主要工作经历：1990年3月获湖南大学数学学院理学硕士学位并留校参加工作。1994年至1997年脱产在湖南大学数学学院攻读博士学位，并于1997年6月获理学博士学位。1998年破格晋升为教授。1999年7月至2000年6月在美国科罗拉多大学数学系作访问教授。2000年12月起担任湖南大学应用数学专业博士生导师。现为中国系统工程学会模糊数学与模糊系统委员会常务理事，数学核心刊物《模糊系统与数学》杂志编委。2005年9月至现在担任湖南大学科技处处长。
曾获2008年湖南省科技进步一等奖，1998年国家机械工业部科学技术进步二等奖和2007年教育部高等学校科技进步二等奖。已完成国家自然科学基金课题《广义连续格及其拓扑应用研究》及教育部博士点基金课题，湖南省自然科学基金重点课题四项。现正承担国家自然科学基金课题《模糊概念格理论及在信息科学中的应用》及两项部省科研课题。
