Learning Experience about Intercultural Communication
Time flies, I have studied the subject which is Intercultural Communication for one term.And after learning it, I accumulate various kinds of information about intercultural communication.What’s more, with the knowledge of intercultural communication, I find that there are some differences on communication between China and other countries in the world.
To begin with, the teaching system between China and other countries is different.The teaching system in China is conservative, but other countries’ is opponent.For example, I began to have Oral English claes in the college, owing to the foreign teacher, at the beginning; I can’t accept this style of teaching system.In the cla, students should take an active part in all kinds of activities and also talk something with the teacher or other students.And the center of the cla is the student not the teacher.However, in China, in the cla, the teacher is the center and the students are audiences.
In addition, people in America will accept or reject something offered directly and the hoste offer food usually only once, but people in China mustn’t accept food or other things the first or the second time it is offered, and refusal the third time is definitive.Therefore, in some cases, Americans often have a lot of perplexity and frustration in the negotiations or other situations.
Last but not the least, people in China are influenced by the traditional thinking and they respect the elders in the country, however, Americans are different from us.In America, people needn’t offer the elders their seats, because the elders think they are still strong and healthy and needn’t help.In addition, Chinese often want to do their best to help the elders in the society， moreover, the elders happily accept their kindne.
All in all, after studying Intercultural Communication, I gain a lot of useful information.What’s more, I can put the knowledge into practice in the future.
