On Water Shortage

The Prevalence of Western Holidays
Many young people in China today prefer Western holidays to traditional Chinese festivals.Christmas is now celebrated by the younger generation all over China, and it has become especially popular as a romantic holiday for boyfriends and girlfriends or young married couples.Valentine\'s Day is also extremely popular, and even Halloween is being celebrated now.
This phenomenon has actually developed quite naturally in recent decades due to our educational system\'s focus on English study and therefore on English-speaking cultures.To many students, Western culture has become a symbol of self-expreion and freedom from restraint.Celebrating Western holidays has become a way for students to expre their love of something different from traditional Chinese culture, and to have fun together with their own generation.

rubbish every day.However, there are fewer college students paying attention to its claification. In fact, waste separation is vital to creating an environment-friendly campus.First, waste separation does great contribution to the environmental protection.Since some of waste is recyclable, while other is unrecyclable, if all the

From this graph, we can learn that the number of paengers travelling by air has increased from 1980 to 2010 in the whole world.In 1980 there were le than 5 percent of paengers travelling by air.However, by 2010, the number incredibly grows to 35 percent. There are several reasons that may account for this.Firstly, the economic globalization greatly propels world-wide communication which is usually realized by air transportation.Secondly, as we all know, air transportation is much more time-saving, which is of vital importance to people nowadays.Last but not least, people’s higher income ensures that they can afford to travel in a more comfortable and luxurious way.As far as I am concerned, the boom in travelling by air is an inevitable trend of modernization.With the development of human society, high-end consumption is gradually shifting into ma consumption and therefore more and more people are travelling by air.

Nowadays, as computers are finding their way into every household, more and more people have acce to the Internet.In fact, the internet has become such an indispensable source of information that many people totally turn to it for solution whenever a problem arises.
Admittedly, the Internet is of great use in settling certain problems.However, over-reliance on it has potential negative effects.To begin with, people obseed with it are likely to become internet addicts, which severely affects their life.Secondly, the information available on the Internet is not completely accurate, and the mistaken information is definitely misleading.Last but not least, with the Internet, people tend to neglect reference books and become too lazy to solve problems on their own.
Personally, I agree that the Internet does bring convenience to us, yet its negative effects are also evident.Therefore, we should use it moderately and wisely.After all, we still need other sources of information in pursuing knowledge.

Nowadays, most graduates are faced with a tight job market, so many people think that new graduates should lower their job expectations.After all, it is more practical for them to accept a worse-than-expected offer than remain joble after graduating.Furthermore, whatever job new graduates get, they can obtain valuable working experience, getting confidence for more demanding jobs in the future.
However, some othesr argue that new graduates lose their grounds if they lower job expectations.They believe that a good beginning is half the battle.In this sense, new graduates should start their careers from an expected point.In addition, the long-term investment in education should not be aimed at a low return.
Personally, I side with the former opinion.It is an indisputable reality that today’s university students are losing their shine, so degrees and diplomas cannot guarantee a new graduate’s succe any longer.Lowering job expectations demonstrates a more positive approach to job hunting taken by new graduates.
