes, she does be a woman with prefect disadvantages. To the hero Mr Dracy, I feel that I just want to marry a gentleman like Mr Dracy who always puts his love deep in his heart, till the day he made sure that Elizabeth was the one he wanted to spend the rest time of the live.Under the handsome and gentle; proud and serious face, there was a kind heart full of love.

Pride is just like a piece of beautiful clothes which is luxurious and untouchable. However, the expense of pride is loneline.Prejudice is just like the clouds floating in the sky with its freedom. However, the expense of prejudice is lost.

What I learnt from the books and Jane Austen is deeply printed in my mind and I should never forget Elizabeth and Mr Dracy’s prefect love story, they usefully influenced each other. His mind might have been softened and his manners improved by her sociability, and she might have learnt from his greater judgment and knowledge of the world.Just like a fairy tale, the price and prince have a happy live together, which I am looking forward.

The comment of \"Pride and prejudice\"

Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by the famous English writer, Jane Austen, who was the sixth children in a family of seven and was born in the village of steventon in Hampshire in 1775 and died of Addison’s disease in 1817.

Sir Walter Scott 评论

READ again, and for the third time at least, Mi Austen\'s very finely written novel of \"Pride and Prejudice.\" That young lady has a talent for describing the involvements and feelings and characters of ordinary life which is to me the most wonderful I ever met with. The big bow-wow strain I can do myself like any now going; but the exquisite touch, which renders ordinary commonplace things and characters interesting, from the truth of the description and the sentiment, is denied to me.—From \"The Journal of Sir Walter Scott,\" March, 1826.

We bestow no mean compliment upon the author of \"Emma\" when we say that keeping close to common incidents, and to such characters as occupy the ordinary walks of life, she has produced sketches of such spirit and originality that we never mi the excitation which depends upon a narrative of uncommon events, arising from the consideration of minds, manners, and sentiments, greatly above our own.In this cla she stands almost alone; for the scenes of Mi Edgeworth are laid in higher life, varied by more romantic incident, and by her remarkable power of embodying and illustrating national character. But the author of \"Emma\" confines herself chiefly to the middling claes of society; her most distinguished characters do not rise greatly above well-bred country gentlemen and ladies; and those which are sketched with most originality and precision, belong to a cla rather below that standard. The narrative of all her novels is composed of such common occurrences as may have fallen under the observation of most folks; and her dramatis personæ conduct themselves upon the motives and principles which the readers may recognize as ruling their own, and that of most of their own acquaintances.—From \"The Quarterly Review,\" October, 1815.

Lord Macaulay 评论

SHAKESPEARE has had neither equal nor second. But among the writers who, in the point which we have noticed, have approached nearest to the manner of the great master we have no hesitation in placing Jane Austen, a woman of whom England is justly proud. She has given us a multitude of characters, all, in a certain sense, commonplace, all such as we meet every day.Yet they are all as perfectly discriminated from each other as if they were the most eccentric of human beings. There are, for example, four clergymen, none of whom we should be surprised to find in any parsonage in the kingdom—Mr.Edward Ferrars, Mr.Henry Tilney, Mr.Edmund Bertram, and Mr.Elton.They are all specimens of the upper part of the middle cla. They have all been liberally educated. They all lie under the restraints of the same sacred profeion. They are all young. They are all in love. Not one of them has any hobby-horse, to use the phrase of Sterne. Not one has a ruling paion, such as we read of in Pope.Who would not have expected them to be insipid likenees of each other? No such thing.Harpagon is not more unlike to Jourdain, Joseph Surface is not more unlike to Sir Lucius O\'Trigger, than every one of Mi Austen\'s young divines to all his reverend brethren. And almost all this is done by touches so delicate that they elude analysis, that they defy the powers of description, and that we know them to exist only by the general effect to which they have contributed.—From eay on \"Madame D\'Arblay,\" 1843.

