Tour can be the best enjoyable thing in the world, you can see the most spectacular views and acquire the most interesting knowledge that you may not learn from books. So if we have chance and enough time to have a tour, where will you go? After learning this leon, I found interests in some countries. My first station is France.

Brief on History The Republic of France is a country of Western Europe on the Atlantic Ocean and the English Channel. It was first settled by the Franks after the retreat of the Romans, who had conquered Celtic Gaul in 58-51 B.C.Charlemagne made it the center of his Empire of the West after A.D.800.In the Middle Ages France was split into numerous fiefdoms and kingdoms, most of which were incorporated into the royal domain by the time of Louis XI.Widespread poverty and discontent led to the French Revolution and the end of the monarchy. The First Republic was followed by the First Empire under Napoleon Bonaparte , a period of constitutional monarchy, and a succeion of republics broken by the Second Empire under Louis Napoleon.Much of France was occupied by Germany in World War II.

Wine and Food

France is the world\'s most popular tourist destinations in the world, with one of most renowned capitals Paris, one of the most romantic cities in the world, famous for its landmark Eiffel Tower, world-cla fashion shopping and of course its food and wine.

French wine has been recognized as number one for so long including the famous Champagne that is recognized as the drink of the rich and famous and for celebrating. Then there are the Brandies and Cognacs the drink of a coinsure reputedly Napoleon Bonaparte (one of the most famous conquers in history) favourite drink. Both the red and white wines have their own regional characteristics to suit every palette spoiling you for choice carrying the prestigious labels of recognition.French cooking is taken very seriously to such a level that a top chef is more popular than a film stars, revered and respected at such a high level earning outstanding amounts of money. Most chefs have to undergo an apprenticeship of at least five years before he can become a recognized chef and attend Cordon Bleu cooking universities and schools to learn their trade Many of them then leave and apply their trade in some of the finest restaurants and best hotels in the world including China and are very sought-after.The main base of French cooking is the sauces that flavor the foods, all types using wines and fresh herbs creating unique tastes, making your mouth water at the smell and colors. An important ingredient is garlic the stable ingredient throughout France. There are so many varieties that all have a unique taste, but be wary, they do leave a strong smell on your breath. Paris Paris is the capital and the largest city.It is cosmopolitan city , vibrant and alive, one of the fashion capitals of the world, home to such brands as Coco Channel, Prada, YSL, Dior, Hermes, and Cartier, to name but a few.The world\' s most exclusive shops and boutiques are in abundance, so many famous landmarks to visit that I will explain in more detail for you in a minute. The river Seine is the hub of the city, home to the left bank, lined with cafes that at night transform into a whole new world filled with musicians serenading you with romantic songs to lovers of all ages.It is such a romantic atmosphere .Imagine if you can, relaxed sitting eating your food and sipping your wine with your loved one listening to the music and watching the world go by.Paris, a chance to rekindle the spark of romance for all lovers; and young lovers will find true love in the City of Lovers.

The Champs-Elysees

The glamour of the Champs-Élysées, particularly its upper, is dominated by it\'s by airline offices, car showrooms, and bright, light shopping arcades. Then there\'s still the Lido cabaret , Fouquet\'s high-cla bar and restaurant, and plenty of cinemas and outrageously priced cafes to bring the punters in.At Christmas this is where the fairy lights are.On December 31 everyone happily jams in, in their cars, to hoot in the New Year.Pedestrians have an equal share of the avenue\'s width, with shade from more trees. On the north side, combat police guard the high walls round the presidential Elysee Palace and the line of ministries and embaies ending with the US in prime position on the corner of Place de la Concorde. On Thursdays and at weekends you can see a stranger manifestation of the self-images of states in the postage stamp market at the corner of avenues Gabrieland Marigny. The second destination is the Greek.Greek in my mind is also a mysterious country except China for it has so many legend stories and myths. It is the original place of Olympic games, in many people’s mind, Greek is a holy land which near to the paradise.

Religion and Mythology Greek mythology consists of stories belonging to the ancient Greeks concerning their gods and heroes, the nature of the world and the origins and significance of their religious practices. The main Greek gods were the twelve Olympians, Zeus, his wife Hera, Poseidon, Ares, Hermes, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Demeter, and Hades.Other important deities included Hebe, Helios, Dionysus, Persephone and Heracles (a demi-god).Zeus\' parents were Kronos and Rhea who also were the parents of Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Hestia, and Demeter.Art and Architecture The art of ancient Greece has exercised an enormous influence on the culture of many countries from ancient times until the present, particularly in the areas of sculpture and architecture. In the West, the art of the Roman Empire was largely derived from Greek models. In the East, Alexander the Great\'s conquests initiated several centuries of exchange between Greek, Central Asian and Indian cultures, resulting in Greco-Buddhist art, with ramifications as far as Japan.Following the Renaiance in Europe, the humanist aesthetic and the high technical standards of Greek art inspired generations of European artists.Well into the 19th century, the claical tradition derived from Greece dominated the art of the western world.Philosophy and Literature Ancient Greek society placed considerable emphasis upon literature. Many authors consider the western literary tradition to have begun with the epic poems The Iliad and The Odyey, which remain giants in the literary canon for their skillful and vivid depictions of war and peace, honor and disgrace, love and hatred.Notable among later Greek poets was Sappho, who defined, in many ways, lyric poetry as a genre.Philosophy entered literature in the dialogues of Plato, who converted the give and take of Socratic questioning into written form.Aristotle, Plato\'s student, wrote dozens of works on many scientific disciplines, but his greatest contribution to literature was likely his Poetics, which lays out his understanding of drama, and thereby establishes the first criteria for literary criticism. The Aegean Sea The Aegean Sea is an elongated embayment of the Mediterranean Sea located between the southern Balkan and Anatolian peninsulas, i.e., between the mainlands of Greece and Turkey respectively. In the north, it is connected to the Marmara Sea and Black Sea by the Dardanelles and Bosporus. The Aegean Islands are within the sea and some bound it on its southern periphery, including Crete and Rhodes. The Aegean Region consists of nine provinces in southwestern Turkey, in part bordering on the Aegean sea.The sea was traditionally known as Archipelago the general sense of which has since changed to refer to the Aegean Islands and, generally, to any island group because the Aegean Sea is remarkable for its large number of islands.

