Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London, 14 March 2013 尊敬的白乐威主席， 英国工商界的朋友们： Sir David Brewer, Friends from British Busine Community, 由于我因公务回国，今天无法亲临现场出席英中贸协举办的“2013中国商业大会”，特此通过视频对大会的召开表示热烈祝贺。
Due to an official busine, I cannot be with you today in London, but through this video meage I want to offer my warm congratulations to the China Busine Conference 2013.我认为此次会议适逢其时，其主题概括起来就是探讨中国经济未来增长的动力，抓住与中国开展合作的机遇。
I believe the timing of this conference could not be more fitting.I have learned that the theme of this conference will focus on drivers of China‟s future economic growth and how to seize opportunities of cooperation with China.几年前，不少人面对中国高速增长了三十年，曾产生过疑问：中国还能增长三十年吗？这个疑问在中国共产党第十八次全国代表大会后，在中国“两会”即将产生新一届国家领导人之时，看来正在消解。因为“十八大”、“两会”传递的信息明确表明，中国找准了未来的发展方向，中国经济增长仍然具备强大的动力，这就是：实现经济发展方式转型，进一步提高生产力；加快城镇化，创造新的巨大投资与消费需求；增加民众收入，提高社会福利，扩大民众的消费能力；提高人口素质，创造新的“人口红利”；深化改革开放，从政策层面继续释放经济发展的潜力。有上述动力，中国经济就能继续平稳增长三十年，就能顺利跨越“中等收入陷阱”，就能实现十八大确立的“双百”目标。
The Chinese economy has been growing at a stunning speed for three decades.Several years ago some people raised doubts about whether China can maintain such fast growth for another three decades.Following the 18th Congre of the Communist Party of China, these doubts are dispersing as the new leadership of China is about to take office.This is because the meages sent out from the 18th CPC Congre and the current NPC and CPPCC seions clearly show that China has identified its future direction.These meages include the following elements: · Shift the economic growth model to boost productivity.· Speed up urbanisation to generate new demands of investment and consumption.· Raise incomes and improve social welfare so that people can spend more.· Strengthen education and training to create a new „demographic dividend‟.
· Deepen the „reform and opening up‟ as policy guarantee to further unleash the potential of the economy.I am confident that with the above driving forces in place, the Chinese economy will continue to grow steadily for another three decades.In turn China will be able to overcome the middle income trap and achieve the two major goals laid down at the 18th Party Congre: · One is to build China into a well-off society by 2020.· The other is to build China into a modernised country that is rich, strong, beautiful, democratic, culturally advanced and harmonious by the middle of this century.中国经济的持续发展无疑是英国企业的福音。因为你们将看到一个更加庞大的出口市场和更具价值的投资目的地，你们的技术和知识产权将得到更好的保护和产生更大的效益；你们将看到更多的中国游客，为英国的旅游业和零售业带来更多的就业机会和更火的商机；你们将看到更多的中国国有和民营企业到英国投资、设立分支机构和建立地区总部，涉及金融、基础设施、创意产业和通讯技术等许多领域；你们将看到人民币离岸业务在英国日益扩大，进一步加强伦敦的国际金融中心地位，更加便利两国贸易结算。 I believe sustained economic growth of China is really excellent news for British companies.· You will see a larger export market and a more rewarding investment destination.· Your technologies and IPRs will be better protected and generate more returns.· You will see more tourists from China, and they will create more jobs and busine opportunities for British tourist and retailing sectors.· You will see more Chinese state-owned and private enterprises make investments, open branches and set up regional headquarters in Britain.Their busine will cover wide sectors ranging from finance, infrastructure to creative industry and telecommunications technology.· You will see expanding off-shore RMB busine in Britain.This will strengthen London‟s status as an international financial hub and make easier trade settlement between our two countries.什么是机遇？这就是机遇！让我们共同努力，抓住机遇，合作共赢。 What is opportunity? 秘书长国际幸福日致辞 The pursuit of happine lies at the core of human endeavours.People around the world aspire to lead happy and fulfilling lives free from fear and want, and in harmony with nature.
追求幸福是一切人类活动的核心。世界各地的人们都渴望过上快乐、充实的生活，没有恐惧和物质的匮乏，与自然和谐相处。
Yet, basic material well-being is still elusive for far too many living in extreme poverty.For many more, recurring socio-economic crises, violence and crime, environmental degradation and increasing threats of climate change are an ever-present threat.
然而，对太多生活在极端贫困中的人来说，基本的物质福祉依然是难以企及的奢望。对于更多的人来说，经常性的社会经济危机、暴力和犯罪、环境恶化和日益严重的气候变化威胁，都是挥之不去的威胁。
At last year‟s Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development, United Nations Member States agreed on the need for a balanced approach to sustainable development by integrating its three pillars – economic growth, social development and environmental protection.They recognized that in order to better inform policy decisions, broader measures of progre should complement Gro Domestic Product.
在去年举行的里约+20联合国可持续发展大会上，联合国会员国商定必须将经济增长、社会发展和环境保护这三个支柱结合起来，以平衡的方式实现可持续发展。他们认识到，为了给决策提供更好的依据，在国内生产总值以外还应制定更广泛的指标来衡量进展情况。
I am encouraged by the efforts of some Governments to design policies based on comprehensive well-being indicators.I encourage others to follow suit.On this first International Day of Happine, let us reinforce our commitment to inclusive and sustainable human development and renew our pledge to help others.When we contribute to the common good, we ourselves are enriched.Compaion promotes happine and will help build the future we want.
我感到欣慰的是，一些政府正在努力根据全面的福祉指标制定政策。我鼓励其他国家效仿这一做法。

