Personal Opinions on Holden Caulfield
Such a traitorous and even depraved teenager Holden Caulfield is, that I overlooked his kindne at fist.He is a kind teenager; He is a kind teenager with beautiful dream; He is a kind teenager with beautiful and pure dream.A young teenager dismied four times by four different schools, who smokes, drinks and mingles with prostitute, of course, was sniffed at by most of so called decent people.However, in my opinion, he is a thoroughly kind person.Also, I pay a tribute to his great dream.How could he be so kind? He hides his leather box in case another boy should feel self-abased; He feels sorry for the job of an old man who helps him carries his baggage; He worries about his history teacher whose life is depreing; He feels horrible for the death of his brother; He is sad when he think of the scene where the prostitute takes a dre like a ordinary girl; He even feels sad for a pianist’s never knowing his bad music.So kind and pure the teenager is that he felt horrible for all the dirty things.He hates stupid girls while no one has more respect for these girls.He loves clever girls with all his heart and soul.I even can not imagine a teenager can have such gentle and exquisite sentiments.For his kind heart, he wants to guard children’s purene and beauties.Also for that time, dream is great in that time.“And I’m standing on the edge of some crazy cliff.What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff—I mean if they are running and they don’t look where they are going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them .That’s all I’d do all day.I’d just be the catcher in the rye and all.” These words are what Holden Caulfield tells his sister.I imagine his expreion on his face when he looking at his sister’s clear eyes and says these sentences from the bottom of his heart.Hoping for another beautiful world, which is his heaven, he looks into the sky.This bohemian, gloomy but kind teenager, whose heart is ten times sensitive as ordinary people, is my hero.He is at the same perplexed dilemma as us, we, the post-90 students, also face the conflict between rapid development of the materials and our dream in our bottom of our hearts.How could we choose? It is a matter worthy of think over and over again.But I really hope we can get rid of the complexity of society and hear sound of our hearts.
