大学英语口语教学

语言学家Hymens认为，培养交际能力是语言教学的最终目的，学习者只有或得交际能力才能同时具备这门语言的基础知识和使用能力，并且仅仅掌握词汇和语法不一定等于掌握了英语语言。目前，随着社会和时代的进步发展，英语口语教学已经越来越受到大学英语教学的重视并成为其重要的组成部分。《大学英语课程教学要求》由教育部高教司制定的明确规定，其课程的教学目标是：培养和提高学生英语的综合应用能力，尤其是听说能力，这样以便他们在今后工作和社会交往中能用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流。可是长期以来，英语教学面临的主要难题就是口语教学，因而怎样改善英语口语教学从而提高学生英语的口语表达能力就成为大学英语课程研究的一个重要课题。

2.0 大学英语口语的教学现状分析 2.1 学生方面

2.1．1.说英语的动机不强

学生从初中，高中直到大学，每次英语考试只考笔试，从来没有重视英语口语的表达，更没有进行这方面的严格考试。学不学口语不影响考试分数和升学。正是因为没有升学压力、考试、监督力度，很大程度上促使英语教学环节也不受重视和适度的安排措施。学生竟学成了“哑巴英语”，不开口讲，不进行沟通交流，缺乏灵活使用英语的口头交际能力。

2.1.2 对说英语有心理障碍 第一，很多学生对英语口语课有胆怯、害羞的心里。这些心里问题使学生一说英语就紧张，一紧张就更加不知道说些什么。时间久了，形成条件反射，产生了口语表达上的障碍，进而更加害怕发言。其次，还有一部分学生会因为发音不标准和基础较差的问题产生严重的自卑感。最后，有相当一部分学生对英语口语学习不积极主动，缺乏表现欲。这样一来大部分学生基本不开口说英语。

2.2教学观念狭隘，教学方法陈旧

我国大学对于英语课程一直是更多的强调书面表达，完全忽视口语的重要性。课堂教学延续中学英语教学的特点以“教师为中心”的“填鸭式”教学，严重影响了学生英语综合水平的提高，让学生不能很好地发挥自己的学习主动性和创造性。并且，因为大学的不断扩招，导致了英语课人数过多，课时和课量有限，这些都对学生英语口语交际能力的有效提高不利。另外，多媒体语音实验室，网络设备等硬件设施的滞后，也导致英语口语教学实践受限。

2.3 英语口语教材的滞后

虽然大学英语教学一直在不断的改革，教材也在不断的更新，但是针对大学英语口语的教学理论和实践的改革仍然是大学英语课程教研的盲区。大部分的英语口语教材都是针对英语专业的学生，对非英语专业的大学口语教材很难找到。在选用口语教材上，很多高校都犯难。这对与英语教学的不重视有很大关系。

2.4缺少有效的评估体系

长期的应试教学模式，使口语考试没有像笔试那样列入正规的考试范围中，造成了重视笔试而轻视口语的现象。目前的

四、六级考试没有口语测试的要求，导致老师教英语以考试为目的，学生学英语以拿学位为目标，完全忽略英语口语的训练和培养。

3.0提高英语口语教学的对策 3.1 提高教师素质

针对对外语教学质量的五个因素，联合国教科文组织提出了一个公式:教学质量=[学生(1分)+教材(2分)+环境(4分)+教法(3分)]x教师素质。从这个公式可以看出，提高教学质量的关键因素是教师素质,想要提高学生的口语交际能力就必须提高教师素质。 口语教学需要有整体优良性的教师素质的团队。口语教师不仅应该具备标准的语音语调、正确的语法规则、规范的英语、汉语口语表达能力，掌握以英语为母语国家的文化背景知识及相关学科知识以外,同时应具备教研、科研能力。只有教师整体素质提高了,方能“名师出高徒”。然而,很多本科院校存在着很多问题，如英语教师数量不足,教师的知识水平、教学能力不高, 并且学院往往对新教师只考核外语知识,对年轻教师的培训也只侧重语言知识的积累和语言技能的提高。忽视了对教师整体素质的培养。

3.2 改变教学观念，调整教学目标，合理配置教学资源

大学英语教学必须重视口语教学，教师应该不断探究口语教学理论和策略。教学要以培养学生的语言总和能力为目标，让学生能够用英语进行交流。因而，大学应该专门开设英语口语课程，四六级考试也应该加入对口语测试的要求。各大高校要充分利用先进、信息技术改造现有的教学模式，使之有利于口语教学的开展。

3.3以学生为本

保罗.弗莱(巴西著名的教育学家)曾说过:教育者要比以往更具有一种科学能力来让他们理解这样一个事实,就是对学生所处的现实世界,语言和言语被学生所使用的包括口音以及并非一定能被教师的个人世界轻易接受的某些习惯、爱好、信仰、恐惧和欲望所形成的文化环境的了解是多么的重要。作为教育对象的学生也是影响教学质量的一个重要因素。“以教师为中心”转变为“以学生为中心”就是现代教学理念的一个巨大变化。在口语教学中，我们应格外重视学生的情感状态，探索降低情感障碍的方法，从而促进学生更多地“开口” 来提高其交际能力。教师应该对学生的长处和局限性有充分的了解，采用多样化的教学活动，培养和扩展学习风格，从而实现语言的交际性。

3.4不断创新教学模式和教学方法

口语课堂教学的关键就是要营造和谐融洽的课堂气氛，调动学生的积极性。教学模式和方法应该灵活多样，鼓励采用教师、学生、多美丽课件和网络四者的有机结合的教学模式。相对传统的教学模式，这种教学模式有其优势，最大的优势就是能将听说有机结合有效提高课堂时间利用率。 对于口语教学方法应该形式多样。（1）可以采用小组讨论的方式，由教师设定话题将学生分组进行自由讨论，选出代表进行汇总发言。（2）可以采用课堂辩论的方式，教师可以事先给出有争议性的并且贴合大学生的话题让学生课下充分准备，课堂上按学生准备的内容鼓励学生进行辩论。（3）还可以采用角色扮演的方式，老师可以让学生自主根据所学的精读课程的内容编对话，自编自演。（4）课外监督机制可以作为教师教学的一种方式要求学生在课外多听磁带,模仿其语音、语调,逐渐形成地道纯正的口语。

以上教学方法要很好地运用到大学英语口语教学中还有一定的难度，需要教师和学生的共同努力和配合。鉴于当前大学生基础较差，无法开口的现状，教师要有耐心，才去由浅入深、由易到难、循序渐进的方法开展口语教学。

为了调动学生的积极性和主动性，教师还应该重视英语第二课堂教学，鼓励并组织学生可与时间开展听力竞赛、口语竞赛、演讲比赛、戏剧表演等。而且可以开设英语角，增加学生主动说英语的积极性和外国朋友的沟通交流。这是提高英语教学质量的重要措施。英语课堂上的时间是有限的，语言的总和能力是需要一个从量变到质变的过程，这个过程只有通过大量的以学生认知为基础的语言实践才能实现。

4.0 总结

外语教学方法一直是被外语教学界所研究的一个重点.可是不同目的的培养, 决定了要用不同的方法。根据大学英语的口语教学的具体情况, 以学生为本，提高教师的整体素质, 改变教学观念，调整教学目标，合理配置教学资源，不断创新教学模式和教学方法，创造浓厚的英语语言环境,一定能提高口语教学质量,从而改变目前学生“难开口,开口难”的局面.参考文献

