Learn By Imitation Or Reflection
Good afternoon,honorable judges,distinguished guests,ladies and gentlemen:
Today I’d like to begin with my personal experience .I remebered on the first day of our zoology cla ,our profeor Mr.Feng said to us , “The celebrated Chinese philosopher Confucious once declared :’By three methods we may learn wisdom:first ,by reflection ,which is noblest ;second ,by imitation ,which iseasiest :and third ,by experience ,which is the bitterest .’Learn by imitation is easy .”He said ,”But by doing so ,you rest your own mind and let others rent space in your heads .Just like a parrot ;even though it can fly ,it prefers to stay in the same comfortable cage ,eat the same dry seeds ,and listen to the same words over and over again until it can say them easily .Opposite to parrots,”He added,”eagles have an inner drive to explore everything out there.They are not afraid to leave their familiar and comfortable nest,soaring high,to explore new territory .”
So ,my dear fellow students ,ask yourself :Are you learning by imitation or reflection ?which bird you want to be ?

女士们,先生们,各位尊敬的评委和嘉宾:
下午好!
今天我想以自己的亲身经历作为开头.我记得在我们第一堂动物学课上,冯教授告诉我们:“中国著名的哲学家孔子曾经说过：‘生而知之者，上也；学而知之者，次也；困而学之，又其次也；困而不学，民斯为下矣。’（《论语·季氏》）通过模仿来学习很简单,”他说,“但是这样做，你就不能独立思考，而仅仅接受别人的想法。就像鹦鹉，虽然能够飞行，但它宁愿呆在舒适的鸟笼里，吃着同样的种籽，日复一日地听同样的话，知道它轻而易举地说出来为止。和鹦鹉不同，”他接着说，“老鹰有着一内在驱动力去探索未知的事物，它们不会害怕离开熟悉而温暖的巢穴，而是展翅翱翔，开拓新的领域。”
那么，亲爱的同学们，问问你们自己：是在模仿式的学习还是在思考式的学习？你们愿成为哪一种鸟？
