A Rainbow Smiles
With a cup of tea in hand, I was reading my favorite novel in the study room, all alone.All at once, a short meage came, saying, \"Darling, are you miing me?\"
It was sent by Emma, who is now a postgraduate in another part of the city.She\'s my girlfriend and we\'ve been in love for four months.Every time I receive a short meage from her, I can\'t help recalling her lovely face, and our love story.
It was a busy day during exam season and I went to the study room as usual to review my material, with a thick dictionary.I took a seat near the window and, very soon, I was deep in reviewing.
Some time paed and I looked out the window to take a break.When I turned back, I noticed a little notebook being pushed towards me.The owner of the notebook was the girl seated opposite me.I curiously took the notebook and read, \"Hello, my name is Emma, can we be friends?\" I wrote in reply, \"Of course.My name is Sammy.How do you do?\"
\"How do you do? I\'m looking for a friend majoring in English and I gue you\'re the one,\" she wrote.\"How do you know I\'m an English major?\"
\"Your thick dictionary gives you away.\"
By communicating in the little notebook, we became friends and I began to learn something about her: She was a senior majoring in literature and was preparing for the postgraduate exam.However, her English was not so good and that worried her a lot.
I was moved by her trusting me because we were complete strangers.So, I promised in the notebook that I would try my best to help her on the condition that she treated me to a meal after she succeeded.She accepted with a big smile.
From that moment, the \"English cla\" began.In the morning, I would take her to the library to do some reading, and would correct her pronunciation.In the evening, I would ask her to review the new words we had learnt that day.Sometimes, I would invite her to English corner, where she could practice her spoken English.
We spent most of our time together in the study room and encouraged and helped each other.Since you couldn\'t talk loudly in the study room, we asked and answered each other questions in the notebook.We both liked communicating this way.
As the days went by, I began falling in love with her.But she was busy preparing for a very important exam and I didn\'t want to upset her and hid my feelings in my heart.
The day after she took the exam, we met at the same study room table as usual.I took out the notebook and wrote, \"How\'d it go with the exam?\" \"Very well, especially English,\" she replied.I hesitated for a moment, but finally got up the courage to write, \"Would you mind coming to the study room with me in the future?\" \"What I mind is if you don\'t ask me to be with you in the future.\" Upon reading this, I couldn\'t help grasping her hands firmly.Her lovely face began to blush.
Three months later, she got the news that she had been admitted to university and she was so excited that she kied me the moment we met.According to the prior agreement, she treated me to a meal at a nice restaurant.At the table, we took out the notebook and looked through everything we\'d written.We had gone through a storm and a colorful rainbow was smiling at us.

She is one of my best friends, but we\'ve never met each other.We only know each other\'s Net name.Mine is Time Catcher, while hers is Remember-to-laugh.
We met on the Internet when I was a sophomore in 2006.I was bored and chatting on QQ when an interesting Net name flashed up.It must be a special person, I thought.
\"Where are you?\" I asked curiously.
\"In heaven,” she replied with a smiling emoticon.\"And you?\"
\"Oh, we are neighbors, but I don\'t think I recognize you.\"
We chatted in that joking way for the next couple of hours.I didn\'t pry into her real identity, and she didn\'t bother me about mine.I inferred she must be an out-going freshman, and I thought we could be friends because we had many things in common.
We met on QQ every Saturday.Sometimes we discued current topics, but we never exchanged our identities.
One Saturday she was about to go offline when I sent my telephone number to her with my heart beating wildly.I waited anxiously until she responded with a simple \"bye\".I felt disappointed.
After a short while, I received a meage that said, \"Hi, Time Catcher, I had a nice time talking, I\'d like to meet you online next Saturday\"
Oh, it\'s her, Remember-to-laugh! I nearly cried out.I suddenly felt much closer to her.I looked at the number again and again to make sure that I remembered it.
Though we had each other\'s numbers, we seldom got in touch by cellphone, both of us wanting to obey our unwritten pact.We still chatted on QQ, but we felt a bit closer to each other.
I used to wait expectantly for her to appear online, and always felt excited when I saw her head portrait pop up.Once she was late getting online, I was worried because she was a punctual person and was never late for no reason.Since my mobile phone had run out of battery, I borrowed my roommate\'s to call her.
When her voice came through the phone, I was so attracted by her soft voice that in one minute I forgot what to say.
Then I asked anxiously, \"Are you OK? What\'s the matter? Why aren\'t you on online?\"
\"Are you Time Catcher?\" She asked.
\"Oh, yeah.\" I replied, then I felt a flush of embarrament, \"Forgive my rudene, I was too anxious to introduce myself.This is Time Catcher, big surprise, huh?\"
\"I didn\'t realize it was you, and this is not your number, if my memory serves me correctly,\" she said humorously.
\"Yeah, my phone is on charge, so I borrowed one\"
\"I sent you a short meage to tell you it is my friend\'s birthday tonight.\"
\"Oh, got it.So have a good time\".
I was obseed by her mysterious character and charming voice.One day when we chatted on the phone.I said in a low voice, \"I like you\".
To my surprise, she answered in a happy voice, \"I like you too, Time Catcher.We are good and unique friends, aren\'t we?\"
I knew what she meant, so I replied, \"Oh yes.We are good friends and our friendship will last forever.\"
We are good friends but we have still never met.We chat about almost everything but we never talk about ourselves.We just care about each other and treasure our invisible friendship deep in our hearts.
