My hometown is in the southeast of Shandong， a seaside village.
It is a small village.There are about 600 people.Most of them are peasants.They mainly plant wheat， corn and cotton.Some of them often go fishing in the sea.
Great changes have taken place in the past ten years.Now the peasants here use tractors in their work.A lot of new buildings have appeared.Many families own fridges and some even have air-conditioners.In the evening they watch TV as the people in cities do.
There is a primary school in the village.Most of the peasants’ children are studying in college now.
我的家乡
My hometown is Mount Lushan.Have you ever been there? Mount Lushan is very famous for its beautiful scenery, excellent climate① and long history.
Mount Lushan stands on the south bank of the Changjiang River and the north bank of the Poyang Lake.It is 1,474 metres high and has a lot of nice scenic spots②, such as the Flower Path(花径), the Five-Old-ManPeak(五老峰),the Jinxiu Valley(锦绣谷), the Immortal\'s Cave(仙人洞), the Three-Step Waterfalls(三叠泉)and so on.Thousands of people from other parts of China and foreign countries come here every year, especially in summer.
Summer on Mount Lushan is very cool.The highest temperature is only 32℃.It can be called a huge natural air-conditioner③ in summer.Winter here is nice, too.Heavy snow falls every year.There is a popular saying:“Mount Lushan in summer is green like a clear fountain④, and in winter is white like white jade⑤.”
