55.A.However

B.Instead

C.In total

〖解析〗选A。

show off展示;炫耀,卖弄,与语境相符; take over继承,接办;接管; look after照顾,照看;give up放弃,投降。

〖解析〗选A。 fold up 折叠起来;cover up 掩盖,盖住;mix up混淆;拌和;调和。

〖解析〗选A。 There I was standing on the stage floor when my clamates were on top of their boxes可知,作者在表演时出现了失误,故本句意为:我没踩上同伴的箱子,滑倒了,故用slip符合语境。

〖解析〗选A。 the blood rushed to my face/cheek指由于羞愧或愤怒而血冲上了某人的面庞,脸涨的通红。

由后文的tasting the salt from the tears可知作者哭了起来,所以本句句意应www.daodoc.com

〖解析〗选A。

“Who”, I asked a senior, “is Mrs. McNamara, my 10th grade English teacher?” He just

and said something about my being in

. Soon, I understood what he meant. Mrs. McNamara had a pattern of

that she repeated again and again. We would have a literature reading task for

.The next day, when we came to cla, there would be two or three topics on the blackboard

to the homework reading. We were

to write an in-cla eay about one of the topics. The following day, she would

the corrected and graded eays and each person would be called

to stand in front of the cla and to

his/her eay. The cla were required to criticize (评论) that eay,

the grade of everyone in cla would be reduced.

The first time that I

her read-write-criticize method, I had not

myself. No one laughed at me; no one would be

enough, or foolish enough, to do that in Mrs. McNamara’s cla. The embarrament came from

not to let it happen again.

Mrs. McNamara kept all of our written work in files; it was easy to see the

in writing that had occurred. What was not so easy to see was the inner transformation that had taken place, at least for me. What Mrs. McNamara

me to do was to see myself as others see me and, having done that, I could improve myself. And I

Beans is a white dog可知,此处选B(dog)。

C。 The sniffing and exploring was going well for him可知,Beans经常“探索(explore)”只有他才知道的某一原因,故选C。

A(车道)、C(十字路口)、D(公路)均不合语境。

A。由后面的… take me home以及… I

47

that Beans probably knew all along how to get www.daodoc.com

B。由第一段第二句… through untold miles of forest可知,此空该填B(forest)。

根据上文 she stopped by the road , 以及 …also…

You need to go back可知,老太太的确是迷路了。

There is no way 没有办法, 不可能; There is no doubt 毫无疑问; There is no room 没有空间; There is no time 没有时间。 48.C 。 make it 成功地做成某事;get it 明白了。

51.A。 ; and then … 由下文的from black to silver grey 可知, 汽车的颜色逐渐变www.daodoc.com

而A项because引导原因状语从句;unle和if引导条件状语从句。

but 表转折;so 表因果;or 表选择。

39.【解析】选A。

42.【解析】选A。 decide to do 决定做某事。offer to do (主动地)提供,给予(帮助等);agree to do同意做某事; happen to do 碰巧做某事。

at best至多;充其量;at times有时;in case万一,以防;显然A、C、D项不合语境。 47.【解析】选A。

49.【解析】选A。

51.【解析】选A。 该句的谓语have come to see是表示“变化过程”,所以用gradually表示“渐渐地”。

54.【解析】选A。

because of 因为;according to 根据;in relation to 与…有关系;in addition to 除此之外,而且。

26.【解析】选A。

下面的young and ragged都是外表,应该用look like “看起来像”。

though 表让步,for表原因,therefore表结果。

declare“宣布”,expect“期望”,gue“猜想”。

36. 【解析】选A。 awkward “笨拙的,局促的”,innocent“无辜的,清白的”,special“特别的;专门的”。 37.【解析】选A。

38.【解析】选A 。 unfortunately“不幸地”,coincidentally“碰巧,巧合”,comfortably“舒适地”。

words“话语”,effort“努力”,space“空间”。

moment“时刻”,break“暂停,休息”,event“事件”。

walk around“四处走动”, paing by“经过”,www.daodoc.com

run off“排出,流出”。

42.【解析】选D。后面的宾语是a cafe counter(一家餐馆的柜台),所以应选D,walk to “朝……

25.选A。

come up with 提出、想出,符合语境要求。

34.选A。

37.选A。 light up 把…...

38.选D。和前面信息“their faces beamed and their bright smiles

37

39.选A。和后面的“It was a feeling”一致,所以此处应该为it。 40.

2.A.trouble

B. sorrow

C. danger

D. anger 【解析】选A。

3.A. behaviour

B. evaluation C. activity

7.A.collect

B. return

C. send

8.A. on purpose

B. at first C. by chance

D. in turn 【解析】选D。 on purpose故意地,at first首先,by chance偶然。

9.A.talk through

B. hand over C. read out

D. show off 【解析】选C。 talk through电话接通(开始讲话)、通话完毕,hand over交出,移交;show off炫耀,显示。

10. A. so

B. and

C. but

15. A. brave

B. carele C. proud

D. selfish 【解析】选A。 16. A. above

B. within C. behind

17. A. tendency

B. invited C. forced

20. A. did

B. could

C. had

D. would 【解析】选A。此处考查动词do/did/does代替另一动词的用法。