My point of view towards the masterpiece of Jane Austen’s is that this novel reflects the English human sentiment of the end of 18th century and the early of 19th century under the circumstance of conservative, and tells us the difference ways and attitudes to marriage of Mr.and Mrs.Bennet’s five daughters’.Thereby reveal the author herself attitude towards marriage, that is love and marriage based on money, property and social status is not perfect, but it is also stupid Without considering all of these. There, the author emphasize the importance of ideal marriage, meanwhile, to be opposed to love & marriage based on money or property and to be opposed to people’s laugh love & marriage off.The author takes the affection/love as the cornerstone of ideal marriage between male and female.Elizabeth as the leading character in this novel, was born in the family of squireen’s, and is loved by Darcy.Darcy propose marriage to her in spite of difference in the poeion of property and social status, but is refused by Elizabeth for his pride , the novel demonstrate that if the pride of Darcy’s existed , there will be no love and also happy marriage between Elizabeth and he, it is really nice that Elizabeth witne the changes of Darcy’s through series of behavior in the following days.viewing that he is no longer pride and then eliminating her prejudice to him, finally engaged with him and leading a happy marriage. The author described that female is in pursuit of independent personality and equal right through several different attitudes of Elizabeth for Darcy’s propose marriage.Meanwhile, demonstrate Elizabeth’s independent understanding for a happy marriage. In this article, the writer described several unperfect marriages of Elizabeth’s sisters and close friends, aimed at making a sharp contrast with Elizabeth’s beatific marriage and revealed that marriage without love but base on social status and property actually is a kind of public tragedies.Humorous, ironical, polished language and real storyline is also occurred in this article.

When Pride Encounters Prejudice, Everything is Different

—the report of Pride and Prejudice

张文莹 Nancy 外汉一班 0091114047

Ⅰ:

Jane Austen (16 December 1775 – 18 July 1817), one of the most famous novelists in Britain, was born in Hampshire. She lived in the villages throughout her life.Although there were 2 suitors, she never married. She finished her first novel when she was only 21 years old. This work’s name was First Impreions (After amending, it had a new name: Pride and Prejudice).

Ⅱ:

Pride and Prejudice is a humorous story of love and marriage.Mr.Bennet was an English gentleman living in Hertfordshire with his wife.He had five daughters: the beautiful Jane, the clever Elizabeth, the bookish Mary, the immature Kitty and the wild Lydia.Because of the law, after the death of Mr.Bennet, their house would be inherited by a distant cousin whom they have never met. This family\'s future happine and security dependent on the 5 daughters’ marriages. One day, a rich gentleman Mr.Bingley came and rented a large house in this country. His sisters and his best friend Mr.Darcy came together.Love was soon in the air for one of the 5 sisters, while another had a prejudice against Mr.Darcy.

Then they experienced many things, but at last, Mr.Bingley married the oldest sister Jane, and Elizabeth overcame the prejudice and married to Mr.Darcy.It’s a happy ending.

Ⅲ:

Although Mr.Song said the book report should be objective, but I had to say this book touched my heart deeply.

The women written by Jane Austen still live in our world.

Some like Charlotte Lucas, they choose a marriage without love just for money and a stable life.

Some like Lydia, they are so frivolous and foolish that they flatter themselves that they can do anything well.

Some like Mary, they are not good-looking but think themselves are the best ones. They look down every man while they are eager for a man’s love in their hearts.

Some like Jane, they are kind and beautiful, but they are also reserved and feminine。They don’t have courage to fight for the love of their own but wait here in vain.

And there are also some girls like innocent Ms Darcy or like vainglorious and superficially clever Bingley sisters.

Of course, some girls like Elizabeth, they are clever, gentle, open-minded, and they know their own hearts. They never give in even facing a difficult situation.1

They are good ladies who are worth loving and cherishing.

Jane Austen’s wisdom always appeals to me, which makes me smile through the whole reading.

In fact, the life of Jane Austen was unremarkable, she nearly didn’t leave the villages where she lived. Therefore, in her books, you can’t find any historical plots or any abstruse things making you feel bored. She just wrote some common people about their happine, little trouble, sorrow and perplexity again and again by her keen observation and her outstanding ability of writing.Although those stories happened in the villages of Britain 200 years ago, they are vivid today.Maybe she was not really a great writer in the world, but she is the cleverest and cutest woman in my heart. However, reality is not the novel. It is always cruel.Jane Austen never married throughout her life, her best friend was her sister. She was such a clever and naughty girl, whose gentlene and beauty were ignored. It’s a pity that there was no one like Mr.Darcy to appreciate and love her.

Jane Austen and Eileen Chang were very like.Their works had many things in common. For example, both of their works focused on the life which they were familiar with, and they both had the sharp observation.Although they liked to write some satires, Austen was gentler than Eileen Chang.

In Pride and Prejudice, you can find some very interesting dialogues.Such as in the CHAPTER 1, Mrs.Bonnet said: “Mr.Bennet, how can you abuse your own children in such a way? You take delight in vexing me.You have no compaion on my poor nerves.” “You mistake me, my dear.I have a high respect for your nerves. They are my old friends.I have heard you mention them with consideration these 20 years at least.” the Mr.Bennet answered with a forced smile.

