⒈主题

1、邮件主题怎么写

有些孩子的邮件主题写的很滑稽,比如:“应聘”,“Intern apply”云云。“应聘”???应聘什么呢???“Intern apply”???语法都错了。由于hr一天要看无数封简历,所以,邮件主题最好要注明自己的姓名、学校、专业、申请的职位、一周能上班的天数等等,反正就是怎么让hr看上去一清二楚就怎么写。Hr在筛选简历的时候,首先会设置一些基本的筛选条件,例如专业、年级、一周可工作次数,如果没有写明这些条件,hr还要点开邮件看你有简历的内容,求职简历少还行,一多看得脑子都炸开了,谁还愿意click一下。耐心好的还可以(我就属于耐心比较好的),耐心不好的直接delete(有的时候来不及了我也做这种事情),直接delete的话,你能力在好、过去的实习经历再出色也无济于事。多可惜啊……

2、申请职位一定写清楚

申请什么职位一定要写清楚的,这很重要。公司会同时招好几个职位,即使不是同时招,也理当把你要应聘的职位给写清楚。我曾经遇到好几位小朋友,他们在email里这样写道:“I want to apply for the position your company provide” 或者“I am very interested in the position form the advertisement

online”……OMG,Which position you want to apply 呢?ORZ。我这个人比较仁慈,遇到这种情况我会打开附件,看看这个孩子学的什么专业,以前的实习经历怎样的,然后我再判断,“哦!!原来他要申请这个职位阿”或者“恶。。。大概他要申请这个职位吧”。遇到心情不好的时候,这种简历我也都是直接Delete的。连申请的职位都不写清楚,Hr没有理由来猜你的心思。所以,同志们一定要切记自己的求职信里面一定要把申请的职位写清楚啊~~~阿弥陀佛……

3、简历要不要加进附件

我的感受是:要加的,同时,在邮件正文把简历的内容也粘贴上去,这样也是方便hr看你的求职简历。有的孩子正文一句话都么,直接一个附件发过来,这样的简历我直接delete……有的孩子倒是写了很不错的cover letter,就是简历放在附件里,还要双击一下打开,碰到电脑慢的时候急煞人,弄不好还要重启,降低工作效率,让人心生怒火……所以,最好还是在正文里面把你的简历贴上去。这时候可能有同学要问了,简历放到正文,本来word里设置得很漂亮的格式就全乱掉了。其实我以前也不知道怎么解决这个问题,也是在正文里面改了又改,效果也不怎么理想。看了那么多求职email我倒是发现有的同志实在挺聪明:把整个简历保存成一张图片再粘上去,这样就能保持原本word里的格式(大家可以用SnagIT把图片切下来,因为有的时候屏幕里显示不了word里一页纸,用

snagIT可以全页截图);另外也有人技术比较高明一点,像frontpage里用表格编辑网页一样,在邮件正文里也用表格,这样格式也不容易乱,不过这个弄起来可能有点麻烦……

4、正文里头写些什么?

其实有的时候hr会比较关注这封cover letter的。有些孩子正文简单一句话“您好,本人是**大学硕士研究生,附件是我的简历,请查阅,谢谢。期待您的答复。”这样的cover letter没什么特色,不容易出彩。

这里我拿一封一个同学写的cover letter给大家做一下参考,名字学校我都隐去了,希望不要侵犯了这位同学的个人隐私。

RANG:习惯是每天定时筛选,因为投递的资料太多,最后一次性看,自己会产生疲劳感,这样做还有可能会失去一些一开始就投递应聘的优秀人才的流失。尽管我们是外企,但优秀人才的获得还是需要眼疾手快的。所以一般是每天查看筛选,合适的就通知面试,直到选到中意的为止。

