《教学勇气——漫步教师心灵》是中心在暑假里推荐给我们阅读的一本书，作者是美国知名教育学者帕克·帕尔默，由北京师范大学吴国珍、余巍等学者翻译，是“大夏书系·教师教育精品译丛”之一。
其实，几年前就留意过这本书，怎奈粗粗一览感觉生涩，终究没有勇气看下去。这次一方面是出于“完成任务”，另一方面也是因为肖主任对本书的无比推崇，终于带着勇气，兼带着些许的好奇，开展了阅读之旅。
意大利作家卡尔维诺曾给经典著作下了几个定义，其中两个，我觉得很到位。他说，经典著作就是你初读的时候就觉得像是重读的书。你有重温的感觉，好像你曾经读过，为什么呢?因为它谈的问题是你关心的问题，是你自己灵魂中的问题，你对这问题是熟悉的。他又说，经典著作是你在重读的时候好像是初读一样的书。无论你读多少遍，你都有新鲜感，有新的发现、新的收获。为什么呢?因为它是独特而开放的，它的独特之处在你的眼前不断展现，不断和你交流，和你对话。
说实话，要读懂这本书，说易不易，说难不难。由于国外作者表达的习惯和方式，文章的一些句子、段落的确有点晦涩，需要你静下心来、心无旁骛地阅读，有时一个段落、一个章节需要来回反复几遍;但浸入其中，你就经常会有“山穷水尽疑无路，柳暗花明又一村”的感觉，历经坎坷，眼前豁然开朗，你的思想与之呼应，你的心灵与之共鸣。这本书，我是漫读加精读，内心一次次被作者所描绘的“源自心灵的教学”所感动，原来居于头脑中的有点混沌的理念得以梳理，很多地方都似曾相识，亲切感扑面而来，跟随它，逐渐走进少人涉足的领地——“教师自我”。我想，用卡尔维诺的经典标志来衡量这本书，它绝对是堪称经典，只遗憾我与它交臂错过这几年。

说句实话，由于一直以来都认为中外书籍的思想意识和写作手法都大相径庭，而且这次看的可能又是什么别出心裁的教学模式，所以在刚刚看到《教学勇气》一书时，我感到跳跃性很大，有些看不懂。但是随着看的时间长了，对其中的一些内容也明白了一些。关于教与学，一直以来都是大家一直探索的问题，而在这里，帕克·帕尔默比任何人都有自己独到的见解，使我受益匪浅。我不能完全理解书中含义，更不能说出自己的多少感悟，只是对书中一些重要的观点有比较深的印象而已。
本书的一个最普通的信念：优秀教学不能被降格为技术，优秀教学源自教师的自身认同和自身完善。和一个最简单的前提：良好的教学不在于教学技巧的纯熟，真正好的教学源于教师正直、诚实的优秀品质。这让我对教学的实质有了一个更深刻的认识。读了《教学勇气》，我在作者的引导下逐渐回顾自己的教学生涯，拨开迷雾，认清自己的内心，即使是在寒风中摇曳的一点烛光，也坚信自己的光芒，自己的温暖那是给予一批又一批学生的关爱与呵护。我相信自己有勇气在教学中不断探索、不断发现。
相信很多老师都有过这样的感受，我们热爱教育，同时为教育痛苦。我们不辞辛苦，我们乐意学习，我们希望自己的教学生涯充满成功。但现实往往是不尽如人意。有时我们甚至想放弃，失去了继续努力的勇气。为什么会处于这样一种状态中呢？是学科知识的浅薄？是教育方法、技巧的缺乏，还是对学生的研究不够？反思中，我发现唯独缺少了对自己内心的关注。然而，帕尔默告诉我，核心问题是“认识自我”，是自我认同和自身完整。他说：“当我还不了解自我时，我就不了解我的学生们是谁。当我还不了解自我时，我也不能够懂得我的学科。”帕尔默说，要寻找一种与自己本性契合的教学方式。他的话给我指引了一条明确的道路。我们要找回自己，慢慢找回自己，哪怕很艰难。开始的时候，我们总是习惯于模仿。看到一种好的教学方式，就想着怎样照搬到我们自己的课堂中来。也许这是一个必要的过程。但如果一直是模仿，就有问题了。我们要自觉地去寻找，学习去寻找。这段寻找的路肯定很漫长，要走很多弯路。但我们必须去。作为老师，我们唯恐告诉学生的不够多，唯恐不能在有限的时间里给学生足够的信息，唯恐不能给学生足够的时间进行训练。我们把学生的自主学习、合作探究的时间挤掉，因为我们怕浪费时间不能完成学习任务。然而学习任务是什么？是一本教科书，是几本教辅资料上的习题？我们很多老师就是处于这样兢兢业业的负责中。高明的教师不会把满满一本书一页页灌给学生，而是选取典型的素材，让学生去发现本质的规律，从“一粒沙”中去看世界。
读书也如作者谈的教书一样，是需要“自身认同”的，只有我们内心认同了的书，才能对我们发挥作用。通过不断地学习思考，我深切地感受到这本书能促使教师深沉地思考自己的教育人生，从而实现自我教育人生层次的提升和生命的升华。

在19世纪英国的一所学校里，一次有一名强悍的高年级男生命令新生替自己做事，被新生拒绝后就开始殴打新生。这时候边上的学生要么畏惧地逃避，要么幸灾乐祸地观看，只有一名学生勇敢地挺身而出，大喊：“住手！你到底要打多少下才肯罢休！”这个勇敢的学生就是后来扬名世界的英国大诗人拜伦。
我不禁想起了我二年级时发生的一件事情。那次是在一次放学后，我在校门口看到几名高年级的学生堵住了一名低年级的学生，想让他给大伙儿买吃的。低年级的学生不愿意。
我看到了他在四下里张望，我知道，他是想寻求帮助呢。可是，我当时的念头是：“那些大孩子可比我高出一个头呢！可千万别找上我！”于是，我连忙退后一步，躲在一旁连大气都不敢出。看了小拜伦的故事，我真为自己当时的行为感到羞愧，明知道那些大孩子的行为不对，却没有想任何阻止他们的办法，而是“灰溜溜”地躲避了。
其实，我们也可以像小拜伦那样，勇敢地面对困难，勇敢地维护正义。我们欣赏勇气，因为它是一种毫无畏惧的气魄。勇气是让生活顺利前进的风帆，勇气是让我们成为强者的支柱。只要充满勇气，我们大家都能成为人人称赞的小小男子汉！
