Youth
Ladies and Gentlemen , Good afternoon! I‟m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech.today my topic is “youth”.I hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it. First I want to ask you some questions:
1、Do you know what is youth?
2、How do you master your youth? Youth
Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshne ; it is the freshne of the deep springs of life .
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease.This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 .Nobody grows old merely by a number of years .We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul .Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .
Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being „s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what‟s next and the joy of the game of living .In the center of your heart and my heart there‟s a wirele station : so long as it receives meages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .
When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of peimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80. Thank you!
青春
青春不是指岁月，而是指心态。粉嫩的脸，红润的唇，矫健的膝并不是青春。青春表现在意志的坚强与懦弱。想象的丰富与苍白、情感的充沛与贫乏等方面。青春是生命深处清泉的喷涌。
青春是追求。只有当勇气盖过怯弱、进取压倒苟安之时，青春才存在。果如此，则60见之长者比20岁之少年更具青春活力。仅仅岁月的流逝并不能使他们衰老。而一旦抛弃理想和信念，则垂垂老也。
岁月只能使皮肤起皱。而一旦丧失生活的激情，则连灵魂枯老，使人生枯如死水，毫无活力。
60岁长者也好，16岁少年也罢，每个人的内心深处都渴望奇迹，都如孩子一般眨着期待的双眼，期待着下一次，期待着生活的情趣，你我灵魂深处都有一座无线电中转站------只有你我年轻，则总能听到希望的呼唤，总能发出喜悦的欢呼，总能传达勇气的讯号，总能表现出青春的活力………
一旦青春的天线倒下，你的灵魂即为玩世不恭之雪、悲观厌世之冰覆盖；即使你年方20.其实你已垂垂老也。而只要你青春的天线高高耸起，就可以随时接收到乐观的电波-----即使你年过八旬，行将就木，而你却仍然拥有青春，你仍然年轻。

The greatest invention in my eyes is the telephone, which is eential today in every house.And I believe that each person here own a lovely cell phone, including myself.What dose this phenomena mean? Needle to say, with only over 100-year‟s development, telephone has already aumed a role as a family member.(“ played an important part in our daily life ”.) amazing invention, isn‟t it?
And now, let us have a view at the evolution: thousands of years ago, it was not poible or at least very hard for people far away from home having contact with their hometown, which means they could do nothing but to lose contact with their family; then, hundreds of years ago, people away from home could keep in touch with their family only by letters, which they needed to wait for weeks, months for a response; and now, attention, within seconds you can have a pleasant talk with a somebody thousands and thousands away! Wonder, isn‟t it? Now, please draw a picture in your mind: you only need to pick up your cell phone, to pre the amazing numbers, to wait for several seconds and after she/he get the telephone, to make your voice fly through the air-sea in the form of radio, then a contact is being made as I am making the speech for you.
While, what I appreciate most is not the convenience the telephone offered, but the bridges it made which create contacts between you and your beloved parents, and your hometown thousands away.These bridges work as follows: when you are unhappy, bridge will be made to easy your broken heart by your lovely parents; when you are succe, it will be made to share your enjoyment with your friends; when you are helple, phone call will be made to strengthen your determination, also to give you encouragements. Through those bridges, can‟t you find something?
Probably, after the speech, I may phone my parents.Thank you very much!
reading books One of the most popular hobbies among people is reading books.More and more people spend their spare time in reading the books they are interested in.
There are so many books in the world that it is impoible for any one to read all of them, even if he spends his whole life in reading.Before we start reading, we should find out whether it is valuable for us to read.
Reading good books is one of the greatest pleasures in life.It can enrich our knowledge.It makes us learn lots of things we did not previously know.We can be aware of what had happened in the past as well as what is happening in the present time.The more books we read, the more knowledge we get.No matter how much education we receive or how much expensive we have, we can not become a full man unle we keep reading.
Reading bad books will lead you to a wrong way and prevents you from progreing.It‟s worse than reading nothing.So we know how important it is to read good books.
book can be read at random time if you have leisure, and there never be a time limitation.Also, you can read a book to achieve a more really history.Through a book, you can communicate with its author without other‟s transmiion.All these rarely can be easily achieved by a television. Furthermore, book is a treasure that has developed centuries.As we know when written language appeared, human beings became use it to record their lives, and this action leaves us a lot of historic precious mineral.We can absorb intelligence and wisdom, and we can also be taught leons.I love book from my heart, form book I know how to communicate with others, and I learn my homeland is the place I love best, and also I know my parents are the very individuals who I love through my life.What about the television? Television, sometimes, show violence, sex, drugs beyond our choice Claifying Rubbish , Improving Environment Good morning, respectable judges, teachers.Today, standing here makes me feel really honored and excited.The title of my speech is Claifying Rubbish , Improving Environment.Personally, rubbish has been a big headache in Beijing.As
the year 2008 is coming ,every citizen has realized Green Beijing and Green Olympics will bring the far-reaching impact on Beijing and even all China .The scense of rubbish nearly everywhere has given all of us a really bad impreion, and I'm sure none of us wish to show off the bad side of Beijing to athletes and journalists all over the world, for it would blemish the city's and even China's image and leave a bad reputation.So we really have to work hard on Green Olympics.Now, we are middle school students.We must improve the sense of protecting the environment and make a contribution to Green Olympics .In our life, a lot of rubbish , such as waste paper, plastic bottles ,batteries and so on , is produced every day .After we learnt the paage Make Our Environment More Beautiful , we found a lot of rubbish thrown into dustbins could be recycled in fact during our discuion.So we thought it would be better if we could claify rubbish .we told our idea to our teacher and he supported us very much .We became volunteers to claify rubbish .Firstly we got three big boxes and put them in a corner of our claroom .One is for waste paper , one for plastics and Coke cans and the other is for batteries .With Teacher's help ,soon all the students took part in the activity of claifying rubbish .In a month , we collected three boxes of paper , a box of batteries and a box of plastics and Coke cans .We sold them for 28 yuan and bought some young trees with the money .We planted the trees around our school .We were all spoken highly of by our school principals.Now we keep on the job and are all proud of improving environment .The world trusts Beijing .Beijing still has a lot to do to reach the level the world expects, but we have the confidence to make Beijing a Green City.Great changes are taking place, and not far in the future, Beijing will be the focus of all worlds' attention.We'll grasp the opportunity and do our best to make the sky blue