What sarcastic humor it contained! She succefully depicted Mrs.Bennet as a woman of mean understanding, little information, and uncertain temper by few words. And the two of them left a deep and clear imprison on the readers.

Love is the eternal theme of novels.Pride and Prejudice was no exception, but it not only talked about “love”, also mentioned “marriage”.The novels about love or marriage are countle in the world. So standing out among them is not an easy thing.Pride and Prejudice can be one of the masterpieces and be loved by thousands upon thousands people from different countries, which proves that it does have its special glamour.

I mainly want to talk about Elizabeth’s 2 rejections. As readers or outsiders,we can easily reject anyone and don’t accept a marriage without love just for respecting our own hearts. But if you think it over and read the book again, you will find it needs great courage to reject a man who can support you a life without worrying about clothes and food.Rejecting her cousin Mr.Collins, an unpleasant person, seemed easy, however, her best friend Charlotte chose to marry him. This contrast shows very clearly that this rejection is difficult for a woman in those days.

Maybe you can find some reasons to explain why Elizabeth did that to Mr.Collins, but I’m sure there is no reason to refuse Mr.Darcy’s marriage proposal. He was such a perfect gentleman! Elizabeth couldn’t inherit her father’s fortune, which meant she had to marry a rich man to support her and live a comfortable life. But faced with Mr.Darcy, she said “no” without any hesitation. When Darcy proposed to her by saying his sense of her inferiority-of its being a degradation-of the family obstacles which judgment had always opposed to inclination.Elizabeth said: “It is nature that obligation should be felt, and if I could feel gratitude, I would now thank you.But I cannot —I have never desired your good opinion, and you have certainly bestowed it most unwillingly.”

I like this self-respecting girl and look down upon those girls who give in just for fortune, fame, even some petty profits

In fact, I don’t like a happy ending.I think a tragedy is more attractive and can reach the deepest part of my heart while a comedy is read just for relaxation. But I am also moved by this story.Pride gave way to sincerity, prejudice was replaced by love. They lived a happy life together.

We can image that they sat on the lakeside bench at twilight and talked about that green years when the pride met the prejudice。

第14篇:傲慢与偏见英文概括

Pride and prejudice story shows the British society\'s life in that time by describing the marriage problem. It is mainly describe the love story of Bennet ’s several daughters Mr.Bingley is newly from London and fall in love with the big daughter , Jan ,who is gentel and beautiful , his friend Darcy is sweet upon the second daughter Elizabeth. For some reasons prejudiced Elizabeth against Darcy , their marriage moves slowly .After a range of interesting troubles, the misunderstanding is finally removed .With Darcy overcomes his pride , and Elizabeth her prejudice ,they get together with each other finally .Through the describing of different marriage , Austin exprees her opinions of the marriage which is insist on the understanding to each other .To a certain extent , this novel is also reflectes the wish and ideal on the marriage independently for women in that time.

第15篇:傲慢与偏见英文观后感

Pride and Prejudice is a famous movie. After seeing it I think it is really a interesting film.Elizabeth was the heroine of the story. She was beautiful, strong-minded, and kind-hearted.But I prefer the hero, Darcy.Darcy was handsome, rich but unsocial. When he first saw Elizabeth on the ball, he was soon absorbed by Elizabeth’s eyes, and he fell in love with her.But his proud appearance and farouche talk hurt Elizabeth and caused her prejudice to him.Darcy\'s pride causes him to look down on those who are in a lower social cla, due to his mentality that he supersedes those who are not within his social circle.Given that Elizabeth Bennet is of a lower cla than Darcy, this places immediate restrictions to their relationship.Elizabeth also displays significant pride.

As time went by, all the ups and downs made Elizabeth more prejudiced against Darcy. When Darcy proposed to her, Elizabeth rejected it at once without any hesitation.Poor Darcy didn’t give up, he tried to clear the atmosphere and help her family out from the scandal. Finally, the misunderstanding was gone, they got together happily.Right that moment, none of a word could expre my feeling.I never imagined that such kind of love could exist under such extreme pride and prejudice.I almost believed that the story would be true and it had ever happened somewhere sometime. There, people sang and danced and something sweetly changed without being noticed.

From their love story I realize that it’s stupid to judge a person just by the first impreion and always have prejudice on the person who you dislike, and pride sometimes will make you far away from the people. From the story, we can see, because Darcy’s proud, he offended the girl he loved, and because of the prejudice, Elizabeth was failed to see the merits of Darcy, but fortunately, they didn’t mi each other finally.Their love was romantic and also realistic.

