Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an eay on happine by referring to the saying “Happine is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them.” You can cite examples to illustrate your point and then explain how you can develop your ability to deal with problems and be happy. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

Happine, as the saying has it, is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them.In other words, people can never be happy if they focus on their difficulties and challenges.Simple as the remark may sound, it conveys a thought-provoking notion that happine is a state of mind not an absence of problems.

First and foremost, it is well known that in order to be a strong individual, one needs obstacles to develop one’s strength, just like butterflies which struggle to be free of their cocoon in order for their wings to become strong enough to fly.Furthermore, just because people have a disadvantaged childhood, it does not mean they cannot be succeful.Steve Jobs is a case in point. He was abandoned by his biological parents and dropped out of university but still managed to change the world.

To conclude, as the saying goes “You cannot run away from your problems. There is not a place far enough away.” Consequently, it is advisable for everyone to have a positive attitude toward their problems if they really want to be happy.

For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an eay about the impact of information explosion by referring to the saying \"a wealth of information creates a poverty of attention\".You can cite examples to illustrate your point and then explain what you can do to avoid being distracted by irrelevant information? You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

Ways to Get Over Information Explosion

As a famous saying goes, “A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention”.Nowadays we are in the Information Age.Some people keep complaining about distraction by the information explosion.

Admittedly, the new information age has brought us so much convenience that we are allowed to get enough information just with a simple click sitting in front of the computers.Neverthele, we are also confused, annoyed, distracted and upset by an incredibly large quantity of information. For example, when searching for something online, people are easily carried away by irrelevant information and forget their original plan.Besides, some information often turns out to be usele and actually advertisement. Therefore, it can be time-consuming and troublesome to search information online.

Then what we can do to avoid being distracted by irrelevant information? Here I have some useful tips: Firstly, make a list of what you really want before your searching. This will help you to refuse some appealing, yet irrelevant information.Secondly, find some trustful and profeional sources or websites and then save and categorize them.In this case, you can easily leave some ads and usele information behind.

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an eay commenting on the remark “the greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.” You can give examples to illustrate your point and then explain what you will do to make your life more meaningful. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

How to Live a Meaning Life

Among all the highlighted topics, there is “how to live a meaning life?” Everyone has his or her own opinion. As the saying has it, “the greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.” I cannot agree any more.

If our life is just to pursue something for ourselves, we will surely feel fruitle and meaningle when we grow old. From Steve Jobs’s bibliography, we can get that the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.Steve Jobs has brought a great many changes to our world. His life, although short, definitely outlast. That’s a life worth living.

Therefore, if there is a way to make my life meaningful, it should be to find something I’m interested in and also helpful to others or the whole society.Only in this way can I keep my paion throughout my life until I finally fulfill my life.

There is an old saying that people never judge a book from its cover. From my point of view, this saying also applies to our attitudes towards others: never judge a person from their appearance.Because you never know one person’s true merits if only judging from their appearance. It is true that an attractive appearance is of great significance not only for daily life but also for the job. However, it is unwise to judge one person by the appearance for the following reasons. On the one hand, with the advancement of science technology and medical level, people can transform their surface by all means. On the other hand, the appearance should not be the merely criteria for judging an individual, considering that are more important factors, including Courteous, kind-hearted, honest and so on. In conclusion, it is unadvisable to judge a person by their appearance. That’s why I aert that we should pay more attention to one\'s inward and place high value on inner cultivation.

There is a Chinese saying goes like this: men cannot be judged by their looks.I cannot agree with this point of view any more. On the one hand, though a charming appearance will leave a good impreion on others, one’s look can seldom reflects his or her qualities, capacities and ethics. We cannot say those who are good-looking are more capable and more cultivated than those who are average-looking or ugly-looking.There are so many people who do not have good appearances have made great achievements for the progre of mankind, such as Stephen William Hawking who are even crippled. On the other hand, our appearances are decided by our genes, which are inborn, while our qualities can be cultivated as we grow.We can enrich our minds by learning, but which cannot be reflected on the appearances. To summarize, judging people by appearance is unwise. Therefore I suggest that we should focus on one’s inner world rather than their appearance.

