一、调研背景
1、新课标对初中英语写作的要求
语言技能是语言运用能力的重要组成部分,主要包括听、说、读、写等方面的技能以及这些技能的综合运用。听和读是理解的技能,说和写是表达的技能。它们在语言学习和交际中相辅相成、相互促进。随着英语新课标的实施以及教材的改革,教学目标中更加强了对学生写作能力的培养。义务教育阶段英语课程对初中毕业应达到的“写”的五级目标的描述:能根据写作要求,收集、准备素材;能独立起草短文、短信等,并在教师的指导下进行修改;能使用常见的连接词表示顺序和逻辑关系;能简单描述人物或事件;能根据图示或表格写出简单的段落或操作说明。学生应通过大量的专项和综合性语言实践活动,形成综合语言运用能力,为真实语言交际打基础。
2、我区初中学生英语写作现状
新课改实施以来,英语中考书面表达对作文的内容和要求有了很大的变化,英语作文在用词、语法、语篇结构、体裁以及适当表达个人观点等各个方面都向老师和学生提出了更高的要求。但从我区几年来的期末考试和中考中写作部分的成绩及试卷分析来看,学生写作部分成绩总体偏低,学生的语言基础知识积累不够,学生对于写作的基本要求没有完全掌握,语言的基本功不扎实,不能用英语表达。具体体现在:学生的词汇量小,对词汇、句型等不能正确应用,所写的句子语法结构混乱,含义不清,病句较多,在写作中出现不少中文式的英语。基于前期对初中学生关于写作现状调查了解,学生写作之所以水平较低,总体主要因素有三点:学生重视不够;学生对写作出现畏难心理;没有掌握良好的写作策略。
3、我区英语教师现状
我区初中英语教师共计390多名,学历整体水平偏低,其中一部分是“教非所学”教师。毋庸置疑,英语新课标的实施,新教材的使用,对教师的专业知识水平提出了更高的要求,“十五”以来,我区把英语教师的继续教育培训作为“重中之重”,在资金等各方面全力做好保障工作,培训力度一直在加大。2005年9月起我区初中开始使用师大版新教材,为了在新的课程标准实践中提高我区英语教师的整体素质,建设一支具有较高专业知识水平、先进教育理念和现代课程意识的英语教师队伍,我们培训的目标,是以“侧重提高英语口语表达能力、提高驾驭《英语新课程标准》的课堂教学能力”为重点,英语教师的整体素质有很大提高。根据“十二五”继教需求调查,教师迫切希望能通过各种形式和类别的培训,提高自身的专项教学能力。针对我区英语写作教学的弱点,如不采取一定的培训措施很难扭转写作教学局面,更谈不上整体教学质量的提高。因此,对教师写作教学技能的提升是“十二五”时期的英语教师继续教育重点解决的问题之一。
二、调查目的、对象和方式
基于学生写作现状、新课程、新课标要求以及英语教师写作专业技能亟待提高的背景下,我们利用教师参加研修活动机会,对来自区内30多所初中校共76名教龄五年以上英语教师做了问卷调查和部分教师座谈。旨在了解初中英语教师英语写作教学现状、教学策略以及教学培训需求等,为课堂教学和教师自身专业发展提供参考意见,思考作为培训部门如何“以问题为前提”、“教师需求为中心”有效地为教师提供培训服务。
三、调查结果与分析 (一)问卷部分数据分析显示
1、教师对写作教学的整体认识
教师对写作课教学的兴趣,32%教师表示很高,56%一般,12%表示不高或基本没有;写作技能对学生整体英语水平的影响,84%认为有影响,12%教师和4%的教师认为一般和可有可无;写作在中考中对学生成绩的影响,76%教师认为影响很大,24%教师认为影响不大;教师在教学中对教材每一单元的写作部分,42%教师课上处理,68%的教师表示忽略;对于学生在写作时犯错误的态度,92%采用帮助学生改正,有8%的教师表示仅仅指出错误,认为改不改是学生的事,自己再努力也还如此;在教师的努力下,学生写作水平提高的可能性,80%教师认为很大,但有12%和8%教师认为不大或不可能有多大提高。