大学英语口语教学浅析

摘要：在英语教学中，由于多种因素的共同影响，学生的实际应用能力一直难以提高。本文分析了影响学生口语能力的因素．围绕诺言学家Littlewood将交际能力所概括的四个方面，提出培养学生交际能力的途径。

普通语言学认为语言是有声的，任何有声语言总是以口语为第一性，书面语是口语的文字记录，是第二性的，在语言的发展过程中口语始终处于首位。社会语言学认为，交际功能是语言的本质功能，语言是一种交际工具。交际能力不仅包括对一种语言的语言形式的理解和掌握，而且还包括对在何时何地、以什么方式对谁使用恰当语言形式进行交际的知识体系的理解和掌握。交际能力是一个复杂的概念，涉及语言、修辞、社会、文化、心理等多种因素，包括一个人运用语言手段(口头语或书面语)和副语言手段来达到某一特定交际目的的能力。语言学家Littlewood将交际能力概括成四点：①掌握语言知识，并能运用语言清楚地表达思想;②不仅掌握语言知识，还了解这些语言知识在交际中的作用；②学习者在使用语言时应考虑自己的社会地位及社会语境．并能从听者的反应中判断出所用语言是否恰当；④学习者必须了解语言的社会含义，能使用本族人普遍接受的语言。语言教学应该以教学生如何使用这种交际工具为主。语言知识的学习是为了更好地使用语言工具，发挥其交际功能服务的。英语口语教学应该围绕交际能力包含的内容，着重培养学生运用英语进行口头交际的能力。

一、影响学生口语能力的主要因素

以学生进入初中阶段开始学英语算起，进入大学之前，每个人接触英语的时间平均6—7年。初中3年加高中3年，英语学习往往花费上千学时，然而培养出来的学生只能背出一系列语法条条，却连最简单的常用语也听不借或说不出，英语听说能力严重不足。究其原因、我认为有以下几点。

(1)长期以来，英语教学一直走“语法翻译教学法”的路子。传统的英语课堂上教师采用“讲解一翻译一朗读—做题”的教学模式，语法知识被视为教学核心，教学以讲解词汇、语法和分析课文中的语言点为主，把语言作为理论知识来教，忽视了语言的交际功能。教学中以教师为中心，忽略了学生的主体因素。教师在课堂上就知识讲知识，学生被动机械地背诵模仿。久而久之，学生感到乏味。大多数学生语音不过关．他们付出了努力，所学得的却是“聋哑英语”，导致大部分学生知难而退，放弃英语学习。

(2)应试教育的观念根深蒂固，中考和高考乃至四级、六级考试试题都比较重视语法和书面知识。尽管这些年越来越多的教师认识到这一不足，将听力增设为考试内容。但内于实际操作难度较大，口语考试一直被排除在外，只有极少数四级、六级成绩优秀的学生才有机会参加。在这种情况下．教师不得不采用传统的模式，“肢解”课文．做句子的分析和翻译、词汇的讲解和练习，重视语言知识的学习，却忽视了学生运用语言能力的培养。

近年来，各种新兴的教学理论层出不穷，高校英语教师在这方圆也进行了积极的探索，但由于教学时数、教材使用、教学条件和设备及班级学小数量等因素的影响，成效并不显著。

二、口语教学中培养学生交际能力的途径

（一）加强阅读听力训练，增加语言输入与储备

众所周知，语言输入是语言输出和完成交际的必备条件。读与听是语言、知识、信息获取的重要手段．也是开口说话的第一步。大量的阅读与听力练习是学生获得语感以及学会正确表达自己思维的基本途径。读与听的过程不仅是一个接收的过程而且还是一个建立的过程。这个过程的第一阶段被称为感觉阶段。在这个阶段，学习者得到的仅仅是一个肤浅的印象，这基本上是一个被动和接收的阶段：第二阶段被称为识别阶段。这一阶段中学习者把所接收的信息加以识别，把已经识别的与正在识别的联系起来。这个识别过程是积极的、细致的。第三阶段为领悟和建立阶段。学习者通过认知系统重复一遍所接触到的材料，而且不时地把已经理解的东西与新学到的加以对照和修正，并以一种比较容易保留的形式被存入记亿里。这样，理解了的材料得到了改变，被保留下来的是语义信息。有了语义信息，人们再寻求表达形式*从这个过程，我们可以得出结论：学习者学说英语必须从听和读开始，开口说话，表达思想，进行语言交际便成了大量听和读的必然结果。学习者由于接触材料的深度与广度不同，口头交际能力差异很大。那些听得多、理解得多、读得广的学习者，口头交际能力就强；而那些听得少、读得不透彻的学习者，在表达时就会感到无话可说，或者不知如何说，口头交际能力自然就差。

(二)培养用英语思维的习惯，充实跨文化知识

用英语思维是指排除本族语的干扰，用英语直接理解、判断和表达。口语教学的日的在于培养学生的口头交际能力，学生应养成良好的口头交际的习惯，做到语言清晰、流畅、准确。培养学生用英语思维的习惯，加强英语思维能力训练是培养学生用英语表达思想能力的重要手段和途径。由于缺乏有效的语言输入，大多数学习者在表达前，把语义信息，即他想说的．在脑子里下意识地寻求母语的表达式，然后再把它译成英语。这种做法不可避免地会导致母语的干扰。这样借助于母语表达出来的东两多数是不地道的，运用这种方式与人交际经常会导致交际出现障碍甚至失败。在英语口语教学中应该让学生听地道的英语，培养他们边听边直接用英语把听到而且理解了的东西储存在记忆里的习惯，以及培养他们克服母语干扰直接用英语表达的良好习惯。学生通过一系列主动、积极的思维活动，理解和表达思想，接受和输出信息。正是在这种积极的思维和表达过程中，学生：才能获得真正的英语口头交际能力。

英语学习者在与英语本族人进行实际交往中，很容易将自己的母语使用习惯带人跨文化交际，从而引起误会，导致交流出现障碍甚至失败。由于母语文化因素的干扰，而说出不得体的英语的现象非常普遍。我们都知道，语言交流所涉及的不仅仅是一系列的语法规则及词条，而且还涉及语言使用的社会文化及风俗习惯。一句完全符合语法规则的话，用在不恰当的场合，说得不合说话人的身份，或者违反当地的社会风俗习惯，就达不到交际的日的。所以，在英语口语教学中，应该比较系统地将目的语的文化知识的传授融入教学中，使英语口语教学与文化教学相结合。在口语教学的初级阶段，教师应着重交际文化的导入，内容包括介绍日常生活交往方面英汉主流文化的差异，以及在语言形式和运用中的具体表现，打招呼和告别、各种称呼、祝贺和赞扬以及其他社交礼节等的差异介绍属于此类。介绍由于文化差异引起的英汉词语、成语、谚语和格言的意义及运用方面的差异，介绍英汉语言在比喻和联想运用上的差异以及英汉语言中典故、委婉语和禁忌语运用方面的差异等。学生通过这些差异的学习，就能理解各种英语表达法所涉及的文化内涵。在口语教学的高级阶段则着重导人知识文化，从中西文化差异的深层人手，介绍中西方思维方式、价值观念、认知行为、交际关系以及言语表达方式等方面的差异。学生通过中西文化此类差异的学习，就增强了文化差异意识，了解了西方的人际关系及交往的深层次模式，从而学会得体地进行交际。

