Our Future: A Battle between Dreams and Reality Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:

When I was in the primary school, I have a dream.I want to invent a device which could bring you from one place to another in no time at all. When I was in the secondary school, my dream was to study in my ideal university. And when eventually I got into the university, my dream was to graduate. How pathetic! When we grow up, we dream le and become more realistic. Why? Why do we have to change our dreams, so, so in order to let it be \"fulfilled\"? Why do we have to surrender to the so-called \"reality\"? What is the reality actually?

Ladies and gentlemen, the reality is not real.It is a barrier keeping us from all the poible fantasies.Flying, for example, had been a dream to mankind for thousands of years.A hundred years ago, \"man could not fly\" was still regarded as the \"reality\".Now if that was really the reality, what did the Wright brothers do? How did some of you get to Macao? Only when we believe that the reality is not real can we soar with our dreams.

People say that our future is a battle between the reality and our dreams. And if, unfortunately, Mr.Reality wins this war, then I see no future of mankind at all.AIDS will never be curable as this IS the reality; People living in the undeveloped countries will suffer from starvation forever as this IS the reality; Disputes among different countries would never be settled as this misunderstandings and intolerance IS the reality.Ladies and gentlemen, how many of you have a dream of being able to make a lot of money? Please raise your hands.Oh, quite a number of you! Actually, ladies and gentlemen, this is not a dream, but a task.Every one of us has to make a living, right? Anyway I hope your task will be accomplished. How many of you think that you have already fulfilled your dream and that you don\'t dream anymore? Dear adjudicators, what do you think? C.S.Lewis once said, \"You are never too old to dream a new dream.\" So for our future, please dream and be unrealistic.

Now that I am a university student, my goal is to graduate with excellences. But at the same time, I have a dream deeply rooted in our future. One day, people living in the areas now sweltering with the horror of wars will

able to sit with their families and enjoy their every moment. One day, people from the rich countries are willing to share what they have with those from the poor countries and those from the poor countries will eventually be able to make their own happy living themselves. One day, different cultures in this age of globalization will coexist with tolerance and the unfriendly confrontations among them will be eliminated. One day, the globe will share the dream with me and we will all contribute to making our dream come true. One day, our dream will defeat the reality! Thank you very much.

ASK:Now in the age of the Internet, reading books does not seem as important as it once was.Do you think people can learn as much on the Internet as they can by reading books? Which method do you prefer? ANSWER:Thank you very much. And hello again ladies and gentlemen.Actually, I don\'t really agree with the first sentence of this topic:\" In the age of the Internet, reading books does not seem as important as it was once.\"Why? Why is it the case? Why is it the situation, ladies and gentlemen? Actually, Internet or books are just like tea or coffee. They are similar, but they are different.University students nowadays love to use the Internet to search for information when they are working with their eays.Like, last semester, when I was working with my physics eay, I logged into Google and I searched for \"NEWTON\" and all the laws and theories of Newton just popped out and I can choose whichever one I like to use.But when I walked into the library, all the books came out and I have to choose which one to read. How inconvenient! Maybe you can say at this moment,\"Oh,Internet is better, books no use.” So I have to use the Internet, right? But let\'s see the things in another way.I love traveling a lot and I love to bring a book with me.And I love to read my Da Vinci Code when I was having my trip on a bus or on a ship.Actually, whenever it is, wherever you go, whatever you are doing, you can take out a book and read if you feel like doing so.Now who will bother to take a laptop and switch it on, and search for the Internet connection, and look for stories to read. How inconvenient! So at this very moment I think it\'s quite dangerous for me, because I think I\'m unable to answer the question in the topic \"Which method do you prefer, Internet or books?\" because I love the feeling of conjuring a hundred pages of Harry Potter, more than scrolling down the screen; but at the same time I love the feeling of searching the things, the speed of my searching for things on the Internet,

my time in the library. So in this age of Internet, in this age of modernization, in this age of civilization, why do you have to force someone to choose between the Internet and books? I prefer using both of them.Thank you very much.

ASK:Contestant No.13.Thank you very much for encouraging us to be unrealistic dreamers(Thank you) and not surrender to Mr.Reality.(hehe..) With the traffic jam getting worse--especially in big cities--I\'m actually very interested in your childhood dream:T o invent a device that can move people around easily. Is this still your dream? If not,why do you give it up? Is it because it is considered unrealistic? Thank you.ANSWER:Thank you very much. This is not my dream now.Not because it is (not), unrealistic.Maybe you can say it\'s unrealistic. But if I,my interest is still inventing this device, I will keep on trying my best to invent this decive. My changing of my dreams is because of the fact that I realized my interest does not lie in science. Now I am a law school student. But last semester, as I\'ve just mentioned, I was working on my physics eay paper and actually last semester I was a student in the school of aerospace.Oh my god, aerospace! And I\'ve changed my major to law school. And so the changing of my dream is actually because of the fact that I realize my interest lies in, maybe communicating with others, or having interactions with the others.Science is very fantastic, but it\'s not my piece of cake.Yes, so that\'s the reason.Thank you very much.ASK:Thank you very much for your speeches.Talding about Internet,I just want to know your view.Do you believe everything is ture on the Internet? If not,why not?

ANSWER:.Thank you very much.I don\'t believe everything is true in the Internet. This is a straight forward answer. And if not,why not?Because I don\'t believe them. And I have an experience of meeting someone on the Internet who claims to be a girl.Yes and,a very sad, sorry story for me.But yes,for this reason,I think I don\'t believe that everything on the Internet is true. But I will try my best to discover if that was true or not,or that was falsified or not.Thank you very much.

ASK:Contestant No.13.Thank you very much for your speeches. You were talking about dreams being realistic or unrealistic and your current dream is to graduate from law school. But what is your realistic or unrealistic dream after that? What do you want to use your graduation in law for? ANSWER:Thank you very much.Actually,my dream,as mentioned in the last part of my speech,is to share my feelings, share my dreams with the globe. And when all the people in this Earth have my dream, they will work

hard for the social betterment,I believe in that.So after I\'ve graduated from law school,I think I will try my best to persuade the others to,to accept my dream, and that is exactly why I am here.I am here trying to persuade you all,I think you all, after listening to my speech, hopefully, you can try to understand my dream and that we are all a member of the global village, and we have to try our best to work hard for the social betterment of all. This is why I want to be,saying, speaking something here, and that is my goal--or realistic or unrealistic dream after I\'ve graduated.I think I will try my best to du what I\'ve said before.Thank you very much.

My Tour Agency

This morning, I would like to argue for true ecological tourism, or, ecotourism. To me, a true ecotour is a tour that allows us to expre our paion for nature and for our cultural heritage.(No introduction)

I love traveling. One of my most memorable trips was climbing the Great Wall. There, I cherished seeing people of all races and ages gathered on this ancient edifice.I cherished

seeing these people smiling at each other, making way for each other, and reminding each other to watch their steps.

While I love traveling, I\'m also sad to see the damage tourism has done to nature and to our historical relics. Many tour agencies like to label their busine \"ecotours\".But they have cut down trees and filled up rivers in order to build roads, hotels and cable cars so as to attract tourists. And on their tours, some people pick flowers, catch birds and throw away food that might poison animals.

This is not ecotourism at all.True ecotourism involves responsibility. While we enjoy the beauty of nature, we should also help protect it.Here let me share an experience.

Once, I joined others as young volunteers in an outing. The excursion took us to the peak of a mountain where we got a beautiful view of the city.We were, however, not ordinary tourists. As we were climbing, we were also picking up the trash left on the ground by other climbers. Finally, we carried, in large bags, all the trash down the mountain.

The excursion was exhausting, but I believe, after this experience, not a single one of us will ever litter any tourist spot. Moreover, when we were cleaning up the mountain slope, we caught eyes of many others. Some of them might see us as foolish, but more of them, I believe, will take note of the need to protect the environment.

My experience was one of an ecotourist. We took, but we also gave.

However, on the idea of ecotourism, there are many misunderstandings.I once

telephoned several travel agencies to inquire about ecotours. And here is how it went:\"Hello! \"

\"Hi, I\'m interested in the ecotour you\'ve advertised.\"

\"Oh, yeah, ecotour.\"

\"I\'m wondering if we should do anything special as ecotourists.\"

\"I\'m sorry? Oh, nothing… Just enjoy the scenery.\"

Every conversation ended up with \"enjoying the scenery.\" No one mentioned \"protecting the wildlife,\" \"respecting local customs,\" or \"preparing a bag for garbage.\" None of them made any mention of the obligation and responsibility on the part of tourists.

Like other students, I have had many dreams of what I would like to do after graduation. One of these dreams is to run a travel agency. In this travel agency, I would do three things: call to action

First, I would like to have a staff of people who love nature as they love their mothers and can pa on to the customers the same kind of love.

Second, I would like to let the customers appreciate the beauty of nature in those natural reservations, safari parks and wild forests, and show them how they can contribute in return for the air, water and nourishment that nature provides.

Last but not least, I\'d encourage the customers to work as volunteers as I once did. They would live close to nature by cleaning up the natural resorts and planting trees as mementos of their visit.

I still remember when I was standing on the top of the Great Wall, I could see in some distance many bare mountains with no trees, nothing green. It is my dream that one day I would organize tours for areas that are suffering from erosion and deforestation, and we would plant trees there.Ecotourism should be an experience of learning and offering-it

should not be just seeing the famous sites and posing for photos. On the flag of my agency, I would like to print this motto:!

Take nothing away except memory; leave nothing behind except your trees.

Join my tour, my dear friends! It will make China green-and make this world a better place to live.

Thank you very much.

Another clarification re: persuasive speech

A student asked me a couple of questions which I answered hurriedly as I was going to another cla. They were good questions, so I thought I\'d restate my answers for the cla.

