恰到好处地使用课堂用语,发挥它应有的作用,以求实现课堂互动的有效性,要求教师做到以下几点:把握语言的节奏和音量,教师可根据课堂实际情景的需要,适时地加快或放慢语速,提高或降低音量;注意语音、语调的起伏变化,教师应根据学生的课堂表现,如配合度、参与度,或用升调或用降调,或用原音或用模仿性的语音来引起更多学生的关注;注意情感的投入,教师应根据教学设计的需要,及时地自然地投入自己的真实情感,以带动学生的情绪,发挥情感教学策略的作用;多使用简洁、简短、准确的语言,以便学生及时理解。

1、力求教学语言规范性

用英语组织教学,对于从事英语教学的教师来说主要解决的是一个认识问题。每一位英语教师要在思想上重视课堂用语的重要性。

1) 虚心好学,好问。

教师在课堂上的语言的功能是与学生交流,让学生理解教师所要表达的意思。这对于把英语作为第二语言的我们的学生来说要听懂教师在课堂上表达的意思有一定的难度,也需要有一个过程。因此,对于初学英语的小学生来说,教师在

课堂上的表达应尽量做到简洁、易懂,以保持学生用英语进行听课的兴趣。如教师可选用用短语的形式来进行表达;用英语表达时配以肢体语言、图片,必要时用少量的中文说明等方法。一位教师在教学中安排招聘环节时,为了向学生说明这是一个招聘会,教师巧妙地运用课件并在课件中出示中文“招聘”,然后用英语向学生进行说明。这样既保持一堂课中语言表达的完整性,又能让学生理解,还能让学生获得新的知识点。另外,那些在课堂中不必要出现的语言教师尽量不要出现。总之,教师在课堂上的语言的表达要让学生清清楚楚、明明白白、干净利落。

2) 要了解英美文化。

例如在学了HELLO后,我们应该让学生知道,在外国,特别是一些正式的场合我们和别人打招呼是不可以用HELLO, HELLO这个词显得有些随便和不礼貌,我们可以用HOW ARE YOU?来代替。另外在教HOW OLD ARE YOU时,教师不只是让学生能读这句话,还要让学生明白英语国家对成年女子提问年龄是不礼貌的。如何既让学生明白它的这一文化特点呢?我在学生操练会话后,设计了这样一个情景会话:

T: How old are you,xx? S1: I’m eleven.How about you? T: It’s a secret.通过这一模拟情景练习,让学生明白了使用时的文化特点。

总之,对我们英语教师来说,要尽可能为学生创设英语学习的环境。常言说:授人以鱼,不如授人以渔。小学阶段,我们要以人为本地用英语组织教学,使学生能在课堂中感受英语的真实交际,提高语言运用能力。

对学生有创意的,创新的思维火花及灵感要及时地、充分地、大大地给与肯定。不妨使用夸张些的语言。

在语言评价中教师一定要注意语言的使用及使用的策略性。教师的一句话有可能会影响学生的一生。如果教师总是说某个学生笨,这个学生有可能就会认为自己不是学习的料,因而放弃努力。当学生对自己没有信心时,教师的一句鼓励的话,就有可能激励他获得成功。因此,教师在课堂上一定要注意所使用的语言,要注意体现反馈语的“人本性”,注重学生的情感因素。

反馈语可分为肯定式评语、参与式评语和启发式纠错。 (1)肯定式评语

最近我在浏览天河部落时,多次在一些贴子上看到了老师们常提到的关于老师的语言素养。其中提得最多的是课堂的组织需要老师用简单、清晰、准确和生动的语言,尤其是针对低、中年级的学生,显得特别重要。从而,自己在备课和上课,甚至在听课的过程中也会特别注意课堂用语的使用,使自己更深刻地意识到课堂用语在英语课中的重要性。恰好自己又看到了这一篇论文,关于英语教师课堂用语存在的问题及对策。下面是文中的一些观点:

一、课堂用语存在的问题

1、课堂用语不规范,说话错误多

教师的教学语言是学生学习的样板,要想培养学生正确使用语言的良好习惯,教师首先应当给学生作出榜样,外语教师尤应如此。可惜课堂上,一不小心就会出现一些不规范的语言:

词序不对Can you gue what does it mean?

词形不准 Let\'s see the two sentence.

