“读一本好书，就是和许多高尚的人谈话。”我想：不爱读书的人，是不可能理解这句话的真谛的。我爱上读书，还得从小说起，六岁时，我就学完了所有的拼音，尽管学得比较扎实，但要想读一连串拼音还是感觉力不从心，所以，读拼音读物就感觉很累。我的妈妈特别有耐心，只要一有空，准会坐在旁边陪着我一起读。有时候，读完一句话，都要花上好长时间，读了后面的就忘了前面的。
我多么希望妈妈能读给我听啊!可是妈妈总是说：“如果你自己能看了，就随时随地可以看。拼音读得多了，自然就熟练了。”在妈妈的鼓励和鞭策下，我就学着自己读带有拼音的书籍，有时看完一本小人书要半天时间，可我总是饶有兴致地读着。因为速度慢，常常一本书读完，里面讲些什么都记不清了。这时妈妈就建议我再看一遍。果然，读 在书中静静地遨游、徜徉……每天中午半小时的午阅时间，更是让我如鱼得水;平时做完作业，我准会一头扎进书堆。我的枕边，也不忘放上一本书，临睡前都要看上一会儿。有时连上厕所都要带上一本书，妈妈说我是名副其实的“小书迷”了。