RANG:有3点: 一般我收到的邮件都是系统设置好的统一标题,但有些求职者会用自己的邮箱发送邮件,标题可以自己设定,个性化些,比较容易脱颖而出。也会让我感到,对方是专门给我发送的求职简历,不是随意乱投的。一般对这类的我会打开看一下。 一般的求职者多选择系统给的简历格式完成,很难看出出彩的地方,对于个人自己制作的简历,我会比较关注,至少是用心做的。这也比较容易看出一个人的做事风格。可以讲现在有多少求职者能做出精美简历来,word版和表格式的给我的印象不是很深。网页版简历非常好,但会做的人很少,做得好的就更加少。 这是画龙点睛的地方,很多人不知道什么原因不喜欢把照片附上。这是错误的。当然风险和机会并存。但事实上在硬件相近的时候,我更加会被有照片的吸引。毕竟总比没有照片的风险小一些。虽然不以貌取人,但对于我们专业人士来说,有时候照片会给到的信息也很多。

RANG:很简单就一点,与职位的匹配度。没有一个是最完美的匹配,但我们会选择最适合的人去到相应的职位,胜任是关键。这就需要从其教育背景初步判断他的专业知

识,但更重要的会看工作经历,这是给到我们最为关键的信息,我们会就此初步判断出有可能胜任的人选。

调查者:如何在简历中显示匹配度呢?

RANG:这个比较难,没有固定的方法。我这里有几个好的案例给到大家。比如程序员,一般需要其做事专注,不受外界干扰的个性特质。曾经有一份简历后面附上了专业的人才素质测评报告。因此成为最佳面试人选,安排来参加专业技能测试就可以了。另外我们会看他职业的连续性问题,比如前面做的客服,后来做销售,两个是关联的,也是职业特质相容的,这就基本可以判断求职者的大致匹配的范围。要是来应聘销售类的,就没有太大的。还有,相同的职位我们会看其原来工作的内容和成绩,这是衡量其在这个职位上最直观的东西。即使编出来的简历,经过面试还是露馅的。最短的一次我三分钟就结束了,因为应聘者根本没有做过简历上说的事情。

You may well need to include more details, but if you put the important point up front, your email is more likely to get a timely response.If your question comes too far down, the recipient may not even realise that you need a reply。

3.Keep it Short

内容言简意赅

Try to keep your email as short as poible.Make the paragraphs short, too – long paragraphs can be difficult to read and take in。

Do make sure you give enough information for your correspondent to be able to make a decision, if that’s required.You might find that it’s best to offer this as an attachment – you’ll have more flexibility over formatting, and your correspondent can print out the attachment easily。

4.Use Numbered Points

5.Re-read and Use Spell-Check

A typo or spelling mistake can turn one word into an entirely different one.If you’re using email in a profeional capacity, that mistake could be embarraing – or even offensive.It might alter the whole meaning of your email: a miing “not”, for instance, could potentially cause problems。

商务英语之回复客户询盘的最常用英语

(1)我们的条件是10日内付款为2%的折扣,30日内付款无折扣。our terms are 2% ten days, thirty days net.

3、结构对称,令人容易理解。

例子: The owner questioned the occupant’s lease intentions and the fact that the contract had been altered with ink markings.

应改为:The owner questioned the occupant’s lease intentions and ink alterations of the contract.4、单复数不要搞乱,不然会好刺眼,看不舒服。

例如:An authorized person must show that they have security clearance.5、动词主词要呼应。想想这两个分别:

1)This is one of the public-relations functions that is underbudgeted.

2)This is one of the public-relations functions, which are underbudgeted.6、时态和语气不要转变太多。看商务英语已经是苦事,不要浪费人家的精力啊。

7、标点要准确

例如:He did not make repairs, however, he continued to monitor the equipment.改为:He did not make repairs; however, he continued to monitor the equipment.

