Louisa May Alcott, who was born in 1832 in Germantown of Pennsylvanianand died in 1888,is a well-known American writer.Her father Brown\'s Alcott was a self-taught philosopher, reformer and utopian .All his life ,he indulged in the pursuit of the ideal world and was unable to support his
family.Therefore ,Louisa’s mother had to work very hard to provide for the big family.Later ,Louisa was obliged to work to earn mony to support her family.She had done all kinds of jobs ,such as school teacher ,seamstre,nurse and even maid ,which exposed her to a variety of experiences.
When Louisa was 10 years old ,she had already been keen on amateur perform.At the age of 15 ,she wrote her first
melodrama.In her early twenties,she began to publish poems and eays.Little Women ,her most famous and popular
novel ,published in 1868 and 1869 ,was based on her own experiences and life story.Since published ,Little Women hasbecome an immediate succe and become a claic in American1

experience all kinds of hardships ,but they manage to live
through them .In addition ,they overcome their own weaknees and pursue what they value most.And finally they find their true love in their life ,get married and live a happy and quiet
life .They become qualified little woman owing to their
experiences and their mother’s great efforts.

Mrs March and Mr March: Mrs March and Mr March have four daughters .Mrs March is a very kind and genteel
gentlewoman and does her best to bring up her daughters and make them become kind and gentle little woman.Mr March is a little unrealistic and has to fight for his country.
Margaret: Margaret is a charming girl of vanity ,who is alwayslonging for a luxurious life ,but has to work as a teacher to supp- ort her family.However ,she realizes that love and kindne are
the most important things in life gradually.Meanwhile,she fallsin love ove with Mr Brooke who is a poor man and abandons aunt Marge\'s legacy in the end .Finally ,she married Brooke andlive a happy life although she has to face poverty .She and Broo- ke loves each other and support each other.
Josephine:Josephine is a tomboy and she doesn’t like being a girlbecause she is eager to work to help her family and own her owncareer.At the same time ,she is a kind ,pure and responsible girl whohas great paion for her family and is willing to do anything for her family.She devotes most of her time to reading and writing .she likes Laurence but she refuses his proposal because she thinks Elizebethloves him.Thus ,she mies Laurence .But,she meets profeorBhaer and falls in love with him.They got married and set up aschool later and her dreams come true.
Elizebeth: Elizebeth is a quiet girl who is very fond of music and full of the spirit of sacrifice.Unfortunately,when she helps the Hummel family,she caught scarlet fever which makes her lose her life at last.However,she faces death calmly.All her
life ,she is always thinking about others and tries her best to help others.She is loved and deeply respected by everyone .And everyone feels extremely sad after she is dead.
Amy: Amy cares about her appearance and position a lot
because when she was very young ,her older sister ,Josephine damaged her nose a little .Thus ,she doesn’t like Josephine .She has a wonderful relationship with her biggest sister, Margaret.At the beginning ,she is a little selfish and wayward.But she becomes a genteel,wise and considerate gentlewoman at last after experiencing all kinds of sorrows ,happine
hardships.Painting is her favorite.In the end ,she got married to Laurence and gave birth to a daughter who is named Beth in honor of her sister , Elizebeth.
My own comprehension about the novel:The novel tells us the four daughters in March family find their true happine by
means of their kindne and hard work.What imprees me mostis their affection and loyalty to their family.The four daughters are very optimistic about everything and strict with
themselves.Besides ,they are independent and make every effort to find their own weaknees and improve their personality.
Family means a lot to them and they try their best to maintainand treasure it.For them ,family is not only a place where they were born but also a shelter from all kinds of hardships.And they are willing to defend it when they face poverty.They try all kinds of jobs to earn money to provide for their
family .Meanwhile,they look after each other ,support each
other and encourage each other.Their love for each other touch me deeply.
Their kindne and readine to help others also make a deep impreion on me .Although they live quite poor life ,they are willing to share what they have with poorer people and take care of them .And they find true happine in helping others and become mature and wise.
From them ,l learn that love ,family and friendship are the most valuable things in our life no matter who we are ,what we have and where we are.And we should treasure them all our lives.At the same time ,we should face life bravely and make every efforts to get through them .
