1、吸烟之危害，可谓大矣，其严重性是不能低估的。吸烟污染空气，损害健康，使肺癌发病率大大增加。为了使各国人民关注烟草的盛行及预防吸烟导致的疾病和死亡，世界卫生组织已将每年的5月31日定为“世界无烟日”。瘾君子们说，一天不吃饭可以，一个时辰不抽烟就难捱了，不能戒。只要真正意识到吸烟有百害而无一利，于人于己都是一种祸害，就有可能下决心摆脱烟草的诱惑。戒烟贵在坚持，坚持下去就是收获。
Smoking does great harm to human and its gravity should not be underestimated.Smoking pollutes air, damages health, and increases the incidence of lung cancer.To arouse the awarene about the prevalence of tobacco in all the countries and to prevent smoking-induced diseases and deaths, the WHO (World Health Organization) has defined May 31st in every year as World No-Tobacco Day.The tobacco addicts say that smoking is impoible to quit because they could do without meals in a day but would feel tortured without tobacco in two hours.However, when one realizes that smoking is harmful in many ways but beneficial in no way and that it is a curse to others as well as to he himself, he will be determined to resist the temptation of tobacco.To quit smoking requires persistence and so long as one persists, he’ll be rewarded.
2、假日经济的现象表明：中国消费者的消费观正在发生巨大变化。根据统计数据，中国消费者的消费需求正在从基本生活必需品转向对休闲、舒适和个人发展的需求。同时，中国人的消费观在蓬勃发展的假日经济中正变得成熟。因此产品结构应做相应调整，来适应社会的发展。另一方面，服务质量要改善，以满足人们提高生活质量的要求。
The phenomenon of holiday economy shows that Chinese people’s consumption concept is undertaking great changes.According to statistics, the demands of Chinese consumers are shifting from the basic neceities of life to leisure, comfort and personal development.Meanwhile, Chinese consumption concepts are getting mature along with the thriving holiday economy.Therefore, the structure of products should be adjusted accordingly to adapt to social development.On the other hand, services should be improved to satisfy people’s demand for an improved quality of life.

An increasing number of English-educated Chinese parents overseas have come to the realization that while English learning is indispensable to their children, it is eential that their kids have a good command of Chinese.China’s rise has fully awakened their awarene of the fact that their kids can benefit from their bilingual ability which can not only enhance their competitivene in the job market, but also facilitate their exposure to and familiarity with the two different cultures between the East and the West.They have hardly changed their attitudes towards Chinese.At one time they proudly declared that they knew English only.Now, they have begun to
give full support to their kids learning Chinese and its culture, and they also make occasional visits to China, where they can enjoy its magnificent natural landscape and get to know its rich cultural heritage.

5、和谐源自人的内心。健康的人格，良好的心态，既关乎个人的身心和谐，也关乎社会的和谐稳定。一个内心失调、失衡的人，一个心中充溢着焦躁、郁闷甚至仇恨的人，往往会同自己过不去，还会同周围环境过不去，人生是无法和谐得起来的。心平才能气和，内和才能外顺。我们要以平和之心思考问题，多一点理性、少一点感性，多一点睿智、少一点混沌，多一点冷静、少一点浮躁，多一点淡然、少一点痴迷，多一点大度、少一点偏执。
Harmony is derived from the inner heart of people.Wholesome personality and sound mentality are concerned not only with the harmony of individual’s mind and body, but also with the social harmony and stability.A mentally disturbed and imbalanced person infatuated with anxiety, oppreion or even hatred tends to make things difficult for himself and also finds it difficult to get along with his surroundings, it is impoible to have harmony in his life.Only a calm mind can ensure an even temper; and only the inner harmony can make one get along smoothly.Therefore, we should think with a calm mind, with more rationality and le sensitivity, more wit and le confusion, more calmne and le ficklene, more indifference and le obseion, more generosity and le prejudice.