In ancient times there were various explanations for the name Aegean. It was said to have been named after the Greek town of Aegae, or after Aegea, a queen of the Amazons who died in the sea, or Aigaion, the \"sea goat\", another name of Briareus, one of the archaic Hecatonchires, or, especially among the Athenians, Aegeus, the father of Theseus, who drowned himself in the sea when he thought his son had died.In the Bulgarian language the sea is also known as White sea , as opposed to Black Sea.This usage derives from the Turkish Ak Deniz (White Sea) and Kara Deniz , which in turn reflects the early Turkish use of the epithets White and Black for South and North.Mykonos Mykonos, the most famous of the islands in greece and one of the world\'s most popular holiday resorts has been welcoming visitors for over half a century.

Mykonos is a grand example of unique cycladic architecture set around a picturesquefishing-village bay.Totally whitewashed organic cube-like buildings fit closely together to form a kind of haphazard maze of narrow alley ways and streets. The earthen colors of the bare hills which surround the town\'s gleaming whitene is set between the aura of an incredibly blue sky and even deeper blue sparkling sea.Its many well preserved windmills and hundreds of tiny red-roofed churches adds a flavor of culture and custom to the scene, enhanced even further by many museums and the historical ancient site of nearby Delos.Together with being friendly and open people, the locals have a healthy understanding of what it means to have a good time.Put this together with all the island\'s other qualities and it is no wonder Mykonos has been often named \"the jewel\" of the Aegean Sea.By the pre often distorts the facts. Some of the recent publicity Mykonos received for being very expensive, full of gays and even a drug capital is in fact far from accurate.Efforts made by the local police force to curb drug abuse have kept this common tourist-resort problem under control through the introduction of a well-organized undercover network. The modern gay society exists in every corner of the world but only gravitates to locations that are uniquely beautiful and socially tolerant. As the island does have a long established gay scene this clearly suggests Mykonos is both. The fact of the matter is, the majority of visitors to the island are non-gay.Santorini Santorini is a small, circular archipelago of volcanic islands located in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km southeast from Greece\'s mainland. The largest island is known as Thera, forming the southernmost member of the Cyclades group of islands, with an area of approximately 73 km2 and a 2001 census population of 13,670.It is composed of the Municipality of Thira and the Community of Oía .These have a total land area of 90.623 km2, which also includes the uninhabited islands of Nea Kameni, Palaia Kameni, Aspronisi, and Christiana.Santorini is eentially what remains of an enormous volcanic explosion, destroying the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island, and leading to the creation of the current geological caldera. The island slopes downward from the cliffs to the surrounding Aegean Sea.On the fourth side, the lagoon is separated from the sea by another much smaller island called Therasia; the lagoon merges with the sea in two places, in the northwest and southwest. The water in the centre of the lagoon is nearly 400 m deep, thus making it a safe harbour for all kinds of shipping. The island\'s harbours all lie in the lagoon and there are no ports on the outer perimeter of the island; the capital, Fira, clings to the top of the cliff looking down on the lagoon. The volcanic rocks present from the prior eruptions feature olivine and have a notably small presence of hornblende. It is the most active volcanic centre in the South Aegean Volcanic Arc.The island is the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history, The eruption left a large caldera surrounded by volcanic ash deposits hundreds of feet deep and may have led indirectly to the collapse of the Minoan civilization on the island of Crete, 110 km to the south, through the creation of a gigantic tsunami.Another popular theory holds that the Thera eruption is the source of the legend of Atlantis.

Tourism itself is an attractive thing for many of people, so in general, course related to travel is interesting enough, so does this course. At the very beginning I thought it was a pity to have leons without textbook. However, after the first cla, my thoughts was changed.Without text books we can be more free to enjoy this kind of travel for free, things we learned perhaps will be much more than that from books. Teacher has used various of measures to give each lecture. We watch videos, discu with others and share with each other.I believe that before we had this leon, most of us more or le knew something about other countries ,other areas; we may knew a country’s climate, what does it famous for, what did happened in its history and so on.However by learning this subject, we might have a deeper understanding or even new findings and opinions of these countries.Every time can be a discovery tour to the world, nature, human civilizations. We were shocked by the great beauty of Switzerland and Greek; we feeling the enthusiasm of Brazil; We watching the purify white snow world in Ruia; we admire and praise the gift of art of Spain...In this cla, although we just learned few countries, but each of them was not just the knowledge I got but also a piece of good memory of mine. This leon can be a way to know more about the outside world.By those videos we can not only appreciate their beautiful scenes but also get reflections of their politics, their economics, their cultures.Maybe we can get some apocalypse from them, it is a opportunity to find our distance with others, to find our shortcomings and weaknees. The proce of having this course is quite happy. We discued about those different festivals; we argued on whether the Red Square is larger than Tian an men Square; We doubted if those strange food can be eat.It is a happy time to spend with our teacher and clamates. It is a beautiful, unforgettable and a meaningful proce.