The marriage of Charlotte Lucas and Mr.Collins represented most of the marriages at that time. Most women and men got married for money and power. The marriage had nothing to do with love. The wives were regarded as the beautiful vases for decoration. The husbands took the “vases” with them to the social occasion everyday while thinking about their career advancement in their heart and never cared about the feelings of the “vases”.And what caused this? The eential reason was the low social position of the women.Even the ladies in the upper cla only played the role of a housewife. And this kind of marriage is surely a tragedy of society. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people\'s mind.A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children\'s marriages.Education background, poeions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage.Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We can’t help thinking: can money determine everything? From my opinion, I do not agree with this view.I think I can only get married because of love, and I\'ll never choose this kind of marriage under any situations.

第16篇:《傲慢与偏见》英文读后感

The abbreviation of the novel.

This is a story happening in a Bennet.Mr.Bennet, a countryside gentleman in England, had no sons but five girls.According to the law, the girls in Bennet’s could not inherit their father’s fortune but could only get 5,000 pounds as dowry and the poeion was to be inherited by Mr.Bennet’s nephew, Collins,square-toes and good at flattering flattery. So, how to help them marry a rich gentleman was the top agenda to Mrs.Bennet.And when Collins wanted to propose one of the girls in Bennet’ and he chose Elizabeth, for the eldest but most beautiful girl, Jane, was not available.Elizabeth refused him and he proposed her close friend, Charlotte .Although Charlotte did not like Collins, she married him for she was already 27.As for Jane, she met a handsome young man with a plenty of money named Mr.Bingley.They felt in love at first sight at a ball.Mr.Bingley showed great paion on Jane, while Jane did not though she did love him.Mr.Darcy, a very good friend of Mr.Bingley, was also a wealthy and attracted young man.At that ball,at first Mr.Darcy was very pride and prejudice to Elizabeth, but after dancing with her ,he felt in love with her.But Elizabeth did not like him because of his air.And Elizabeth treated Mr.Darcy worse because he persuaded Mr.Bingley to give up her sister, Jane.So at the first time when Mr.Darcy proposed, she refused.Lydia, Elizabeth another sister, was too young and innocent to tell a delusion and ran away with a young and handsome military officer,

Wickham, who actually was a gambling addicts and had a numerous debt. When Mr.Darcy paid Wickham a lot of money to get Lydia a complete marriage, and managed to make Jane and Mr.Bingley get together, Elizabeth did not misunderstand him anymore and accepted his second proposal.

Appreciation

‘It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in poeion of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.’ The first sentence in the novel and sets the ground and tone for the novel.During that time some people were timeservers and flatters ,hypocritical and stupid, like Mr.s Bennet, while some were smart and independent, like Elizabeth. And this conflict makes the whole story full of humorousne and irony, and the readers think more beyond the lines, making the author outstanding at her age.Apart from that, Jane Austin’s concept of marriage, which we can refer from the lines, is totally different from the convention and has been attracted by the readers over the years.I think, there are two points in her new concept. The first one is that a marriage does need a monetary foundation but more importantly should be built on true love and self esteem. At that time a woman was supposed to marry a rich man although she did not like that man.So that’s why Mrs.Bennet asked Elizabeth to marry Collins. But Elizabeth refused for she did not like him. However, her friend Charlotte chose to married him because

Charlotte was too old to care about too much although Charlotte was also an acknowledged lady and could not regardle the convention. Therefore,in the author’s eyes, their marriage would not last for long because it was not built on love. So, the marriage, like Elizabeth and Mr.Darcy’s, should be encouraged, and we should be negative about marriage, only built on money, like Collins and Charlotte’s, Lydia and Wickham’s.The second is that women and men should be equal. From Elizabeth turning down Collins and Mr.Darcy,we can see that, in author’s mind, a marriage should not be decided by the man but both ,and women are not the acceories of men’s but should be independent, having their own feelings, voice and decisions. And this can reflect some ideas about Jane Austin’s feminism, which also has made her distinguish for years.I think this is also suitable for today.Women, having more power than ever, should be more independent not only in marriage but also in the society.

第17篇:傲慢与偏见英文读后感

Elizabeth refused Darcy’s first proposal because of the man’s arrogance and her own prejudice against the man. After a series of sufferings, they know each other more and better and finally got married.

The story indicates that the author’s prospect of marriage has nothing to do with poeion and power, while it attaches much importance to love.As a wise and reasonable woman, Elizabeth also exprees her pursuit of equality and freedom, which attracts me most deeply in the film.It is her independent opinion on marriage that makes her lead a happy life with Darcy.Every woman is supposed to bravely expre their own pursuits of love, career and the things they want instead of just putting up with something arranged.

