硕鼠硕鼠，Great rats，great rats，
无食我黍！Keep away from our wheat！
三岁贯女，Three years we have worked for you，
莫我肯顾。But you have spurned us.
逝将去女，Now we shall leave this land,
适彼乐土。For a happier one－
乐土乐土，That happy land, that happy land，

《关雎》提示及作业练习
《关雎》第一段“关关雎鸠，在河之洲。窈窕淑女，君子好逑。”短短十六字读来美不胜收，让人称叹。这首先得益于《诗经》著名的“赋、比、兴”手法，即运用了隐而不显之暗比，用雌雄雎鸠来比淑女与君子，前两句看似写景起兴，实则与下句作比。该段中的双字“关关”、双声词“雎鸠”和叠韵词“窈窕”，采用了具有浓郁民族特色的双字与双声叠韵的表现手法。国内外有很多汉学家和翻译家对《关雎》进行了英译，如一百年前的苏格兰传教士和汉学家李雅各（James Legge），七十年前的英国汉学家威利（Arthur Waley），1925年生于美国至今极为活跃的亚洲语文翻译名家华兹生（Burton Watson）。中国著名翻译家有杨宪益、戴乃迭（Gladys Tayler）夫妇，还有汪榕培、许渊冲等人都翻译过《关雎》。
