A Study of Irony in Pride and Prejudice from the Perspective of Speech Act Theory
言语行为理论视角下《傲慢与偏见》中反讽的研究 级号
Abstract: With the rapid development of pragmatics, many linguists begin to focus their attention on a new discipline—literary pragmatics, in which speech act theory enjoys a wide range of application.This thesis is intended to make a detailed analysis of irony in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, on the basis of Speech Act Theory．It reviews approaches to irony in both literary and linguistic fields，elaborates the connections between irony and speech act theory, presents previous literary criticism on Jane Austen’s irony in Pride and Prejudice，and finally makes a case analysis of the feature in the fiction from the perspective of speech act theory．In the light of the studies mentioned above, this thesis draws on Austin and Searle’s speech act theory in the case analysis of irony in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice，to affirm the feasibility of applying pragmatic theories，speech act theory in particular, in literary studies．

【摘要】
随着语用文学的快速发展，许多语言学家开始将其研究目光投向一门新兴学科一文学语用学，在该学科中言语行为理论得到广泛的运用。本文以言语行为理论为理论基础，就简·奥斯汀《傲慢与偏见》中的反讽的使用进行了详尽的分析。本文回顾了从文学和语言学角度分析反讽的理论研究，详细阐述了反讽与言语行为理论之间的关联，回顾了关于简·奥斯汀的反讽艺术及其在《傲慢与偏见》中的运用的文学研究和批评，最后本文就《傲慢与偏见》中的反讽运用进行了言语行为理论视角的个案研究。鉴于以上几点，本文运用Austin和Searle的言语行为理论对简·奥斯汀《傲慢与偏见》中的反讽进行了个案研究，以求验证语用理论，特别是言语行为理论，在文学研究方面的可行性。