8、选词正确

好像affect和effect,operative和operational等等就要弄清楚才好用啦。

9、拼字正确

有电脑拼字检查功能后,就更加不能偷懒。

10、大小写要注意

非必要不要整个字都是大写,除非要骂人。

例如:MUST change to OS immediately.外国人就觉得不礼貌和喝令人一样。要强

调的话,用底线,斜字,粗体就可以了。

二、写信提示

1、人家的名字千万不要错。

老一辈的看到名字错就干脆撵去垃圾桶, 同样,头衔都不要错。头衔或学位,任择其一吧。以下是一样的: Howard E.Wyatt, D.D.SPhD.Dr.Howard E.Hyatt

2、多过一个男人,用Mers,就是Misters的意思,不过不要跟名字,跟姓就行啦。

例如:Mers.Smith, Wyatt, and Fury 。女人呢?用Mesdames, Mmes., or Mses.同样不要跟名字.例子:Mses.Farb, Lionel, and Gray 。男女一齐呢?弄清楚称呼就行。例如: Dr.and Mrs.Harold Wright ;Mr.Harold Wright and Dr.Margaret Wright ;Mr.and Mrs.Harvey Adams-Quinn 。

3、有人有自己头衔就要跟紧。

例如有人有荣誉学位就不喜欢用一般的头衔,有时不知道对方头衔,干脆用Ms.算了.Ms.Sarah Gray

4、地址要低日期至少两行。处名时,职衔短可以一行过,长就下一行吧。

例如:Ken Green, President /Ken Green /Vice President of International Operations 但这个就显得有点......

Ken Green /Vice President of Unicom China

正确应为:Ken Green /Vice President, Unicom China

5、老外的名字有时有Jr.或 Sr.,之前的逗点是随你喜欢的,以下都是正确,不要笑人:

Michael J.Smith, Jr./Michael J.Smith Sr.6、外国国名尽量用大写。是为尊重,也方便邮差叔叔。

7、地址上的数字直接用阿拉伯数字吧,除了One。

从上面的例子中,我们不难看出,一般办公室邮件大体分为四个部分:称谓、正文、补充语和落款。注意,英文邮件一般是顶格写的(英文文章段落之前也需空格),不像中文需要在段落的第一句话前空两格。另外,正文可以分为多段来说明、阐述不同的事情(不同事件之间最好空一行)。补充语用的比较灵活,可用可不用。

现在,我们来逐条解释一下:

1.称呼

称呼的写法比较固定,目前办公室邮件中有两种称谓的写法比较常用。 ① 不知道对方的姓名和性别

Dear Sir/Madam,

这是比较通用的写法,在求职信中尤其常用。

② 知道对方的姓氏或者名字

这里大体可以分为两种情况:

第一种,如

Hi Mr.Stewart,

Hi Ms.White,

Hi Mrs.Wang,

上面的例子一般用在只知道对方的姓氏而不知道名字的情况下(一定要弄清楚对方的性别,不然可就要出洋相了),以及知道对方的姓名,但是对方级别较高或者是初次打交道,用Mr./Mrs./Mi./Ms.+姓氏表示尊敬。

这里补充两个知识点:

a.Mrs., Mi.和Ms.

这三个称谓均可用于女士,一般而言,对已婚的女士用Mrs.,对未婚的女士用Mi.,在不确定对方是否结婚的情况下,可直接用Ms.。现在西方人士对Ms.这个称呼比较青睐,结婚的女士听到对方称呼Ms.也会比较高兴,这就是当前Ms.用的比Mi.多的原因。

另外一方面,原则上如果要用Mrs.,后面应该加对方丈夫的姓氏,直接加女士自己的姓氏,语法上有错误的嫌疑,但是如果问及对方的家庭情况,又涉及隐私,犯了忌讳,所以,这是Ms.目前用的比较多的另一个原因。 b.Hi/Hello/Dear

在现代办公室邮件中,在姓氏或名字前最常用的是Hi。Hello一般用的较少,而且也容易写错。我的一个同事曾经发生过一件窘事,由于当时写邮件的时候比较着急,写Hello的时候后面少写了一个o,变成了Hell(地狱,见鬼),成了一句骂人的话,老外骂人的时候常说:Go to hell!(见鬼去吧!) 后来,虽然对方原谅了我这位同事的疏忽,没有正面指出来,但是让他实实在在地内疚了一段时间,发誓以后再也不用Hello了。另外,用hello显得人比较古板,不灵活,所以我个人建议尽量不用hello。