In recent years, there has been a widely-held feeling towards evaluating a person on the basis of his/her appearance. On the surface, it may seem a sound idea, but on closer analysis we find it unscientific and unconvincing. There are numerous reasons for this argument, but I shall here explore only one of the most important ones. We can never judge a person by his/herexternal appearance because no one is able to gain a full appreciation of a person merely by it.One’s good impreion on others does not usually develop from the way one looks, but the inner qualities one poees. For example, the virtues of the Chinese people are regarded as beautiful, because they have helped to produce such a magnificent culture in the world. From what have been discued ablve, we may draw the conclusion that we should adopt appropriate standards to estimate persons, like their inner qualities or practical actions.

As old people always put it, \"Never judge a book by its cover.\" However, in most cases, we judge a person just by external appearances. For example, sometimes when we walk down the street at night, we choose to avoid people who are acting tough and loud.In this way we tend to make wrong decisions, because judging someone by appearance can be deceptive. In dairy life, we try to stay away from people who are called the \"bad guy\" because they dre a certain way.But we may mi an opportunity to make a good friend, because judgments based on external appearances prevent us from getting to really know a person. If we take the time to get to know the person, we might become friends. Therefore, in my opinion, judging people just by appearance is superficial and often unfair. After all, we don\'t know what circumstances the personmight be facing or who the person really is.Please embrace everyone you meet and not judge him just by appearances.

Part I Writing (30minutes) Directions:For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an eay commenting on thesaying \"Help others, and you will be helped when you are in need.\" You can cite examples toillustrate your views. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

Be Generous with Your Help

When it comes to the topic of help, we are frequently told that, \"Help others, and you will behelped when you are in need.\'\' Simple as the saying is, it implies the importance of helpingothers in need. What I learn from the remark, in short words, is that helping others is helpingyourself.Examples can easily be found to make this point clearer. The story of the ant and the dove is acase in point. An ant slipped into the river when drinking along the river.A dove heard his criesfor help and threw him a leaf, which helped the ant float back to the bank. After a few days, ahunter was raising his gun to the dove as she was building her nest.Seeing this, the ant ranquickly to bite the hunter\'s leg.The dove heard the hunter\'s scream and flew away. All in all, this example indicates that when we offer our help to others, we are leaving a wayopen for the future.Helping others is a virtue, and we should take some measures to carryforward this virtue and do others a favor.Only in this way can we build a loving andharmonious society.

Part IV Translation (30 minutes) Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to translate a paage from Chinese intoEnglish. You should write your answer on Answer Sheet 2.

Part IV Translation Dongting Lake is a large, shallow lake in northeastern Hunan province, China. It is a flood basinof the Yangtze River.Hence, the lake\'s size largely depends on the season. The provinces ofHubei and Hunan are named after their location relative to the lake.Hubei means \"North of theLake\" and Hunan, \"South of the Lake\".Dongting Lake is famous in Chinese culture as thebirthplace of dragon boat racing, which is said to have begun on the eastern shores ofDongting Lake as a search for the body of Qu Yuan, the Chu poet (340 -278 BC).Togetherwith the lake and its surrounding beauty, the racing appeals to thousands of tourists fromother parts of China and beyond each year.

Part I Writing (30 minutes) Directions: Suppose you are asked to give advice on whether to major in science or humanitiesat college, write an eay to state your opinion. You are required to write at least 150 wordsbut no more than 200 words.

