Why is It Difficult for Chinese Students to
Learn English Well?
Nowadays there is a growing number of people learning English all around the world .In China , students have to keep learning English from primary school to university .however , even you have got a master or doctor degree , it’s may also a problem using English to communicate or work .So , it is obvious that learning English well is difficult for Chinese students.
Just by teaching, and few opportunities to speak, most students often complain there is no English-learning environment.Through reading English books online , listening to the radio, watching English television programs , we may be very easy to read ,write and listen, but those are not sufficient to create an English-speaking environment.We can also say that ,in real life, there is no need to use English leading to the lack of motivation to learn .Many students learn English just to pa the exam or further their education .
In another respect , cultural differences in Western and China has also led to
difficulties in learning English .English learners will often feel confused on the syntax by some new words integrated from other countries .What’s more , English habits and fixed usages can also lead to difficulties in learning and using it.
To solve the problem , we need schools and students to work together .On the one hand, schools need to change the mode of education and recruit some English teachers with responsibility to stimulate students’ interest in learning.On the other hand, students should fully understand the importance of learning English , consciously being into English learning.