2、课堂用语不系统,说话随意性大

教学大纲指出:\"为了使学生的英语与客观事物建立直接联系,提高英语教学效果,在英语教学中要尽量使用英语。

教师课堂用语随意性大,随意性的表现形式

讲中文不讲英文 (\"再来一次。\" \"看看哪个同学坐得最好。\" \"家庭作业,89页第三题。\" \"打开书,翻到45 页。\")

半中文半英文

中文式的英文 (\"Together answer.\" \"Give you five minutes to read the dialogue.\")

时而英文,时而中文。严格地讲,这些教师还没有养成用英语表达思想的语言习惯。

3、课堂用语不活泼,说话单调

语言的表达应该是丰富多采的。课堂上的表现情况不同,教师的评价语也应有层次变化。老用一个词,老唱一种调,语言就乏味,也不利于调动学生的积极性,更不利于学生的口语发展。在课堂上我们经常听到如下一些千篇1律的用语。 如:表扬学生、提示学生注意、提问学生是否理解、叫学生口译中文句子、任意一种场合都是 Good! Pay attention to ....Understand? How to say ...? OK, Right.以上列举的这些课堂用语在目前课堂上出现的频率相当高。一位广州特约教研员曾做过统计:一堂课中有一位教师说了240次\"OK\"。凑巧的是,笔者在一次听课中也发现了一位满口是\"OK\"的教师。15分钟的单词教学中他竟说了120次\"OK\"。在很多情景中,这些教师爱用的高频率词汇并没有错。然而,情况是变化的。学生在课堂上的表现不同,我们的课堂用语也应该有所不同。例如对学生的回答做肯定的评价。教师可以说That\'s it.That\'s right.Good! Very good! Exactly! Great! Great job! Super! 等。根据学生的不同表现,教师使用不同的课堂语言。这样,学生才会因得到一个中肯、客观的评价,而受到激励和鼓舞。教师的课堂用语才会显得生动活泼。

4、课堂用语不通俗,说话费解

口语有别于书面语,用词要简单,说话要明了。对于外语教师来说,我们所讲的课堂用语要适合学生的实际水平,用学生熟悉的词汇来组织课堂教学。能用小词\"small word\" 流利地表达思想是一门艺术。如:有一位老师在向学生解释\"think\"一词时,他的语言就值得我们借鉴:

\"I see with my eyes .I hear with my ears.I walk with my legs.I speak with my mouth.I think with my head.\"

二、针对存在问题的对策

当然,对于开始用英语来组织课堂教学的我们(non native-speaker teachers of English)来说,出现了本文中提到的种种情况,是一个不可避免的阶段,但通过观察、分析和比较,探究如何克服这些课堂用语中出现的毛病乃至最大限度地缩短这个课堂用语的\"中介语阶段\",是有必要的。为此,需要注意下面四个方面的问题。

1、端正认识

用英语组织教学,对于青年教师来说,有一定的基础。主要解决的是一个认识问题。要在思想上重视它,注意课堂用语的系统性、规范性、交际性和针对性。对于部分口语有一定的困难的中老年教师来说,用英语组织教学,首先要消除自卑感,在实践中树立自信心。先备好、讲熟最常用的课堂用语。在此基础上,日积月累,逐渐达到熟练的境地。

2、处理好两个关系

首先是英语和母语的关系。课堂教学中一定要坚持尽量使用英语的原则。利用学生已学的英语来解释或介绍新的教学内容,以便在真实的教学情景中增强学生运用英语的能力。但在教语法和讲解抽象名词时,可适当利用母语。用英语来概括这个关系就是:\"Speak English if poible, speak Chinese if neceary.\" 其次是课堂用语中准确与流利的关系。准确指的是我们用语言表达思想的正确程度(包括语音、语法、用词和语体的正确);而流利则是指我们表达思想时的流利性。长期以来,教师对学生口语练习中出现的错误,是有错必纠。过分强调语言形式的掌握及语言准确的训练,使不少学生因怕讲错而不敢开口。与此相反,我们不少教师的课堂用语则是流利有余,而准确不足。在听课中,我们发现部分教师的课堂用语听起来似乎很流利。但语音、语法错误,逻辑性的错误却比比皆是。有些\"低级错误\"甚至连听课的学生也能指出来。这种以牺牲语言表达的准确性,来追求\"流利\"的现象当然不可取。因为,教师的不规范语言直接影响学生的理解和领悟程度。