垃圾分类，改善环境
尊敬的评委、老师们，你们好！有幸站在这里，我感到是一种荣耀，我此时的心情非常激动。我演讲的题目是：垃圾分类，改善环境！
应该说垃圾问题一直是困扰我们的一大难题。随着2008年的临近，每一个市民都深切地意识到"绿色北京，绿色奥运"对北京乃至中国将有着多么深远的影响！几乎到处是垃圾的情景早就给我们留下了深刻的印象。我相信没有一个中国人愿意把北京不好的印象留给来自世界各地的参赛队员和新闻记者，因为它会严重损坏北京乃至中国的形象和声誉。所以，我们必须致力于建设绿色奥运这一目标。
我们现在是中学生。我们必须提高我们保护环境的意识，从现在做起，为2008年绿色奥运做出我们的贡献。
在我们的生活中，每天都要产生大量的垃圾象废纸，塑料瓶，可乐罐，电池等等。 在我们学习"美化环境"这篇课文时，我和几个同学在讨论时发现许多扔进垃圾桶里面的垃圾实际上是可以回收的。 所以我们就想如果能把垃圾进行分类就太好了。我们把想法告诉了班主任并受到了老师的大力支持 .于是我们几个成了垃圾分类的志愿者。首先我们找来三个大箱子，把他们放在教室的一个角落里。一个用来装废纸，一个用来放塑料制品和可乐罐，还有一个用来收集旧电池。在老师的帮助下，很快全班同学都加入到垃圾分类的活动中来。 在一个月内我们就收集了三箱子废纸，一箱子电池和一箱子塑料瓶。这些垃圾卖了28元 ，我们用这些钱买了几棵小树栽在了学校的周围。我们的行动受到了校领导的高度赞扬。现在我们仍然坚持垃圾分类活动，我们以为改善环境出了一份力而自豪！
世界相信北京，要实现全世界对北京的期盼，北京还有许许多多工作要做。但我们有信心把北京建设成为一个绿色的城市。现在北京的面貌日新月易，相信在不远的将来，北京将会成为全世界关注的焦点。我们一定会抓住这次机遇并为之全力以赴。在2008年到来之前我们一定让北京的天更蓝，水更绿，空气更新鲜！

常怀一颗感恩的心
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, honorable judges and distinguished guest! this is alex time! ha-ha…my topic today is to show our gratitude to people around you.
Then what is gratitude? at the moment a well-known song comes into my mind.yes, that is called heart of feel grateful.my heart is filled up with gratitude because i’m with you/your make me courageous to be myself from cradle to the grave/so now i wanna thank for destiny/i’ll cherish the flower when it blooms until falls.the poetic lyric tells us that gratitude is actually a state of mind.Once upon a time, the pilgrims took the may flower ship to north america.they started a new life there although a lot of difficulties and hardships they encountered.after a long-time work, they got a big harvest.the pilgrims had a feast in 1621 near plymouth, maachusetts, which is often referred to as the first thanksgiving.people show their sincere gratitude towards the god, the nature, the earth, the river, the indians and themselves.moreover the 1621 feast has become a model for the thanksgiving celebration in the united states.so we can see gratitude is an action totake.How can we expre our gratitude? it’s never a simple question to answer.gratitude is a rare jewel, not a piece of cake, i know.but how can we expect such big events happening now and then? how can we be ready to say thank you ahead of time? how can we always hope to be grateful to everything and everyone for their dignity and generosity? sometimes i may ask to myself.is it moral? is it honest? is itbeneficial? is it neceary? or the most interesting one, is it ridiculous? ha-ha…so inmy opinion, we’d better concentrate on our life’s details.keep your eyes open to your daily life.yes! a shining smile is supposed to be gratitude.a thank-you note iupposed to be gratitude.a soulful watch is supposed to be gratitude.as far as ababy’s crying on his arrival is supposed to be gratitude.and even fallen leaves in autumn are supposed to be gratitude.so the person, who stands here giving you aspeech, is also showing his gratitude.At last, what’s the significance of showing our gratitude? a proverb says that gratitude is the sign of noble souls.wow! until now i am not that kind of giant, but i dare to say that everyone, you and me, has the right and the duty to show our gratitude to the world, no matter rich or poor, happy or sad, young or old.only by doing so can we achieve our human ultimate concern.meanwhile it obviously helps to build up a harmonious society.under the same sky we enjoy the same sunshine and appreciate the same love due to thanking and caring each other.well, does it plato’s paradise?
All in all, a world full of gratitude is preciously expected for thousands of years.why not show our gratitude to people around you? Thank you very much!
