As the first large-scale special museum on the theme of canal culture in China, China’s Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Museum collects, protects, studies canal culture data from four exhibition halls.The four exhibition halls are “digging and change of the Grand Canal”, “utilization of the Grand Canal”, “Along the Canal city” and “canal culture”.It reflects and demonstrates the natural scenery and historical culture of the Grand Canal.At present, the museum collects and exhibits thousands of cultural relics and historical data, fully shows the function of the Grand Canal in the history of the development of the Chinese nation.

The second highlight is people life and culture along the Grand Canal.The Canal Culture Square, where the museum is located, stretches to the bank of the canal.The ancient Gongchen Bridge and the museum form a fine contrast, adding charm to each other.As canal boast paing by every now and then, people can be seen enjoying their leisure time and children playing games on the verdant lawn, all of which make a dynamic part of the museum.