Student Question:Do we have to come up with a new argument for Body III, counter-argument?

Teacher Response:No.Remember that your counter argument in Body III is about giving a retort to a counter-argument to your topic. So, in Body I and II you have 2 arguments and supporting statements regarding your topic. This is different than Body III.In Body III you don\'t have to give a new argument to support your topic. In Body III,

you do have to explain why the counter-argument is wrong. You can do this by using a narrative figure (ex.historical or famous person narrative) or statistics or other facts.Example-

Topic:Do your homework

Argument I:If you do your homework you will be smarter.

Argument II:If you do your homework you will get a better job.

Counter Argument: Some studies say, doing homework is a waste of time.A Harvard study claims that doing homework is a waste of time and you can\'t learn from doing homework.

Retort to Counter Argument: 1) This study is wrong.Have you heard of Albert Einstein?Einstein read books and research papers and calculated formulas everynight. He called it his homework.That\'s how Einstein discovered the theory of relativity.OR2) Yale and Princeton studies show that doing homework for 3 hrs every night is the best way to learn.

Student Question:What is the difference between my arguments (Body I&II)and my practical steps (Body IV)?

Teacher Response:topic.Your practical steps are different and they are not arguments.

Example -

Topic:Do your homework

Argument I:If you do your homework you will be smarter.(General Statement) Support to Argument I:

Argument II:If you do your homework you will get a better job.(General Statement) Support to Argument II:

Counter Argument: (see above)

Practical Steps: Now that you know how doing homework will help you in life, you may ask yourself how do I do it?1)Set a daily schedule.Make a set time everynight for at least 3 hrs for study.2) Get a course curriculum from a teacher at the beginning of claes. For each chapter, Preview.Study.Review.

------------------

Of course. My examples are short. In your actual speech you will have to be more detailed.Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Arthur

Good morning, judges, teachers and follow students.Could I like to share with you my greatest wish.but first, please allow me to take you back in time to the year 1955, the setting, Montgomery, Alabama, the United States of America. It started out as an ordinary December afternoon.42 year-old African American Rosa Parks boarded a bus and sat down in the front row.She thought over, the days and friends, her child at home, and how she enjoyed her simple life. She was content, but when she thought about the prejudice and discrimination that she had to face everyday, she felt a mends pain. How she wished to live in the world of true harmony! “Ehen, ehen(咳嗽声)”, Rosa was startle to see a white man standing beside her.He was starring at her coldly, but she managed to smile and ask politely: “May I help you sir?” “Get out of the seat!” the man snarled back.“Excuse me?” Rosa was shocked.

What right did the man have to speak to her in such a cruel tone? Just because her skin was dark colored and his was fair. And as equals, he certainly didn\'t have any right to order her out of the seat, or did he? Well, surprisingly, in 1955, lots like Rosa Parks did not have as many rights as whites.Due to racial discrimination, Rosa’s refusal to give up her seat to a white man, led to a call to the police, and she was arrested jailed and convicted a violating segregation laws. But Rosa did not surrender to prejudice, instead she chose to fight discrimination and work alongside thousands of others for her wish to rid the world of racism. And now, half a century later, we are still fighting for the same wish.Traces of discrimination have gradually disappeared, but prejudice lives on.I too, share the wish of Rosa Parks, but I too, wish that prejudice comes to an end.And my friends, prejudice will come to an end if we all work together as a whole.

Let us not judge others by their skin color or appearance, but rather by their content of their character.Let us learn to enjoy different cultures and then we’ll enjoy a world of diversity.I wish to look around on a lonely day, and see a blending of colors.Harmony, traveling among people of all skin colors.

Our Future: A Battle between Dreams and Reality Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen: When I was in the primary school, I have a dream.I want to invent a device which could bring you from one place to another in no time at all. How did some of you get to Macau? Only when we believe that the reality is not real can we soar with our dreams.People say that our future is a battle between the reality and our dreams. One day, people living in the areas now sweltering with the horror of wars will be able to sit with their families and enjoy their every moment.

Our Future: the Garden of One Flower or Many Flowers I have a friend who just started his career as a teacher in a primary school.Weeks ago, he asked me to raise a topic for his mid-term composition test.I was curious why he chose me to give a topic, because he is a teacher himself. He said that he wanted something the students can really show their different ideas.Without thinking, I told him to let his students write about what they would do if they were given one million US dollars. My friend left with satisfaction, and I fell into my old memories. It reminded me of my old days in primary school. We were learning to do narration in the fifth grade\'s Chinese cla.Our teacher required us to write a composition with the topic \"My Most Unforgettable Day\" with our real experience. When papers came back, half of the students wrote about the first day they came to school. The rest of the compositions were all about picking money on the streets and giving it to policemen, or helping a blind man cro the street.Of course I was among them. But I remember very clearly, that one student, only one student gave something different. He wrote about the day that he first kied a girl.I read his composition. After all these years, I can\'t recite every word, but I dare to say, that even Shakespeare, may not be able to write as equally good when he was 11 years old.The composition was written out of real experience and genuine emotions.Contrary to those fake stories, it sounds real and natural. But the kid was scored zero. Our teacher thought the content was unhealthy, I\'m sure you know the meaning of this Chinglish word \"unhealthy\".That was 15 years ago. When you read those compositions, and you feel that half of our population is blind, so all those kids could have a chance to help a blind man cro the street, and every one of us has a hole in our pocket, so all those kids could have a chance to pick up the lost money and give it to policemen.A few days ago, my friend sent me an e-mail of all the copies of his students\' compositions.I have to say, I was sadly disillusioned.Among those papers 40% said that they wanted to donate the money to people in poverty, so their children can go to school. The rest compositions are much more alike. Some wanted to support the panda protection project, some wanted to buy books to enlarge their knowledge. One student even said that he would like to spend his one million dollars on the effort to cure AIDS.I was more astonished to find that a ten- year-old child knew what AIDS really is.We all have been kids, and we knew what we had once wanted. But, there was no composition about spending the money on video games, nice clothes, chocolates, ice-creams and expensive toys.Like 15 years ago, students won\'t tell the truth of their hearts. It has always been our dream to open our children\'s hearts. We encourage them to describe their dreams, and acted as if we are ready to accept their thoughts. But the fact is that, children are scared by the zero marked on their papers. They are trained to say what we want to hear.People compare children to flowers of tomorrow. And parents dream about the scenery that roses, tulips, daffodils flourish in the future. But down the road we are going on, in the future, or the future of future, only one kind of flower can be found. And that\'s the flower we like most.

Dream vs.Reality Last month, I happened to watch an interview of a Chinese student studying abroad. At one point the hoste asked: \"For how long have you been away from home?\" \"Three years,\" he said.\"How do you keep in touch with your parents?\" \"We wrote emails,\" the young man replied proudly.\"Then I gue your parents learned how to send an email just because of you, right?\" Having heard this from the hoste, the young man was speechle for a long time.Indeed, in the world today, it is not easy for the elder generation to keep up to date with the rapid development of technology.

This story reminded me of my concerns when I first left home for college three years ago: My parents don\'t understand English. They couldn\'t identify the buttons marked in English on our remote controls. So when I was away from home, who would help them select Chinese subtitles when they wanted to watch a foreign movie on our DVD? My parents don\'t use pinyin, the phonetic symbols for Chinese. Therefore, they couldn\'t input Chinese characters into their cell phones using the keyboard.Without me, whom could they depend on when they needed to reply to a text meage? I worried a lot, so before I left, I carefully prepared a flow chart on how to operate the DVD player, and stored as many template meages in my parents\' phones as I could poibly think of. Fortunately, my efforts did work for my parents. However, what makes me more optimistic is that society at large is becoming more concerned about the elder generation, and the fruit of technological innovation is no longer believed to be an aet only for the young people.Today, with simple Chinese instructions on the remote control, even my 80-year-old grandfather can play his favorite TV program on a DVD.Last year, with the money I earned from a part-time job, I bought my mother a new cell phone which supports handwritten meages instead of inputting words through a keyboard. And now, my mother no longer has to use the templates meages I\'ve stored for her, instead, she now sends me meages as long as 300 words. The joy I have when reading those text meages is inexpreible, not only because of the words she writes, but also because our technology has indeed become a real bleing in her life.

Two years ago, the counter service in our neighborhood bank was replaced by an ATM station. With those intelligent machines, people can carry out all their regular banking services. My father, however, was not used to such a change.Thereafter, he always walked three blocks further to a bank with a counter to use their services. In the future, however, this will no longer happen, because when I went to that ATM station again last spring festival, I found a delightful change: the terminals there have adopted a voice guidance system. While I was there, I noticed a grey haired man using the voice instructions. And despite his hesitation between preing the buttons, he left the bank with a satisfactory smile. What a marvel! My vision for the future was unfolding before my very eyes.At that moment, I rejoiced thinking of my father, someday, standing there using the banking service.I rejoiced thinking of myself that when I become old, the new inventions can still ease my life rather than making the life harder.

Now that I am a university student, my goal is to graduate with excellences. But at the same time, I have a dream deeply rooted in our future. One day, people living in the areas now 6)sweltering with the horror of wars will be able to sit with their families and enjoy their every moment. One day, people from the rich countries are willing to share what they have with those from the poor countries and those from the poor countries will eventually be able to make their own happy living themselves. One day, different cultures in this age of globalization will coexist with tolerance and the unfriendly confrontations among them will be 7)eliminated.One day, the globe will share the dream with me and we will all contribute to making our dream come true. One day, our dream will defeat the reality! Thank you very much. Thank you.

