Ways of Learning At the beginning of my speech, I want to give you a sentence: This moment will nap, you will have a dream.But this moment study, you will interpret a dream.It is worth mentioning that this sentence is the first motto of Harvard University.But how to study and what is the best way of learning? That is a question.Well, it’s common that someone holds the opinion that there are shortcuts in study.Taking a look around, you can find too many examples to support this opinion.Many students don’t study at the least unle the final examination approaches.You may find it very amazing for someone who gives up his favorite computer games or e-books study hard.How ridiculous it is , you can imagine! Furthermore, countle advertisements can be seen here and there such as the correct answers of CET 4 or CET 6 which attract plenty of students to buy.In addition, there is another efficient way of learning.If your eyesight is sharp, and if you have friends whose grades are better than yours, then you can take advantage of them to get what you want.I believe all of you can understand what I really mean.There is no doubt that these students can succeed or even be regarded as brilliant students in a short time.However, in my opinion, they are of failure thoroughly.Why? Just for the simple reason that they cannot adopt right ways.From my point of view, there is no shortcut of learning.For one thing, what we should do only is learning every day instead of some specific days.For another, nobody can casually succeed, it comes from the thorough self-control and the will.Therefore, it’s natural that everyone of us needs to cultivate our own self-control and will.Last but not least, we should correct our attitude of study. I know the right ways of learning vary from person to person.And the best way is what suits you most.But all this is on the premise of correct attitude.Only if you have a right attitude can you find the real right ways of learning.Again, I want a sentence to end my speech: The time is paing.Now drips the saliva, will become tomorrow the tear.
Values To be honest, I have no ability to define the word value, because values vary from person to person.So what I can do is merely taking some examples.For most children in Africa, they are still faced with hunger and war and they can’t control their own fate.Maybe, as you can imagine, today or tomorrow, they will starve to death or die from hunger.If there is any value, I think, that is the significance of existence.For millionaires, they have too much money, but values also exist.Just like Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, donated almost all his money to charity and leave only a tiny fraction if his fortune to his children.It is the selfle spirit and sympathy that show his value of life.For parents, the safety of their children and the bright future of their children are all their values.For teachers, their most important values are that all of their students can become the succeful.As far as I am concerned, as college students, our values should be relative to our dreams.In other words, great dreams are needed for everyone of us.However, taking a look around, you can easily find those who are sleeping during the period of cla or playing computer games all day or playing cards whenever they want.I really don’t what their values are and what their dreams are.Maybe, I gue, are dreaming of becoming another Bill Gates by playing Dota or DNF or CF.I believe you know what I really mean.However, I don’t want to attack anyone.I just want to highlight that we should concentrate on our schoolwork, which is the real value of us.Only in this way can we have a bright future and not let my parents and teachers down.
Generation Gap When it comes to the phenomenon of generation gap, which is nothing new in this modern society.For this phenomenon, a lot of factors can contribute to it.For one thing, because of the totally different living background, the values between children and parents or other elders are extremely diverse.Taking a look around, you can find too many examples to support this phenomenon.Here is an example: young people like us prefer the Western festivals like April Fool’s Day and Valentine’s Day while our parents prefer the Chinese traditional festival like Qingming and Duanwu.For another, with the development of the society, the new generation children take it for granted that they should have happy lives.However, parents who went through very tough lives can’t bare children’s attitudes toward it.We should admit that children nowadays are more selfish because they just care about themselves without considering their parents let alone others.Take ourselves for example, some people define us as a degenerate generation, which I don’t think is not reasonable.So it is high time that we took efficient measures to prevent generation gap from becoming wider and wider instead of just ignore it.First of all, more communication is needed between children and parents.Only in this way can children open their hearts to let parents know what they are really thinking and what they really want.Secondly, parents shouldn’t be over strict with children because once fed up with parents’ lectures, the children are likely to do whatever they are forbidden to even they know what they are doing is not right.Last but not least, it is vital to build a harmonious parent-child relationship through any kind of method as poible as we can.I believe that through the joint effort, there is no doubt that the generation gap can be narrowed.
The Virtual World With the development of the Internet, the virtual world has formed.The virtual world, as we all know, is full of information, pictures, videos and so on.We can even say that we can get what we what in the virtual world.However, every coin has two sides.The virtual world, In other worlds, the Internet is no exception.There is no doubt that the Internet makes our lives more convenient and colorful, which is the reason why the Internet was invented.For one thing, through the Internet, you can let yourself keep up with the latest news and the weather.Especially, countle information and plenty of materials on the Internet can enrich our knowledge and broaden our horizon.For another, chances are that there are many opportunities on the Internet which once you grasp them, you can become famous and rich.Taking a look around, you may find too many examples to support this opinion.Bill Gates, the most typical example , took good advantage of the Internet to earn lots of money.Maybe you think, Bill Gates is too remote to us, but nobody can conclude that one or more of us can become another Bill Gates in the future.However, the disadvantages of Internet have already been serious for years.The net addiction between students has aroused people’s great attention.Not only teenagers but also children have this symptom.So you can see that net bars are always filled with students who are playing computer games, watching videos or chatting with aliens.In my opinion, nothing could be worse than net addiction.In order to play computer games, some teenagers even don’t go to school.In order to get money, they learned to steal or even rob.We can imagine what is waiting for them in the future.It is high time that we took measures to solve this phenomenon.One the one hand, governments should forbid teenagers below 18 years old to enter net bar and build a clean and harmonious environment.On the other hand, it’s vital for parents and teachers to make children realize the dangers of net addiction besides impose punishment when children surf the Internet for too long.Last but not least, children and teenagers are also ought to control themselves and spend more time in studying.