（三）加强师生互动，趣化口语课堂

外语口语能力并非与生俱来，也很难在教学过程中立竿见影，它需要一系列的输入、模仿、分析等各方面的习得之后而取得。因此，口语课堂的每个环节、每个活动都必须有意义、有趣味，从而使学生集中于教学的内容而非形式上。教学内容必须难度适中。在具体的操作中，则宜遵循先模仿后应用、先机械后活用、先语言后交际的总原则来安排和开展，即呈现、机械性操练、有意义操练到交际性练习。

在教学的第一个阶段，教师可将与实际生活密切相关的语言资料或信息材料发给学生．并附上相关的词汇、句型及对话，让学生在对这些词汇和句型认知的基础上，先模仿其中的对话，再分组讨论，从中学习和掌握一些英语最基本的句型和习语、惯用语，要熟练到脱口而出的程度。掌握一些公式化的套语、记住许多现成的口头话语，对能编制出创造性的言语、弥补第二语言规则的不足以及摆脱交际困境都是必要的。由于这些交际性的内容难度适巾，又与学生的实际生活密切相关，为学生提供了很有价值的语言材料和语言信息，触发他们积极地投入学习的热情。

第二阶段的训练目标主要是培养学生连贯说话的能力。教学内容可包括爱情友谊、公共道德、人际关系、个性特点、生活习惯、趣味爱好、生活经历、体育运动、勤工俭学、学习方法、健康减肥等。在训练过程中，坚持采用“师生合作”、“小组合作”的教法和学法，充分体现教学民主，发挥“教与学”两个积极件，让学习主体更有发挥和展现才华的活动空间，具体做法是：让学生三至四人一小组进行分组讨论或说话演练，并以小组总体成绩作为评价和奖赏的依据；小组活动前，先指定“话题”，明确要求，让学生的讨论和“说话”能围绕“话题”，且有所侧重；在讨论中可以随时提问，问同学、问老师，随时把不懂的东西弄懂。这样，教师成为教学过程中的指导者、参与者和合作者，从中发挥主导作用，学生成为课堂学习的主人。计学习活动在教与学互动、学与练协调、资源共享、分工合作、互教互学、取长补短、教学相长的课堂氛围中体验学习的成功和语言实践活动的无限乐趣。这种“合作型”的教法和学法让每个学生以平等的身份互相切磋、合作学习、个体竞争，为互学互帮的合作学习活动。

第三阶段亦可称为创造性阶段。通过初级、中级阶段的学习，学生已有了用英语进行口头交际的强烈欲望，掌握了基本的英语口头交际的技巧，又具备了连贯说话的能力，这就为学生自由运用语言以及创造性使用语言打下了基础。高级阶段的教学内容可扩展到对各种问题及现象的讨论与辩论，比如孩子的教育、青年人的思想、妇女的社会地位、老年人问题、种族歧视、广告的优劣、电视中的暴力、代沟问题、浪费问题、人口问题、环境污染问题、住房问题、工作的意义等，教学方式主要采用辩论、演讲、小组讨论、总结发言等。通过这三个阶段的学习，学生就能逐渐地做到运用英语清楚地自由地表达自己的思想感情、意志以及观点，也就具备了比较强的英语口头交际能力。

三、结语

2l世纪，全球已经内产业经济时代步入到知识经济时代，具有创新意识和开拓能力的人才将具有特殊的价值。这种格局对我国的现行的人才培养模式和方向提出了重大的挑战，教育改革势在必行。外语专业人才的培养也要面向世界．重在交流和应用能力的培养。2004年教育部颁发的《大学英语课程教学要求(试行)》(教高字[2004]1号)中明确指出：“大学英语的教学目标是培养学生英语综合应用能力，特别是听说能力，使他们在今后工作和社会交

往中能用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流，同时增强其自主学习能力、提高综合文化素养，以适应我同经济发展和国际交流的需要。”这就为我们明确了外语教学改革的方向。灵活运用现代化的教学方法，结合本地区、本校的教学实际，有效地提高学生的交际能力是摆在每位教师面前的重要任务。总之，提高英语口语是一项系统工程，如何兼收并蓄、博采众长、因地制宜地制定出灵活有效的教学策略仍然值得广泛的探索与研究。

一、大学口语教学现状分析

为满足社会对英语尤其是口语人才的需求,近几年,英语口语教学越来越受到国家教委及应用型大学的重视。专家们提出了一些行之有效的口语教学方法:自主学习法(陈冬纯2006:3)、认知法在大学英语口语教学中的应用(孙倚娜2003:3)、课外监督机制在大学口语教学中的应用研究(祝询2005:4)、运用仿真情景对话培养英语口头交际能力(曾路,李超2005:4)、SBI在大学英语口语课的应用设计(高晓芳,袁禹2004:6)等。但由于传统教学方法在高校教学尤其是应用型大学中根深蒂固,且新的口语教学方法对老师的语言能力及文化素养要求较高,因此传统教学方法在英语口语教学中仍会发挥着主导作用(胡俊杰2007,2)。传统的英语教学过多地重视词汇,语法等概念化知识的积累,忽视了口语技能的训练。严重阻碍了学生口语水平的提高。并且,一些大学英语教学体制中仍存在一些严重损害着学生口语能力培养的现象:强调英语口语教学,往往忽略了语言教学的规律性和普遍性;教师整体文化素质偏低,不利于培养学生的听说能力;教学手段落后,很难为学生创设语言环境;教学方法陈旧,无法激发学生的兴趣。

二、针对以上存在的问题,提出以下改进措施 1.提高教师素质

联合国教科文组织对外语教学质量提出了五个因素与一个公式:教学质量=学生(1分)+教材(2分)+环境(4分)+教法(3分)]x教师素质。由此可见,教师素质是提高教学质量的关键因素,提高学生的口语交际能力必须提高教师素质。

英语教师的素质包括流利、地道、规范、顺畅的英文;宽泛的知识面;普通语言学和应用语言学理论;具备科研能力;具备自己的教学方法和解决问题的能力。(刘润清,戴曼纯2003:16)然而,应用型本科院校英语教师数量不足,导致教师的知识水平、教学能力不高,学院往往对新教师只考核外语知识,对年轻教师的培训也只侧重语言知识的积累和语言技能的提高。忽视了对教师整体素质的培养。口语教学要求教师素质的整体优良性。口语授课教师除具备标准的语音语调、正确的语法规则、规范的英语、汉语口语表达能力;除掌握以英语为母语国家的文化背景知识及相关学科知识以外,同时应具备教研、科研能力。只有教师整体素质提高了,方能“名师出高徒”。2007年是高等教育本科教学质量年。教学要求提高、学生水平提高以及对教师的教学考核标准提高将给教师带来很大压力(夏纪梅2007:02)。对此,口语教师应采取积极的态度,一方面要坚持收听、收看英语广播,英语节目、阅读最新外语报刊、书籍以提高业务水平;另一方面要充分利用多种资源,包括来自学生、教材、课堂、同事、专家、社会的资源,积极参加科学研究工作,在实践中不断完善自我。 2.了解学生文化

