Secretarial Training in English

Teaching material analyzing, teaching methods, teaching procedure, I give the procedure from these respects, those are Teaching material analyzing, teaching methods, teaching procedure, blackboard writing design.As following:

I.Teaching material analyzing:

1.Teaching material position and function:

“At the office” is from the book named” Secretarial Training in English” published by Chinese people university pre, edited by Feng Xiu-wen vice profeor(Secretarial Training in English).Learning and mastering the college is based on college English (that is 21st century practical college English ).This cla is taught and studied around “reception in the office” that is “something happened at the office” to fold.The cla is the not only the first leon of the teaching material, but also the base of studying secretarial English.

2.Teaching aims:

According the standard of the secretary major and the aim of secretarial English;Considering the recognizing structure and psychological character, I set the teaching aim as following:Knowledge aims:Understand and be familiar with the work of a secretary;

Ability aims: Discu iues concerning executive secretaries, and put the secretarial job into practice, and know something happened during the reception time.

Quality aims:Secretary job of At the Office Exhibitions & Conventions,At the Airport, experience the relation between English and secretary job, especially for the reception job, and stimulate the students’ studying activity, experiencing the interest of being a secretary.

3.Teaching important points and difficult points:

According to analyzing the teaching position and function, I plan to aign these important points and difficult points:

Important points:

1.What skills and abilities do secretaries need to have?

2.What skills and abilities do executive secretaries need to have?

Difficult points:

1.How do the secretaries serve the clients better?

II.Teaching p method:

I insist on the principle of teacher\' guiding role and student’s center, and design the teaching method and

contents through the student’s age character and the principle the development of body and psychology.I mainly adopt the method of leading, discovery method, discu method and so on,give full play to teacher’s direction function,arise the student’s subjective initiative,let the students understand the secretary drive by the objective task (that is how to become an active secretary) in order to realize the teaching aim.Meanwhile, the teaching method and studying method are closed related,and they can’t be divided.Not only the Secretarial Training in English course.

III.Teaching procedure

In order to break through the teaching important point and difficult point, and complete the teaching task smoothly, realize the teaching aims, I divided the teaching procedure into 4parts:

1.created the situation, and new cla lead-in(aign the teaching time for 5minutes)

2.dicu and explore, aign the reception job according the team(teaching and exchange the learning, explore new knowledge)

While-reading:

① Answer the following questions:

What do executive secretaries use computers and software to do in their work?

Some duties once given to executive secretaries have now been taken on by managers.In what way does this affect executive secretaries?

Do executive secretaries perform clerical tasks? If yes,what clerical tasks do they perform? List three of the occupational tasks which are specific to the career of executive secretaries.

Why is it eential for an executive secretary to develop satisfactory interpersonal relationships? What work performance should a secretary have?

What skills and abilities do executive secretaries need to have?

What knowledge do people in this career need to have?

Do executive secretaries tend to consider achievement important?

How can executive secretaries advance?

3.Language points teaching:

(1)Words study:

Make an appointment with sb., be out, here’s my card, general manager (supplemental vocabulary, CEO, CFO), aistant (some words and usages related by the aistant), the details about the sales, on the telephone, let me check and see, Mr.Wang is available in the whole morning, confirm.

(2)Language study

1.good morning, sir/madam! What can I do for you?

2.Is Mr.Zhang, the general manager, available now?

3.I have an appointment with Mr.Zhang at 9:30 am.

4.May I have your name, please?

5.Welcome to our company.We have been expecting you.Please seat yourself.I’ll call Manager Wang.

6.When is it convenient for him to see me?

7.I’m afraid Mr.Zhang is not available new.He is in conference now.

8.Mr.Zhang is waiting for you at his office.I’ll tell him that you’re here.

9.Please follow me, and I’ll take you to his office.

10.Please leave your card here, and I’ll contact you later.Is that OK?

(4).consolidate and practice and induction and summarization(teaching time setting15minutes) Afterwards, I will pick up some students give us the role play about the reception work of the secretary.

4.Homework aignment, practice and improvement(teaching time setting15minutes)

I aigned the two kinds of homework for students,firstly, required exercises,exercises on page 7-8, and make dialogs and role plays with your roommates and clamates; Secondly, preview for the next section (at the exhibition & conventions).

IV.Blackboard writing design

The blackboard writing design including the contents of situational conversations, background information,language points, examples, the kinds of blackboard writing designing is concise, easily understandable,make the students understand the reception job and the secretarial job.
