Meredith voiceover【Meredith Grey，即主角中的主角。】: The game, they say a person either has what it takes to play, or they don\'t.My mother was one of the greats.Me, on the other hand...I\'m kind of screwed.这场竞争（这里指外科医生的工作），参加的人要么是有本事，要么什么都没有，我母亲曾是其中的佼佼者，而我呢，就有些惨了。

Bailey【她是住院医生，也是几个身为实习医生的主角们的“导师”，以下是她第一次出场时对他们的“教导”，看上去很严厉的样子，其实呢，我只想说，她是个太好的人，看过GA的朋友们肯定懂的。】: I have five rules.Memorize them.Rule No.1: don\'t bother sucking up.I already hate you, that\'s not gonna change.Trauma protocol, phone list, pagers.Nurses will page you.You answer every page at a run.A run, that\'s rule number two.Your first shift starts now and lasts 48 hours.You\'re interns, grunts, nobodies, bottom of the surgical food chain.You run labs, write orders, work every second night till you drop and don\'t complain! On-call rooms, attendings hog them.Sleep when you can, where you can, which brings me to rule No.3, if I\'m sleeping, don\'t wake me, unle your patient is actually dying.Rule No.4, the dying patient better not be dead when I get there, not only will you have killed someone, you woke me for no good reason, we clear? 【背景：第一天上班前，Meredith在酒吧结识了Derek，并有了一夜情，然而，另她十分尴尬的是，那位Derek是她上班医院的主治医生，也就是她的bo哦，于是第一天上班遇到Derek后就这样了~】 Meredith: Dr.Shepherd.谢博德医生。
Derek: Dr.Shepherd? This morning it was Derek.Now it\'s Dr.Shepherd.谢博德医生？今早还是德里克呢。
Meredith: Dr.Shepherd, we should pretend it never happened.我们要装作什么都没发生。
Derek: What never happened, you sleeping with last night, or you throwing me out this morning? Because both are fond memories I\'d like to hold onto.什么没发生过，是你和我上床，还是你今早把我赶出去？但这两件事我可都想记着。
Meredith: No, there will be no memories.I\'m not the girl in the bar anymore, and you\'re not the guy.This can\'t exist.You get that, right? 不，什么都不要记得，我不是酒吧里的女孩，你也不是那男的。这不现实，你明白，是吗？ Derek: You took advantage of me and now you want to forget about it.你吃了我豆腐后，就想甩掉我。 Meredith: I did not take我没吃-【可怜的Meredith，每次都说不完就被打断了，有时候觉得Derek很贫啊，但若是没这个男人的话，Meredith又会如何呢？他懂她。】 Derek: You want to take advantage again? Meredith: No.You\'re an attending.And I\'m your intern.Stop looking at me like that.不，你是主治医生，我是你实习医生，别那样看我。 Derek: Like what? 哪样？
Meredith: Like you\'ve seen me naked.Dr.Shepherd, this is inappropriate.Has that ever occurred to you? 就像我没穿衣服。谢博德医生，这很不合适，你没想过吗？
Burke: Today, pull your balls out of your back pocket.Let\'s go.What are you waiting for, suction? 今天把你的恐惧都抛开，开始行动，在等什么？抽吸啊！

Cristina: Surgery is hot, it\'s the Marines, it\'s the macho, it\'s hostile, it\'s hardcore.Geriatrics is for freaks who live with their mothers and never have sex.手术很性感，很像军人，有男子气概，有挑战性，很难征服。老人病科是给那些和父母住一起、没有性生活的怪胎们呆的地方。
Katie（一个病人）: But I can\'t sleep.My head\'s all full.但我睡不着，脑袋里满满的。
Meredith: That\'s called thinking.Go with it.这叫做思考，边想边睡吧。
【背景：Cristina和Meredith闹不和，因为Meredith抢了她也有可能参加的手术。个人觉得这段吵架很给力，其实也主要是Cristina在说。】 Meredith: I\'ll tell him I changed my mind, you can克里斯蒂娜- Cristina: You know what, you did a cutthroat thing, deal with it.Don\'t come to me for absolution, you want to be a shark, be a shark.干了坏事就得承认，不要求我原谅你，要坏就坏到底。 Meredith: I\'m not - 我没有- Cristina: Oh yes you are.Only it makes you feel all bad in your warm gooey places.No, screw you.I don\'t get picked for surgeries ‘cause I slept with my bo, and I didn\'t get into med school ‘cause I have a famous mother.You know, some of us have to earn what we get.你当然有，你只觉得良心不安而已，去死吧你，我没因为和上司上床而被选中，没因为有位有名的老妈上医学院，我们就得自食其力。
【背景：面对第一天的实习，Meredith和George似乎过得都不很顺利，有得也有失，俩人倒是聊得投机。我想说，有时候，表面上看上去失去的多了些，其实是得到了些什么，更深刻的东西，用心，相信。】
Meredith: I wish I wanted to be a chef, or a ski instructor, or a kindergarten teacher.我真希望我是位厨师，或者滑雪教师，或者幼儿园老师。
George: You know, I would\'ve been a really good postal worker.I\'m dependable.You know, my parents tell everyone they meet that their son\'s a surgeon, as if it\'s a big accomplishment, a superhero or something.If they could see me now...我宁愿是位很棒的邮递员，我很可靠。我父母告诉人们，他们把儿子培养成外科医生，就像大功告成一样，超级英雄之类的。如果他们看到我这样„
Meredith: When I told my mother I wanted to go to medical school, she tried to talk me out of it.Said I didn\'t have what it takes to be a surgeon.That I\'d never make it.So, the way I see it, superhero sounds pretty damn good.我跟我妈说想去读医学院时，她劝我不要去，说我不具备外科医生的素质，我永远无法胜任，所以在我看来，超级英雄听起来一点都不好。 George: We\'re gonna survive this, right? 我们会挺过去的，对吗？

Meredith voiceover: I can\'t think of any one reason why I want to be a surgeon.But I can think of a thousand reasons why I should quit.They make it hard on purpose.There are lives in our hands.There comes a moment when it’s more than just a game…And you either take that step forward, or turn around and walk away.I could quit, but here’s the thing, I love the playing field.我想不出任何我要做医生的理由，但是我能想出一千个理由不做医生。每个决定都如此艰难。生死在我们手中。到了某个关头就不再是竞争。你要不跨出那一步，就是掉头离开。我可以退出，可现况是，我爱这片竞技场。 【当我们爱上什么时，无论多大的障碍，总是坚信会击碎它，因为只这“爱”一个理由足矣，其他的神马都是浮云。】

Cristina: We don\'t have to do that thing where I say something, and then you say something, and then somebody cries, and there\'s like a moment...我们没必要这样，即，我说点什么，你说点什么，然后有人哭了，像有那么一个时机„ Meredith: Yuck.真肉麻。
Cristina: Good.You should get some sleep.You look like crap.很好。你应该睡一会，你看起来糟透了。
（继续片尾独白） Meredith voiceover: So, I made it through my first shift.We all did.The other interns are all good people, you\'d like them.I think.I don\'t know, maybe.I like them.Oh, and I changed my mind.I\'m not gonna sell the house.I\'m gonna keep it.I\'ll have to get a couple of roommates, but it\'s home, you know? 于是，我熬过了头一天的工作。我们都熬过了。其他的实习生都是好人，你会喜欢他们，我是这么认为的。不知道，可能吧，至少我喜欢他们。我改主意了，我决定不卖房子，我要留着，我要找几个室友，但那还是家，是吗？