Part Ⅰ Writing Whether to Major in Science or Humanities at College? Nowadays, as the whole society place increasingly considerable value on education, thequestion of whether to major in science or humanities at college is not only a concern forstudents, but also a focal point for parents. Some believe that to dig into science is a betterchoice because it promises us a brighter future; others may hold the opposite view thathumanity knowledge is the foundation of humanity quality. As for me, both arguments are justified. However, I believe that the important thing is notabout which subject is better, what matters most is people who will have to make the decision. In other words, we should not lay one-sided emphasis on the advantages of either subject; onthe contrary, the students themselves, their interests and preferences, pros and cons aresupposed to be taken into consideration. For example, if a student is more adept athumanity and that’s where his real interests lie, then he should dedicate to the study onhumanity.Whether to major in science or humanities is a critical choice for every student because itsresult has a profound influence on personal career development and life style. Thus we shouldfigure out what we really care about so as not to put the cart before the horse. Part IV Translation (30 minutes) Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to translate a paage from Chinese intoEnglish. You should write your answer on Answer Sheet 2.

The evolution of modem robot technology seems to be a mixed bleing.Optimists say that more robots will lead to greater productivity and economic growth, while peimists complain that we will experience the greatest unemployment crisis in human history. As for me, the world where robots substitute manual and mental labor is delightful rather than fearful. There is no doubt that human society is benefiting tremendously from robots. On the one hand, industrial robots can aist in carrying out dirty, dull and dangerous tasks while offering increased productivity and safety. On the other hand, domestic robots can provide household services, freeing human beings from the boredom of the daily chores. We aren\'t giving robots \"easy jobs\", but those that most of the time we aren\'t willing to do and even could never do.Without robots, these jobs would remain undone or be done inefficiently. In spite of the potential of machines to replace workers, technological progre has always eliminated some specific jobs. But in the meantime, it also has created new opportunities for human employment, at an even faster rate.Robots are very likely to permeate much of our daily life in the coming years, but it is not neceary to worry they will snatch jobs from us, because we will aign more challenging jobs to them.

“受西方服饰的影响”可以用分词作状语的结构 influenced by...,也可以处理成 due to the influence of...。 4.

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to reflect some problems I came acro recently and.appeal to the improvement of the service industry.

This weekend I bought an English-Chinese dictionary in a bookstore near my home since its cover is elaborately designed. But when I went home and read carefully, I found that the several pages of the dictionary have been cracked and befouled. What is worse, the misprints spread everywhere in the dictionary and seriously affect my comprehension.Since there was such damage and misprint to the dictionary, I went to the bookstore to require for a replace. But to my surprise, the staff of the bookstore turn down my request rudely and even denied the poor quality of the dictionary.

It goes without saying that today’s face-paced and market-oriented economy calls for much higher standard for service industry. However, to my regret, many of the commercials fail to achieve this standard and the quality of the staff needs to be improved. It’s self-evident that the poor quality of practitioners in the service industry will not only deeply disappoint customers but also

hamper the development of our country’s economy. As a result, I expect your newspaper to appeal to the service industry to attach more importance to the service improvement.

Thank you for your attention!

Reduce Waste on Campus

As is known to all, waste on campus has become a more and more serious problem. We can easily see many students dump a lot of food in the garbage can. Some students spend thousands of yuan buying fashionable clothes and so on.

The negative effects of waste can be shown in the following aspects. In the first place, it makes some students dependent on their parents for money, which is harmful to their development. If they don’t learn to support themselves, they will be “usele people” when they graduate. In the second place, it is not easy for our parents to arrange for our schooling.Last but not the least important, there is no denying the fact that our country is still poor. There are many people who cannot go to university and many poor people still need our help.As far as I am concerned, I should set a good example to reduce waste on campus.First of all, I will refrain from wasting anything, from food to stationery. What’s more, I’m determined to call on more schoolmates to fight against waste.Only through these measures can we hope to reduce waste on campus.

范文:

From the table based on a survey we made of the reading preferences of students in an American university in 2002, we learnt that, of all kinds of bookds, contemporary university students like ficitions best, which has 65.9 percent of book circulation in library while other kinds of books have low percentage: general nonfiction --18.2, science/technology/education-10.8,art/literature/poetry--5.1.

