篇1:经典英语演讲99篇

i have a dream---martin luther king i am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the emancipation proclamation.this momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of negro slaves, who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice.it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.it would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment.this sweltering summer of the negros legitimate discontent will not pa until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality.nineteen sixty-three is not an end but a beginning.those who hope that the negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to busine as usual.there will be neither rest nor tranquility in america until the negro is granted his citizenship rights.the whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.but there is something that i must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold, which leads into the palace of justice.in the proce of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds.let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterne and hatred.we must ever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline.we must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence.again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.i have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.i have a dream that one day on the red hills of georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.i have a dream that one day even the state of miiippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppreion, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.i have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.i have a dream today! i have a dream that one day, down in alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification; one day right down in alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.i have a dream today! i have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.and so let freedom ring -- from the prodigious hilltops of new hampshire.let freedom ring -- from the mighty mountains of new york.let freedom ring -- from the heightening alleghenies of pennsylvania.let freedom ring -- from the snow-capped rockies of colorado.let freedom ring -- from the curvaceous slopes of california.but not only that.let freedom ring -- from stone mountain of georgia.let freedom ring -- from lookout mountain of tenneee.let freedom ring -- from every hill and molehill of miiippi, from every mountainside, let freedom ring! and when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of gods children, black men and white men, jews and gentiles, protestants and catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old negro spiritual, free at last, free at last.thank god almighty, we are free at last.inaugural addre------ john f.kennedy we observe today not a victory of party but a celebration of freedom, symbolizing an end as well as a beginning, signifying renewal as well as change.for i have sworn before you and almighty god the same solemn oath our forebears prescribed nearly a century and three-quarters ago.let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to aure the survival and the succe of liberty.this much we pledge -- and more.to those old allies whose cultural and spiritual origins we share, we pledge the loyalty of faithful friends.united there is little we cannot do in a host of cooperative ventures.divided there is little we can do, for we dare not meet a powerful challenge at odds and split asunder.if a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.finally, to those nations who would make themselves our adversary, we offer not a pledge but a request: that both sides begin anew the quest for peace -- before the dark powers of destruction unleashed by science engulf all humanity in planned or accidental self-destruction.let us never negotiate out of fear.but let us never fear to negotiate.let both sides explore what problems unite us instead of belaboring those problems which divide us.let both sides, for the first time, formulate serious and precise proposals for the inspection and control of arms, and bring the absolute power to destroy other nations under the absolute control of all nations.and if a beachhead of cooperation may push back the jungle of suspicion, let both sides join in creating a new endeavor -- not a new balance of power, but a new world of law -- where the strong are just, and the weak secure, and the peace preserved.all this will not be finished in the first one hundred days.nor will it be finished in the first one thousand days; nor in the life of this administration; nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this planet.but let us begin.in your hands, my fellow citizens, more than mine, will rest the final succe or failure of our course.since this country was founded, each generation of americans has been summoned to give testimony to its national loyalty.the graves of young americans who answered the call to service surround the globe.can we forge against these enemies a grand and global alliance, north and south, east and west, that can aure a more fruitful life for all mankind? will you join in that historic effort? and so, my fellow americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.my fellow citizens of the world, ask not what america will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.finally, whether you are citizens of america or citizens of the world, ask of us here the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you.with a good conscience our only sure reward, withhistory the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking his bleing and his help, but knowing that here on earth gods work must truly be our own.mr.chief justice and friends: this is a day of national consecration.and i am certain that on this day my fellow americans expect that on my induction into the presidency i will addre them with a candor and a decision which the present situation of our people impels.this is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly.nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today.this great nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper.so, first of all, let me aert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself -- namele, ueasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.in every dark hour of our national life, a leadership of frankne and a vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is eential to victory.and i am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days.true, they have tried.but their efforts have been cast in the pattern of an outworn tradition.faced by failure of credit, they have proposed only the lending of more money.stripped of the lure of profit by which to induce our people to follow their false leadership, they have resorted to exhortations, pleading tearfully for restored confidence.they only know the rules of a generation of self-seekers.they have no vision, and when there is no vision the people perish.yes, the money changers have fled from their high seats in the temple of our civilization.we may now restore that temple to the ancient truths.the measure of that restoration lies in the extent to which we apply social values more noble than mere monetary profit.happine lies not in the mere poeion of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.the joy, the moral stimulation of work no longer must be forgotten in the mad chase of evanescent profits.these dark days, my friends, will be worth all they cost us if they teach us that our true destiny is not to be ministered unto but to minister to ourselves, to our fellow men.recognition of that falsity of material wealth as the standard of succe goes hand in hand with the abandonment of the false belief that public office and high political position are to be valued only by the standards of pride of place and personal profit; and there must be an end to a conduct in banking and in busine which too often has given to a sacred trust the likene of callous and selfish wrongdoing.small篇2:精彩英语演讲开场白示例 精彩英语演讲开场白示例

my definition of succe today i am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of succe.what is succe? it is what everyone is longing for.sometimes succe would be rather simple.winning a game is succe; getting a high grade in the exam is succe; making a new friend is succe; even now i am standing here giving my speech is somehow also succe.s hopes and ideals.nowadays, in the modern society there are many people who are regarded as the succeful.and the most obvious characteristics of hem are money, high position and luxurious life.so most people believe that s succe and all that they do is for this purpose.but the problem is wether it is real succe.we all know there are always more money, higher position and better condition in front of us.if we keep chasing them, where is the end? what will satisfy us at last? therefore, we can see, to get the real succe we must need something inside, which is the realization ofpeople’ hopes and ideals.different people have different ideas about succe; cause responsibility.these are the best treasures.so now i am very proud that i have this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you.it is my succe, cause i raise up to challenge my hope.what is succe? everyone has his own interpretation as i do.but i am sure every succe leads to an ever-brighter future.so ladies and gentlemen, believe in our hopes, believe in ourselves, we, every one of us, can make a succeful life! i have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed-we hold theses truths to be self- oevident, that all men are created equal.i have a dream that one day on the red hills of georgia, sons of former slaves and sons of former slave owners will be able to sit together at the table of brotherhood.i have a dream my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.i have a dream today! when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and hamlet, from every state and city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of god’s children-black men and white men , jews and gentiles, catholics and protestants-will be able to join hands and to sing inthe words of the old negro spiritual, “free at least ,free at last .thank god almighty, we are free at last.”