问题:Now in the age of the Internet, reading books does not seem as important as it once was.Do you think people can learn as much on the Internet as they can by reading books? Which method do you prefer? 回答:Thank you very much. And hello again ladies and gentlemen.Actually, I don\'t really agree with the first sentence of this topic: “In the age of the Internet, reading books does not seem as important as it was once.\" Why? Why is it the case? Why is it the situation, ladies and gentlemen? Actually, Internet or books are just like tea or coffee. They are similar, but they are different.University students nowadays love to use the Internet to search for information when they are working with their eays.Like, last semester, when I was working with my physics eay, I logged into Google and I searched for \"NEWTON\" and all the laws and theories of Newton just popped out and I can choose whichever one I like to use.But when I walked into the library, all the books came out and I have to choose which one to read. How inconvenient! Maybe you can say at this moment,\" Oh, Internet is better, books no use.\" So I have to use Internet, right? But let\'s see the things in another way.I love traveling a lot and I love to bring a book with me.And I love to read my Da Vinci Code when I was having my trip on a bus or on a ship.Actually, whenever it is, wherever you go, whatever you are doing, you can take out a book and read if you feel like doing so.Now who will bother to take a laptop and switch it on, and search for the Internet connection, and look for stories to read? How inconvenient! So at this very moment I think it\'s quite dangerous for me, because I think I\'m unable to answer the question in the topic\" Which method do you prefer, Internet or books?\" because I love the feeling of conjuring a hundred pages of Harry Potter, more than scrolling down the screen; but at the same time I love the feeling of searching the things, the speed of my searching for things on the Internet, more than wasting my time in the library. So in this age of Internet, in this age of modernization, in this age of civilization, why do you have to force someone to choose between internet and books? I prefer using both of them.Thank you very much.

问题:Contestant No.13.Thank you very much for encouraging us to be unrealistic dreamers(Thank you) and not surrender to Mr.Reality.(hehe..) With the traffic jam getting worse--especially in big cities--I\'m actually very interested in your childhood dream: To invent a device that can move people around easily. Is this still your dream? If not, why do you give it up? Is it because it is considered unrealistic? Thank you.回答:Thank you very much. This is not my dream now.Not because it is (not), realistic.Maybe you can say it\'s unrealistic. But if I, my interest is still inventing this device, I will keep on trying my best to invent this device. And so the changing of my dream is actually because of the fact that I realize my interest lies in, maybe communicating with others, or having interactions with the others.Science is very fantastic, but it\'s not my piece of cake.Yes, so that\'s the reason.Thank you very much.

问题:Thank you very much for your speeches.Talking about Internet, I just want to know your view.Do you believe everything is true on the Internet? If not, why not?

回答:Thank you very much.I don\'t believe everything is true in the Internet. This is a straight forward answer. And if not, why not? Because I don\'t believe them. And I have an experience of meeting someone on the Internet who claims to be a girl.Yes and, a very sad, sorry story for me.But yes, for this reason, I think I don\'t believe that everything on the Internet is true. But I will try my best to discover if that was true or not, or that was falsified or not.Thank you very much.

问题:Contestant No.13.Thank you very much for your speeches. You were talking about dreams being realistic or unrealistic and your current dream is to graduate from law school. But what is your realistic or unrealistic dream after that? What do you want to use your graduation in law for? 回答:Thank you very much.Actually, my dream, as mentioned in the last part of my speech, is to share my feelings, share my dreams with the globe. And when all the people in this Earth have my dream, they will work hard for the social betterment, I believe in that.So after I\'ve graduated from law school, I think I will try my best to persuade the others to, to accept my dream, and that is exactly why I am here.I am here trying to persuade you all, I think you all, after listening to my speech, hopefully, you can try to understand my dream and that we are all a member of the global village, and we have to try our best to work hard for the social betterment of all. This is why I want to be, saying, speaking something here, and that is my goal--or realistic or unrealistic dream after I\'ve graduated.I think I will try my best to du what I\'ve said before.Thank you very much

Our Future: A Battle between Dreams and Reality

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:

How did some of you get to Macau? Only when we believe that the reality is not real can we soar with our dreams.

People say that our future is a battle between the reality and our dreams. And if, unfortunately, Mr.Reality wins this war, then I see no future of mankind at all.AIDS will never be curable as this IS the reality; People living in the undeveloped countries will suffer from starvation forever as this IS the reality; 4)Disputes among different countries would never be settled as this misunderstandings and intolerance IS the reality.

Ladies and gentlemen, how many of you have a dream of being able to make a lot of money? Please raise your hands.Oh, quite a number of you! Actually, ladies and gentlemen, this is not a dream, but a task.Every one of us has to make a living, right? Anyway I hope your task will be accomplished. How many of you think that you have already fulfilled your dream and that you don\'t dream anymore? Dear 5)adjudicators, what do you think? 问题:Contestant No.13.Thank you very much for encouraging us to be unrealistic dreamers(Thank you) and not surrender to Mr.Reality.(hehe..) With the traffic jam getting worse--especially in big cities--I\'m actually very interested in your childhood dream:To invent a device that can move people around easily. Is this still your dream? If not,why do you give it up?Is it because it is considered unrealistic?Thank you.

回答:Thank you very much. This is not my dream now.Not because it is (not), realistic.Maybe you can say it\'s unrealistic. But if I,my interest is still inventing this device,I will keep on trying my best to invent this decive. My changing of my dreams is because of the fact that I realized my interest does not lie in science. Now I am a law school student. But last semester,as I\'ve just mentioned,I was working on my physics eay paper and actually last semester I was a student in the school of aerospace.Oh my god, aerospace! And I\'ve changed my major to law school. And so

the changing of my dream is actually because of the fact that I realize my interest lies in,maybe communicating with others,or having interactions with the others.Science is very fantastic, but it\'s not my piece of cake.Yes,so that\'s the reason.Thank you very much.

问题:Thank you very much for your speeches.Talding about Internet,I just want to know your view.Do you believe everything is ture on the Internet? If not,why not?

回答:Thank you very much.I don\'t believe everything is true in the Internet. This is a straight forward answer.

问题:Contestant No.13.Thank you very much for your speeches. You were talking about dreams being realistic or unrealistic and your current dream is to graduate from law school. But what is your realistic or unrealistic dream after that? What do you want to use your graduation in law for?

回答:Thank you very much.Actually,my dream,as mentioned in the last part of my speech,is to share my feelings, share my dreams with the globe. And when all the people in this Earth have my dream, they will work hard for the social betterment,I believe in that.So after I\'ve graduated from law school,I think I will try my best to persuade the others to,to accept my dream, and that is exactly why I am here.I am here trying to persuade you all,I think you all, after listening to my speech, hopefully, you can try to understand my dream and that we are all a member of the global village, and we have to try our best to work hard for the social betterment of all. This is why I want to be,saying, speaking something here, and that is my goal--or realistic or unrealistic dream after I\'ve graduated.I think I will try my best to du what I\'ve said before.Thank you very much.

Our Future: A Battle between Dreams and Reality

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:

C.S.Lewis once said, \"You are never too old to dream a new dream.\" So for our future, please dream and be unrealistic.

Now that I am a university student, my goal is to graduate with excellences. But at the same time, I have a dream deeply rooted in our future. Thank you ladies and gentlemen. My topic today is \"Walls and Bridges\".

I\'m studying in a city famous for its city walls.

All visitors to my city are amazed by the imposing sight of the city walls, silhouetted by the setting sun with gold and shining lines. With old cracked bricks patched with lichen, the walls are weather-beaten guards, standing still for centuries in protecting the city.

Our ancestors liked to build walls. They built walls in Beijing, Xi’an, Nanjing and many other cities, and they built the Great wall which snakes through half of our country.

They built walls to ward off the enemies and evil spirits.

This tradition has been maintained to this day as we still have many schools and parks walled off from the public.

I grew up at the foot of the city walls, and I have been loving them since my childhood.

For a long time, walls were one of the most natural things in the world. My perception, however, changed after a hiking trip to the Eastern Suburbs, a scenic area of my city.

My clamates and I were walking with some international students.

As we walked out of the city, we found ourselves flanked by taller and taller trees which formed a huge canopy above our heads.

Suddenly an international student asked me, “where is the entrance to the Eastern Suburbs?” “We’re already in the Eastern Suburbs,” I replied. He seemed taken aback.

“I thought you Chinese have walls for everything.” His remark set off a heated debate.

At one point, he likened our walled cities to “jails”, while I insisted that the Eastern Suburbs was one of the many places in China that had no walls.

That debate had no winners, but I did learn a lot from this international student.

For instance, he told me universities like oxford and Cambridge were not surrounded by walls, the campuses were just a part of the cities.

I have to admit that we do have many walls in china, and as we are developing our country, we must carefully examine them, whether they are physical or intangible.

We will tear down some walls, and we will keep some of them.Let me give you an example.A year ago, when I was working on a term paper, I needed a book on busine law and found a copy in the law school library.

However, the library turned down my request with a cold shoulder, saying “you can’t borrow this book.

You are not a student here.” In the end, I had to spend 200 yuan buying a copy, meanwhile, the copy in law school was gathering dust on the shelf. At the beginning of this semester, I heard that my university had started not only to unify all its libraries but also to link them up with libraries of other universities, so my experience will not be repeated.Barriers will be replaced by bridges.

Through an inter-library loan system, we will have acce to books from any library. With globalization, with china integrates into the world, I believe many of these intangible walls will be knocked down.

I know globalization is a controversial iue, and it’s hard for us to say whether it is good or bad.But one thing for sure, it draws our attention to china’s physical and intangible walls and force us to examine their in the modern world.

Then what about the walls in my city and other cities? Should we tear them down? Just the opposite. My city, like Beijing and other cities, is actually making a great effort to preserve the walls.

These walls now attract not only historians and archeologists, but also schoolchildren trying to study our history and cultural heritage. The walls have turned into bridges to our past and to the rest of the world.