巴西著名的教育学家保罗.弗莱曾说过:教育者要比以往更具有一种科学能力来让他们理解这样一个事实,即对学生所处的现实世界,学生所使用的语言和言语包括口音以及并非一定能被教师的个人世界轻易接受的某些习惯、爱好、信仰、恐惧和欲望所形成的文化环境的了解是多么的重要。学生作为教育对象也是影响教学质量的一个重要因素。口语教师如何了解学生心智并怎样适时进行相应的调整,使其积极主动开口说英语,需要教师深入学生中,了解他们的家庭、学习、朋友、喜好等各方面的情况。特林.芬瑟着的《学校是一段旅程》中有这样一段话:教师努力成为孩子早期阶段敏感性的保护者;成为童年中期深度感觉生活和道德方向的引领者;成为青年期观念和理想发现的陪伴者。我认为口语教师应成为学生倾诉心声的聆听者;成为学生口语意识提升的促成者。 3.创设语言环境 上世纪二十年代英国帕默(H.E.Patmer)和洪贝(A.S.Hornby)等提出了情景教学(SituationalLanguageTeaching)的理论。认为语言学习中最重要的是为学习者提供真实自然的语言学习情景,使学生自然“习得”语言。这一理论对非英语国家的英语教育及普及起到了革命性的作用。在语言能力发展过程中,包括三个环节,语言的输入(Input)、学习者的中心处理(centralproceing)和语言的输出(Output)。要想培养学生讲得一口漂亮流利的口语,首先要给他们以足够的机会去听和读,即输入语言材料,只有在语言的输入积累到一个相当量的时候,才能逐步转化为说的能力。教师可以运用课外监督机制(祝寻2005,4)要求学生课外多听磁带,模仿其语音、语调,逐渐形成地道纯正的口语。也可以为学生播放英文歌曲、放映原版电影等激发学生学习英语的兴趣。使学生更加直接、真实地了解英语国家的风土人情、文化背景、思维方式等。在教学过程中,教师可以利用Shortreportatthebeginningofcla、RolePlay.、Game.、Storytelling以及Retelling为学生创造言语处理、言语输出的平台。语境是提高教学质量的另一重要因素,也是二语习得的保障。因此,大学在外语教学中应给予高度重视。

一、影响学生英语口语能力提高的问题

（一）语音不标准——方言的影响

大学生来自祖国的四面八方，很多学生的普通话都不是很标准，带有浓重的地方口音，因此从他们嘴里讲出来的英语同样也具有地方特色，这其实也与他们在中小学阶段接受的英语教育有关，大部分基础英语教育的老师由于轻口语重语法忽视了学生在讲英语这一能力上的培养。因此，这样的学生，即使语法掌握得很扎实，也还不能和外国人交流。小到单词、音标，大到句子、段落，都受到他们方言的影响，而说不标准。

（二）表达不地道——母语思维的影响

几乎所有的学生在用英语说话时，都会经历这样的思维过程：听到英语——翻译成汉语进行理解——用汉语思考要说的话——翻译成英语表达出来。很明显，这样的思维过程，一定会受到母语思维的影响。如果始终以这样的逻辑思维来讲英语，说出来的英文永远不会是地道的英文，而是中国式英语，即使学习英语多年，词汇量很大，在口语表达上也难以达到让人满意的效果。

（三）羞于开口——缺乏信心的影响

尽管学生们已经意识到英语口语的重要性，并且知道提高口语水平最有效的方法就是张开嘴，勇敢地说出来，但还是有很多学生由于缺乏信心而羞于开口。其实在这些学生的内心深处是很渴望有锻炼的机会，但由于基础较差，带有浓重的地方口音，怕发音不标准，表达不准确而被人嘲笑，因此导致相当一部分学生在英语课堂上总是沉默是金。所以，这些学生直到大学毕业，英语口语水平仍然没有得到提高。

二、提高学生英语口语能力的解决方法

（一）纠正学生的英语发音即语音语调

在大学英语的第一堂课，向学生阐明正确发音的重要性，即标准的发音是一个人英语口语素质的基本体现。并且督促学生积极纠正，在课下同学之间互相帮助，互相监督。同时教师也应该帮助学生总结一些极其容易出错的发音在课堂上有针对性地指出，让学生引起足够的注意和重视。教师可以安排学生课下做一些他们感兴趣的原声材料模仿练习并要求在课堂上进行展示，例如，电影对白，演说词，诗歌朗诵，英文歌曲等。学生通过模仿不仅可以纠正每个单词的准确发音也可以有意识地去学习纯正英文中的语调及地道的表道方法，从而增加对英语的语感。长此以往，一定能收到意想不到的效果。

（二）培养学生用英语思维的能力 （1）鼓励学生掌握尽可能多的词组

在大学英语教学中，单词的学习，不能占用太多的课堂时间，而应该成为学生自主学习的一项主要内容。传统教学中比较重视的单词的掌握，并配以一定的例句，但在实际生活中，词组才是人与人交流的最小单位。因此，学生应以词组为单位，尽可能多地掌握词组。教师为了引导学生可以在课堂上适当地加入词组接龙竞赛之类的游戏，要求学生按顺序将自己所掌握的词组写到黑板上，这种方法一方面可以活跃课堂气氛，另一方面也可以提高学生记忆词组的积极性。 （2）地道英语/固定表达法的学习

有些地道的英语表达法可以猜出他们的意思，却很难在说的时候想到这些固定的说法。所以，教师应该引导学生多看些纯正的英语阅读材料，地道的英语影片，并有意识地积累这样的句子，比如用一个小本子把平时看到的这样一些纯正地道的句子记下来，有空时就多拿出来翻一翻，读一读，在日常的生活中也可以随时地向周围同学朋友“显示一下”，来帮助自己记忆。这样，久而久之，在很多情境下，学生们就可以按照英语的模式来表达意思了。 （3）背诵文章讲故事，培养语感

学生通过背诵短小精悍的文章，可以缓解畏难情绪，激发他们的兴趣，更重要的是培养了他们的语感。在跟读——朗读——背诵这三步曲的练习中，学生们大大提高了他们的断句能力和理解能力。其实，无论是什么材料，只要是地道的英文，难度符合学生的水平，内容是学生们所感兴趣的，坚持背诵，都能提高学生的语感。例如，教师可以在每节口语课上安排一个学生讲故事的环节，要求学生们把课下收集的或者自己写的感兴趣的故事或者笑话在课上讲给大家听，其实只要是学生感兴趣的，他们都能在课堂上勇跃表现。

（三）因材施教，营造轻松氛围，激发信心

作为教师，要尽量了解每一个学生的水平和需求，给大家发挥的空间；在课堂上营造轻松的氛围，消除学生的紧张感；在练习的过程中，难度从易到难，尽量把

在浮躁的社会大背景下，大学英语教学体制中存在一些严重损害着学生口语能力培养的现象。首先，强调英语口语教学，往往忽略了语言教学的规律性和普遍性。他们频频组织各种英语演讲赛和辩论赛。可大量的经费投入，特殊超常规的训练，诱导高校只是注意培养少数学生。其次，巨大的需求带来了巨额的商业利润，出版界对此作出了强烈的回应。有关英语口语方面的学习训练材料充斥书店，甚至是临近学校的街头巷尾的地摊。由于大多数是急功近利的产物，以致良莠难分，学生们最终失望地发现，其捧回的东西，往往在话题覆盖面、对话情景、语言层次、话语篇幅方面，难以助其达到在一定的场合用确切的语言表达复杂的思想的交流目的。再次，机械的以数量为主的评估体系，不但成了高校考察教师科研和教学水平的尺度，也成了衡量学生英语水平、包括口语水平的标准，因此，各类八股式的口语考试粉墨登场。由于缺少对口语教学的培养目标、教学内容、教材、测试、教学方法和手段的系统研究，而以学生得到一个考试成绩为终极。当这些学生日后进入真正的国际交流场合，还是感到难以开口。