2、教师对学生的整体了解情况
教师对“您认为学生对写作有兴趣吗?”的回答,98%否定;对“您所教学生学生写作没有达到及格水平”的比例,平均值是65%以上不合格;对“您了解所教学生的写作问题吗?”的回答是100%;但对“您全面调查过学生的写作问题和策略吗?”,95%的教师表示没有;“您认为学生写作主要存在的问题”是,100%教师认为是词汇量太少,平时缺乏练习与积累,缺乏必要的英语语言知识储备,91%认为写作技巧太差。而对“分析学生写作水平差的原因”主要因素:72%认为教学时间不够,36%的教师认为提高写作水平对于学生来说太难了,自己没办法,32%认为学生不努力,48%认为学生不重视。
3、关于教师的写作教学策略
对“您对您所教的学生什么时候开始进行有计划的写作能力培养?”,80%教师回答从初一开始,有12%和8%教师是初二和初三;对“您所使用的教材内容安排是否适应学生水平?”,52%教师认为是,48%认为不适合;对于“您是否在每个单元都给学生布置一篇文章作为写作练习? ”,80%教师回答是,20%否;对“您每周或每两周安排一次作文课吗?”,83%教师回答否;关于教师“批改写作练习的方式”,80%教师表示采取书面的和用笔逐一批改,28%教师采取按一定比例轮流批改,28%当学生面逐一批改,32%的教师采用过学生互批,没有老师在网上修改过电子稿;对“您对英语写作教学法全面了解吗?”,81%的教师表示表示不了解或不甚理解;对“会经常因为学生写作水平差而茫然不知所措”,64%的教师表示同意;对“学生存在的写作问题,您阅读过理论书籍来指导实践吗?”86%的教师表示没有;但有40%的教师“经常搜索一些英语写作方面的学术论文或资料”;25%的教师曾“写过写作教学方面的论文”。 (二)部分教师访谈结果
1、关于写作教学存在的问题及因素
大部分教师,尤其是农村中学教师反映,学生小学的英语基础很差,初中新教材又难,学生语言知识还学不好,写作就更困难了;学生对英语不感兴趣,学习习惯不好;学生不爱背单词,对于好的范文结构及语言知识懒于储备,再加上其他各科的作业压力,学习兴趣就不高;教师课程任务紧,时间少,学生学习不主动,造成学生英语写作整体水平低。
2、关于写作教学策略与途径
虽然写作存在问题较多,但大部分教师仍然认为,“学生还是可塑的,大部分学生还是方法不对”;认为“通过师生的努力,写作状况会有所改进”。并且对写作教学提出一些改进方法,如:“写作教学要有计划,循序渐进,日积月累”;“从基础写作抓起,采用小组合作学习写作等方式,提高学生的写作兴趣”;“对不同层次学生的个别辅导”;“学生的写作方法还是要老师的指导的”等等。同时,教师也表示,无论写作教学理论及实践教学水平都亟待提高,需要进一步学习。
四、结论与建议
通过本次调查与座谈,教师们已经认识到不足,也认识到学生的写作策略和教师的写作教学策略都有待改进和提高。因此,根据以上调查结果,对教师写作教学策略提高的途径笔者有以下两方面建议: (一)教师自身方面
1、提高认识、克服畏难心理