If the ancient builders of these walls were still alive today, they would be proud to see such a great change in the roles of their walls.

They are now cultural bridges that link East and West, South and North and all the countries of the world.

Our cultural heritage will survive globalization.Thank you very much ladies and gentlemen.

Good afternoon,ladies and gentlemen:

I have a friend who just started his career as a teacher in a primary school.Weeks ago,he came and ask me to raise a topic for his mid-term composition test。I was curious why he chose me,because he is a teacher himself. My friend said that he wanted something that the student can really show their different ideas.Without thingking,I asked him to let the students to write about what they would do if they were given one million U.S.dollars.My friend left with salisfaction and I fell into my old memories. It reminded me of my time in primary school. In our Chinese cla,our teather required us to write a composition with the topic.“My most unforgettable day”with our real experience. When papers came back.half of the students wrote about the first day they came to school,The reat were all about picking up money on the streets and give it to policemen or helping a blind man cro the street.of course,I was among them. But I remember very clearly that one student,Only one student, gave something different:He wrote about the day that he first kied a girl.I read his composition. After all these years,I cant remember every word ,but I dare to say that shake spear may not be able to write equally well when he was 11years old.But the kid was scored zero. The composition was written out of real experience and genuine emotion. But our teacher thought the content was “unhealthy”,I am sure you know the chinglish meaning of this woed “unhealthy”.That was 15 years ago.you read about these compositions and you feel that half of our populations are blind, soall these kids can have a chance to help a blind man cro the street and every one of us has a hole in our pocket,So all these kids can have a chance to pick up lost money and give it to policemen. A few days ago,my friend send me an e-mail of all the copies of his students compositions.I have to say,I was sally disillusioned,Among those papers,40% students said that they would like to donate their money to people in poveny so their children can have a chance to go to school. The rest were much more alike. Some wanted to support the panda protection project and some wanted to buy books to enlarge their knowledge. One student even said that he would like to spend his one million U.S.dollars on the effert to cure AIDS.I was more than astonished to know that a ten-year-old child knew what AIDS really is.Of course, that was a long time ago.

It has always been our dream to open the hearts of children. We enciyrage them to cleseribe their dream and we act in the way as if we are always ready to accept their thoughts.however, children are scared by the zero marked on their papers. They are trained to say what we want to hear.People compare children to flowers of tomorrow. And parents do dream about the scenery that roses, tulips.daffodils flourish in the future.but down the road we are going on in the future,or the future of future, only one kind of flower can be found. And that is the flower we like most.Thank you.

After thinking for a long time, I realize it’s not a good idea to downsize the topic form “our future” to “any individual’s future”.But since I actually did it, I thought it couldn’t be any worse if I intend to talk about history all over my speech.

As I perfectly agree with Shakespeare in “what’s past is prologue”.And this prologue starts our play for the future.

So our story, at the beginning, takes us back to Thomas Edison. Many would say Edison’s greatest invention the light bulb, is the result of a determined course accompanied by hand labor and the spirit of never giving up.As we all know he said “a genius is 1% of inspiration with 99% of perspiration. But the amusing fact was Edison actually stumbled acro the phenomenon that electric-currents would heat up fibers and then glow when he was working with his gramophone. So light bulb, we can say is an “unintentional invention”.

Yes you might point out that mirror thing in his mother’s operation story could has worked as an incentive for him to dream of something brighter. But it is hard to imagine that little boy as he was holding the mirror in front of candles saying to himself : I’m going to invent something call “light bulb” someday.I gue not, most likely that what we got is a bigger candle, so the future can not be planned, sometimes no even the way we dream of it.In our pursuit for succe, it is a match that favors neither the swift nor the strong, but time and chances. As mark twain said “name the greatest inventors: accident”.

But why do we still call these inventors great when all they need was a little luck? They are great because they did not live by their lucks, their greatne came form another thing: perseverance.Back to Edison, anyone working with electricity couldn’t have mied the phenomenon-heated up wire is a daily occurrence. But it was Edison – and Edison only who tried out more than a thousand materials and got about the same number of failures and succeeded in the end.

Chances help those who help themselves. If Edison had been an opportunist, most likely he would live the rest of his life selling light bulbs. But he didn’t, indeed sometimes that however much perspiration you have paid that 1% of inspiration just dose not strike your head, like my experience in writing my speech. But more often the case is than those who had the 1% of inspiration wasted it in their daydreaming. So luck alone - like being a big winner in a casino- that makes you rich, but it dose not make you great. It is what you do with the chance that makes a difference. So after such a long prologue, the play is still left to us to finish and this is a play we never got tired of for future is a stage of infinite tales. And to all the great directors of our future play, remember this question, do we each have a destiny or are we just rather flowing an accident life in the breeze? May be it’s both, may be both can happen at the same time.

And I never stop believing that every solid step I made will lead somewhere eventually.Actually it did lead me here and would call it an unintentional destiny.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. My topic today is “Never lose the vision of the reality”.Talking about dreams and future, I would say dreams should never be too far away from reality.Detaching from reality, laking solid or pratical actions any future plan or dream project will be nothing short of daydreaming,or, at most, well- intentioned thinking.

Here I am reminded the year of 2000, when 191 member states of the United Nations held a World Summit Conference, which make a declaration known as the Millennium Development Goals. The goals of 2015, which every member state pledged to meet, were such as, elimination of hunger and poverty, drastic reduction in child mortality rates, reversing a spread of AIDS and other deadly diseases, etc. Now, six years later, almost half way to the final year of 2015, do we see any signs of realizing these goals? Today, half the world-about three billion people, still live under two U.S.dollars a day; about 270 million children have no acce to safe water, 11 million children die before they reach the age of five each year.Do we come to harne the spread of AIDS? The answer is also “no”-and indeed AIDS is spreading faster and wider than ever before. What is even worse, with the wake of the Iraqi War, the nuclear crisis in Iran and unsettled situations in many places, the visions of us young people today are often limited-but the limited vision that we do have and care about every day cannot change the conviciton that this world does not seem to promise a very bright future before us.

Who is to blame for all this? Of course we can blame the governments:how they„disappointing they all seem to be: in one moment they are pledging to build a better future for us, and the other moment they’re igniting wars, killing more innocent people. But don’t you think we ordinary folks should also take some responsibilities for, say, elimination of hunger and poverty? When we are quickly rushing to schools, work, or places of entertainment, how many times do we stop just to hand over some food to the deprived on the streets? When we are reading newspaper, browsing for news about what is going on in this world, how often do we stop to think about actual ways that we can do to help the people who’re suffering from various disastrous situations? In fact, how much have we done to help the people who are in need just around us?

Dreams are certainly beautiful and indispensable in our life, for they give us inspiration and motivaition.Future plans are certainly neceary, for they provide us with goals and guides. But what is most beautiful„and „ important is an action on a day-to-day basis. In order to realize our dreams or make our future goals realized, we need to put our words into deeds and base our vision on reality. In other words, while human beings should be, first and foremost, idealists and thinkers, we should also be, and all the more, realists and practical doers.Thank you.

Honorable judges,distinguished guests,ladies and gentlemen,good afternoon.

We are only seven minutes from Doomsday. In February 2002,the Doomsday Clock,on which midnight represents destruction by nuclear war, was moved two minutes ahead. Now, humankind is only seven minutes from nuclear annihilation.Ladies and gentlemen,I believe world peace is a dream cherished by each and every decent human being.Yet the reality is that there has never been a time in history when we are so vulnerable. The fear of nuclear proliferation, the fear of the spread of weapons of ma destrution to many more countries is on the rise.Nuclear weapons are the enemies of humanity.Their effects transcend time and space ,poisoningthe earth and its inhabitants for generations to come.A single nuclear bomb can be thousand times more devastating than the largest conventional explosives.A single nuclear weapon can ruin tons of soil and vegetation.A single nuclear weapon can dedtroy an entire city of over 120,000 defensele civilians and leave about twice that number of people to die in slow agony.Nuclear weapons ,with their indiscriminate, maive destructive power, can now destroy the world several times over.Terrified by the catasrophic power of nuclear weapons,I dare not think what the world would be like if this dark and monstrous power should fall into wrong hands. If Adolf Hitler\'s tyrannical regime had acquired the first functioning nuclear weapon, history would have to be rewritten. And even worse, what if the terrorists go nuclear? What if the perpetrators of the Sept.11th horrors, whose intent to inflict destruction is unconstrained by human feelings;and whose capacity to inflict is enlarged by technology, could strike again and this time with \"dirty bomb\"?If we hesittate in the face of the threat, when we should have acted as early as poible, then we are condemned to live under ever lasting lament and horror.Hence, the time has come has come for us to do something .Together in partnership,we should stem the tide of nuclear proliferation for human security and survival. It is time for us to turn down the heat on nuclear dangers by endorsing the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and establishing nuclear-free Zones. And more importantly,we should integrate non-proliferation efforts into our education,so that the next generation will learn more about nuclear dangers and their inherent risks and they would understand better than us that human future is as much about scientific advancements and enviromental protection as it is about arsenals.Ladies and genetlemen,in a time when there\'s a dark cloud hanging over the future of humanity, when our hope for a peaceful world may be broken,we\'ve got to work together to change the situation.We\'ve got to integrate our efforts into Non-Proliferation regime. And we\'ve got to make it better. And ladies and genetlemen,I know you may say I am a dreamer, but I\'d say I\'m not the only one.I hope some day you\'ll join us.And the world will live as one.Thank you very much.