9.2。教师人数匮乏，也造成口语教学研究的薄弱，并导致了当今口语教学理念和教学模式滞后于口语应用能力培养需求的局面。仅以2002年国内4个主要外语教学研究学术期刊为例，一年内刊登的有关大学英语学生口语应用能力培养的论文仅为5篇。如果口语课程成为大学英语课程系列的重要部分，可以预见，关于口语课程教学模式和方法研究将得到重视并蓬勃发展；教学模式、方法的研究和创新又必将提高口语应用人才的培养水平。同时，口语课程成为大学英语系列课程的组成部分，将有助于口语应用能力培养中教学内容的完善和教材的开发。外语教学界应该鼓励一批国内学者，甚至通过他们与英语国家的专家合作，在充分认识我们的培养目标、深入研究现有的各种口语教材的基础上，开发出符合我国高校实情、遵循口语教学规律、具有可操作性和系统性的口语课程教材，这类教材可以从两个不同系列进行开发：

1、口头交际能力教材系列，这个系列的教材在语境和话题上应该具有兼容性，在语言水平上具有多层次性，既有助于培养不同专业背景学生的口语表达能力，又适应口语能力培养的长期性，以便学生能够获得从一般会话、简单交流到进行复杂思想的交流和公开演讲的能力；

2、以各个专业为情景基础的口语教材，这些教材应该具有专业特殊性，甚至结合双语教学的展开，强调如适用于金融、贸易、传媒、信息等系统行业的口语交流内容，以便专业人才掌握展示才能等能力、培养其在本领域直接进行深入交流的能力。

高职院校学生英语口语现状分析及其对策

摘要]：文章对高职院校学生的口语现状进行了研究，认为高职院校学生口语水平低下的原因具有复杂性和多元性，要改变这一现状，笔者认为教师需要从高职院校学生的实际出发，了解学生需要，运用有效的教学策略，提高教学质量。

[关键词]：高职院校；英语口语；对策

高职院校学生群体的特殊性，使学生英语口语水平参差不齐。绝大多数的学生都只会一点点常用的交际用语，如简单的打招呼、问路、购物、自我介绍等，遇到复杂的情况，他们就无所适从。因此，我们要研究高职院校学生的现状，理解他们的学习需要，设计符合他们的实际情况的口语课教学。

一、高职院校学生英语口语水平低下的原因分析

造成高职院校学生英语口语水平低下的原因具有复杂性和多元性，据笔者观察研究，主要可以归纳为以下几个方面：

1、教学目标缺乏挑战性。

原国家教委颁布实施的《大学英语教学大纲》（文理科，1985）对大学英语教学听说的要求是：能够用所学的功能意念进行简单的日常会话，能就教材内容进行回答。应该说，这个要求并不高，而现今颁布的中学《英语课程标准》则要比它高得多。试想一下，如果一位在中学里就能按所给的情景对话，并达到有条理地叙述主题，意思连贯，表达清楚的学生，进大学后反而去操练简单的日常会话，

并对教材进行回答，那么学生还会有多少积极性？

2、评估标准的单一性。

至今，对非英语专业学生的评估标准就是大学英语的四，六级考试。各教育行政机构对院校的评价也是以四，六级考试的通过率为主要标准，以此作为衡量该院校办学水平的标尺之一。在这样的评价体制下，中国大学非英语专业的英语教学始终未能跳出应付四，六级考试的层面。而在国家已进入WTO的今天，这种教学模式已落后于市场对于人才的需要标准。对高职院校的学生而言，说的能力是他们在涉外企业求职时首先亮相的技能，说得好就可能意味着求职的成功。

3、学习者学习动机的短视性。

在笔者进行的口语能力的调查中，我们可以清楚地看到本校学生对英语科设定的学习目标就是苦读几年，拿到四，六级证书，为进入市场竞争做好准备。应该说这是无可厚非的，但从学习者个体长远发展来看，却是缺乏生命力的。

4、学习者认知特征的多元性。

笔者在教学实践中发现，大部分学生不愿意或不敢开口说英语，这有其内在的原因：

1)心理/情感因素。由于学习风格的不同，每个学习者个体认知的表现方式就不同：视觉型的学生喜欢通过观看的渠道来感知学习内容，但对口头解说等没有视象辅助的学习内容则难于理解；听觉型的学生喜欢通过谈话交流、课堂表演、听唱歌曲、磁带来学习英语；而动觉型的学生则喜欢通过读和写、动手操作学习，尤其喜欢表演动作，爱打手势，表情丰富等。但是很多学习者并不了解自己的性格特质，而盲目地运用别人认为正确的学习策略，无法形成适合自己的学习策略，故而学习效果也是事倍功半。如果教师无视学生的学习风格和个性特质，用一个模式和一种要求来教学，那效果肯定会大打折扣。 

2)学习者原有语言能力的脆弱性。学习者个体进入高职院校前的语言学习经历、学习水平和学习期望会直接影响他们入大学后的学习动机、学习兴趣和学习效果。高职院校学生在中学学习期间由于各种原因，导致了英语语言综合素质不高，口语表达能力更弱的状况。比如，中学英语的大班化教学使学生口头表达的机会严重受到限制，学生长期以来很少感受英语学习成功的喜悦等。而这种现状在大学英语口语课教学时直接表现为学生底气不足、不敢开口，间接表现为对英语学习兴趣不大，期望值不高。故而导致学习者个体的学习动机低下，学习态度被动，课堂参与度不高，遇到困难迂回绕道，学习持久性难以保持等种种现象。

3)传统学习文化的影响。学生不愿说英语，口语能力低下的另一个重要原因是受传统学习文化的影响。长期以来，很多学生认为学习英语就是遵循课堂上听老师讲课，听录音磁带，课后做书面练习的途径来进行。他们不愿意把时间花在与同伴和老师对话、交流以获得口头交际的能力。他们的这种学习方式是在先前的学习经历中形成的，学生想当然地认为英语就是这样学的。

5、教材相关性差。

据笔者所知，就高职院校而言，全国还没有一套统一的英语口语教材，使用的都是普通院校的教材。结果导致教学内容与高职学生的需要相关性不大，与他们的实际程度也相去甚远。俄国语言学家Volgosky的最近发展区理论（ZPD）认为课程设置与课程目标的确定要视学生的具体情况而定，要让学生有“跳一跳能摘下桃子来”的感觉。如果要求太高，学生成功无望，何来学习兴趣和学习动机？Krashen （1982）也在其第二语言习得理论中提出了著名的“i+1”输入假设（Input Hypothesis）。他认为人是通过理解比现有语言水平略高的语言输入，再通过不断积累而逐渐习得语言能力的（转引自范谊，1998）。如果学生原有的知识为i，下一个阶梯需要掌握的知识为1，这个“ⅰ+1”的学习过程必须充分而恰当，这是一个由低级往高级阶段循序渐进的动态过程。如果这个循环过程中的某个链接和台阶跨度太大，就会给学生带来压力和挫败感。

