My Mother is my Top Concern
Good afternoon, honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen:
The topic of my speech today is “My mother is my top concern”.
I am a new student.As a fresher, perhaps here in my speech I should be talking about how excited I was about my new life and study at university and how I should try to adapt to the new circumstances.But to tell you the truth, what I am now most concerned about is my mother.
Let me tell you why.I am from the remote Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and what is special with me is that I am from a single-parent family.I have only my mother around me.One month ago, I left my home and my mother for a college education.It’s the first time I have been so far away from home and, like most new students, I am homesick.But my concern for my Mum is not just that I mi her.During the Seven-day National Holiday, when all other roommates were happy at home with their family, only I was left alone in the dormitory and all that was in my mind was the sweet and sour memory of my dear mother and what I did during the holiday was to think of my mother.
I thought of how my Mum’s face was bright with pride when I paed the College Entrance Examination.What a bright smile she had! I know that everything I have achieved or will achieve should be attributed to my Mum.
Ever since I was a young child my mother has been giving me teaching and care as a teacher and friend.Not until I have become an adult did I realize how special she is.The older I get, the more I realize what an important influence she has been in my life.Life is meaningle without her.In my heart, my mother is the entire world.
My dear friends, that is my complex and concern for my mother, which, I think, is a special beauty, a beauty beyond words.
I gue what I want to say today is “Thanks, Mum!”