3、扩大课堂用语的交际性

课堂用语的交际性,目前还远远没有体现出来。不少教师把课堂用语的使用仅仅局限在少数几句课堂用语中。不敢越雷池半步。放弃了许多师生可以用英语进行交际的机会。例如,上课前如果发现班上新添了一面球赛锦旗,教师就可以用英语向学生了解球赛的简单情况,并向学生表示祝贺。又如,教师找到了一本好的工具书,就可以用英语向学生简要地推介或回答学生的提问。有些教师担心学生的水平还不够。其实,学生对这种真实的言语交际活动很感兴趣。关键是教师敢不敢于挑战自己,有没有这种扩大言语交际的意识。还有一些教师担心这样做会影响教学进度。从教学目的是交流的观点来看,这种担心也是多余的。最新的理论表明,真实的语言交际活动是学生认知语言的重要渠道。

4、虚心学习,敢于实践

对于我们每一位英语教师来说,课堂用语所追求的不是最好,而是更好。几乎每一位教师都面临一个\"学习--实践--提高\"的问题。那么,怎样提高我们教师自身的口语表达能力呢?笔者认为,一要虚心学习,二要敢于实践。虚心学习,首先指的是向书本学习。课堂用语涉及到英语教学体系和专业知识分类的框架。不读一些专业的书籍和刊物,不熟悉一些课堂用语词汇,课堂上就会出现讲\"外行话\"的现象。其次,要向他人学习,向那些课堂用语讲得准确、流利的老师学习。特别要争取机会听外籍教师的课,注意他们在不同的课堂情景中的语言表达方式。还可以有目的地收看教育电视台播放的优秀课例,注意从教学效果的角度揣摩其课堂语言特点,从中吸取养分提高自己的课堂用语水平。除了虚心学习,还要大胆实践。把学到的东西运用到自己的课堂教学中来。这样,也只有这样,我们的课堂用语才会规范、流畅、富有变化。

三、结束语

根据教育学理论,教师的语言能力,尤其是课堂组织教学中使用的语言能力,将在很大程度上决定教师课堂教学的效果。由\"应试教育\"向全面素质教育转变,从某种意义上来说,关键是提高教师的素质。一个外语教师课堂语言质量实际上就是教师基本素质的缩影,让我们不断提高自己的语言使用能力,为把自身素质提高到一个更新的层次而努力吧。

一、问题的提出

新课程标准要求英语课程要面向全体学生,注重素质教育,其中非凡强调英语爱好课的开设和利用,以此更好地激发学生学习英语的爱好,帮助他们建立学习的成就感和自信心,使他们在学习过程中发展综合语言运用能力,提高人文素质,增强实践能力,培养创新精神。

然而,在实际教学实践中,由于教学质量的思想束缚仍过重,加之缺少现成的爱好课资料,英语爱好课往往被上成传统意义上的英语课,学生学习英语还是很浅显地停留在“听者”、“答者”和“受者”,最终的目标还是应试,很少存在真正意义上的“爱好”出发。 要改变这一现状,必须从爱好入手,尤其是抓住爱好课这一阵地,从爱好课的内容、形式、评价标准等方面进行综合的配套研究,探索一种符合学生心理特征,符合新课程标准的英语爱好课模式,从而激发学生学习英语的积极性、主动性,促进学生英语整体素质的提高。

二、研究的过程

瑞士闻名教育家皮亚杰说过:“所有智力方面的活动都要依靠于爱好。”这句话真知灼见地道出了爱好对学习的重要性。 那么,应如何发挥爱好课的优势,激发学生学习英语的爱好,充分调动学生学习英语的积极性,以提高英语教学质量呢? 我从内容、形式、评价三个方面进行了探索:

1、内容丰富,引起学生学习英语的欲望。

英语课由于受教材、教学进度、考试等诸方面的影响,尽管英语教师在教学内容上极力想向课外拓展,但还是离不开教材的束缚,拓展内容因此受到了一定的制约。然而爱好课还由于没有固定的教材,在内容的选择上则有更大的空间,可以根据学校学生的英语现状、学生资源等选择相关内容,达到真正意义上的“从实际出发,由爱好入手”。

