文章的反面人物罗杰是一个没有灵魂的家伙，他以窥视别人为乐，表面上像一个和蔼的老朋友，背地里却像蚯蚓一样不断钻入别人的灵魂，窥探别人的秘密，他把海丝特推向了悲惨命运，将牧师带向死亡，他不懂宽恕，以折磨为乐趣，充满了仇恨，成为一个肮脏卑劣的人，是一个邪恶的魔鬼，从他身上，可以看出一种人性的丑恶。

海丝特为什么会那么死心塌地地爱丁梅斯代尔？海丝特是圣女一般的人物。她优雅美丽性感，做得一手无人能及的针线活。她贤惠，是个真正聪明的女人。她明白事理，这样一个女生无论站在哪里都是一道吸引所有人的风景，可是她却很低调很低调地活着。她对这个世界不索求任何东西，却把自己奉献给世界上的穷人，病人，受苦受难的人们，还有那些虚伪的小姐太太绅士们。这样的女人如神般伟大！可是，她的爱情却是悲剧的，她唯一的错误是在丈夫下落不明的时候和牧师丁梅斯代尔发生关系并且生下孩子，从此被冠以“通奸”的罪名，被置于刑台上，众目睽睽之下，可是不管牧师们和市民如何逼问，为了保全“奸夫”的名声，关于他的任何信息她丝毫都没透露。人们在背后唾骂她们，向她们扔石头，用各种各样的方式侮辱折磨她们。可是，就为了能和他呼吸同一处的空气，她依旧没有离开，远远地看着他。傻女人啊，真是傻女人啊。也正是这种“傻”表现了海特丝是一个不屈于命运的女人，在她的一生中充满了对命运的蔑视，她怀疑这世俗道的合理性，但是又矛盾的意识到灵魂的邪恶，人性的复杂可见一斑，而整篇小说中表达了获得自由和解放就要去斗争的思想，海丝特就是这样，她坚强，对爱情忠贞不渝，虽然被统治着认为有罪，但她是清白的，纯洁的，她的精神不断上升，成为真、善、美的化身，因为这样，她才成了一个高尚的人，受到了人们的尊敬，从而洗刷了身上的耻辱。

When I have read half of the story, I’m impreed with the tragedy of Hester.It seems that all the desirable things happen to her.She doesn’t love her husband but has no rights to pursue her true love.As a result, the society punish her, expose her to public and ruin her reputation.But the worst thing is that her infant’s father have no courage to acknowledge them as his wife and daughter.But then she chooses live alone with her infant pearl in the town and earn their livings by doing needle.As it is put in the book: “Here, she said to herself, had been the scene of her guilt, and here should be the scene of her earthly punishment; and so, perchance, the torture of her daily shame would at length purge her soul.”

第三、选准感点

一篇文章，可以排出许多感点，但在一篇读后感里只能论述一个中心，切不可面面俱到，所以紧接着便是对这些众多的感点进行筛选比较，找出自己感受最深、角度最新，现实针对性最强、自己写来又觉得顺畅的一个感点，作为读后感的中心，然后加以论证成文。

第四、叙述要简

既然读后感是由读产生感，那么在文章里就要叙述引起“感”的那些事实，有时还要叙述自己联想到的一些事例。一句话，读后感中少不了“叙”。但是它不同于记叙文中“叙”的要求。记叙文中的“叙”讲究具体、形象、生动，而读后感中的“叙”却讲究简单扼要，它不要求“感人”，只要求能引出事理。初学写读后感引述原文，一般毛病是叙述不简要，实际上变成复述了。这主要是因为作者还不能把握所要引述部分的精神、要点，所以才简明不了。简明，不是文字越少越好，简还要明。

第五，联想要注意形式

每个阶段读它都会有不同的感觉，年少懵懂的读，以及现在似有感悟的读。 心中的红字，其实是一种精神上的暗示与压力。我想，或多或少每个人心里都有各自的红字吧。当我们做了一些不该做的，就一定会有一个正义的声音提醒我们——这是不对的。然后就不断会有良心的煎熬，于是有一些罪犯就会自首，甚至为自己所做的感到羞愧甚至自尽。那难道就不是心中的红字在起作用吗?

《红字》是纳撒尼尔(1804~1864年)于19世纪中所创作的一部长篇小说。在这部小说中，霍桑除了对人性的脆弱与悲伤进行深入的探讨， 并且融入了影响他个人极为深远的清教徒遗传，深刻剖析罪的意识对身心灵的影响、尖锐地批判已经沦为形式主义的清教精神、探讨个人在自由与权威中的矛盾挣扎。故事表面上看来只是在叙述一个简单的浪漫爱情故事(这不难理解， 因为《红字在山的那边读后感》的副标题叫做“A Romance”)，但它的主题却是学者们一直以来争议的对象。当我在研究这本历经那么多批评或赞赏的书，绝对领悟到一点就是不能仅仅停留于对《红字》文本的阐释上，要将霍桑的创作置于西方历史性问题的大视域中来加以分析它的主题。这样才能证明霍桑是19世纪美国文学界最杰出的文学家。