It suggests that contemporary students are much more easily influenced by the fashion than ever before.It\'s a reasonable and good phenomenon because it reveals that university students like to keep up with the development of society. Thus they will easily adapt themselves into the new life after they graduate from school.

Generally, I like reading nonfictions, for it is tightly connected with the reality. To some degree, it\'s no use reading too much fictions which sometimes will take you into fancy fantasy.Fast life pace also don\'t allow me to read books on art or poetry. To me, nonfiction is even helpful in analyzing society and humanity.

Changes of Ownership of Houses in China

范文:

Ownership of houses in China has changed greatly in the past decade. In the past, most houses were stateowned. But now, private houses are everywhere. As is shown in the chart above, in 1990, the city\'s houses were mainly state-owned, with a percentage of 75.This percentage became 60 in the year 1995 and then dropped sharply to 20 in 2000.At the same time, the number of private houses has soared up to 80 percent.

There are mainly two reasons that account for this rapid change.Firstly, the government has been forwarding the policy to support private houses programs. These programs have proved to be very important in developing China\'s economy.Secondly, with the development of economy, people\'s standard of living has risen. They want to have their own houses to satisfy their needs.

The change has enabled more people to enjoy larger living space. At the same time, people feel preure to make more money so that they can buy their own houses.

Although honesty is believed to be a virtue, there are still dishonest people in our society. For example, some businemen sell fake product to their consumers; some students cheat in the exams.

Dishonest people are short-sighted.Those who sell fake products may make money at first, but consumers won’t buy their products any more.As a result, they will lose their fortune or even be sent to prison.By contrast, honest people gain a lot.

Those who always tell truth or keep to their promise not only let others trust them but gain respect from other people as well.Such persons are sure to have a lot of good friends.Because they are trustable and respectable, everyone is eager to make friends with them, Besides, it is easier for a person with a good record to get a good job.Generally speaking, every employer wants his employees to be honest. So we can say that anyone who is honest will be paid back later.

January 12th, 2002

Dear Mr.President,

I’m very lucky to attend this world-famous university, but I’m afraid I’m not content with the canteen service on campus.

Firstly, the quality of the dishes should be improved.Undoubtedly, there are a lot of delicious dishes, but all the year round, they are the same.More and more students are complaining about eating the same food each day.So I think the most urgent problem is variety.

Secondly, the price is a bit too high. Many of us hope that the canteen can provide us with not only delicious but also cheaper food.

Finally, the environment is so noisy that we can’t enjoy our meals in good mood.I suggest that there be some soft music to help us relax.

These suggestions are not just of my own, but also of may other students. We hope our respectable president will pay attention to our suggestions.

By the way, the canteen workers are very patient and always smiling. So I think if our university offers them better conditions, they will offer us better service.Best wishes,

Yours sincerely,

Smiles Shorten the Distance between People

As the proverb puts it, a smile is the shortest distance between two people. In my opinion, a smile could bring people closer and we should smile as much as we can.

Firstly, a smile may help ease the tension in personal relationship. For example, when we make a mistake, a smile of our parents may remove our fears, what’s more, give us the courage to amend and make progre.During the proce, we become closer to our parents.

Secondly, a smile may help break the ice between two strangers. For instance, when we fall down on the ground, we will be grateful if a stranger with a smile on his or her face gives a hand to us.We’ll suddenly feel warm in the heart and feel the distance between the stranger and us is much shorter, and if we are lucky enough, we make a new friend.

To conclude, a smile could be an effective way to shorten the distance between people.Hence, it is advisable for people to smile more, not only to our beloved ones but also strangers.By doing so, we can build a more harmonious world and live a happier life.

A proberb says, “ You are only young once.”

It goes without saying that we cannot be young forever.(适用于自编名言) 更多经典句型:

As everyone knows, No one can deny that…

According to a recent survey, about 78.9% of the college students wanted to further their study after their graduation.

