课题： Unit 6 Reading（第七课时） :
Do You Know When Basketball Was Invented? 教材分析：
本单元已 “inventions” 中心为话题，以谈论生活中常见和重要发明物的历史为主线，学习并运用被动语态，把话题，交际功能和语言结构有机结合起来。通过本单元的学习，学生不仅学习使用 “was/were + Vpp”的被动结构，同时通过查阅相关资料了解一些著名的发明家和一些发明物有趣的故事，拓展学生的知识面，提高学习兴趣，激发学生运用自己所了解和所掌握的知识积极地与他人交流，充分练习使用本单元的目标语言，提高学生的语言交际能力，同时激发学生热爱科学的热情，鼓励和激励学生关注生活，学会思考，大胆尝试，培养自己的创新精神，创造出自己发明物，让我们的世界变得更美好。本单元话题实用性强，涉及面广，语言运用量大。通过赋予知识和语言技能训练以真实的情境来调动学生的参与热情；通过通说读写训练，培养学生的语言综合运用能力，发展学生自主探究自主学习能力。
本节课的主题是：do you know when basketball was invented? 紧扣住了本单元的话题invention。学生特别是男生喜欢打篮球，所以对这片文章特别感兴趣。围绕主题，教材中本节课由四个板块组成。
1、before you read包含两个任务：1a 列举在中国开展的八项运动；1b 按流行程度把这些运动排序。
2、while you read：是一篇阅读文章，即本节课的主体。
3、after you read： 3a 根据文章内容完成mind-map; 3b 回答问题。
4、go for it包括两个任务：（1）列举成为篮球运动员的好处和坏处；（2）研究一项发明，完成关于该发明的mind-map。依据学情，教师将删除板4中的第二个任务，并替换成其他的环节。
本单元的语法点是被动语态。文中出现了大量的被动语态的句子，通过阅读文章，学生能有效的感悟被动语态的用法。
本节课渗透的学习策略是mind-map, 希望通过本节课的学习，学生能对该策略形成感性认识，并在今后的学习中能有意识的使用该学习策略。
教学对象分析： 九年级的学生都是一些积极活跃的青少年，他们热衷于运动及他们所喜爱的运动明星，而篮球运动是他们最熟悉和喜爱的运动之一，所以本节课的篮球运用的发明历史必定极大地激发学生的学习兴趣和学习热情。这种积极的学习情绪非常有利于学生更好地运用阅读策略进行有效的阅读学习，提高阅读能力和交际能力。语法结构被动语态“was/were + Vpp”在课文中有大量的句子，但由于学生在本册第三单元已经学习过含有情态动词的被动语态和本单元前几课时被动语态的学习，学生将会得到更多机会在本节课的阅读教学中感悟和加强此项语法的学习。相信学生定会积极参与本节课各种教学活动，顺利完成本节课的学习任务。
教学目标和要求： 1．知识目标：

3)通过mind-map策略，训练学生在阅读中获取关键信息的能力和运用脑中构图来复述课文的能力。

2) 感谢让我们生活如此美好和有趣的发明家！学习他们的创新精神，试着发明出自己的东西。 教学重点：

3.通过阅读，训练学生运用脑中构图的策略来记住信息的能力。 教学难点： 阅读技巧和写作技巧训练。 阅读能力的突破。

指导学生如何有效的运用mind-map策略来进行高效阅读。 教学方法： 整体阅读教学方法。 小组合作。
课后辩论和写作拓展。 学法：
指导学生运用已有的知识来学习新知识。
培养并引导学生通过小组合作的方式进行有效学习。 教具准备：导学案，录音机，多媒体课件。 教学环节： Step1: Lead-in：
播放一段NBA视频，导入新课。 After watching the game ,ask the students: Do you like basketball?
Who is your favorite basketball player? Is basketball very popular in China? What other sports are played in China？ Can you list them?
Present some pictures of different sports and rank them from the most popular to the least popular.Step2: Before You Read: Present the picture about the equipments of the basketball, teach the students to learn these new and key words:

dream of 设计反思:
在这节阅读课教学中，我以提高学生的阅读能力为目标，精心设计了阅读课教学的每一个环节，充分发挥学生作为学习主体的积极性，激发学生参与课堂活动的积极性和主动性，成功地引导学生循序渐进的学习阅读材料，训练阅读技巧，培养阅读能力。尽在阅读过程中，我设计不同的阅读活动，给予学生充分的阅读时间，让学生在完成阅读任务的过程中，加强了scanning及skimming等阅读技巧的训练，培养学生整体理解文章的能力。这是我本节课最有效地环节。让学生充分地阅读，是阅读课的重要教学手段。本节课我利用mind-map策略，降低复述课文的难度，却增强巩固课文的效果和提高学生运用英语的表达能力。当然本节课成功地采用了小组合作学习的方式让学生增加了自信，增强了学习效果！总体而言，我认为这是一节比较成功的阅读课！
但由于时间关系，复述课文环节所涉及的同学不多，有些学生的表现欲望没有得到满足，这需要在课后极强。或许在下节课的复习环节或Duty report活动中可以加以弥补。
