Unit1 Xiamen lies in the south of Fujian, facing Taiwan acro the Taiwan Straits.Made up of six districts , Xiamen has an area of 1,600 square kilometers and a population of about 2 million.
The climate in Xiamen is pleasant , neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter.There is plenty of rainfall in Xiamen , especially in summer.In additon ,as a seaport city ,Xiamen enjoy a high reputation of beautiful scenery such as Huandao road, Nanputuo Temple,Gulang Island and Wanshi Botanical Garden etc.
In recent years ,Xiamen , one of the Economic Zones in China, has changed a lot and is becoming more and more beautiful, attracking millions of tourists every year.
Unit2 The other day, we had a discuion in our biology cla about whether cloning technology should be developed or not.Opinions were different.Most of the students argued that cloning should be encouraged because it can speed up the development of science and bring up into a new age of progre.Besides, cloning is beneficial in that it helps cure many diseases and save lives.However, some of the students held that cloning technology has too many problems at present , and that the misuse of it may lead to unimaginable consequences .Furthermore, the cloning of humans could lead to many problems, such as rapid population increase and so on.In my opinion, since cloning is such a new technology, we must be careful to make appropriate use of it.In this case it could bring us a lot of benefits; otherwise, we may end up suffering because of it

Five li south of the city of Zhao County in Hebei Province, there is a stone arch bridge called Zhaozhou Bridge.