生动有趣的故事。故事是小学生喜闻乐见的,爱好课上让学生自主选择故事内容进行讲故事比赛或表演故事片断。讲故事比赛分为两类,第一类是复述原故事;第二类是根据所给的线索词自编故事。其功能也相对应地分为两个,第一类是让没达到根据所给的线索词自编故事水平的学生提供语言输出并从中获得成就感的机会;第二类是给具有较高水平的学生创造性地运用语言表现自我的机会,这样将会促使其产生并维持强烈的间接爱好。利用学生对故事的直接爱好,还可以鼓励学生给自己喜欢的故事录音。早上洗脸、刷牙、吃早餐时听,晚上睡觉前听,强化输入,以达到增加无意识的语言习得量。

精辟深邃的格言警句。警句格言能阐发真理,启迪来者,陶冶性情,激励上进;应用在英语爱好课上,有利于提高学生素质,引发学习爱好,可收到良好效果。

例如根据英语课所学的内容,可以让学生了解一些与之相关的格言警句。比如学了时间以后,可在爱好课上以time为主题,进行惜时勤学教育, 可引用下面警句: Time is money.Time is life.Everything has its time and that time must be watched.(时间是金钱。 时间是生命。万物皆有时,时不可失。) Time and tide wait for no man.(岁月不待人。)

提要:教师的言行会对学生产生潜移默化的影响。在英语教学课堂中,教师应尽量使用英语组织教学,并在语言的规范化、句式的多变化、评价的巧妙化和情感的渗透化等方面优化英语课堂用语。

课堂用语是知识的主要物质载体之一,是师生信息沟通的重要渠道,是联系师生情感的重要纽带。英语作为一门全新的语言,对学生而言本生就是一个挑战。再加上缺乏英语语言环境,规范的英语课堂用语显得尤为重要。教师应尽量使用英语组织教学,营造一个良好的语言学习环境。况且中学生拥有较强的模仿力和记忆力,会自觉或不自觉地模仿教师的发音、语调及说话方式并牢记于心。因此英语课堂用语需要规范并优化。以下是近几年笔者在英语教学中的几点尝试和体会。

(一)注意语言的规范化

每一种语言都有自己的语言习惯和语法。我们不可以任意改变或更改。教师的语言应该是严谨和规范的。教师的课堂用语是学生的样板,要培养学生养成规范使用语言的良好习惯,教师应以身作则。但从学校的课堂教学实践来看,教师的课堂用语还存在些问题。教师不能尽量用英语组织教学,尤其是在农村中学,学生英语底子差而且没养成预习和复习的良好习惯,很难接受全英语授课模式;教师语言使用不够规范,对学生的英语学习不能起到正面指导,更有甚者,教师课堂中的种种口误阻挠了学生英语口语能力的提高。如:宾语从句的语序问题。虽然教师能正确指导学生做题,但在课堂上会习惯地表达成Can you gue what does the word mean? (正确的说法:Can you gue what the word means?) 纵使学生能听懂指令,但长此以往,学生也会犯同样的错误。又如: 当讲到单词或名字拼写时,不少教师会习惯性说How to spell it ?或How to say in English ? (正确的说法:How do you spell it? 或Can you spell it in English?) 英语课堂用语不规范还包括名词的单复数,动词短语的搭配等。英语课堂用语是外语课堂教学的一个重要组成部分,是培养学生直接用英语思维的一种有效手段,教师应规范英语课堂用语。

(二)注意句式的多变化

语言的表达应该是丰富多采的。老是用一个词,老唱一种调,语言就显得平铺直叙,同时也不利于调动学生学习的积极性,更不利于学生口语的发展。教师应不停转变句型或句子结构来表达同样的意思以便让学生多方面多角度的了解一句话并逐渐让他们学会一个意思多种表达的方法。在英语课堂上,教师出现了大量的无效课堂用语。整个课堂重复出现“read after me”,“one two start”,“sit down please”之类的课堂用语。其实这些指令完全可以通过一颦一笑、一举一动来表达。譬如:简简单单用双臂合拢轻轻向上抬起表达whole cla齐读,既节省了教学时间,加大了学生听说英语的练习密度,也取得了事半功倍的教学效果。有些课堂用语要经常转变。

譬如:课上完了,一般说成Cla is over.其实有很多说法:Let’s call it a day.

