A firm advertising for a “friendly” employee has been asked to change its wording because it discriminates against unfriendly people.Travelco, a travel agency, put in a request for a “Friendly employee” to provide food for its staff.But the Job Center in Bristol told managing director Harry Smith that he would have to remove the word “friendly” before the advertisement could be accepted.

作为兼职教学督导员，同时也抱着去学习的态度，笔者去听了王国聚老师给12级商务翻译1班学生上的英语视听说课。

首先是学生上台演讲，内容自定，学生可将内容做成PPT以提示演讲内容。一般情况，台下的学生都不会认真听演讲，觉得不关自己的事。可是在这堂课上我感觉学生们个个都很认真，原来王老师要求台下的学生听完演讲后复述演讲内容，并根据演讲内容给演讲的学生提三个问题，然后老师点评、打分。接着，王老师自己演讲，学生针对王老师的演讲内容提三个问题，老师回答问题。最后学生听英文材料，复述主要内容，再将主要内容用中文翻译出来。

王老师的英语视听说课方式独特，对学生和老师都具有挑战性。传统的视听说课，通常是只注重听的训练，而忽视了说的锻炼，即使是说也是听了之后回答问题，再模仿着说，教学内容基本拘于书本，虽然有时也补充些课外听力材料。王老师的视听说课，注重对学生听说两种能力的培养，以说促听，以听促说，不拘于书本，并发挥了学生的创造力，效果好，值得借鉴。此外，结合翻译专业的特点，王老师除了要求学生复述所听内容，并且将内容翻译成中文，培养了学生的翻译能力。

I’m glad to stand here for my speech.Today I want to say that your attitude determines how high you fly.I want to share a story with you about this topic.As most of you know, I attended College Entrance Exams twice.In 2010，I was so crazy to prepare for the exam.I did all kinds of exercises repeatedly.I think it could have been poible for me to succeed if I had become a robot.So I became more and more unhappy.I had forgotten how to smile and laugh.I became more and more indifferent to everything.My friends stayed away from me one by one.I couldn’t sleep whole night before the exam.The result of the exam, you can image, was very bad.Could you fly with an indifferent and negative attitude to life? They are president, brilliant educators, famous singers.But do you know，besides reputation, they still have something in common, that is , they all came from a single parent family.We can take a gue from these examples that although there can be considerable disadvantages for a single parent family, there are many ways parents can educate their children succefully on their own.If parents take the time to shower their kids with love, take the time to teach values, morals and eential coping skills, they will empower their children to be well adjusted and well behaved.

很荣幸参加了这次“视、听、说”培训学习，在这10天的学习中，学院为我们做了精心的安排。挑选了经验丰富的专家与老师为我们授课。我们聆听了李妮老师发音纯正语音课，张莹老师系统而实用的听力技巧训练的听力课。还有宋瑜为我们送上的全新视觉听觉的视听课，尤其是张广友老师的《新课标下的有效英语教学》，使我们领略了幽默风趣的教育风格和先进的教育理论，使我受益匪浅；既有观念上的洗礼，也有理论上的提高；既有知识上的积淀，也有教学技艺的增长

首先，在这次培训中，我认真聆听了每位专家、老师的讲座。感受颇深，收获较大。专家们的讲座和视频使我从理论上的高度了解了本次培训的重要性，同时也得以从感性上了解新课标理念下的课堂教学，从而反省自己的教育教学观和教学方法，特别是我们培养出的学生应试成绩不错，却无法张嘴与别人交流。尤其是听力方面存在较大的问题。听是输入语言信息和感受的最基本途径。我们听不懂别人说什么，又如何能沟通。交流？所以在今后的教学中必须加强学生的听力技巧训练，搞学生的听力理解水平。（张莹老师的训练方法值得借鉴）。
