在这个时刻，这个关乎我大不列颠是生是死的重大时刻，我向所有大不列颠的臣民——不论是生活在这个大地上的人们，还是在海外为生活而奋斗的同胞们——传递这篇檄文。我就像在和你们面对面交谈一样明白你们此刻的心情。

为了捍卫我们的生存权、自由权和追求幸福的权利，我在此呼吁所有大不列颠的军民起身战斗，守卫我们所珍视的一切。我还恳请大家保持冷静，坚定不移，在危难关头万众一心。如此重任必将困难重重，前路肯定危机四伏，战斗也不再只是军人们的工作了。但是只有心怀真知，并对我主承诺我们将达到目标，我们才能正确行事。只要所有军民明白并坚守这个信念，那么，蒙我主庇佑，我们终将胜利。

In this grave hour, perhaps the most fateful in our history, I send to every household of my peoples—— both at home and overseas——this meage, spoken with the same depth of feeling for each one of you as if I were able to cro your threshold and speak to you myself.
For the second time in the lives of most of us, we are at war.Over and over again, we have tried to find a peaceful way out of the differences between ourselves and those who are now our enemies.But it has been in vain.We have been forced into a conflict, for which we are called to meet the challenge of a principle which, if it were to prevail, would be fatal to any civilized order in the world.Such a principle, stripped of all disguise, is surely the mere primitive doctrine that might is right.For the sake of all that we ourselves hold dear, it is unthinkable that we should refuse to meet the challenge.
It is to this high purpose that I now call my people at home and my peoples acro the seas who will make our cause their own.I ask them to stand calm and firm and united in this time of trial.
The task will be hard.There may be dark days ahead, and war can no longer be confined to the battlefield, but we can only do the right as we see the right, and reverently commit our cause to God.If one and all we keep resolutely faithful to it, then, with God\'s help, we shall prevail.