(三)注意评价的巧妙化

课标指出:“教育是一个从量变到质变的不断发展的活动过程,需要根据情况变化及时做出判断和决定,由此产生相应的教育评价。评价是英语课程的重要的有机组成部分,是实现课程目标的重要保障。”学生是学习的主体也是评价的主体,所以评价要有利于学生自主的多元化、个性化发展;评价要保护学生的自尊心和自信心,体现尊重和爱护,关注个体的处境与需要。课堂评价用语是指在课堂教学这一特定的范围内,教师以口语形式,对学生在课堂内的表现做出的即时反馈性评价。它具有针对性、指向性,是旨在影响学生学习行为的教学言语。教师不可动不动就呵斥、挖苦学生。尤其在课堂上提问时,学生回答不上来应鼓励。如OK / Very good / Thank you;如回答不上来也可以这样鼓励学生:“I’m sure you can answer it.Please sit down and think it over.If you can answer, please put up your hand.”这样既给后进生留下面子,又鼓励他们积极思考。英语教学中课堂评价用语的作用存在的语法错误时,尽量不要马上指出,否则学生受到突然的打断,很可能会忘记下面要说的话,破坏原本轻松愉快的教学氛围。应以鼓励为主,保护学生的自尊心。教师如果能在学生表达内容的小结评价中,指出这一语法错误是大家普遍存在的,并详加讲解,不仅在最大程度上对全体学生的学习起到指导作用,对出现错误的学生的不良影响也会减到最少。当学生的回答很不尽人意时,我们不能说You have made many mistakes,and your intonation is poor.而应该说Your answer shows you understand the story, but there are some grammar mistakes in it.Your pronunciation is clear on the whole, but it should be improved.这样学生才不会觉得自己是一无是处的。教师在指出学生回答问题中的缺点和错误时,首先要寻找他的闪光点再含蓄地指出不足之处,这样可以鼓舞学生充满自信地积极生活和学习。教师要尽量用“积极用语”来代替“消极用语”。即使学生的回答满是语病,没有什么优点值得提出,教师在改正错误时措辞也要温和些,以免伤了他们脆弱的自尊心。真诚的赞美是裹了糖衣的良药,能有效地治疗学生们的心灵的疾病。让我们用美丽的语言,真诚地去赞美我们的学生,唤醒沉睡在他们心中的美好一切吧!

(四)注意情感的渗透化

英语课堂的目的不仅仅是培养学生的语言能力、思维能力、想象能力和创新能力。还应在课堂用语中渗透情感教育,使学生在心智发展的同时,在情感上也

逐渐成熟起来。情感指学习者在学习过程中的感情(emotion)、感觉(feeling)、情绪(mood)、态度(attitude)等。不能否认,英语课堂的首要任务仍然是发展学生的综合语言运用能力。因此,教师要尽可能把情感教育渗透到外语学习内容和学习过程中。布卢姆认为: “一个带着积极情感学习课程的学生,应该比那些缺乏感情、乐趣或兴奋的学生,或者比那些对学习材料感到焦虑和恐惧的学生学习得更加轻松,更加迅速。”而且教师在课堂上流露出的情感会直接影响学生的学习情绪;教师的课堂用语通过情感的介入和作用影响课堂教学效果,学生会把对教师的情感迁移到教师所讲授的课程上来。譬如:新目标Go for it七年级Unit12 What’s your favorite subject?学生就自己喜欢的科目作讨论时暴露出严重的偏科现象,科目的喜好程度非常不等。作为教师应该及时纠正学生的偏向错误并告诉他们Learn all subjects well and be a good student.简简单单的一句课堂用语实际上爱所有的功课的情感渗透到了英语课堂中。再譬如八年级Unit11 Could you please clean your room? 在学习日常活动时,教师可以罗列出学生和父母经常从事的日常活动,然后引导学生把这些活动作比较。父母做了很多本该学生自己完成的事。那么,学生应该更加努力学习来报答父母的养育之恩,并在闲暇之际做力所能及的事情来帮助他们。简单的几句课堂用语实际上把感恩的心渗透到了英语课堂中。在课本内容中提升情感目标,用课堂用语渗透情感,鼓励、安慰、肯定学生,让学生在课堂里感受到老师的重视和关爱。教师的语言直接影响到教育对象。语言作为人与人之间交流思想,表达情感的主要渠道,而教师的课堂教学用语面向的是接受知识和教育的学生,尤其是性格爱好、心理素质都还很不成熟的学生,教师的课堂用语是否得体,会极大地影响到课堂教学效果。因此,英语教师一定要重视课堂用语,把握课堂用语,更要优化课堂用语。让学生在轻松愉快的教学氛围中通过教师的英语课堂用语不仅牢固地掌握英语的学习,而且感受到教师的和蔼可亲。 星沙英语网