二、高职院校口语教学的策略

针对高职院校学生群体英语口语的现状和学生的认知特征，笔者在教学实践中主要运用了以下一些教学策略，以期保证口语课教学的效益和效果：

首先，教师应尊重学习主体的需要，从高职院校学生的实际出发，找到激发学生学习积极性的结合点。产生外语学习动机的个人需要可以分为四种：生存需要，发展需要，工作需要和教育需要。大部分高职院校的学生希望通过学习外语获得文凭，获得好的工作，或者获得某种职位的提升。这是一种典型的工具型动机，比较急功近利。一旦这种需要能够通过其他途径满足，那么学习外语的意愿就会明显下降。

因此，笔者在教学实践中时时将学生的需要放在第一位，并不断帮助学生提升需要的层次。让学生“风物长宜放眼量”，充分认识外语口语交际能力在当今世界不仅是谋生的需要，也是教育的需要和终生发展的需要。

其次，用教师的创造性劳动去弥补教材的缺陷。

口语课教学具有很大的灵活性，但如果教师拘泥于教材内容，学生的水平只会停留在交际能力所

涵盖的前二个层面上：1）语言的语法和词汇知识；2）口语表达的基本规则。课堂互动缺乏挑战性、模糊性，缺少信息差，缺少意义协商。久而久之，学生就会感到乏味，就会丧失已经建立起来的学习动机。

因此，笔者认为教师应将课本作为蓝本，教师需选择与教材主题相关的补充材料，并加以整合和发展。这些材料必须具备下面的几个特点：1）相关性和趣味性。2）实用性和真实性。3）适切性和可理解性。

4）挑战性。即材料中所设计的活动一定要对学生的思维发展具有促进作用。这样，学生接触的语言材料是生活化的，真实的，容易使学生保持良好的学习动机和持续的学习兴趣。

再次，有效的运用各种教学策略，保持口语课课堂交互活动的生命力（Claroom dynamics）。 高职院校的口语课教学需要教师运用多种教学策略，使课堂的交互活动始终处在一种“动态”、“积极”、“参与”、“合作”、和“成功”的状态。

1）建构支持性的环境。通常，中国学生害怕在同伴面前出丑，因为中国文化中，“群体概念是很强的，在群体压力下，为避免被群体抛弃或受到冷落，会产生从众行为”。大多数学生在发言前，总爱张望同伴的反应，不愿意做出头鸟，害怕成为同伴攻击的目标，担心在同伴的面前失去“面子”。这种意识，影响了他们想发言的欲望。

笔者以为创设并形成支持性的学习环境，是教师首选的教学策略。在这个环境中，学习伙伴之间相互支持，相互理解，相互接纳，学生在这个环境中有安全感，不会因为自己某方面的缺陷和不足而感到不适应或者有压力，从而有勇气面对学习的挑战，不怕犯错，敢于开口。教师要容错，反馈多从积极，鼓励的层面上进行，应多给学生支持、加油并喝彩。

2）兴趣教学策略。“兴趣是最好的老师”。口语课教学设计的起点应建立在是否有趣味性和可参与性。教师不仅需熟悉教学内容，更要了解高职院校学生的兴趣所在，应知道学生中的流行活动和各种时尚，了解他们的价值观和人生观。尽量设计出学生喜闻乐见、参与性强、并具有一定创新和挑战的语言活动，调动起学生的学习热情，使学生保持最佳的学习状况。

3）开放式教学策略。学生是学习的主体。在口语课教学中，怎样发挥他们的主观能动性，去展开想象的翅膀，有效地开展口头交际训练呢？笔者采用了开放式的教学策略，如：brainstorm, role play, debate, project presentation, speech等活动。这些活动既有效地推动了课堂交互活动，使之充满了生活情趣和生命力，还使大学的口语课教学真正脱离了低层面的语言训练，使之朝高层次思维能力的培养方向发展。

4) 任务型活动策略。任务型教学的倡导者认为，掌握语言的最佳途径是让学生做事情，即完成各种任务。当学习者积极地参与用目的语进行交际尝试时，语言也被掌握了。当学习者所进行的任务是他们当前的语言能力发展至极点时，习得也达到了最佳状态。

其实，口语课的教学质量在很大程度上取决于教师的设计和调控。任务型教学的课堂模式强调从做中学，每项任务的提出是从真实生活实际出发的，这有利于学生建构语言的综合运用能力。笔者尝试将这一先进的教学理念引入口语教学中，以期更好地调动学生的学习积极性。笔者常常以主题为核心，结合本校学生的实际，设计不同的口语任务。这些任务由简到繁、层层递进、前后相连，由基本的课本任务（enabling task）到拓展性任务（activation task），由教学任务（pedagogical task）到真实情景中的实际演练任务（performing task），引导学生掌握口语交际的基本技能和技巧，逐步帮助学生达到交际能力的后两个层面：学生知道如何运用和应对不同的言语行为；学生懂得在不同的交际场合下采用得体的言语行为（Richards, Platt and Weber, 1985,转引自Nunan, 1999）。高职院校的口语课教学有它的特殊性和艰巨性，但只要教师深入了解学生，善用教学策略，这种局面是可以改善的。

我很幸运能有机会担任汉语学院本科教育一年级的口语课程。很感谢领导的信任，把这么重要的任务交给我。很感谢学校给我这个对外汉语教师行业的新生儿成长的空间。所以对于本次教学任务我很重视，也很珍惜。这主要表现在以下方面： 首先，每次课前我都会认真地准备，自己拿不准的地方求助于词典。我很清楚自己所教的对象不是普通的汉语学习者，而是未来的汉语专业人士。正确是第一位的。这当然是每一个教师首先应该追求的，但对于教未来的汉语专业人士，这一点及其重要。如果他们学到了错误的东西，是不能被社会原谅的。

英语口语交际是当今社会的热门话题，一个人的英语口语交际能力直接体现着他的水平，同时也关系到他的前途命运。因此，加强学生英语口语交际能力就成了当前教育工作的重点。英语口语交际是以训练学生口头表达能力，培养学生与人交往意识和习惯，提高交际能力为目的。

一、英语口语交际教学正在优化了学生的口语水平。

由于认真执行英语口语交际计划，落实英语口语交际教学内容，精心组织，学生的口语交际水平有了一定程度的提高，表现在口语交际时说普通话的更多了，使普通话确实成了校园的语言，表现在学生的说方言土语的现象大为减少，也就减少了脏活粗话多，文明礼仪的话多了，表现在说话的规范、完整上，用了普通话。避免了方言土语的缺陷，使得表达更为准确了；表现在学生更加落落大方了，不在有那么多农村孩子的影响，说话变的自然大方，课堂回答变得声音响亮，姿态自然了；表现在说话变的有条理畅所欲言，表达能力增强了。 现在发展情况还不够平衡，女同学优于男同学，家庭文化素质好的优于家庭素养差的，城区学生优于农村学生，但喜欢英语口语交际的情况大为改观，学生勇于表达的情况也大为改观，学生表达能力也更为改观。

二、优化英语口语交际的方法

1、依托课堂教学，强化双语互动的语言实践。

过去的课堂只注重读写，而忽视听说，学生的口语训练仅局限在回答老师的问题，很

少有双向互动的英语口语实践。今年的口语交际课或语文课上，我有意识的设计师与生，生与生的口语交际实践，如复述、讨论、争辩、评价等。如在评议《嗟来之食》的时候，不少同学只侧重于评价那个人的骨气，最后我也谈了一点，别人已道歉，已无不吃之理。灵活、理解别人也同样重要。学生们在这样双向互动的口语交际实践中得到了听说的训练和思维的拓展。