第18篇:傲慢与偏见英文读书笔记

Reading Notes of Pride and Prejudice

“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in poeion of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” This beginning sentence of the book seems to tell us the main story of the book is about the marriage of rich men.The heroine of the book is Elizabeth and at the chapter One, we are told that the father Mr.Bennet prefers Elizabeth among his daughters, in this case, Elizabeth must be a girl who is more special and intelligent.

The story is about love and marriage.Charlotte married Collins because his fortune and she feels nervous about her age even the man is so old-fashioned and ingratiating. However, their marriage is about money and they do not get the real happy. The other man Wickham is a handsome but a man who is a liar.He lies to Elizabeth to gain her appreciation. And his love with Lydia is shallow and about appearance. The love of Jane and Bingley has a better ending. They have love in the relationship and appreciate each other because of the deeper virtue. But they do come through a lot because the misunderstanding they had before.

The love of Elizabeth and the hero of the book Darcy responses the title Pride and Prejudice. In the eye of Elizabeth, Darcy is no doubt pride and arrogant.Darcy falls in love with Elizabeth and proposes marriage to her, but he is still very arrogant so Elizabeth refuses him directly.Darcy

feels hard hit and regrets of being arrogant. However, Elizabeth has a prejudice about Darcy at the very beginning and mistaken believes in Wickham but she finally knows the truth and feels shame of her family.Darcy moves Elizabeth with his pleasant virtue in the end.

第19篇:傲慢与偏见英文观后感

Pride and Prejudice

As we all know that, nowadays ladies want to marry gentlemen who are ‘high, wealthy and handsome,’ and almost all gentlemen like ‘white, wealthy and beautiful’ women. It seems that appearance and poeions have decided marriage to some extent. However, I do believe that we can learn a lot from Pride and Prejudice.

The first sentence in the movie reads, ‘A truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in poeion of a large fortune must in need of a wife.\" It reflects the social phenomenon at that time.Mi Bennet was eager to marry her five daughters to rich men. However, the sister of Mr.Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennet don’t have many poeions and their social positions are much lower than them.Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s poeions.Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in poeion of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. We can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many poeions.

True love seems very fragile and lovers have to face a lot preure from their families. The difference in social status can be a big barrier keeping lovers away from each other.Only by appreciating the marriage founded on the basis of mutual understanding and true love, can a couple

live a happy life.Elizabeth and Darcy tried so hard to persuade their families and shatter the stereotypes.Eventually, they became a couple and lead a happy life from then on.

From their wonderful marriage, we can conclude that it’s true love that matters most. For all the girls, their boyfriends may not be the richest guys in the world, but as long as they really care for us and we love each other, they can marry in the future.Sometimes, beautiful appearance and wealth may blind our eyes, I think it’s high time that we should think over love and make an important choice.

The movie really imprees me a lot.Love is everything, and nothing can prevent true love.In such a society where every is pursuing for a large amount of wealth and good appearance, I think we really need to calm down.

Ⅳ.Thoughts

My point of view towards the masterpiece of Jane Austen’s is that this novel reflects the English human sentiment of the end of 18thcentury and the early of 19th century under the circumstance of conservative, and tells us the difference ways and attitudes to marriage of Mr.and Mrs.Bennet’s five daughters’.Thereby reveal the author herself attitude towards marriage, that is love and marriage based on money, property and social status is not perfect, but it is also stupid Without considering all of these. There, the author emphasize the importance of ideal marriage, meanwhile, to be opposed to love & marriage based on money or property and to be opposed to people’s laugh love & marriage off.The author takes the affection/love as the cornerstone of ideal marriagebetween male and female.Elizabeth as the leading character in this novel, was born in the family of squireen’s, and is loved by Darcy.Darcy propose marriage to her in spite of difference in the poeion of property and social status, but is refused by Elizabeth for his pride , the novel demonstrate that if the pride of Darcy’s existed , there will be no love and also happy marriage between Elizabeth and he, it is really nice that Elizabeth witne the changes of Darcy’s

through series of behavior in the following days.viewing that he is no longer pride and then eliminating her prejudice to him, finally engaged with him and leading a happy marriage. The author described that female is in pursuit ofindependent personality and equal right through several different attitudes of Elizabeth for Darcy’s propose marriage.Meanwhile, demonstrate Elizabeth’s independent understanding for a happy marriage. In this article, the writer described several unperfect marriages of Elizabeth’s sisters and close friends, aimed at making a sharp contrast with Elizabeth’sbeatific marriage and revealed that marriage without love but base on social status and property actually is a kind of public tragedies.Humorous, ironical, polished language and real storyline is also occurred in this article.
