The name of book is The Wind in the Willows .This book was it was written by Kenneth Grahame who was born in Edinburgh in 1859 .The story talk about the mole make friends with rat .So the mole experience a new life .That was the first of many wonderful days for the mole ,as the spring turned slowly into a golden summer .From that time ,he learned to swim and to row ,and he learned to love the sound of the wind when it went whispering its secrets through the trees and the plants by the river .Besides he make friends with toad ,badger and otter .The life of the mole is filled with exciting and adventurous .
The book of animals has its own unique character .However,I was impreed by the rat .In that the rat is true and sincere friends and keep calm when problems crop up .For instance ,in the first place ,when the mole rat was first time to meet rat ,but the river was new to him and he did not know how to get to to the other side .Then rat said nothing ,and disappeared .Next he appeared again ,in a little blue and white boat ,which came quickly acro the river towards the mole ,to his great surprise and excitement ,found himself actually sitting in a real boat .What is more ,the rat had prepared lunch for the mole .What lunch it was !There were cold meats and egg sandwiches ,cooked chicken and tomatoes ,apples and a large cake .In the second place ,the mole began to think that he knew everything about oats now and he wanted to row .The rat shook his head with a smile .Before the rat could stop him ,he jumped up ,and pulled the oars out of the surprised rat\'s hand .The mole made a great dig at the water with the oars ,but the oars never touched the water at all .The mole\'s legs flew up above his head ,and he found himself lying on top of the rat in the bottom of the boat .Frightened ,he tried to get up ,got hold of the side of the boat ,and the next moment －splash !It was the rat ,of course ,who pulled the mole out of the water ,who turned the boat right way up ,who found the oars ,who got the lunch basket from the bottom of the river .Rat kindly said,\"I am always in and out of the water myself ,so don\'t worry about it .But I really think you should come and stay with me for a while .You will be very comfortable ,and I will teach you to row and to swim .Soon you will be as good a boatman as any of us .\"The novel was almost too happy to speak and could find ,no words to thank his friends .In the third place ,the mole wanted to meet the badge for a long time .He often spoke about his wish to the water rat ,but the rat did not seem to want to do anything about it .In fact ,badgelived right ,in the middle of the wood .Where it was a strange and dark place .Then the mole decided to go out by himself and take a walk in the wind wood He was not at all frightened at first .He went deeper and deeper into the wood ,where the light was le and the trees grew close together .All the wood seemed to be alive ,running ,following ,chasing ,something or somebody ,now the mole had felt in himself .At that time ,the rat look ed for him and helped to hurry away acro the field .
In a word ,the rat set a good example to us .We should be true to my friends.True friends should share sb.\'s joys and sorrows .