2、关注生活，创设情景

生活就是英语英语口语交际的内容，英语口语交际就是生活的工具，丰富多彩的生活为口语交际教学提供了源头活水。我在口语交际中善于捕捉现实生活中的精彩画面，创设交际情境。如刚上完第一单元，那时学生还与我不熟悉，他们对老师的情感还停留在以前老师的身上，我就让他们说说上任的老师，这样，学生自然有了话题可说。

3、奏响“三步曲” 口语交际要有趣味性。我在这方面奏响三步曲：既：看一看，演一演，练一练。

口语交际中有的配有插图，还设计了提示或问题，所以要想说得好，必须看得好，因此要先在指导看上抓实、抓好。

在学生明确口语交际的基础上，要充分利用教材提供的英语口语交际情境，让学生扮演人物，引导进入情境，加深感悟，如在评议《嗟来之食》时，评议结束，我又让学生分角色来演，使学生读“尊重、侮辱”的含义，有了切身的体会。

三、任重道远，尚须努力

回顾这一学期觉得有收获，但同时内心也有一丝不安和愧疚，觉得还有几多不足和缺憾。

1、途径还不够广，基本上只局限在口语交际课上，今后，要采取多种途径，如每日一辩， 紧密结合当天班内发生的事进行辩论，再如叙述见闻，自我介绍，一周小结等，这样才会更生动。

2、在阅读教学中加强英语口语交际训练。

口语交际途径多，口语交际与阅读教学也有千丝万缕的联系，不能把二者割裂开来， 在这方面也觉得很不足。

今后计划要把口语交际开拓到阅读课上，做到在质疑释疑中加强口语交际，在评议中加强训练，在小组合作学习中加强训练，在社会活动中加强训练。

摘要：近年来，学习策略成为英语口语教学的重要内容之一。非英语专业大学生使用频率最低的社交策略大大妨碍了他们成为成功的口语学习者。通过分析这一问题不同的表现形式和形成原因，介绍了相应的社交策略培养的具体实践。

关键词：大学英语口语 社交策略

一、前言

根据Oxford(1990)，第二语言学习是一个由直接策略和间接策略两2部分6个子项组成的策略系统，包括：(1)元认知策略(Metacoganitive Strategies)(如集中注意力、有意识地寻找练习机会，自我学习计划的制定，学习过程的监控和学习结果的自我评估等)；(2)情感策略(Afective Strategies)(如减低焦虑程度、自我鼓励、了解自己的情感状态等)；(3)社交策略(Social Strategies)(如询问问题，以及在学习的过程中学习伙伴相互帮助共同促进，培养合作学习技能等)；(4)记忆策略(Memory Strategies)(如归类和意象等)；(5)认知策略(Coganitive Strategies)(如推理、分析、概括和操练等)和(6)补偿策略(Compensation Strategies)(如根据上下文猜测以及迂回表达法等)。

从笔者的观察及与学生们交流后所得的反馈信息来看，大多数学生在口语学习中使用频率最低是社交策略。而由此反映出的英语学习者的不良学习习惯也大大妨碍了他们成为成功的口语学习者。通过实践，笔者发现在课堂内外对学生们进行社交策略的培训，培养他们有意识地多运用这一策略，可帮助他们高效地完成学习任务，显著提高其口语水平。以下就笔者的具体实践加以简要介绍。

二、多媒体教学环境下学生社交策略的培养

社交策略在学生们的口语学习中使用频率很低，具体表现在：

(1)在课堂内外不敢主动大胆地用英语提问题，这和西方课堂上学生随时提问大相径庭。究其原因，一是传统的教学模式，教师满堂灌的“填鸭式”教学使学生成为知识的被动接受者，学生发散性思维及创造性思维能力差，所以提不出问题，不会提问题；二是中国传统的儒家思想讲究“面子”，学生怕自己问的问题毫无价值或是担心自己的语音或语法错误被人嘲笑，“丢面子”，而不敢用英语提问。针对这一现象，首先应鼓励学生们大胆用英语提问(既可以向老师提问，也可以向同学求助)，强调提问的及时性。因为具有普遍性和代表性问题能帮助自己和其他同学共同解决学习中的难题。其次是利用现代化的信息技术，实现师生及生生在互联网的交流平台上就口语问题进行解答。再次是创造民主和谐的课堂氛围，在口语活动设计时多提开放性问题，培养学生的创造性思维及多维文化视角，在回答问题的过程中耐心听取不同答案，引导学生相互讨论不同意见，并在讨论的过程中大胆地用英语发问。

(2)在课堂内外除非是迫不得已，一般不愿主动用英语进行口头交际，其原因与不敢用英语提问大体相同。教师在设计课堂口语交际活动时，可适当地采用支架式教学(instruc—tional scafolding)，通过提供媒介支架(如播放相关的音频及视频文件)、任务支架(如在多媒体课件中详细列明需完成的口语交际任务的每一个步骤的具体内容和要求)、材料支架(如对音频及视频文件中相关的交际功能性句型进行提炼并列举同类的经典句型，要求学生当堂重复并在虚拟的交际情境中灵活运用)，从而帮助学生们通过先听先看获得有效的语言输入，再说再谈从而顺利地完成语言输出，能用地道的英语进行口语表达，最大地优化口语学习效果。而在设计课后口

语作业时，则尽可能地创造真实的英语交际环境。如对来本校的国际交流学生进行采访或邀请他们共同参与各类校园文化活动，或在外籍游客聚集的旅游景点提供语言方面的志愿者服务，或是在外籍人士出现较多的英语角、英语沙龙或咖啡厅完成各种不同的口语交际任务，或是创造与外籍教师直接进行口语交流的机会(如带外教进行校园一日游，上超市购物，去邮局寄信，去医院看病，去学校餐厅就餐，去图书馆借书或去书店买书)等。真实的语言情境更能激发学生们的学习英语口语兴趣及动力，在进行口语交际时不仅能可以让学生们自己检验学习目标掌握的程度，还能提高学生们的应变能力，完成口语任务后也能获得更大的成就感。

(3)偏好独自学习，不擅长集体学习和合作学习。造成这一现象的原因是传统的教育使中国学生一直处于竞争激烈的学习环境，升学的压力使家长和老师过分强调个人的竞争能力而忽略了培养合作学习能力。而同班同学问或同组同学问的合作学习可以建立良好的同学关系，培养学生们的团队意识，实现优势互补，互帮互助，相互鼓励，提高英语口语的学习效率。