二、人的自然属性与社会属性的冲突集中表现在几个人物身上

海斯特的自然属性是真实的，她的社会属性却是虚伪的、虚假的。因而她不存在两种属性（两个自我）的矛盾，她自始至终都只有一个自我。表面上看，海斯特“诚实”地“招认”了自己的罪行，并“顺从”地接受社会、宗教、法律对她的惩罚。但她内心深入并没有一刻顺从过。在《红字》第十九章中，她将ａ字摘掉仍在林间地上。这表明她憎恨这一切。她始终游离于社会之外，并伺机逃离社会。是社会抛弃了她还是她抛弃了社会？

人的自然属性与社会属性冲突的焦点体现在丁梅斯德身上。“他充当着牧师和情人的双重角色，是宗教与自然，社会与人性之间冲突的一个焦点。［４］这里的宗教、社会正是人的社”会属性的内容，而自然与人性则是人的自然属性的内容。表面上丁梅斯德充当着众人信服的、虔诚的牧师，置所应负的责任于不顾，内心虽也受着煎熬，但却能若无其事地布道，这说明他的社会属性一开始战胜了自然属性，并长达七年之久。然而追求正常人生活的渴望却一刻也未停止过，在《红字》第１９章中丁梅斯德谈到，“你无法想象，我的心里多么害怕这次会面，又多么渴望它！”一语道破其矛盾的自我。

Hester has to wear the letter A day after day, seven years as for punishment and ill fame.When a woman has lived through a difficult experience, her character changes a great deal.If she be all tenderne, she will die.If she survive, the tendernewill leave her .Hester’s charitable deeds and quiet humility have earned her a reprieve from the scorn of the community.The letter on her chest represents her work on earth , always helping others, without expecting any thanks.Never afterwards, does that scarlet letter leave her chest.The townspeople no longer view the letter as a punishment , but rather as representing her great strength and bravery and thy say it means “Able”.

But Arthur Dimmesdale, his sin against Hester and Pearl is that he will not acknowledge them as his wife and daughter in the daylight.He keeps his dreadful secret from all those under his care in the church for seven years for fear that he will lose their love and will not be forgiven.He is too weak to admit his sins.He suffers from mysterious heart trouble, seemingly caused by psychological distre.What’s worse, he is an advisor to the townspeople about their sins.

After Mr.Dimmesdale’s death , no one changes more in appearance than Roger Chilling worth.All his strength and energy has been used to harm his patient .This unhappy man has made his aim in life to add to the suffering of the young minister.When the evil old man no longer has such a purpose, the devil takes him back to the hell .It is a curious subject of observation, however, whether hatred or love are not of the same place.Each takes a great deal of emotion from one person.The two feelings seem basically the same, expect that one is smiled upon by God, while the other is worshipped by the devil.

在复仇之前，唐泰斯决定先要报恩。法老号的船主是一个忠厚、勇敢而且热情的人。他曾在唐泰斯落难时为他四处奔波，还帮他照顾年迈的父亲。后来莫雷尔先生破产了，绝望当中，他准备自杀。唐泰斯知道之后，替他还清了债务，送给他女儿一笔优厚的嫁妆，还送给他一艘新的法老号。然后，唐泰斯说：“我已经借天主之手报答了恩人；现在复仇之神授我以他的权力，命我去惩罚仇人！”在报答了曾在他危难之际给过他无私帮助的人之后，唐泰斯开始一步步准备自己的复仇计划了。[7]

基督山伯爵的目标首先是费尔南。费尔南为了谋取一切之私利可以说是坏事做尽，此时他更名换姓，过着养尊处优的生活。基督山伯爵早就摸清了他的底细，伯爵借他人之手在报纸上披露了费尔南20年代在希腊出卖和杀害了阿里总督的事实，引起了议员们的质询。在听证会上，基督山伯爵收养的阿里总督的女儿海黛出席作证，揭发了费尔南在与土耳其人的无耻的交易的中，不但把城堡拱手相让，而且把他的恩主杀害，并把恩主的妻子、女儿作为一部分战利品，卖得40万法郎的罪行。审查委员会断定费尔南犯了判逆罪和暴行迫害罪，这使得费尔南名誉扫地，狼狈不堪。费尔南本来寄希望于儿子阿尔贝，希望他能够同基督山伯爵决斗，以此雪“耻”，但他的妻子（唐泰斯的未婚妻梅尔塞苔丝）早就认出了基督山伯爵就是唐泰斯，她把真相告诉了阿尔贝。最后阿尔贝不顾自己的名声，与基督山伯爵讲和，并决定同母亲一起抛弃沾满了鲜血的家产，不辞而别。无奈之下，费尔南只有自己去找基督山伯爵决斗。决斗时，基督山伯爵用很冷淡的口吻嘲讽地说：“您不就是那个在滑铁卢之战前夕开小差逃走的小兵费尔南吗？您不就是那个在西班牙当法军向导和间谍的费尔南中尉吗？您不就是那个背叛、出卖并谋害自己恩主的费尔南中将吗？而这些个费尔南加起来，不就是现在身为法国贵族议员的您吗？”最后，基督山伯爵说出了自己的真实身份。费尔南失魂落魄地回到家里，正遇上自己的妻子和儿子离家出走，一个去乡下隐居，一个去投军，极度害怕与绝望使得他开枪自杀了。[2]