Good afternoon,ladies and gentlemen:

Two thousand years ago,the Chinese philosopher,Confucius, advocated a harmonious society, without selfishne and conflicts.fifteen hudred yeas later, the English auther,Thomas More wrote about an imaginary place in which everyone enjoys pease, equality and common wealth. These and various other ideal worlds share something in common:peace, low and harmony.Such has been the dream of humanbeings throughout the world and we have long been working towards this goal.History has witneed numerous wars and ever today some parts of the world are still suffering from the threat of conflicts.Such a dream, however, has only been going stronger insdead of going awry. When the athletes from North and South Korea walked into the Olypic fields hand-in hand, holding one flag of the Korea peninsula, they together lit the torch in an effort to end half century’s conflicts.

It is true that there are still many problems in the world- problems of too complicated roots to be solbbed at once.As we all know, some small countries are being bullied by big powers now and then, but at the same time we protests being staged all over the world,The nuclear power has caused ubstable equilibrium, but the cold war has made us all sware, what a desolate future the world would have if nuclear war were to break out.Racial diserimination and religious confliets still prerail, but as far as I know ,no religion in the world teaches.people to hate or fight ,Indeed, leatity is far from ideal, but the problems are not altogether unsolvable we human beings are bleed with reason and we still have the confidence that the light of reason will eventully disperse the dark and shadows. With economy growing at an amazingly fast rate in the last two decdes,China is now facing both tremendous opportunities as well as challenges. An important change of mindset is that China is learning to be more critical of its own problems and more concerned with addreing these problems, Public opinion has never been so active and constructive as it as now, self-criticism and a sense of crisis is a sign of maturity and self-confidence.Chiese vision aries are now advocating green GDP and attaching great importance to social development that empnasizes human well-being.So,it’snot hard to see the direction in which China is moving pollcy making is getting more down to earth corruption is still being fought hard and concepts such as due proce and human rights are working their way into public consciousnes. So,with all these efforts going on,sure and steady, there is good reason to belive that China’sfuture will be bright.

Last week,a forum was leld in Beijing, the theme is “Chinese dream and a harmonious world.”the meage is that all Chinese has a dream and that dream is peace and prosperity and the realization of this dream will contribute to harmony of the whole world.thank you very much.

Good morning , ladies and gentlemen ! Before Chinese and Western civilization came into close contact , the Chinese people had always longed for a life depicted in traditional Chinese paintings .Those paintings present a harmonious coexistence of people and other life forms .Regarded as the eence of ancient Chinese philosophies , harmony has been deeply rooted in the minds of the Chinese people .

On the one hand , it has contributed to the unique continuity of Chinese civilization. On the other , Chinese people became too much contented with their achievement to desire any further changes .As globalization deepens .it is bound to affect our ideal of harmony .First , globalization urges China to speed up its modernization , which threatens our regard for the harmony between Man and Nature .For instance , many dams and hydropower stations are being built for economic benefits at the expense of the well-preserved natural habitats .However , ecological malpractice of such kind goes against the notion of hamonious coexistence in ancient Chinese philosophies .More than 2000 years ago , long before the concept of environmental protection came into being .

Dujiang Weir , a great irrigation project was built in southwestern China\'s Sichuan province .It succeeded both in controlling floods and in facilitating the agriculture without posing a threat to the environment .Moreover , globalization has brought with it intense competition , which threatens our regard for the harmony among people .Traditionally , moderation is a golden principle , presiding over inter-personal relations in China .Today , however , motivated to come to the top , some people become so self-centered that they choose to sacrifice love , friendship and even family ties .Last but not least , diverse cultures have met in China as a consequence of globalization .Therefore , a clash of cultures becomes inevitable .Unfortunately , the past decades have witneed a huge lo of cultural heritage in China .In cities , like Beijing and Xi\'an , hundreds of century-old Chinese-style houses are being demolished to make room for skyscrapers , shopping malls and eight-lane expreways .From these examples , we see the dishamony brought about by globalization .Yet it is not globalization that is to blame , but rather our altitude .As long as we approach globalization with hamony in mind , its benefit will outweigh its cost .Take my hometown , Hangzhou , for example .Thanks to the strenuous efforts made by the municipal government in achieving eco-development , various kinds of water birds have refurned to the West Lake , calling it home again after years of migratin elsewhere .From the lake bank , we see skateboarders and trick cyclists showing off together with people flying kites and kicking shuttlecocks on the plaza nearby .Therefore , although they compose a picture quite distinct from traditional Chinese paitings , this picture conveys a modern sense of harmony in this era of globalization .

Ladies and gentlement , to conclude , I would like to quote from British philisopher Bertrand Ruell .In contrasting Chinese and Western civilizations , he observed \" The distinctive merit of western civilization is the scientific method ; the distinctive merit of the Chinese is a just conception of the ends of life .It is these two that one must hope to see gradually uniting .As we see the tremendous progre China has been making drawing on experience abroad , we may also expect the traditional Chinese value of harmony to enrich the world .I look forward to the time when Ruell\'s prophecy comes true .Thank you very much .第十二届全国英语演讲比赛 第2名 钟石 中国传媒大学

Ladies and gentlemen,good morning:

I\'m from Sichuan Province, which is also the place pandas come from.Last synner,I volunteered to be a tour guide for a group of kids from a rural elemenary school, who had been invited by the Chengdu Giamt Panda Breeding Center to see the pandas.Halfway through our trip, a little boy told me that he thought the pandas\' home looked a bit dirty and asked whenther he could clean their enclosures.I was surprised that this boy,who was so desperately in need of help himself, was thinking of helping the giant pandas.I had voluteered to offer him my time and knowledge, and he had volunteered to provide the pandas with a feeling of human warmth.Though different in form both types of help meant something to the respectivers. Many people have an outdated perception of volunteer work aociating it with the 19th century ideal of charitable deeds done by the haves for the have-nots.

However offering help today does not require that one have money, knowledge or materials, and therefore the right to perform volunteer work is not these people. The volunteering spirit she manifested was a natural flow of affection towards people in need and was rellected in every thy thing she had done for each of these five elderly people over the years.

Her example teacher us that the eence and power of the volunteering spirit is not only in offering help to anyone, but also in doing so whenever and indeed, whenever it is needed. In practical terms, this means that we do not have to wait until the tree-planting day to plant a tree for the beeterment of environment.Likewise , we don\'t have to wait untill the trudami hits the headline to help poor people living in south Asia, and we do not have to wait untill the Olympic Games begin to show our hospitality to jour foreign visitors.

Wilston Churchill once said.\"We make a living what we get;we make a life by what we give.\"

Ladies and gentlemen,I hope every one of you earns a wonderful living and gets plenty but I hope every more that all of us by giving people in need part of whatever were bleed with, can lead a fulfilling life we will never regret having lived.

That\'s all for my speech.Thank you.

Honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon.I believe we need a longer March in China. On March 5th, 2005,I volunteered to visit an orphanage with may clamates. The kids there were very excited about our visit and we had a great time together.A little girl impreed me most. She followed me everywhere and kept asking me questions of all kinds. Before we left the orphanage, I said to the little girl ,\"Maybe, I can make one of your wishes come true.If you had just one wish, what would it be?\" After a short hesitation, she replied,\" I wish......I wish every month was March, because you won\'t come back to me after March.Nobody comes back to me after March.\" I was shocked by her answer.I felt great pain inside and realized that something was not going right. The month of March is called \"the Month of Lei Feng in China.\" Lei Feng was a Chinese soldior admired for his willne to help others. In memory of him, it is advocated that we do some voluntary work in March. Is there anything wrong with \"the month of Lei Feng? Of course not.Helping others through voluntary work is a glorious tradition we should always treasure. However ,one month alone, is not enough to keep the little girl\'s heart warm throughout the year, one month alone, is not enough to bring our love and care to those who are always in need.We need a longer March in China.March should last all year round. What can we do to achieve this goal, then? What can we do to make the little girl\'s dream come true? Here two of my suggestions. The first is, we should continue to promote the idea that when we give, we also receive. We should be grateful to those who need our love and care, for it is through helping them that we receive acknowledgement and respect, and it is through helping them that we realize our personal value and achieve a sense of belonging.I feel grateful to those children in the orphanage.I t was thses children who helped me realize that I am useful and I am needed. My second suggestion is, everybody, if poible , should start doing voluntary work right now.Do not wait until you are free.Do not wait until you get rich.Take action now ,and make a commitment to it.Maybe our small donation to poor children won\'t immediately change their fates.Maybe our smiles we bring to the patients fighting against cancer won\'t immediately relieve their pain. But ,I believe, our consistent and constant efforts throughout the year will surely bring voluntary work in China toward a better future.

Honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen, we are approaching the end of March. When March is over , do we stop giving love and care to those who need it ? When March is over , do we pack up our volunteer spirit and store it in the closet until next year? No, that was not wha we want! Good afternoon ,ladies and gentleman!

When I was little ,I was so idealistic that I dreamed of helping the world by ending world hunger .As I grew up ,thinking that i was too insigificant to affect change ,I just let go of my dream. In all these years,I observed that the older I got ,the le I helped .

Why ?Whether I had legitimate reasons or apologetic excuses ,it remains that I didn\'t held much as i wanted to .

How many of you ,like me ,had grand dreams of affecting the lives of millions of people ?How many of you ,like me ,started turning your attention inward the older ou got ?How many of you ,like me ,became le and le idealistic and more and more peimistic about the ability of one person to make a difference ?

Ladies and gentlemen,do you know about the enviromental crisis? It was this iue that brought my opitimism back and made me remember that one person can make

a difference .I joined a namele team of volunteers to help save the Earth. This team gave me an opportunity to be an everyday volunteer without joining and organzation.