教师在设计课堂口语活动时，应避免口语活动的单调性，组织情景对话、短剧表演、小组讨论、课堂辩论、故事接龙等需要伙伴或小组成员合作完成的内容。在课堂分组时，要考虑学生的智力水平、语言能力、学习能力、男女生比例的合理搭配，要求组内成员的学习风格、学习基础、个人性格特征及年龄性别的差异性，即“组内异质”，从而实现小组成员内部的相互学习，相互借鉴和共同进步。而每个小组的总体英语水平、活动积极性及创新能力也应大体保持平衡，从而保证小组之间竞争的公平性。由于对小组活动的评价和奖励是以小组整体目标达成为依据，所以往往会出现口语能力强的学生不愿与口语能力差的学生分在一组，认为这样会被拖了后腿，所以他们在小组活动中要么是独占主角，要么是不能耐心地倾听口语能力差的成员的表达。针对这种情况，教师应向学生们介绍在国际交流日益频繁的当今社会，英语有诸多变体，不同国家和地区的人在说英语时口音也会各不相同，所以不能仅要求自己能听懂标准的英式或美式英语，而接触萁其他英语变体时就变得茫然不知所云。而在小组合作学习的过程中就是一个练习听力理解的好机会，同时还能帮助小组成员纠正发音错误，而学生们在合作的过程中，避免了传统的老师提问，学生回答的单向交流模式，需要使用诸如劝告、征求和表明意见、请求和提供帮助、询问和表示赞成与否、做出判断、给予鼓励等多种功能性语言，其过程本身就是一个英语口语表达的真实情境中的实践，还能帮助学生们养成用英语进行思维的好习惯。所以教师一定要在活动前向学生们强调不能过分看重小组口语活动的最终结果，而在口语活动的准备和练习过程中用汉语进行交流，不仅浪费了课堂上宝贵的口语练习时间，而且降低了合作学习的效度，未能真正达到练习口语的目的。

课后口语作业的设计更应向合作学习倾斜。小组口语活动要求每个成员的参与，所以需要各成员各负其责，学生可先自行选择或分配角色，尽量发挥个人所长，共同完成任务。然后进行“换位练习”，即在学习任务不变的情况下，各小组成员承担与首次不同的责任或角色，再次进行口语练习。即使是个人口头陈述、复述故事、一分钟演讲等个人即可完成的口语作业也要求小组成员之间互评互改。这样不仅能帮助学生各自认清自身在口语方面的优势和劣势，还能更直接更方便地吸取小组其他成员的成功经验，拓展思维，加强语言形式的丰富性，使话语内容更具深度广度。

三、结语

社交策略对英语口语学习有着举足轻重的影响。社交策略有助于学生通过澄清疑问，合作学习，完成口语交际任务，完成语言学习的交际目的，成为高效的学习者。因此，英语老师和学生都应加强社交策略的培养意识，在教和学的各个环节充分强化这一策略的使用。

Friendship

A person can have many friends but only one or two bosom friends.We regard some of our friends as our intimate friends, and others as ordinary friends.Those who are unfaithful to us can’t be called our friends.

Dealing with cultural differences

People from different countries speak different languages, keep different value systems, and have different ways of looking at things.These differences are generally called cultural differences.Cultural differences are subtle and are often unrecognized or overlooked.It is upsetting to find people who behave differently from us.We may, at first, aume that something is wrong with them..

Cultural backgrounds may influence people’s way of thinking.First, cultural background influences what people consider to be good manners or bad manners.Second, it influences what they consider to be polite or rude.Third, it influences what they consider to be on time or late.

Failure to recognize cultural differences may cause many problems.On the one hand, those who are uninformed about cultural differences may have difficulty communicating with their busine aociates from other cultures.On the other hand, inability to recognize cultural differences can make mutual understanding difficult.

There are many ways to deal with cultural differences.First, we can avoid unintentionally offending others by learning the basic characteristics of other cultures.For instance, we may ask our foreign friends about their everyday customs or take time to explain certain common customs of our own culture to them.

One world

In a sense, the world is a very complicated network, in which , people of the world are one big family.The world in which we live gives birth to the human race.For together we exist, and together we try to make the world better for all.Although people in different countries have different traditions, they are eentially the same everywhere.They will go through the same life stages in their life, babyhood, childhood, adolescence, youth, middle age and senior age.All human beings have the basic needs to eat, to have shelter and clothing, and to work.

They also need to love others and be loved.They all seem to celebrate certain days such as New Year’s Day, Mother’s Day, Children’s Day, etc.

Admittedly there are differences among people from different cultures.With the rapid development of transportation means and the information technology the world is getting smaller and smaller.Contacts between cultures give great acce to promote the mutual understanding among peoples of the world.

Explaining procees

We are often expected to give oral presentations to our clamates and teachers.Our performance in oral presentations will form an important part of the overall aement of our work.

Many students find giving an effective oral presentation difficult and streful.In giving an oral presentation, we should not only organize information and ideas coherently but also deliver the speech in a clear and vivid way.Using charts, photos and computer graphics can help us to get our meage acro and to make our presentations clear, interesting and memorable.The use of visual aids such as overheads, slides, and computer images can add interest to teaching and learning.

OHP is short for overhead projector.It is a device which projects enlarged images from transparencies onto a screen or a white wall.Using an overhead projector enables the audience to see the charts, diagrams and photos clearly.In our daily life, we are often required to explain to others how to perform a certain task.My major difficulty is that I can’t find the right verbs to describe certain actions.I have to use nonverbal means such as gestures and pictures besides language to make myself understood.

Memory

Memory can be defined as the capacity to keep information available for later use or the proce by which people store and retrieve information.

There are 2 kinds of memory, Short-term memory and long-term memory.A short-term memory is temporary, as it is stored for a very short time in the brain.Long-term memory refers to the storing of information for a longer period of time.

Some people get photographic memory but others have a memory like a sieve .People may hold the opinion that a good memory is something you were born with.But I think it in a different way.Whether you can remember things well or not depends on the way you try to remember them and how often you recall them.Don\'t try to memorize all the facts, but focus your attention on what you consider more important.Memory is like a muscle , which is built up by frequent use.That is to say, the more it is used, the better it gets; The more it is neglected, the worse it gets.There are many things you can do to help you recall past events, such as keeping a diary, buying postcards, taking photos and making video films.

Wealth

Modern life is built around money.Money, whatever form it takes, is eential for buying goods and services.The rich are supposed to be able to satisfy their personal wishes without difficulty.For the rich, good education, travel, luxury and security are all readily available, while the poor attain these with great difficulty, if at all.

Money in itself is neutral.Money can buy certain comforts and offer some security, but it is not the answer for everything.Money is man\'s greatest source of joy as well as his greatest source of anxiety.Money is a terrible master but an excellent servant.Money and wealth trap people into various obligations.

Money does not guarantee happine.Money brings you food, but not appetite; medicine, but not health.Those who have some means think that the most important thing in life is love.The poor know that it is money.Riches are not an end of life, but an instrument of life.Happine is not attained by accumulating / amaing wealth.We will be disappointed if we count on wealth or physical comforts alone for happine.Because Happine does not depend on the amount of money you have.A happy man is one who is content, whether he is rich or poor.The greatest wealth is contentment with a little.

Aging

Aging is the natural proce of growing old or a decline in all areas of a person’s mental and physical abilities.People over 65 years old are generally considered senior citizens.Some old people are rather conservative and they are slow to accept new things.They think they are always right and yearn to be recognized, admired and praised by the young.Many elderly people have difficulty remembering recent events but may retain vivid memories of what happened to them a long time ago .

The old have a long past and a short future before them while the young have a short past and a long future before them.However ,old people are an aet of society as they are more experienced and responsible.We should treat old people with respect and kindne.It makes sense for us to keep them up-to-date and take good care of them, especially when they are sick.

Aging comes to everyone after they reach a certain age.However, an elderly person may remain young at heart.The elderly should enjoy their remaining years in happine.