在英语教学中,教师往往对阅读理解较重视,对写作的重要性认识不足。新课标指出,基础教育阶段,语言基础知识的学习必须在“听、说、读、写”活动的过程中来进行并得以巩固;这“四种”基本技能在语言学习和交际中相辅相成、相互促进。教师在教学中,不能因为“教学时间紧、学生基础差、考试写作分值不高”等主观因素而忽视对写作技能的训练。要正确认识“写”的作用。写作不仅可以提高写作技能本身,而且还可以巩固已学过的语言知识,发展学生的语言技能。它们既是学习的内容,又是学习的手段。写作技能的提高,非一日之功,教师和学生都应具有“循序渐进”地提高“写作”技能的认识。同时,教师应克服写作畏难心理,将写作技能的提高纳入到日常教学当中,有计划、有目的,分层次地培养和提高学生的写作能力;学生通过有计划的写作训练,体验和积累写作策略,逐渐消除畏难心理,树立信心,拥有积极的英文写作心态。
2、善于学习、勇于实践息时代,教师要提高专业知识和专业技能,就要善于学习,善于从身边、书籍和网络中寻找解决问题的途径。面对写作教学中存在的问题和困惑,教师尽量避免从“感觉”出发,忽视“理论”的学习、指导与实践。本次调查表明,教师对“写作教学法”和写作教学策略欠缺,导致对于“写作教学法”的选择,大部分教师仍然沿用“成果写作”法,忽视“过程写作”法的运用与实践。因此,在教学中,教师要认真学习新课标,掌握写作教学理论,以学生为中心,将教学理论运用到实践中。在写作教学实践中,不断调整自己的教学策略,发展学生的写作策略和自主学习能力,为学生的终身学习打下良好的基础。 (二)学校和研训角度
新课程实施、新课标要求、新教材使用和以及学生的学习现状都对教师教学水平的挑战,教师不仅要保持终身学习意识,更要有学校和培训部门的支持。此次调查结果显示,我区英语教师的自我提高意识较强,这将是我区初中英语教学不断提高的重要保证。从学校角度出发,教师同行的促进作用不可忽视,加强英语校本教研,学校教研组、备课组教师之间的合作学习、合作研究,将写作教学纳入到初中三年的整体写作规划当中,坚持写作教学的实践性、连续性,是提高学生写作水平的重要手段。同时,由于英语学科教学的特殊性,区教研、师训部门要加强英语教师的写作专项技能培训,如:举办专题讲座,以课例分析形式对写作教学理论、问题、策略加以梳理;观摩学习市级优秀教师和本地区优秀教师课;对参训教师的实践课追踪、研讨;开展写作教学行动研究等,始终坚持培训内容的针对性和有效性。
五、结束语
总之,新课程背景下,义务教育课程改革实验的深化,首先是教师教育教学观念上的改变,才能带来教师教学行为上的变化。做为学校和培训部门,只有深入了解一线教师的教学行为现状和需求,才能通过培训促进教师对自己的教育教学实践进行认真的反思和理论提升,真正促进教师的专业发展,实现课程改革的最终目标

1、教师对于写作教学缺乏足够的重视，认为写作不如阅读和听说技能使用广泛。教师习

过程缺乏策略方面的指导。写作通常布置为课后作业，调查表明只有很少的学生在课后认真 完成。
2、是教师“力不从心”
，教师普遍工作量较大。传统的批阅方式无法满足需要，对于学
生的作业教师未能及时地给予评价。这影响了学生的写作积极性与效果。 3、学生英语书面表达的问题
从大多数学生英语书面表达来看存在较多的不足，与当前《英语课程标准》
“发展学生综
合语言运用能力”的要求还有一定的差距。具体来说学生书面表达中主要存在以下一些不足： ①时态误用。主要表现在两方面：一是学生写作之前没有判断整篇文章主要用哪种时态。
二是句子时态结构错误。由于学生对各种时态掌握不好常常将所学的各种时态混淆。
②汉语式英语。由于受汉语的影响，再加上对英语句子结构掌握不好，导致学生常常按
汉语的词序来翻译句子。
③逻辑错误。学生在写作之前没有构思好先写什么，后写什么，哪些内容应该详写，哪 些内容应该略写。而是一边写一边构思，从而导致整个文章逻辑不清层次感不强整篇文章不
