Part one: Teaching Aims:
I.Knowledge Aims: a) Students are required to learn the concept of Attribute and Object Complement.b) Students acquire the usage of –ing form.
II.Ability Aims: a) Students can translate the relative sentences and phrases between English and Chinese.b) Students can use the –ing form in their writing.
Part Two: Important/ Difficult Points:
In this leon, the important point is how to properly use the –ing form in phrases and sentences. The difficult point refers to how to let students identify the –ing form as attribute and object complement.
As we all know, if we want to teach students well, we should adopt the right teaching methods, so according to the teaching material and students’ learning background, I will use the following methods.
Part three: Teaching and Studying Methods:
I.The teaching methods:
As is known to all, grammar is an important part in English, but it is also difficult for students to understand, remember and use correctly.In order to let students to acquire grammars more naturally, I will apply the discuion method first and then the induction method.
II.The studying method:
Learning grammar, the most common method is to let students analyze examples first and then do some exercise to consolidate.In this unit, students are required to learn two grammar rules, so comparison and summary also play important role.
Part four: Teaching Procedures:
To make full use of the teaching methods and fulfill the teaching aims, I will arrange my teaching procedure as follow: Step one: Greeting and Lead-in(5 min)
Firstly, I will help students to recall the common usage of –ing form that they have learned in the past.Next, I will teach them how to add –ing to verbs, especially the verbs which have to double letters.For example, jog-jogging; run-running and so on.Step two: Analyze related examples and discu their meaning and function (10 min)
I would like to list some example phrases on the blackboard and let students to analyze the meaning and functions of the –ing words, such as:
An interesting film
Swimming pool
Reading room Step three: Induce the definition of attribute and its usage with students ( 3 min)
A language unit, either a word, phrase or clause, that modifies a noun. Step four: Do relative exercise to consolidate this grammar——translation or making sentence(5 min) Step five: Analyze related examples and discu the meaning and function (10 min)

Step seven: Do same related exercises to consolidate the second grammar point.(5 min) Step eight: Summary of the two grammar points learned today.Draw students’
attention to the difference through comparison.(4 min) Step nine: Homework-finish the post-text exercise.(1 min)
