Hi! Ladies and gentlemen:
I’m very glad to have a chance to share my teaching experience with you.The topic of my speech is to cultivate good studying habits of students in English teaching.
School education is very important and useful.The students not only learn knowledge but also get an education.However, no one can learn everything at school.A teacher, even he knows a lot can’t teach his students everything.Our job is to teach our students how to learn 、how to read and how to think.As a good teacher, he can teach his students the methods of study.Through these methods the students are able to learn and get a lot of things by themselves.
I became an English teacher over six years ago.Now I have my own teaching thought: I teach my students not only English words and grammars but also the methods of studying English.And I will try my best to develop their good studying habits little by little.
Then, what are good studying habits of students.In my opinion they should including the following: the habit of previewing before the cla, the habit of listening in cla, the habit of completing homework, and good habit of reading aloud etc…
The first is how to preview before cla.I call for my students to preview well before cla.For new words and phrases students should not only practice spelling but also understand their meaning according to the sentences and contexts.For text and dialogue students may understand them by using notes or dictionaries.Search top paragraph and sentence.
The second is how to listen in cla.Teachers should make students to develop good habits of listening and questioning actively in cla.We should actively encourage students to question, to have discuion in cla.
The third is attitudes towards homework.We should consider the homework after reading and amending, not only find mistakes including spelling mistakes, but also analyze the reasons.It can help them solve the problems.
Beside that reading and reciting is one of the good methods.As we know reading is good way input information.It’s very useful to memorize the words and expreions.
So in my English teaching I always pay attention to cultivate good studying habits of students and develop their abilities.This is my speech.That’s all.Thank you!