Befor i joined this team ,I was ignorant to the fact that the Earth needed saving. But now i know that we are facting a global crisis .It can be fatal if we overlook the situation.I don;t mean to scare you but by the time i finish my for-minute speech ,400 acres of rainforests will have been cut down .Five years ago .Larsen B,a gigantic piece of ice ,12 times the size of Hong Kong fell into the ocean and melted .Why does it matter ?It matters if we care about the disapparance of Hong Kong and Shanghai from the face of the Earth. It matters because if Antarcties meltes, according to former U.S.Vice President Al Gore ,the sea level will rise by 20feet .That is almost the herght of basketball star Yao ming ,three times over .

I have given you some alarming statistics and painted a grim piture .As alarming and grim as they are ,it was precisely this information that changed my attitude .It was precisely this changed in attiude that gave me a sense of urgency to start volunteering to help save the Earth. It was precisely because i did not want to stake my children\'s fufure on my current actions that made me not decide to do somthing ,but to simply do it .Switch off the lights ,turn off the tap ,use le paper ,walk more ,recycle have bacome my hahits .

From this experience ,i have learned that i can be a volunteer and serve the community even if i am not a member of any concrete and physical organization .I have learn that the eence of voluntarism lied not within the organization ,not even within the name of the cause ,but within oneself .I have learned that personal growth is a long proce that begins with ignorance and ends with a change in one\'s behavior.

Along the way ,I\'ve gained the knowledge, changed my attitude and put my knowledge into practive.

Each time i see someone else doing the same thing i am doing ,i am optimistic bacause i know i am one of not hundreds not thousands, but hundreds of millions of members ,i am optimistic because i know that togther we perhaps achieve the greatest goal in the history of mankind .I am optimistic bacause i know that my childhood dream of helping the globe is no longer just a fnatasy.I am optimistic because although i didn\'t end world hunger,my idealism has returned .

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,

The other day I had a call with a friend who went to study in the US.She told me excitedly, “Everything here is tagged Made in China. But I sensed some disappointment in her voice.I haven’t found any Chinese brand so far.It seems that China only produces other people’s stuff. Her words were thought provoking.China, as the world’s factory, performs only the manufacturing segment for foreign brands.“Made in China” has even become a symbol of cheap products. It’s been said that China has to export 800 million shirts to get an airplane. What we are miing is sustainable competence that comes from trademarks, patents and designs.China can only gain a cutting edge in the global arena, of our enterprises move up the value chain and create products of their own. This transformation will be no le like a marathon.Luckily, some Chinese enterprises are already in busine or the long run. They point the way for other enterprises with three strategies: brand identity, innovation of technology and modern management systems. The first strategy was to establish brand identity, which is a company’s personality. The Lenovo Group, the third largest PC maker in the world, was originally known as the Legend Group. When it entered the global market, it found the name Legend was too ordinary and frequently used. The company knew how important it was to establish a brand that would make it stand out. Thus it changed its name into Lenovo, taking what means new in Latin-novo.Now this unique brand is widely recognized around the globe. What follows is the innovation of technology. It can free Chinese enterprises from their dependency on foreign technology and increase added value of their products.Haier, the third largest, largest household appliances maker in the world owes its succe to constant innovation.Over the last 16 years, Haier has invested over 7 billion RMB in technological development.Up till now, Haier still meets its goal by creation over one new product a day, maintaining its upper-hand in the global competition. The fundamental strategy is to establish mechanisms that ensure a smooth transition.Nowadays, modern management system have produced overwhelming advantage. They can ensure efficient division of labor and vitality in the busine cycle. The New Hope Group, an originally family-owned busine, found itself trapped by the limitation and inefficiency of being run by family members together. After the enterprise turned itself into a limited liability company that distributed shares efficiently, its busine started to flourish and became the national leading enterprise for agriculture.China’s growth will not stop merely at manufacturing. With brand identity, innovation of technology and modern management systems, Chinese enterprises will stand strong in the global competition.I believe that one day, my friend in the US together with all the Chinese people around the world, will proudly find abundant products tagged “Created in China” in the global market.

Honorble judges ,ladies and gentlemen,Good morning!

As i stand here speaking English to you .I\'m already globalized.

While shopping ,I see the fair Chine ladies carrying Prada handbags i find they are globalized.Waching Harry Potter on the Lord of the Rings with friends ,yes ,you can anticipate the refrain we are alll globalized! In this era of globalization ,we are one way or another all globalized. But realize this when people\'s heads turn to the fresh thing that globalization literally delivers to our doors the traditional things which we take for granted are forgotten.

So consider Lao Qiang ,an ancient form of opera. It has almost vanishee from the stage and only fewer that twenty people know how to sing it .

So ,how can we discover and explore our traditional culture? How we rejuvenate and share them with the whole world ?Well, there are three factors we need to keep in mind .

To begin with ,the ma media plays a vital role in dicovering our traditional culture and connecting it with the wides poible audience.

One evening in 2005,for example when my father and I watching the final round of the popular TV show Ster Road we both became fans for a contestant named A Bao.We were attracted by his high pitched lenor voice ,his Shansi folk tunes and Shanxi costunes.Aparently we were not his only fans .Star Road has around great popular interest in Shanxi fold music.Such media can help popular audiences to dicover lost arts and introduce people to them for the first time .

The ma media raise people\'s interest in traditional culture ,but it is the performing artists who really develop people\'s understanding of traditional culture.Yang liping dance show Yunan image ,based on the primitive yannan dance style, has had an enormous influence in and out of China .Yang has recovered for us the primitive life in Yunnan. It is the raw and unadomed beaty of nature in her dancing that moves her addience most .

We desperately need profoinal artists andeavor to discover traditional culture to train apprenticex and to project our culture on the global stage .

The third strategic factor in promoting our culture in global compion is an audince who knows how to apprreciate our culture .But today\'s youth-tommorw\'s exptorers- are ill-equipped to appareciate our culture .Take myself as an example :i have no painting or music claes since senior high school:no extrancurricular activities like Chine painting or callingtaphy since primary school. What paltnly little we learn about Chine tradional culture relegated to a few lines and pictures in history books .We need our govermment and school system to give us a better opportunity to embrace our traditional culture and discover its rich legacy for ourselves .

Ladies and gentlemen, the age of globalization is time for culture discovery not cultural extinction .Our traditional culture needs our concern and support to survive .With our combined efforts .We can save our valuable tradition culture from extinction and showcase it ,so it can shinge brightly on the globle stage ,shared and emjoyed by people all around the world !

Ladies and gentlemen:

Take a look at the street:we can see people walkingaround in Nike and Adidas.Beyond the curb, long lines of vechices shouttle like wind over the tar, among which there are names like Mercedes-Benz.Bmw.Toyota and some of the Volkswagen whose price.I\'am afraid is not so \"volks\"at all.they\'re all heading towards the same diredction:the New Oriental School, because the Olypics is coming and learning English is curredntly the hottest way to spend your after-work money and time in town.Everything about this picture is so global that one can hardly tell if it\'s Beijing or Belgium. However, there\'s one grey speck on this picture i just can\'t shift my

eyes away from.It\'s a migrant worker covered with dirt.Pushing a larger cart five times his weight, the man is about my age.His eyes hollow holes, for there\'s nothing but the hardship of survival(in)there.Where was he from? Was he married? Was he smart?Did he go to middle school?Or perhaps even primary school? No one knows. No one seems to care.Ladies and gentlemen,as we all look out to globalization with great

expectation,there\'s also, crisis lying within. And the crisis was not brought onto us from anywhere out there. It was lying in our system and was made by ourseves. Some call it household pemit system, some call it regional bias. But whatever the name is , it\'s the same thing we see in his country:born a countryman always a countryman. And a countryman here is not just a nickname suggesting where you live, it means that you can\'t have a lot of the basic benefits,a public benefits like free

compulsory education and medical insurance like the city men(s) do.It means that you have to be times as outstanding as students from the metropolitans(metropolist)to be admitted into better universities. It means that very much likely,in that magrant workers case, that although you have lived and worked honestly in the city for,like,10

years(but)people still despises you because they think you are somehow inferior. It means that as we\'re all here talking about the globalization and taking heat with the discuion, the majority are out there taking heat and sweating with no idea what globalization is at all.Does learning to compete in the golbal era involve migrant

workers?I believe few would think so,because usually what we care more about are things like trade surplus intercultural communication and Paris Hilton. But does it not involve migrant workers? In 10 years, most of us here will have our children. And so will the migrant workers I saw on the street the other day.I can\'t help wondering, with this globalization gap keep lying between the two of us,can our children work together in the future competition for this contry in the global era?And will this country be able to win this competiton without its rural people, which is 80% (percent) of its total population?

Ladies and gentlemen, they say,it\'s the governments responsibility to take care of them, but I say,to deal with a problem as urgent as this,we will need to enlist any help poible.Apart from government\'s effort, individual care and individual participant(participation)is also required. We might not be able to solve the problem of medical

insurance once and for all, but we can at least start with showing them our respect and concern, and sometimes it takes just a smile.I\'ll never forget that day when I smiled to a migrant worker and he smiled back. His smile was as sincere as that of mine,it makes me feel we are friends for all there years. And aren\'t we,Ladies and gentlemen,aren\'t we friends for all there years, city men or countrymen?Learn to compete in the global area;first learn to take care of our own fellow men.Learn to live with globalization, first live it...first learn it,from those who live without it.

Thank you very much.

The Doors that are Open to Us

Good morning ladies and gentlemen:

The title of my speech today is \"The Doors that Are Open to Us \". The other day my aunt paid me a visit. She was overjoyed.\"I got the highest mark in the mid-term examination!\" she said.Don\'t be surprised! My aunt is indeed a student; to be exact, a college student at the age of 45. Last year, she put aside her private busine and signed up for a one-year, full-time management course in a college.\"This was the wisest decision I have ever made,\" she said proudly like a teenage girl.To her, college is always a right place to pick up new ideas, and new ideas always make her feel young.