Dear用的频率基于Hi和hello之间,显得双方比较亲密,在求职信中,如果知道对方姓名,我个人建议不要用,有套近乎的嫌疑,而且用了也显得比较本本。注意,这里要区分Dear在不知道对方姓名和知道对方姓名两种情况的不同用法。另外,需要特别强调的是,如果此邮件发给两人以上,一般用“Dear all,”,这是Dear用法中的一个特例。

直接称呼对方的名字。

这是邮件中目前比较通用的写法,也是最常用的写法,西方一般在办公室里直接称呼对方名字表示亲切。在求职信中,如果知道对方名字且又是第二次或者多次写信时,推荐使用“Hi+对方名字“这种写法,比较地道、老练。

2.正文

正文在办公室邮件中比较灵活,只要说清楚事情就行了。这里重点来说说求职信正文的写法,大家看上面这个例子中的第一句话:

这是个基本写法,前半句说明你获得的这条招聘信息的来源,如果从网上获知,就用

如果通过朋友介绍,可以这么写:

后半句说明你对这个职位非常感兴趣,其中“职位”在英语里一般用“career opportunity”或“job opportunity”来表示。接下来,说明你自己的情况,学校、学位、专业以及兴趣爱好等等,比较灵活。但有一个原则,务必言简意赅,一般公司人事部或者专业部门负责招聘的人不会花很多的时间去看你的信,换句话说,信写的太长,他们也不会仔细去看,如果对你有兴趣,他们会直接找你的简历,所以这句话不能落下:

Would you pls kindly check the detail info from my resume attached? Thanks.

3.补充语

如上文所述,补充语可写可不写,但是写惯了英文邮件的人,都会把这句套话加上,表示对对方的尊敬以及自己对这件事情的重视。常用的写法有: If you need any additional info, pls feel free to tell me.

If you have any question, pls do not hesitate to tell me.

Any question, pls tell me.

4.落款

落款的写法比较固定,一般在对方知道你的通讯方式的情况下,比如你在简历中已经说明过,或者你在以前的邮件中已经告诉过对方,在落款的部分只要写上你的名字就可以了。当然,名字前面要加上“Best Regards”、“Kindly

Regards,”表示对对方的尊敬,犹如中文信件中的“此致 敬礼”。如果其他地方没有你的联系信息,你可以加上你的通讯信息,如:

怎样挑选实习生

1,邮件应有明确标题和清晰的正文;2,正文或简历中应该表明自己的应聘意向;3,所附简历或作品集最好打包或制作成PDF文件,且文件尽量不要超过20MB,放置自己满意的作品就好了;4,简历或作品应体现自身强项或实际水平;5,写清楚联系方式...

你获得面试了,恭喜!如何留下好印象对成功与否至关重要。就算英文还可以,由于紧张也可能发挥不好。更何况,有些情况不是英文本身的错误,而是是否选择了适当的词在适当的时候说出来。

面试的英文需要运用一系列比较专业的词汇,并且善用几种时态,如说明过去的工作要用过去时,以前取得的成绩要用过去完成时等等。这里我们就讲讲什么时候该说什么。

当你走进雇主的办公室,先介绍自己,握手,微笑很重要。此后第一句话往往是打开局面的,通常面试人员会问:

How are you today?

Did you have any trouble finding us?

What do you think of the weather lately?

他们的语调可能会很友好,因为他们也希望你放松,尽量发挥你自己的水平。这时候你要有简单爽快而有礼貌的回应,如:

评语: 提到过往工作经验时,注意越详细越好。新移民最容易犯的错误之一是讲过去经历时太过笼统。雇主是想知道你到底做什么以及你做得怎么样,你讲得越详细,他们就越能知道你是否在行。你可以换着用一些不同的词汇来形容,而且尽量不要每句话都用“I”开头。记得用过去时态。

问: What is your greatest strength?

答: I work well under preure.When there is a deadline (a time by which the work must be finished), I can focus on the task at hand (current project) and structure my work schedule well.I remember one week when I had to get 6 new customer reports out by Friday at 5.I finished all the reports ahead of time without having to work overtime.

