The purpose behind this personal statement is to not only gain admiion to your highly-respected and well-known college, but to impre upon you my paion for learning and my tremendous desire to be succeed in the field of chemical analysis.I have based my decision to pursue an academic career not only purely practical reason ,but rather on my own natural interests and aptitude.Without enthusiasm, lifebecome monotonous and boring.My enthusiasm for continuous, life-long learning-particularly in the field of chemical analysis makes me a model candidate for your college.Consequently, I strongly wish that I can be admitted into your esteemed university to undertake an advanced degree program in the field.
I know I am no genius and I also know that succe is to result from extraordinary efforts.I chose WUHAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY as my study point, one of the top universities in China that majored in chemistry research.There besides the specialty and theory studies, I made use of my free time to read large quantities of references both in Chinese and English, to catch up with the latest development in theory and to be immersed in the widest range of information.As a graduate, my academic performance had always be excellent in my cla, especially for the specialty courses in the junior and senior years.
Many applicants may claim to be from an underprivileged family, but I freely admit that I was born into a middle cla family.My father is an ordinary middle school teacher in chemistry and my mother is a general staff in Bureau of Agriculture in my town.Through the influences of both my father an my mother, I fell in love with reading and study in an early age.My paion for natural science comes from my father ’s taught and himself ’s madly love in chemistry.Though, I’m from a impoverished town, but I always keep mother’ s word in mind, that is, “Only one of my family comes to the great city, then it will lead the whole family to create a perfect study and living environment.I have cherished a deep and long yearning for a chance to study at your university.As early as the years when I was an undergraduate, I had a chance to read the book by some profeors of your university which influenced me to take up the study of organic chemistry as my area of analysis.Later, during my university of third year, I focused on the development of theGas chromatography-ma spectrometry and High Performance Liquid Chromatography.The comprehensive research and practice that I have performed in this area further reinforce my determination to seek advanced studies at your university when there should be an opportunity.This is because your esteemed university
enjoys a very high academic reputation for the research work you have carried out in the field of chromatography study.This ensures that if I can be admitted into your program I will be part of your well-respected program and I will be able to undertake in-depth study and develop a close understanding of the most updated theories and technical developments in this field.By working together and exchanging experiences with the world’s leading experts in this field, I will be exposed to wholly novel ideas of research and significantly broaden my academic vision.
Chemistry engineering industry is the main industry for a country.It started very late in China and lags far behind the advanced countries such as the United States, Germany, Canada and others, its competency comparatively low.To shorten the distance, it is neceary to go abroad and learn from the developed countries the advanced chemical analysis technology and for that reason it is also urgent to perfect my knowledge structure and enhance my specialty level.The specialty of chemical analysis engineering in University of Michigan ranked No.11 in the United States.It has rich technical resources and its research centers and laboratories are proud of state-of-the-art equipments.The research work of Vehicle Power train Dynamics and Control being carried out there by many famous profeors well fits into my postgraduate research work.So I wish to continue my education in your university.A scrutiny of my educational background will indicate that I have a solid foundation in chemical analysis.Therefore, my knowledge and specialized trainings in chemical analysis will also enable me to prove competent in analysis-related programs.If my qualifications suit me also for a program in chemistry, do not hesitate to transfer me to such program because I am equally interested in those programs.My study plan is to learn the fundamental knowledge first and then, based on my own research background, decide on a research direction that will best facilitate the development of China’s chemical engineering industry.In this way I will try to work out valuable academic achievements and write high-level doctorate thesis.

I have meet Mi Wang Wei for four years, being his teacher in “Spectral analysis” and her tutor in the experiment of “Infrared spectroscopy”.At the request of her, I am writing to you in support of her application to your graduate program.I am one of the profeors in Wuhan institute of Technology University, while at the same time I am the tutor of Mi Wang.
In the cla, her thinking was very active and she completely understood what I said in the lecture.She showed her strong interest in chemical science and often did further discuion with me after the cla.In particular, her experimental methods were so innovative and creative that the experiment done by her was often more intensive than required.I was much impreed by her because of her quick thinking, serious logic and independence.Besides, she was able to sort out various problems in the experiment, having the ability in debugging of both computer and advanced instrument.
In additional to masterful abilities, Mi Wang embodies admirable personal characteristics.Balancing both cooperative and independent qualities, she can be both an indispensable team player and an good friend, On the whole the quality of her work was well beyond expectations.I found his interaction with the students to be at times better than my own, he also gave several lectures to the other students and gave them helpful and instructive suggestions.
