Topic: Vocabulary Learning Strategies

I.Students’ Analysis: As far we’ve learnt, many middle school students have been complaining about their poor memory of English new words.The survey and interview turn out that they have 3 major problems: 1.The words learnt are not repeated enough.2.They need learning strategies of memorizing words.3.They don’t have much interest in learning them.To solve these problems is urgent and of particular importance.II.Teaching Goals: 1.Knowledge goal Vocabulary: Variety ways of keeping words in mind 2.Ability goals 2.1 To motivate them to improve their English

2.2 To develop students’ abilities of thinking and imagination 2.3 To train their creative awarene and the corresponding abilities 3.Learning Strategies

3.1 Individual learning:To categorize/group some of the words 3.2 Cooperative learning: To do pair work or group work to find out the efficient ways of keeping the words.3.3 Explorable learning: To explore the best ways of one’s own of memorizing words and expreions 4.Motivation goals 4.1 Motivation & Interest 4.2 Confidence & Determination 4.3 Cooperative Spirit 5.3 Acro-cultural communication & abilities IV.Teaching Demands:

1. New words and expreions 2. The study skills in English words learning 3. Some useful memorizing techniques V.

Teaching Methods and Techniques: 1. Methods :
