在芜湖至繁昌、铜陵的长江段南岸，有一座峻秀而奇特的山，名马仁山。此山山势险峻，岩石奇特，峰岩翘首，参差嵯峨，似列屏，似城堞，如蔟玉，如戈矛。太阳山、月亮山，一冲之隔，太阳洞、月亮洞，遥遥相望。山中有成片的楮树林、梓树林，更有国内罕见的楠木林，有郁郁葱葱的竹海，更有满山的珍禽异兽。山下有一湖，名月亮湖，两山印入湖中，山水一色，令人陶醉。
马仁山，原名马人山，后因每至深夜，山中马妖嘶鸣，百姓惊恐，有一神仙乘船来到此山，拔剑“断其首”，村民感念其仁德，将此山改名马仁山。古人有诗曰：“峰回九子凿天工，献壑争奇斗碧洞。记得马人鸣吼夜，旌旗喇喇动秋风。”
马仁奇峰景区以“马仁六奇”称绝，这里我们来向大家介绍六奇中第一奇——“奇峰”。
除了前面所说的鲁迅峰，下面再给您介绍一下美女峰。美女峰位于马仁寺左侧，山峰犹如仰卧着的一位秀丽、娴淑的少女，说起这个山峰，还有一个美丽的传说。
相传古时，山下有个财主叫莫龙，他女儿莫莺貌若天仙，聪明能干，她与村中的放牛娃相互爱慕，私订终身。可村中有个纨绔子弟杨耶早就垂涎莫莺美色，托人备礼提亲，莫龙惧怕杨家势力，只好应承，可莫小姐以死拒之，最后经多方协商，抛彩球招亲。招亲那天，山下热闹非凡，杨耶已派人将彩楼围住，欲夺彩球，这时牛哥突然放着鞭炮直奔彩楼，趁杨家人措手不及之时，小姐将彩球抛给牛哥，牛哥接球便跑，可半路上被追来的杨家人打死，夺回彩球。当晚，莫莺冒着狂风大雨，逃出莫家，在山脚下找到牛哥的尸体，失声痛哭后，以剪刀自刎，莫莺死后，她的坟墓便化作这座山峰，百姓们从此叫此峰为美女峰。
您再抬头看眼前这块巨壁，它是繁昌县十景之一，名“马仁石壁”此壁酷一只无头的石马，壁高百丈，气势非凡。
前面这根独立于万壑之间的擎天之柱即是“马仁六奇”之一的“奇柱”，此柱独秀江南，被誉为“芜湖第一柱”。
位于太阳山的太阳洞和月亮山的漏月洞，隔山相望，相应成趣，这便是“六奇”中的“奇洞”。
太阳洞生于太阳山顶，每至日出时，阳光透过此洞，光芒四射，变幻莫测，令人眼花缭乱、扑朔迷离。
月亮洞位于月亮山顶峰，此洞形似弯月，透过此洞，太阳山美景一览无余。月夜登临至此，透过山洞观月、将会看到十分奇特的马仁月夜。
“奇屋”即马仁石屋，为“马仁六奇”之一，石屋高约三十米，虽由三块鼎立的巨石组成，但室内明亮，能挡风遮雨，且雨再大也不会漏，是为一奇；到了夏季，人进入石屋，顿感凉风习习，遍体凉爽，是为二奇；站在洞中抬头又可见“人”字天，那是由两块巨石的间隙组成，“人”字苍劲有力，可谓巧字天成，令人叫绝，是为三奇；石屋中间立有一根神柱，高二十多米，直径约一点二米左右，神柱圆润光洁，石柱中段有一段裂缝，这还有段传说，当年这神柱以每日十丈的速度上长，直指天宫，玉帝恐石柱危及天庭，派雷公雷母将其击断，形成现在这个样子，此为四奇。
如果您游览到石屋，可顺石屋右侧的小路下去，在一块翘出的巨岩下，有一石臼，说起这个石臼，还有一个小故事。当年谭震林将军在马仁山下的中分村，指挥了著名的“五战五捷”的“繁昌保卫战”，在一次战斗中，几个战士与大部队失散，暂避于此，山下村中农民闻讯送来稻谷，战士们凿了这个石臼，用来舂米。竟然在此渡过难关，找到大部队，这也算是石屋的另一奇吧。