评语: 不用谦虚,充满自信地把自己最好的方面都抖出来。记得要给一些具体的例子,举例时变化用词。

答: I am overzealous (work too hard) and become nervous when my co-workers are not pulling their weight (doing their job).However, I am aware of this problem, and before I say anything to anyone, I ask myself why the colleague is having difficulties.

评语: 这其实是一个很巧妙的问题,你要讲得出一个其实是优点的缺点。比如工作太认真啦,对自己对人要求很高啦,工作很追求完美啦,等等。在讲到缺点后要记得说你一直在致力于改善。

以上只是一些最基本的面试问答。对于英语非母语的人来说,最重要和最难的是用英语讲述大量细节,尤其是复杂的细节。然而,雇主是很有必要知道你能否把工作范畴内的细节表达清楚,这对你是否胜任至关重要。不要太过担心语法问题。只要用词够多,内容够细,只要不影响理解,语法往往不是那么重要。

面试时招聘人员总会问你:Do you have any questions?以前我们讲过,面试十七大忌中其中一忌就是用nothing来回答这个问题。问什么问题,对你的印象分有帮助,显示你是一个用心的人。一般来说,围绕着这些话题来问比较得体:

the competitive environment in which the organization operates 公司营运所处的竞争环境

executive management styles 管理高层的风格

what obstacles the organization anticipates in meeting its goals 公司在达到其目标过程中预计会遇到什么障碍

how the organizations goals have changed over the past three to five years 公司的经营方向在过去三到五年内有什么变化

第一次面试,或者在双方未有确定的意向以前,除非是已经到了签OFFER的阶段,最好不要问待遇如何。那样显得你更关心公司能为你做什么,而不是你为公司能做什么。

具体来说,你可以问以下问题:

1.What are the main objectives and responsibilities of the position?

2.How does the company expect these objectives to be met?

3.What obstacles are commonly encountered in reaching these objectives?

4.What is the desired time frame for reaching the objectives?

5.What resources are available from the company and what must be found elsewhere to reach the objectives?

上次我们讲了在面试时可以问招聘人员的问题,主要是围绕着对该公司,该行业的认识和发展来提问。这次我们来看看哪些问题是可以探测面试官对这次面试的印象以及有没有下一步安排。

1.Have you had a chance to review my resume?

别以为这是个多余的问题,事实上,不少的面试人员事前并没有看过应聘者的简历,就匆匆忙忙开始了面谈。他们一边面试一边看你的简历。这个问题是个开场白,如果他们没有看过你的简历,通常也不会承认,可能会说: I havent had the chance to review it in details as I would like to.(其实就是一次也没看过。)不要为此懊丧,没看过的话,正好可以说,well, maybe it is helpful for me to talk about the highlights of my qualifications.就好象一个销售人员在推销产品之前,总是问“你对这个产品有什么认识/了解吗?”然后再开始自己的陈述。即使他们说已经看过你的简历,你一样可以说:So let me talk about the highlights of my qualifitions.

2.Is there anything else I can tell you about my qualifications?

有可能的话,尽量用qualifications代替experience。前者代表了取得的成绩,更加突出了你是有才之士,相比之下后者比较中性,被动。问这个问题,有益无害,只要面试官说Yes,你就有更多的机会把最好的料子亮出来。越能让对方说Yes,你在他们眼中就越有价值,留下的印象越深。这是在首次和第二次面试中值得问的问题(假设面试总共有三次的话)。

3.Ive read the job description, of course, but how would you describe the nature and duties of this job?

乍看这个问题显得明知故问,其实不然。你对这份工作有你的理解,而招聘人员也许有他自己的看法,和登出来的招聘要求并不完全一样。通过他们对这份工作的描述,至少你可以听出来什么是最重要的,什么是招聘广告里面没提到的。那么借此发挥:I am glad to hear that maintaining customer relationship is a great part of this position.I am very customer-focused and always keep their needs in mind.假设你在第二次面试中和另一个面试人员谈,那么可以再次问这个问题:Ive spoken to Mr.Smith about the responsibilities involved in this job.Whats your take on the most important aspects of this position?