\"Compared with the late 70s,\" she says, \"now college students have many doors.\" My aunt cannot help but recall her first college experience in 1978 when college doors began to be re-opened after the Cultural Revolution. She was aigned to study engineering despite her desire to study Chinese literature, and a few years later, the government sent her to work in a TV factory.

I was shocked when she first told me how she (had) had no choice in her major and job.Look at us today! So many doors are open to us! I believe there have never been such abundant opportunities for self-development as we have today. And my aunt told me that we should reach our goals by grasping all these opportunities

The first door I see is the opportunity to study different kinds of subjects that interest us.My aunt said she was happy to study management, but she was also happy that she could attend lectures on ancient Chinese poetry and on Shakespearean drama. As for myself, I am English major, but I may also go to lectures on history. To me, if college education in the past emphasized specialization, now, it emphasizes free and well-rounded development of each individual. So all the fine achievements of human civilization are open to us.

The second door is the door to the outside world.Learning goes beyond clarooms and national boundaries. My aunt remembers her previous college days as monotonous and even calls her generation \"frogs in a well.\" But today, as the world becomes a global village, it is important that our neighbors and we be open-minded to learn with and from each other.I have many fellow international clamates, and I am applying to an exchange program with a university abroad. As for my aunt, she is planning to get an MBA degree in the United Kingdom where her daughter, my cousin, is now doing her master\'s degree in biochemistry. We are now taking the opportunity to study overseas, and when we come back, we\'ll put to use what we have learnt abroad.

The third door is the door to lifelong learning. As new ideas appear all the time, we always need to acquire new knowledge, regardle of our age.Naturally, my aunt herself is the best example. Many of my aunt\'s contemporaries say that she is amazingly up-to-date for a middle-aged woman. She simply responds,

\"Age doesn\'t matter. What matters is your attitude. You may think it\'s strange that I am still going to college, but I don\'t think I\'m too old to learn.\" Yes, she is right.Since the government removed the age limit for college admiions in 2001, there are already some untraditional students, sitting with us in the same clarooms.Like these people, my aunt is old but she is very young in spirit. With her incredible energy and determination, she embodies both tradition and modernity.

The doors open to us also pose challenges. For instance, we are faced with the challenge of a balanced learning, the challenge of preserving our fine tradition while learning from the West, and the challenge of learning continuously while carrying heavy responsibilities to our work and family. So, each door is a test of our courage, ability and judgment, but with the support of my teachers, parents, friends and my aunt, I believe I can meet the challenge head on.When I reach my aunt\'s age, I can be proud to say that I have walked through dozens of doors and will, in the remainder of my life, walk through many more.

Poibly I will go back to college, too.

Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.

Making choices

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your patience.Today I would like to begin with my personal experience.

Before getting enrolled in college, I had been bombarded with suggestions.

\"Take courses of different subjects.Broaden your horizon,\" my high school teacher advised.

\"Dive into campus activities.Have fun!\" a friend said. She was well seasoned in Student Union affairs.

\"Work hard.Get as many ‘A’s as poible.Make your transcript look good!\" my cousin offered.By the way, she was a senior busy hunting for a job. As for my mom, she simply said, \"Take care.Don\'t be too hard on yourself.\"

Composed but hopeful, I eagerly set out for an exciting life at college.Yet very soon, as I pondered these golden rules, I was overwhelmed and bewildered.Such advice all made perfect sense.Yet I couldn\'t figure out what should top my priority list.My first semester at college was stimulating in a somewhat anarchic way.I rushed from library to club, from claroom to tennis court, \"enjoying\", as it were, the freshne of being a freshman at the expense of my sleep.Little by little, however, I became overtaxed and eventually fell victim to the \"Yu Men\" syndrome — \"Yu Men\" being streful misery.Literally, I was overwrought from the preures of work and life at college.I wanted to experience and excel.I wanted everything.Emotionally, I was like an insatiable kid whose hand had got stuck in the candy jar with way too many sweets.

Luckily I didn\'t suffer for too long from my \"get-everything\" malaise.Recently, Mr.Tom Freston, president of the media company MTV came to my school. His talk inspired me.He proudly told us that the average age of his employees is only 28.What\'s the secret behind the succe of his young team? \"Sagacity,\" he told us, \"In other words, being conscious of what one is doing and what one is able to do.\"

Exactly! As a freshman about to be a sophomore, I realize now that our time and stamina don\'t allow us to extend ourselves in all directions. So the moral responsibility of college education is to teach students the art of making important choices. No matter how hard the growing pains are, mastering this art is at the heart of every undergraduate\'s succe, whether in school now or in life later on.

So I am learning to make such choices.Joining this competition, for instance, has been one.I\'ve wanted to fully experience this contest, to make friends, to discover what my age peers believe and to stretch myself in new and unexpected ways.I imagine this is true for most contestants here today. But to do so, we\'ve chosen to set aside pleasures, such as watching TV series \"Friends\" and karaoke evenings, so we could invest more time in more reading, speaking and study.

Yet this competition, by forcing us to take charge of our decisions, has surely helped us define our values, find out what we\'re capable of doing, and learn what best suits our individual development.I believe this knowledge of one\'s own caliber is the most valuable, integral and longest-lasting leon for students in this increasingly competitive world.

As for the challenges and opportunities for us, they will be determined by how adequately our education trains us to gain a clear perception of ourselves, and thereby to make sensible choices that follow.College education, as British philosopher Alfred North Whitehead said, \"Should be energizing as the poet of our dreams and the architect of our purposes.\" Such purpose, self-discipline and vision all hinge on the art of choice-making.

As I look back on the advice received those very first days on campus, I no longer feel perplexed, because I now have my own guideline: Make choices that lead to a clearer vision of who I am, what I can do, and how I may best tap my potential. The horizon is now wide but distinct, and the taste already feels sweet.

Thank you very much!

Prepared Speech Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. At present, my fellow students and I have before us great personal and educational opportunities. At the same time, we are running into a variety of challenges.

Today\'s college education provides us with opportunities for bringing out the creativity and talent that we have within us.This is nurtured both by our learned profeors, and by the growing dimension of knowledge sources, such as the World Wide Web and multimedia sources. Our educational experience is being transformed both within and beyond the traditional claroom. However, challenges still exist.

At the end of every semester, students in my university are required to fill out a questionnaire as a review of the previous semester. The questions usually cover a broad range of college life, from curriculum adjustment to canteen service. And almost every time, the questionnaire includes one eential question, that is: As a college student, what are your major challenges? And almost every answer includes two aspects: studying and profeional. These two challenges will remain our preoccupations as long as we live in such a competitive world.

A series of challenges in our studies start from almost the beginning of our freshman year.We may wonder whether we\'ve chosen the right major. We may wonder if the extracurricular activities add credits to our studies. We may work our heads off to get a glorious A, because B is already mediocre and C is almost unacceptable.Later on we may be competing with our hardworking, intelligent peers, including our best friends to get into an ideal graduate school. All of these sound so familiar and they have somehow made our college education so goal-obseed that we sometimes fail to fully enjoy our educational experience.

Apart from challenges in learning, there are also profeional challenges. The competitive world today has also brought about the \"Knowledge Economy,\" which requires the effective use of knowledge for economic and social development, and also requires skilled and multi-oriented students with a marketable vocational sense. Therefore, sophisticated calculations upon the value of a university degree are being made.Graduate employability statistics are being scrutinized.Programs like resume writing and interview skills are seen as a must.Again as I\'ve said above, when profeional concern dominates our college education, we may lose the eence of our educational experience.

Indeed, facing these two challenges, how can students manage to be what the employers seek and at the same time to enjoy a valuable, insightful and rewarding educational experience?

For me, the solution to the problem lies in what can be called an \"Educational Synthesis\".I remember attending a lecture by Profeor Tu Weiming, director of Harvard Yenching Institute. In his lecture, Profeor Tu argued that the ideal state of college education is to arrive at a synthesis, a combination of specific knowledge, humanistic insight and sense of social responsibility.

Admittedly, there is much to do to bridge the gap between our educational experience in college and the social employment in society.\"Educational synthesis\" can help us narrow the gap.Fortunately, today\'s college education provides us with such a diverse world. From this diverse world we may choose what we want to form our own educational synthesis.

Ladies and gentlemen, as Charles Dickens once commented upon the time of the French Revolution, \"It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.\" And I\'m afraid so it is with our time.

I believe, once we achieve our own educational synthesis, we will be able to transform our challenges into opportunities. We will be able to see the best time of our life. And more importantly, we will be able to see the best time of our nation.Thank you.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.Today I would like to begin with a story.

There was once a physical 1) therapist who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a 2) census about mountain 3) gorillas. These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of 4) poaching and being put into the zoo.She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witneed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we\'ve ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas 5) cuddled their babies.

Yes, that\'s a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs.Dian Foey, who spent most of bet lifetime in Rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.

To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a 6) timele reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment.

Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go.It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur---natural scenes aren\'t natural anymore.Deforestation to heat lodges is devastating Nepal.Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica.Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dre to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks.

All these 7) appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been 8) eroding(侵蚀) our resources.Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 2002 the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world\'s attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment.

Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, 9) plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and 10) invalids(残疾人), Some of them can not afford to send the money but they do.These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. Why? Because they care.Because they still want their Mother Nature back.Because they know it still belongs to them.

This kind of feeling that I have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it, it\'s all coming from a scene to remember, a scene to recall and to cherish.

The other night, as l saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs.I found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to some- thing else, someplace else.a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of gra where no one seem to have been except the deer.

And all those unforgettable scenes strengthened the feeling that it\'s lime for us to do something, for our own and our coming generation.

