How to Write a Formal Busine Letter
The busine-letter format is very important for communicating formally with a company.You shouldn\'t write in the same voice as when you write family or friends, a busine letter needs to be more formal.These steps describe the full block format (n.分段式格式), in which all lines start at the left.Instructions
1.Type the letter using a word proceor.Formal letters should not be written by hand.
2.Use your own letterhead (n.印有抬头的信笺).Avoid store-bought note cards.
3.If you don\'t have preprinted letterhead, type your name, title (n.职位) and return addre four to six lines down from the top of the page.
4.Type the date two to six lines down from the letterhead or return addre.Three lines below is the standard.
5.Choose your alignment (n.对齐方式): left aligned or justified on both sides.
6.Skip two lines and type the recipient\'s (n.接收者) full name, busine title and addre, aligned at the left margin.Precede(v.处于…开头) the name with Mr., Ms.or Dr.as appropriate.
7.Skip two to four lines and follow with your greeting, again using the formal name and closing with a colon (n.冒号) \"Dear Mr.Jones:\" for example.
8.Skip two more lines and begin your letter.Introduce yourself in the first paragraph, if the recipient does not already know you.Examples: \'We recently met at a seminar\' or \'I recently purchased an insurance plan from your company.\'
9.Skip two lines and conclude the letter with \'Sincerely,\' \'Thank you\' or \'Best wishes,\' followed by a comma (n.逗号).
10.Leave at least four blank lines for your signature, then type your name and title.Sign the letter in ink in the space created.

9、空两行，写上落款，比如―Sincerely‖，―Thank You‖，结尾加逗号。
10、至少留4行供签名，打上你名字和头衔。在空出的地方用钢笔亲自签名。
其他建议：
1．有的人喜欢将日期和落款居中而不是左对齐，这是不对的。
2．确认你的标点、语法、拼写是绝对正确的。在你发信之前用电脑差错程序检查，或者让其他人检查阅读。

We all want our kids to be succeful.We get them math tutors, drive them to summer drama camps, buy them fancy tennis rackets (乒乓球扳), and encourage them to study with the best violin teachers– all so that they have no barriers to succe.However, kids are sprinkled (v.喷,洒, 点缀) with achievements so much, so early, and so easily, and they believe that succeeding in the real world will be the same.Praise effort and mastery.Kids can be praised for innate (adj.内在的) abilities (―Great job getting that grade.You are so smart.‖), or kids can be praised for putting in the effort to master a skill or task (―Great job getting that grade.You really applied yourself and figured out the material.‖).
Research shows that praising innate ability can actually decrease your child’s motivation and perseverance (n.坚持不懈).If a kid believes her succe is due to her intelligence or natural gifts then she will feel that any result is beyond her control-either she is a good enough soccer player to make the team or she isn’t.Further, this mindset means every challenge could expose (v.暴露) an innate deficiency (n.缺乏,不足)-no one wants to take a test where the result will determine whether or not they are talented or smart.These kids are more likely to avoid challenges and quit quickly.On the other hand, if a kid thinks succe is due to hard work, then she will feel that she controls the outcome of any challenge, and will see failure as a mandate (n.命令) to work harder.These kids have much greater long-term succe.Of course, you can still tell your kids they are smart or talented, but try to focus on how they
applied themselves and mastered certain skills rather than just declaring them gifted little geniuses (n.天赋).