关注:苹果在各国致歉信态度大相径庭
自从315晚会苹果后盖门被曝光以来，苹果公司对外界的质疑还是以其一贯的高高在上的态度冷漠对之，在危机公关上严重失分。在消费者的强烈要求下，苹果方面终于发布了一份不痛不痒、貌似道歉实则自夸的声明，原文如下：
“苹果公司致力于生产世界一流的产品，并为所在市场的消费者提供无与伦比的用户体验。这也是为什么我们在每一家苹果零售店的Genius Bar 天才吧提供深受消费者喜爱的面对面支持。我们也与全国270多个城市的超过500个授权服务点密切合作。我们的团队一直努力超越消费者的期望，并高度重视每一位消费者的意见和建议。”
看着这份声明，让人不禁怀疑这是在道歉吗？从头至尾没有一个字提到对消费者表示歉意，只是一味地声称自己的优势，难怪有网友称这份声明为“官方回复假大空的经典范文”。
其实，这次的“假道歉”事件并不是苹果公司的初犯，之前在英国和三星的专利侵权案中，苹果公司就被法官要求在其主页上对三星公司致歉，然后苹果公司依旧发布了一份毫无歉意，甚至暗讽三星的致歉声明，部分原文如下：
“…But the Samsung products are very thin, almost insubstantial members of that family with unusual details on the back.They do not have the same understated and extreme simplicity which is poeed by the Apple design.They are not as cool.”（但是三星的产品非常纤薄，和其产品体系中的其他纤薄产品一样，在后盖上也有独特的细节设计。这和苹果在设计上的理念和致简风格不同。所以，三星的产品没有苹果的帅气。）
以上就是苹果公司在法院判决的要求下，对三星公司侵权案做出的“致歉”声明！有国外网友调侃称“Some apology, eh?（这也叫道歉？）”。当然，这份道歉也引起了英国法院的不满，于是法官要求苹果公司重新道歉，法院警告“如果不遵循该命令，将会对首席执行官(CEO)蒂姆·库克(Tim Cook)等高层管理人员实施拘留或罚款”。
从以上两件事也许你会说，苹果公司就是那么“目中无人”、“霸气外露”，但事实正好相反，在最近一次的苹果地图事件中，苹果公司就确确实实、诚诚恳恳地道了一次歉。苹果CEO在官网上发布的声明上是这样写的：
“We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.”（对于用户在使用中遇到的不便，我们深感歉意。我们将竭尽全力去完善我们的Maps系统。）

《华尔街日报》否认行贿中国官员
News Corp has revealed that employees at the Wall Street Journal‟s Chinese news bureau were accused of bribing Chinese officials for information but that an investigation by auditors and lawyers found no evidence to support the claims.新闻集团(News Corp)表示，《华尔街日报》(Wall Street Journal)中国分社的员工被指向中国官员行贿以获取信息，但由审计人员和律师进行的调查没有发现任何证据支持这一指控。
The announcement comes as the US Department of Justice conducts a separate investigation into potential criminal conduct at News Corp related to the phone hacking scandal at UK newspapers.新闻集团发表上述声明之际，美国司法部还展开了另外一项调查，以判断该公司在其旗下英国报纸的电话窃听丑闻中是否存在犯罪行为。 According to the Wall Street Journal, the justice department opened a foreign corrupt practices investigation into the Chinese allegations last year.The US newspaper first reported the case yesterday.根据《华尔街日报》的报道，美国司法部去年对其中国部门是否涉嫌海外腐败行为展开了调查。这家美国报纸昨日首先报道了该案。
Its report says the justice department informed News Corp in early 2012 that it had received information from an unidentified person it described as a whistleblower, who accused one or more employees of the Wall Street Journal of providing gifts to Chinese government officials.报道称，美国司法部在2012年初告知新闻集团，一位告密者匿名举报《华尔街日报》的一至多位员工向中国政府官员赠送了礼物。

News Corp still faces a US investigation related to poible criminal conduct at its UK subsidiaries, including phone hacking and bribery.新闻集团仍面临美国对其英国子公司可能的犯罪行为的调查，包括电话窃听和贿赂行为。
News Corp said: “In regards to UK matters, we‟ve delivered on our commitment to uncover wrongdoing and feel confident about the work we‟ve done to put us on the right path, including sweeping changes to our global internal controls, compliance programmes and ethics requirements.”