比如下面的例子: Obviously(此为过渡短语), we can draw the conclusion that good manners arise from politene and respect for others.

to sum up, in conclusion, in brief, on account of this, thus

Thus, it can be concluded that…, Therefore, we can find that…

Obviously, it is high time that we took some measures to solve the problem.

Accordingly, I recommend that some measures be taken.

Consequently, to solve the problem, some measures should be taken.…

As a creature, I eat; as a man, I read.Although one action is to meet the primary need of my body and the other is to satisfy the intellectual need of mind, they are in a way quite similar.

To begin with, you must work hard at your leons and be fully prepared before the exam(主题句).Without sufficient preparation, you can hardly expect to answer all the questions correctly.

1)first, second, third, last(不推荐,原因:俗)

2)firstly, secondly, thirdly, finally(不推荐,原因:俗)

3)the first, the second, the third, the last(不推荐,原因:俗)

4)in the first place, in the second place, in the third place, lastly(不推荐,原因:俗)

5)to begin with, then, furthermore, finally(强烈推荐)

6)to start with, next, in addition, finally(强烈推荐)

7)first and foremost, besides, last but not least(强烈推荐)

8)most important of all, moreover, finally

9)on the one hand, on the other hand(适用于两点的情况)

10)for one thing, for another thing(适用于两点的情况)

I cannot bear it. I cannot put up with it.

I want it. I am looking forward to it.

走出房间,general的词是:walk out of the room

但是小偷走出房间应该说:slip out of the room

小姐走出房间应该说:sail out of the room

小孩走出房间应该说:dance out of the room

老人走出房间应该说:stagger out of the room

I enjor music and he is fond of playing guitar.

Not only the fur coat is soft, but it is also warm.

besides, furthermore, likewise, moreover

The car was quite old, yet it was in excellent condition.

The coat was thin, but it was warm.

despite that, still, however, neverthele, in spite of, despite, notwithstanding

3)因果(so, so, so)

The snow began to fall, so we went home.

then, therefore, consequently, accordingly, hence, as a result, for this reason, so that

This is what I can do.

Whether he can go with us or not is not sure.

When to go, Why he goes away…

The man whom you met yesterday is a friend of mine.

I don’t enjoy that book you are reading.

Mr liu, our oral English teacher, is easy-going.

Whether your tastes are modern or traditional, sophisticated or simple, there is plenty in London for you.

Nowadays, energy can be obtained through various sources such as oil, coal, natural gas, solar heat, the wind and ocean tides.

We have got to study hard, to enlarge our scope of knowledge, to realize our potentials and to pay for our life.(气势恢宏)

The weather being fine, a large number of people went to climb the Western Hills.Africa is the second largest continent, its size being about three times that of China.

In order to attract more customers, advertisers have adopted every poible stimulative factor in making ads, such as sound, light, colours, cartoon films and human performance. For instance, to advertise a certain food, advertisers will ask an actor or actre to sit at a table and devour the seemingly delicious food while they fime him or her.

To take … as an example, One example is…, Another example is…, for example

方法:写完一个要点,比较与之相似的;又写完一个要点,再比较与之相反的;

in comparison, likewise, similarly, in the same manner

on the other hand, conversely, whereas, while, instead, neverthele, in contrast, on the contrary, compared with …, …

I love you!

I am enthusiastic about you. That is to say, I love you.

I am wild about you.In other words, I have fallen in love with you.

I cannot bear it.

I cannot put up with it.

I cannot bear it.That is to say, I cannot put up with it or I am fed up with it.

in more difficult language, in simpler words, put it more simply

Clean Your Plate Campaign

The campaign, Clean Your Plate Campaign, is initiated by nongovernmental organizations and activists, which urges people to save food by not wasting anything on the dining table. The campaign, launched on weibo, is soon joined by millions of netizens acro China in a bid to curb food wastage and appreciate the virtue of being thrifty even in times of plenty.

