When someone disagrees with you or offends you, don’t lose your temper.Why? Because it is of no use to do so.You ought to be patient and keep calm lest you should quarrel with him.You must know that patience is not cowardice, but a virtue.I hope that everybody practices it.In addition, patience will also bring us succe.When you meet with difficulties in your work, it is no use losing heart.You must keep on fighting until the final victory belongs to you.
当有人和你意见不同或开罪你的时候，你切不可发脾气。为什么？因为这样做是无用的。你应当忍耐并且保持冷静，唯恐和他争吵。你必须知道忍耐不是弱而是一种美德。我希望人人都实行它。
另外，忍耐也会带给我们成功。当你在工作中遭遇到困难的时候，灰心是无用的。你必须继续作战直到最后胜利属于你为止。

作为一个建筑设计师应具备20个基本知识、修养与技能：
1.懂制图（土建制图、机械制图），能熟练地画出符合国家规范的设计图纸和施工图。
2.能看懂各种土建施工图纸，除了结构施工图纸外，对给排水（上下水）工程图、采暖工程图、通风工程图、电气照明与消防工程图等，也都非常熟练。这对搞好室内装修设计十分重要：可以避免装修设计与土建设施发生冲突，能更周到的进行装修设计、恰当的进行装修设计。
3.懂透视学，能快速地画出室内透视骨架线图，做到透视准确无误：会画轴测图（定轴测轴和轴间角度）。这是画好效果图的基础。
4.会画彩色效果图，能把房间的空间感、质感、色彩变化、家具设备的主体感、光环境效果等正确地表现出来。
5、熟悉各种土建材料和建筑装修材料（材料的性能、特点、尺寸规格、色泽、装饰效果和价格等），才能正确地选用材料和恰当地搭配材料。
6.懂得建筑的基本构造类型，特别是对每种构造的优缺点、常用的结构方式等要熟悉。
7.具备建筑风格、室内和家具风格方面的知识与修养，能熟悉各种的基本特征与变体。还了解各种陈设品的历史发展。
8.具备测绘的知识与技能，能正确地做好现场实测记录，为设计搜集资料。
9.对装修施工工艺要熟悉，以确保装饰装修的质量。
10.有广博的文化知识与修养，这对提高室内设计水平有利。
11.会并善于做设计资料的搜集与积累工作，列如，通过画速写、测绘、拍照、复印和记录等手段，不断积累有用的各种设计资料。
12.掌握专业调查的技巧，不论是综合性的，还是专业性的调查，都能抓住要点，得到设计师应掌握的情况与信息，以利于室内设计工作。
13.会独立制作高质量的模型，这就要求设计师懂材料、工艺做法，并会使用必要的工具和设备。这是设计师应具备的动手能力。
14.会摄影，懂暗房技术，还会摄像。这些技能设计师也能掌握。
15.室内设计师还会电脑辅助设计（CAD），掌握用电脑绘制设计图、施工图和
效果图的技巧。
16.要具备园林艺术、盆景与插花艺术方面的知识与修养，懂得绿化树种、花草的特性与功能。
17.对人体工程学要做深入地研究和了解。
18.加强对电光源、光源产品和照明技术的了解，从而有利于搞好室内照明设计。
19.室内设计师要研究社会学，了解人与人之间的关系、人群与阶层、阶级、生活方式和需求，这对搞好设计有帮助。
20.室内设计师还应对环境科学有深入的了解，并及时掌握新的发展趋势。另加两条：了解物理动力学、化学生物学。
As an architect should have 20 basic knowledge, training and skills:
