(1)Every week, every employed man and woman in Britain has to pay the State a certain sum of money as a compulsory contribution for National insurance and National Health, in return for which the State provides certain allowances and services, e.g.in times of sickne or unemployment.

Youku, Tudou Soar on Acquisition News [1]The deal is expected to be finalized in the third quarter in 2012, when the two companies together would control more than a third of China’s online video advertising market.Youku Inc(YOKU) and Tudou Holdings Ltd.(TUDO) both soared Monday after Youku, China’s most- popular online video site announced plans to acquire its long-time rival Tudou in a $1 billion stock deal.

Analysts say the move will help Youku lower costs for licensing and transmitting content.Under the terms of the agreement, Youku shareholders and ADS holders will own approximately 71.5 percent of a newly combined entity, Youku Tudou Inc., and Tudou shareholders and ADS holders will own 28.5 percent.[3]“Under completion of the strategic merger, Tudou will retain its brand and the independence of its platform, while helping reinforce and improve the video busine of Youku Tudou Inc.,” said Gu Yongqiang, founder and CEO of Youku, “The cooperation will generate synergistic effects in multiple aspects, bringing the authorized video contents to a wider range of user groups.”
