Students have grasped many basic knowledge of English through their study in primary and junior high school.Especially during the three years in junior high school, the students have accumulated certain knowledge and made up a simple system of English knowledge.They stored up a number of vocabulary and grammar.And also have many practices in listening, speaking, reading and writing.Therefore, they have the ability to study more and get further development. T: At the very beginning, I want to know how much you know about an quake. Q1: What would you take with you if a quake happened? Q2: What kind of damage can an earthquake cause? S: buildings are destroyed; people are killed; families are broken… T: Let’s have a look at some pictures of such terrible site.(Pictures of quakes) T: (The last picture is monument of Tangshan quake.) Do you know what this is? Step3.Pre-Reading T: 30 years ago, on the day July, the 28th, a terrible disaster suddenly happened, and the beautiful Tangshan was removed from the map.This is Tangshan quake.Does any body know something about Tangshan quake? T: Let’s read a news report about the famous quake.Step3.While-reading 1.Skimming & Scanning Get the students comprehend the paage quickly and accurately, and meanwhile help the students to form a good habit of reading.T: First please skim the paage fast to obtain/ get a general understanding of the whole paage.And underline the answers to the following questions.

T: we see that the new Tangshan has been set up.What is needed to rebuild Tangshan.T: Though the disasters destroy buildings, people’s lives, but it can not destroy the love among us.Step 5 Sum up Today we have learned some knowledge about earthquake.We learn about what the signs before an earthquake and the damage caused by a terrible earthquake.We read the text and know what is the text talk about.So you have a little acquaintance about the text.Next leon we will study the detailed language in the text . 教学反思：
通过上课的的情况发现在导入环节时应该调动学生的积极性，但环节应该再简洁一些，学生和老师的配合不能达到预期目标，还需要老师的积极引导，活跃课堂气氛。对于阅读课
（一）重点应放在阅读技巧的训练，指令要明确，要清晰理清文章思路和结构，引导学生自己去理解课文大意，为精读做好准备。此外，课堂信息量过大，重点显得不突出，很多环节可以删除，要把握好时间。