Every Chinese student is taught this Tang Dynasty poem: Farmers weeding at noon, sweat down the field soon.Who knows food on a tray, thanks to their toiling day.In the Chinese original, the word \"food\" receives emphasis, literally meaning: \"every grain on the plate is an embodiment of hard work\".Chinese parents would use this to teach their children not to waste food because it is the product of farmers\' exhausting labor under the scorching sun or in rainstorms.Yet, when we dine out, we\'ll be astounded by the amount of food squandered. The estimated annual wastage of grain in China is estimated to be 50 million tons, enough to feed about 200 million people for one year.

The campaign to finish up one\'s plate, or \"guangpan\" in catchy slang, is meant to drill some common sense into a vanity-conscious society that food is meant for your mouth and too much of it will not make you an important person.People from acro the social divide should support the Clean Your Plate Campaign.

给你打个比方吧,很多想到“许多”就用many,但是你别忘了many a ;handsome;maive, innumerable,a multitude of ;很多人想到“专家”就写expert,但很少人会想到specialist,很多人在想到“擅长”这词,就写be good at ,却不知还有更高级的表达法:be expert at 或者excel in „高手和庸才,就体现在这些细微的差别上!

1.The regular physical exercise contributes to our health 改成The regular physical exercise contributes tremendously to our health!

2.In my opinion, the driver’s carelene should be responsible for this road accident改成

3For my part, the driver‘s negligence should be dominantly responsible for this unexpectedly horrible accident

4The majority of students believe that the part-time job will provide them with more oppportunities to develop their interpersonal skills改成The majority of students firmly believe that the part-time job will undoubtedly provide them with golden opportunities to develop their interpersonal skills tremendously!

Recent decades have seen the rapid development of information technology, and thereby E-books have wound their way into our daily life.Because of the wide and quick popularity of E-books, there has been an increasing controversy over the question of whether E-books will replace traditional books or not.

Many people hold the idea that it will not take long for E-books to replace traditional books because E-books have quite a few advantages over traditional ones.First, E-books are more acceible to readers, because the readers just need to log onto the internet and read online.Second, thanks to the advanced technology, the cost of E-books is much lower, so it takes readers far le money to buy E-books.Last but not the least, reading E-books has developed into part of our daily life, which is particularly appealing to young users, who are the body part of the users of electronic products.

As far as I’m concerned, it is not likely for E-books to replace traditional books for lots of reasons. For example, long time of reading E-books will do more harm to our eyes, and readers will find themselves more acceible to printed materials because computers and the internet haven’t yet been popularized to every corner of our life.

范文二

E-books, or electronic books, have the same information and need the same reading experience as the traditional books, which you actually hold in your hands.E-books have so many benefits that they will replace traditional books.

E-books can be created on a shoestring budget while the authors of traditional books will have to overcome a tough sales target before they even consider making a profit on the book.E-books are quicker to create because they could be written and published in as little as a week while the time span between starting a traditional book and writing it could take around a year or two.E-books are easier to target a wide market because they may be sold on the Internet to anyone with a credit card and an Internet connection in any place in the world, while with a traditional book it may be difficult to expand to new markets, since it will involve further significant costs on distribution and marketing.

To conclude, E-books are a very valuable tool that could be used as a profit centre, as a publishing tool or as a marketing tool. They have many advantages over the traditional books.E-books will replace traditional books.

Due Attention Should Be Given To the Study of Chinese

With China’s opening up, interculturalcommunication has become more and more frequent between Chinese and foreigners.A good command of at least one foreign language has increasingly been an eential skill for us.People, especially the youths, pay much more attention to foreign language acquisitionthan Chinese study.

Various factors can account forthis situation.First of all, a good command of a foreign language may help young people to get a good job while Chinese skills may be of no significancein one’s job hunting and even their career.Consequently, some students may not treasure Chinese language any longer.Apart from that, nowadays fewer and fewer universities stimulate Chinese language study in campus, which has caused it to be marginalized.Under this circumstance, Chinese language becomes le and le popular in universities. It is clear that profeors in the field of Chinese study are not so respected than they were before.