Once again, I have come to think of Mrs.Dian Foey be- cause it\'s with her spirit, paion, courage and strong sense of our ecoenvironment that we are taking our next step into the world.

And no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our mind, there\'s always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it.

Thank you very much.

This morning, I would like to argue for true ecological tourism, or, ecotourism. To me, a true ecotour is a tour that allows us to expre our paion for nature and for our culture heritage(遗产).

I love traveling. One of my most memorable trips was climbing the Great Wall. There, I cherished seeing people of all races and ages gathered on this ancient edifice.I cherished seeing these people smiling at each other, making way for each other, and reminding each other to watch their steps.

Once I joined others as young volunteers in an outing. The excursion(短途旅行)took us to a peak(山峰) of a mountain where we got a beautiful view of the city.We were, however, not ordinary tourists. As we were climbing, we were also picking up the trash left on the ground by other climbers. Finally, we carried, in large bags, all the trash on the mountain. The excursion was exhausting, but I believe, after this experience, not a single one of us will ever litter any tourist spot. Moreover, when we were cleaning up the mountain slope, we caught eyes of many others. Some of us might see us as foolish, but, more of them, I believe, will take note of the need to protect the environment. My experience was one of an ecotourist. We took, but we also gave.

However, on the idea of ecotourism, There many misunderstandings.I one telephoned several travel agencies to inquire about ecotour. And here is how it went: \"Hello!\" \"Hi! I\'m interested in the ecotour you\'ve advertised.\" \"Oh, year, ecotour.\" \"I\'m wondering if we should do anything special as ecotourists.\" \"I\'m sorry? Oh, nothing······Just enjoy the scenery.\" Every conversation ended with \" enjoy the scenery.\"No one mentioned \"protecting the wildlife,\" \"expecting local customs,\" or \"preparing a bag for garbage.\"None of made any mention of the obligation and responsibility on the part of tourist.

Like other students, I have had many dreams of what I would like to do after graduation. One of these dreams is to run a travel agency. In this travel agency, I would do three things: First, I would like to have a staff of people who love nature as they love their mothers and can pa on to the customers the same kind of love.Second, I would like to let the customers appreciate the beauty of nature in those natural reservations, safari parks and wild forests, and show them how they can contribute in return for the air, water and nourishment(营养品、食物)that nature provides.Last but not least, I\'d encourage the customers to work as volunteers as I once did. They would live close to nature by cleaning up the nature resorts and planting trees as mementos of their visit.

I still remember when I was standing on the top of the Great Wall,I could see in some distance many bare mountains with no trees, nothing green. It is my dream that one day I would organize tours for areas that are suffering from erosion and deforestation, and we would plant trees there.Ecotourism should an experience of learning and offering, it should not be just seeing the famous sits and posing for photos. On the flag of my agency, I would like to print this motto: Take nothing away except memory; leave nothing behind except your trees.Join my tour, my dear friends! It will make China green and make this world a better place to live.

Thank you very much!

Honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen, good morning.

First of all, let me take this chance to present to you a set of data that I hope won\'t bore you since the source is China Daily.

China\'s tourism revenue last year reached 500 billion RMB, an increase of 10.5 percent from the year before, and comprised more than 5% of China\'s GDP.According to experts, this number will grow to 8% in the coming ten years and more than 40 million jobs will be created.

As a student majoring in economics, I can\'t be more sensitive to the eential meanings behind these numbers. They mean progre, prosperity, employment and stability.

However, as a conscientious Chinese and citizen of the world, I can\'t help but care more about the loes incurred in this transaction, by which I mean the disturbing images of environmental destruction, which leads to ecological crisis. The global environment has changed for the worse during the past few years, and tourism is partly to blame.Take China for example, in order to attract tourists, many unknown places are built into resorts.Forests are cleared, prairies trampled, rivers and lakes 6)contaminated, wild animals are driven away, plants jeopardized and secluded populations disturbed.

If this seems too remote and abstract, my own traveling experience may speak louder here.Last year I took a tour around Emei Mountain in Sichuan Province.Like most tourists, I was eager to embrace nature and enjoy its beauty. However, as soon as I got on the bus, the stench of gasoline and the noise of the engine tainted my appreciation of the wonderful scenery and the tranquility of the country road. When we finally arrived, what I saw was not a beautiful landscape but crowds of people; what I heard was not the melodious singing of birds, but yelling and bargaining from the gift shops; what I smelled was not the fresh mountain air, but stinking suffocating smoke coming out of small dirty restaurants. Moreover, I could not understand why the lovely monkeys living there had to take photos with tourists all day; why the beautiful butterflies and flowers had become lifele samples in shop windows; why the strongest impreions I had was trash scattered everywhere on the ground.

However, this is not the end of the story. Before I left Emei, I met a group of kids in an ecotourism program with the slogan: \"Experiencing, Learning and Protecting.\" When I saw their young hands picking up trash from the ground, when I felt their enjoyment and harmonious relationship with the animals, when I found their purest eyes filled with paion and love for nature, I realized to my great satisfaction that there doesn\'t have to be a tradeoff between tourism and ecology, because deep within us is an inclination toward natural beauty and a desire to protect it.Yes, environmental problems will eventually ease with the advancement of science and technology and improvement of our management system. However, an increase of ecological education and hands-on environmental involvement of our fellow citizens will do even better. To realize this, the best way for us lies in tourism itself because nothing other than nature can teach us how to love and cherish our sweetest home.At the end of my speech, please let me quote Bob Dylan:

How many roads must a man walk down before you call him a man?

How many times must a man look up before he can see the sky?

How many years can a mountain exist before it\'s washed to the sea?

The answer, my friend, is not in the wind-the answer is ours! Thank you!

问题:Now in the age of the Internet, reading books does not seem as important as it once was.Do you think people can learn as much on the Internet as they can by reading books?Which method do you prefer?

回答:Thank you very much. And hello again ladies and gentlemen.Actually,I don\'t really agree with the first sentence of this topic:\"In the age of the Internet, reading books does not seem as important as it was once.\"Why?Why is it the case? Why is it the situation, ladies and gentlemen?Actually,Internet or books are just like tea or coffee. They are similar, but they are different.Unibersity students nowdays love to use the Internet to search for information when they are working with their eays.Like, last semester, when I was working with my physics eay,I logged into Google and I searched for \"NEWTON\" and all the laws and theories of Newton just popped out and I can choose whichever one I like to use.But when I walked into the library, all the books came out and I have to choose which one to read. How inconvenient!Maybe you can say at this moment,\"Oh,Internet is better, books no use.\"So I have to use Internet, right? But let\'s see the things in another way.I love traveling a lot and I love to bring a book with me.And I love to read my Da Vinci Code when I was having my trip on a bus or on a ship.Actually, whenever it is,wherever you go,whatever you are doing, you can take out a book and read if you feel like doing so.Now who will bother to take a laptop and switch it on,and search for the Internet connection, and look for stories to read. How inconvenient! So at this very moment I think it\'s quite dangerous for me,because I think I\'m unable to answer the question in the topic\"Which method do you prefer,Internet or books?\"because I love the feeling of conjuring a hundred pages of Harry Potter, more than scrolling down the screen;but at the same time I love the feeling of searching the things, the speed of my searching for things on the Internet, more than wasting my time in the library. So in this age of Internet,in this age of modernization,in this age of civilization, why do you have to force someone to choose between internet and books?I prefer using both of them.Thank you very much.

And so the changing of my dream is actually because of the fact that I realize my interest lies in,maybe communicating with others,or having interactions with the others.Science is very fantastic, but it\'s not my piece of cake.Yes,so that\'s the reason.Thank you very much.

问题:Thank you very much for your speeches.Talding about Internet,I just want to know your view.Do you believe everything is ture on the Internet? If not,why not?

回答:Thank you very much.I don\'t believe everything is true in the Internet. This is a straight forward answer.

着勇挑重担奋勇当先;创新,意味着面的拓展、点的突破、质的升华;

察是一种错误,从那坚毅闪亮的目光里,分明流露出无怨无悔的神情;

师大传媒有限责任公司为广告客户提供广告创意规划,设计出最符合在学校特定时期在校园推广的最佳方案,提供详细准确的咨询服务,包括市场调研、数据分析、得出结论。从而使广告客户的投资更科学、合理,全方位的与消费者接触;

分析完这个巨大的市场,我们再来看看这两条公交路线吧;

69路公交车途径商业发达的香洲百货、吉之岛、九州城等区域,驶向珠海十景之圆明新园; 10A路线途径商业发达的香洲总站、柠溪、拱北等区域;

公司建设进度计划是公司成立前两个月为筹建、准备阶段,此阶段,公司重点建设与校内各学生社团、校内其他媒体之间的关系,同时将与珠海市内其他广告公司进行联系及商务谈判,建立初步合伙人关系,确保宣传物料供应不断链,与珠海公交公司下属六和公交传媒有限公司谈判,拿下69路公交视屏广告权;

从第三个月开始,公司将在软件和硬件上建设公司,把公司内部结构系统与完善化,各部门工作人员到位;

1.为校内各大学生社团提供免费活动信息发布,一来减少了海报等宣传品的“污染”,二来使社团活动信息发布效果显著,对活跃校园文化生活起到一定 作用;

1.我们公司在发展过程中所遇到的主要问题可能会有由于运营历史短暂,资源的短缺,管理经验的不足,市场和产品的不确定性,对于关键管理人员的依赖性而造成的管理不善;

2.我们企业规模较小资金短缺,从而导致我们抗风险的能力较弱;

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:

Dear

5)adjudicators, what do you think? C.S.Lewis once said, \"You are never too old to dream a new dream.\" So for our future, please dream and be unrealistic.

Now that I am a university student, my goal is to graduate with excellences. But at the same time, I have a dream deeply rooted in our future.
