1 Describe an exhibition (museum) you attended.

You should say:

when you saw it

where it was

and what you saw in the exhibition.

I’m going to talk about the “Spirit of Yimeng Mountain”, an exhibition I saw in summer last year.It was one of the three exhibitions to mark the 60th anniversary of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggreion. The exhibit was run at the National Museum of China.

The show consisted of three parts, namely, Red Earth, Respectable People and Great Achievements.

Yimeng Mountain areas, now mostly Linyi in southeast Shandong, was the political, military and cultural centre of the province during the war.More than half of the local population joined the force, over one million supported the military troops, and many gave their lives in the fighting.

A variety of showpieces including photographs, videos and sculptures were also on display.I think what I learned from it is a love of peace. The exhibit tells us what humanity suffers during war times.People die and millions lose their homes. We’re not afraid of wars, of course. When we have to fight, we will fight. But we do hope to make war a history. And I think that’s part of the reason why this exhibition was run.雅思口语part 2 -----活动类、经历类范文

2.Describe a popular game that children play.

You should say:

what it is

where you played it

how many people are needed

how to play it and explain why you think it is interesting.

The game that comes to my mind is an old Chinese game called “The Eagle and the Chicks”.It is great fun, and easy to play.

When I was a child I played this game very often. The game needs at least five kids to start, and the more kids participating, the more fun it is.One child will play the “eagle” and another child as the “mother hen”.The rest of the kids will be the “chicks”, lining up behind the hen, with both hands holding on to the clothes of the chick in front. In the game, the eagle tries to catch one of the chicks, who then takes his/her role as the eagle. The mother hen tries to protect her children with her arms stretched.

“The Eagle and the Chicks” enjoys great popularity among children in China. They definitely get great satisfaction in the excitement. In addition, they learn how to work as a team, which is an eential skill later in life.

I’d like to talk about my favourite subject, English.I have always been excellent in English since middle school. This is due to my first English teacher-my mother.By the time I studied in her cla, she had taught English for 15 years. She was the course coordinator, responsible for syllabus design and young teacher training.

My mother used a very special kind of teaching method in the cla.The whole cla was divided into four groups, competing with each other. The group who answered the most questions correctly in the cla would be given some prize at the end of the term. Most of the students prepared for the leons very well in order to answer the questions correctly. We found it very exciting and tried to earn more points for the group.

I have learnt not only the English knowledge such as vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation, but also communication skills and team spirit. You know I was one of the group leaders. So I needed to communicate with my group members so that we could cooperate well with each other and win the prize.

7.Describe one thing you find interesting about cultural difference.

You should say:

what it is

how you learned about this cultural difference

and explain why you think it’s interesting.I’ve been abroad in my secondary school for a period of time, and in my current college, which is affiliated to the China Foreign Ministry, I also have plenty of chances to get in touch with foreign people. They are either worldly renowned scholars or diplomats from around the world; the Arabian world, the European countries, North and Latin America, and Africa…Foreign culture is then becoming a very vague term. The more people I meet, the harder it is to generalize. It’s like asking a foreigner who’s spent years in China what Chinese culture is.But I can still talk about a most recent case that happened around me though it’s not interesting. One of my clamates failed a course because he’s got a technical problem identified as plagiarism. The profeor is from Yale.I mention this because I discovered that though Chinese teachers don’t allow plagiarism, they don’t put emphasis on not doing it.None of my Chinese teachers has ever brought our attention to this iue but we are always warned in the first claed given by my 12 foreign teachers since I’ve entered the college, that plagiarism is seriously banned and we are given detailed training on how to make quotations and bibliography.Though the situation in China is improving, it is still far from enough.I regard this a difference in the degree of respect to people’s intellectual property.Plagiarizers are called intellectual thieves among my foreign profeors but we don’t have that serious of wording in Chinese. That’s now what I see about cultural difference, and it’s also an iue we should pay special attention to.

8.Describe an important change in your life.

You should say:

what it is

what the effect on you is

how you feel about it

and explain why it is important.

Actually, that sounds kind of unusual but one of the turning points in my life was when I got my first bicycle.

I remember it was a present my father gave me on my seventh birthday. It was a brand new bicycle. You know, back in the 1980s, having a bicycle was really something, especially for a boy of only seven.

That was a very important day for me.For the first time, I could go out on my own and go as far as I wanted to.I used to polish the bicycle everyday and take really good care of it.Of course, that only lasted a few months, and then I lost interest in it.

I think the reason that it was an important change for me is that for the first time in my life, I realized what a fantastic thing it was to be free, and to go anywhere with your free will. That was the beginning of a lifelong craving for travelling.By the time I graduated from university, I had almost been to most of the major cities in China. And now I’m thinking of the world outside China.Of course, as a return for his kindne, I will buy my father a brand new car on his 60th birthday.