In view of this situation, effective measures should be taken to change it.First, the whole society should emphasizethe importance of Chinese language in order to make it clear that it is

one indispensablepart of Chinese culture and Chinese race.Second, schools should promote Chinese language study and research. In addition, we individuals should contribute our own efforts to the study and protectionof Chinese language.

To conclude, we should pay great attention to Chinese language, since the importance of it is never too great to be exaggerated.

2010 12 My View on University Ranking

In recent years, all kinds of University Ranking Lists can be found on some educational websites, or newspapers. The ranking standards also vary. These lists have great influence on students. They are even becoming the only scale to evaluate the colleges and universities.

People hold different views toward this phenomenon. Some believe that these lists help the students a lot, especially for those who will choose their university. While some other protest vigorously. In their points, the list is really ridiculous and harmful. In my view, the university ranking may have its own reference values, but its disadvantages overweigh its values.

For those university-students-to-be, they are supposed to choose the school according to his or her own situation, but not the so-called Ranking List. What’s more, how about the university students? How do they feel about themselves when they see the ranking? The list may become some intangible shackles for them if their own school ranks poorly.

In a nutshell, there is no easy method to rank these universities, but the Ranking, only helps students ignore the eentials, namely, their ninety-nine percent perspiration.

My opinion on certificate craze

The growing tendency among college students to get all kinds of certificates has now evolved into a craze.Just randomly ask a student what he or she is busily engaged in doing, quite poibly, you would get the answer that he or she is preparing for a certificate of some kind. So, why\'s the craze?

The reason behind this phenomenon is common — the enormous preure of finding a job.Faced with a harsh job market, most students have no choice but to seek more certificates to parlay their qualifications.Another factor is that diploma and certificates still weighs heavily in terms of signifying one\'s ability. For the sake of increasing their odds of landing a better job, the students are compelled to run from one exam to another.

Though I have an open mind toward the craze on certificates, I suggest that students should be more rational when it comes to certificates, since they do not necearily tell their ability.Instead, they should be more involved in learning and capability boosting, thus, opportunities would come quite naturally.

高分版Certificate craze

Recently the phenomenon of certificate craze has become a big concern of the public. It is also a new craze in the university, which seems like a routine activity on campus, for certificates do play a vital role when students look for a decent job.

Admittedly, there are different purposes behind this phenomenon. Some people aim at certificates because of the employment preure. With the admiion expansion of colleges, a great many graduates have to face the fierce competition in the job market. So it is the certificates that can make them more competitive. However, some others consider all the diploma and certificates important standards by which a person\'s ability can be measured. They spare no effort to get the certificates for the sole purpose of proving that they are qualified in a certain field. Moreover, there are those who just want to enrich their life by preparing for the certificates because they really enjoy their progre.

From my point of view, we should be more rational when it comes to certificates, since

certificates do not necearily prove one\'s ability.Being crazy in getting certifications blindly is nothing but wasting time.To conclude, we should focus on improving our ability but not merely getting a certificate.

外教版

The job market today is increasingly sophisticated, requiring workers to have specialized knowledge in their fields. As a result, becoming certified is a trend among today\'s job seeking youth.More and more people, students especially, look at obtaining certification as a means to getting a better job and, therefore, enjoying brighter future.

There are as many certificates as there are fields of study.Lawyers will take the LSAT, busine majors will take the GMAT to further their study in the US, and those who study a foreign language, like English, might take the TOEFL, TOEIC, or any number of English certification exams.

Is this neceary? Or, is the “certification craze” just a trend that will eventually pa? I myself have obtained two different certifications: one in Japanese (N2) and another in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL).Both of these certifications have been beneficial in getting good jobs.

Therefore, it is my opinion that, trend or not, the results of becoming certified are real and can be invaluable in opening up future opportunities.
