A software engineer alone, for instance, cannot poibly launch rockets/a policy/a plan/a piece of software from scratch.The team has to consist of people who are capable of carrying out market research to gain an idea of consumer requirements and demands, who are able to design the products in a way that can entice/attract maive numbers of end-users, and who can market the products to the general gamers.

Granted, social skills do play an important role in certain non-profeional fields of discipline.Nonethele, a significant proportion of job positions still demand an adequate mastery of profeional knowledge to accomplish the required job descriptions.Brain surgeons are needed to have sufficient knowledge of the related brain mechanisms involved in the functioning of the brain; lawyer are required to be familiar with a comprehensive range of state laws and regulations; architects have to understand perfectly the physics of force in construction of buildings.Poeion of social skills may facilitate the cooperation of many different technicians working on the project, but a succeful team project is more heavily reliant on the efforts invested by each individual technician.

整篇文章所采取的态度还是认为社会技能对于人们要实现工作上的成功还是非常重要的，主要有两个分论点。首先，随着新兴行业的崛起以及现有的行业不断细化，很多工作已经不需要足够多的专业知识。反而，要成功地完成很多的工作任务则需要好的交流技能和人际交流技能。现实生活中，其实很多的工作都是如此。一名出色的销售人员并不需要去理解他们所销售产品的具体的制造流程。如果想要成交，他们只需要销售人员去说服潜在的客户，去跟他们讲解自身产品的竞争优势和特点是其他产品所并不具备的。一名出色的管理人员并不需要理解复杂的管理学的理论知识，因为管理学的理论与实践并不一致。管理工作本身与课本所需要的理论知识有着本质的区别。管理者的责任是需要与下属和上级沟通如何做一件事情，如果他们遇到了问题和困难，应该如何提供一些可行的解决方案。其次，很多工作的内容和复杂程度要远远超出一个人自身的能力范围。因此，团队合作对于实现这些复杂的任务非常的重要。只有当每个人都发挥自己的长处和优势，整体团队的效率才有可能被最大化。比如说，一名软件工程师不可能独自一人从头到尾地把一套软件发行出来。这需要一个团队的力量。比如说，需要有人去做市场调研，去了解消费者的要求和需求，需要有人去设计产品能够吸引大量的客户并且把产品推销到广大的用户当中。
反过来说，社交技能在一些非专业领域里面还是扮演了很重要的角色。尽管如此，大量的工作依然需要专业知识来完成这些工作。脑外科医生需要足够了解脑部结构和功能的知识才能进行手术；律师需要了解各种各样的法律法规去为客户辩护；建筑师需要理解基本的物理知识来建楼。生活技能确实能够促进工作的完成，但是项目的成功最终还是依赖于每一个人的努力。
