A Report of “EQ” Plays a Role in Personal Succe
Recently I read an article with the title How to Cultivate “EQ” in a magazine.This article tells us what an important role the “EQ” plays in our work and study, as well as our social life.
At the beginning of this article, the author raises a question “what is the most valuable contribution employees make to their companies, knowledge or judgment”.There is no doubt that the author thinks the judgment plays a more important role in a competitive society.Sure, it does.Knowledge, no matter how powerful, is usele until it is applied in the right field.But, judgment is more flexible which involves an advanced performance of the mind.In author’s opinion, judgment is one of “EQ”.
What exactly is “EQ”? “EQ”, short for emotional intelligence, is a kind of ability to manage ourselves and our relationship effectively.As for a person, EQ consists of four fundamental capacities: self-awarene, self-management, social awarene and social skills.In this article, the author tells us that cultivating “EQ” must firstly improve these following four adaptive skills: raising consciousne, using imagery, considering and reconsidering events to choose the most creative response to them, and integrating the perspective of others.
I have seen a cover story which also tells about something of “EQ” and “IQ”, there is a very claic statement: “I don’t care if every member of your staff graduated from Harvard, I will take my busine and go where I am understood and treated with respect.” Yes, I really agree with this statement.No matter how knowledgeable you are, if you don’t respect people, you can not live in harmony with others and you can not integrate into the community, you are nothing to society and you won’t achieve any succe.Therefore, it is important to develop your “EQ”.High “EQ” not only can change your world view, but also can actually help you improve the ability to analyze iues.
